Hate to do this, but.... Went in today for gel nails. No manicure, just gel. I was the only customer inside. Like 5-6 people waiting to service. Not bad. I'm really disappointed, I had to keep asking the lady to paint my nail edges. She basically was just going down the middle. I kept telling her and she just continues nodding at me. She kept repainting so much, that my nail ends are super thick and unnatural feeling. I paid and walked out. No need in fussing or complaining with them. I called and asked the price for a Mani Pedi, we were told $55. I took my 89-year-old mother there to have a Mani Pedi. I told them when I got there. She wanted the $55 Mani Pedi. When it came time to pay, they charged her $110. She had told them she wanted the $55 Mani/pedi. The man who we assumed was a manager said they gave her one that would last longer, and she did not want that. We went ahead and paid the bill, but I would not recommend this place. Was in the area for vacation... was fooled by the beautiful designs outside of the shop. Thought they were decent so I decided to give them a chance. Big mistake... the older fellow decided that he could do the design I had in mind after I showed them all a couple of reference pictures. The place was not busy at all, it was early during a week day. The worker took at least an hour just to shape my nails. Which in the end were thick, crooked and misshapen. (A friend that came in 30mins after me was finished before I was) After seeing this I decided that there was no way I was gonna pay $5 each finger for the designs I wanted if the base was horrible. Settled with a plain white base which in the end was thick and messy. He clearly didn't know what he was doing as he took a very long time to finish and had various of his coworkers hovering over him and commenting as he went. Even had another lady come in and try to "fix" his work. Very unsatisfied and would extremely not recommend. LOOK ELSEWHERE!! Awful! They accept everybody walking in the door like they are going to help you right away but you could end up waiting a half hour. I got a fill done and the owner was the one that was helping me and she did an awful and unhygienic job. All the things she did wrong: Listed a price for me for long nails, I get mine cut short as possible - I didn't get a different price. I got charged $10 for her to draw a Hawaiian flower on two fingers ($5 each) but all she did was 5 dots with a jewel in the center. I was expecting a hand drawn flower like the example nail they had in their store. She tried to pry off my existing acrylic that was still okay claiming they were lifting... she couldn't pry them off. So no, they weren't lifting. She wasn't careful filing my nails so she ended up cutting my skin. She needed to apply acetone to my nails prior to application and poured some in a little cup and when done POURED IT BACK INTO THE BOTTLE OF ACETONE. Then later she realized she needed to clean her grinding tips so she pulled out her tips and put it in the same cup and poured enough acetone in to touch less than 1/4 of the grinding tips... that's not going to clean anything! She asked me to wash my hands I didn't see a trash can for me to throw my paper towel into so I carried it back to the table and placed it down waiting to ask where to throw it away. She started painting my nails and messed up so she picked up my DIRTY towel and used it to clean up her mess on my nail! She also used my dirty towel to clean the tool she used to make my "flower". It's been 4 days and all my tips are chipping away and I just looked down at my thumb and this lovely vision greeted me. (See pic) read more

Awesome! Literally a 'one stop shop'. They doing everything, including hair! Walk past this salon almost daily, have always wanted to try it out. Always seemed to have a line. The other day, I was in luck! It was early, no line. Decided to get my eyebrows waxed (yes, my ebrows waxed). Greeted immediately. As a man, sometimes it's a bit awkward to enter a nail salon, but didn't feel that vibe at all. They were so genuinely happy to have me, it was great. Eyebrows turned out perfectly (I do not shape them, just clean around the edges lol). I decided to get a manicure as well (I'm not a fan of cutting my own nails), perfect. I have actually gotten compliments on both. The entire staff and I were having a conversation during the nails, very Aloha! I'm definitely a new customer, and will do an update. There are too many other nail salons in Waikiki to go to this one... went to get a polish change the first day I arrived because a couple nails had chipped while traveling. I should have been concerned when the paint had a "$3.97" label still on it's top, but I was trusting the "experts." As should have been expected, the polish had chipped, broken and fallen off by the next day when I hadn't even gone to the beach yet!! I went back in for them to be fixed... attempted the white polish again (it literally pulled off in junks while I was sitting there). When that didn't work, we moved on to an OPI light green. During polishing, I was told the paint was old... so why was it on the shelf?!? further, was it my job to know? In any case, I did my best to give this salon the opp to fix the problem...instead my nails would have been in better condition if I just stuck with the original chipping polish and I will be headed directly to the salon when I get home. I got a pedi and requested Hana bc she had great reviews here. Happy nice lady, detail oriented, and does a fantastic job! The salon itself is small and has cozy vibe (not your mainstream/mainland industrial salon type). The owner suggested manicure and that was the only "selling" they did to me (maybe bc I look like a local). Overall, unlike many other places I've gone too, all employees greeted me with a smile and I had a great experience! My husband and I just wanted to stop outside the salon to look at the menu when one of the staff came and literally dragged us in there. Only then, sitting on the massage chair, I saw this place had only 3 stars. But we are happy with the result of our pedicure. My therapist, Cinderella, constantly tried to upsell, and I said no to everything except the painted flower on my big toe for $5, which I now love. My husband's therapist didn't talk to him at all, so quite the opposite. Of course they only tip your leg during the pedicure instead of telling you what to do next, but I guess they do that everywhere. They have a bathroom outside in the backyard and free wifi. Next time I would probably go to Nail Salon Koko in the area, it's a quieter salon and a more beautiful one in my opinion. On our recent vacation in Waikiki last April, we stayed in one of the many lovely hotels there. And on my second day, I've been anxious to find a nail salon because I needed to get my nails fixed coz I cracked it on accident and it hurt so bad! Since I'm in beautiful Hawaii, i searched on the Internet for some Hawaiian inspired nail arts. ^_^ While taking a walk after a yummy lunch, I found this salon, just few walks away. It's not that spacey like most salons in Phoenix that I normally go to..but hey it's Hawaii! Everything is expensive, including the rentals and lease haha. As long as the place is clean, the staffs are nice and friendly and give you the kind of service to make me and my nails happy, that's all I need! ^_^ I was approached by their manager, and there was only him and two other staffs at that time. He was very nice and so are the other ones. They're Vietnamese. These people I noticed are very good in nail salon business. So the manager/owner himself did my nails. He was very kind, as he asked what do I want for my nail. I told him the certain design I want, and showed him the picture. I didn't do the same exact color on there, I picked my preferred color, and wanted just one finger with a nail art. To make it simple but elegant. He did exactly what I told him to do and turned out perfect! He surely did an amazing great job!! I was more than satisfied, with his service..BUT not with their fees! LOL! it is too overpriced! Just for this manicure with one nail art I paid $85 I know there's fee to remove the old acrylic nails.. I normally pay $45 on the mainland with this service including tip. But oh Well, I guess that's their way to cope up with the very high cost of living in Hawaii..it's just too much though. it's nice to go to a place where you and your wallet are both happy. read more

Imagine me wanting to get a "military style" do which is a simple razor using "0" or "1" and all around, OH WAIT! I mean, just shave my head. Why did that take more than 20 minutes, I have no idea. I'm an idiot. AFTER I sat down in the chair for a pedi (and mani), I started looking up Yelp reviews on this place and immediately started to regret coming here. Before walking in, I checked out their prices posted on the door: $50 Gel Pedi and $40 Gel Mani. Fine enough, I guess (for Waikiki). After I sat down for the pedi, a lady started to work on my mani and immediately tried to up-sell me. She said it was $88 for a mani-pedi combo (a nice little surprise from the expected $90) but asked if I wanted to "take off skin" and foot/leg massage for $15. I was surprise because I thought exfoliation/cuticle care and massage would be included like most places. I declined. She then told me that since I already had Gel on my toes, it was a $3.00 to take if off (Which was NOT a price posted on the door). (ok, admittedly, I've gone a LITTLE too long without getting a pedi and my gel had already grown off all my toes expect for my two big toes. Bad, I know. But hey, we all do it, right? Right??) I argued that I only had gel on TWO toes (by the way, the other lady had ALREADY taken it off, before telling me about the $3.00 charge!). She ended up backing off and told me not to worry about the extra charge. During the pedi, the lady gave me a mini (although lame) leg/foot massage and did cuticle care, so I guess an extra $15 would have actually just given me an extra massage/exfoliation? Anyway, they did a great job on the actual paint job but the experience was mediocre at best. The pedi "massage" chairs were pathetic and the overall ambiance left much to be desired.
