They are not related to another similar sounding restaurant Nee Hao, over near the airport. Their layout is L shaped once inside and fairly bright compared to old school Chinese restaurants with darker floors and interiors. I felt the interior is very mixmatched with a tropical theme in one area, a replica british telephone booth in another area, a room decorated in numerous flowers, and restrooms with distressed wood looking porcelain giving off a Texas country vibe. The space does have high ceilings, which is fairly unique for a casual Chinese restaurant. The menu contains 2 parts, their standard menu and a separate single-page combo menu. Each combo which is a few dollars more than the entree and comes with iced tea, a sesame ball, a fried chicken wing, crispy spring roll, a soup and crispy wonton chips. Wow, they really include a lot for just a few dollars more. Most of the entrees are your typical Americanized Chinese dishes but a few are more authentic, like the 3 different fish filled dishes and the black pepper chicken cutlet. Their regular menu has hot pot, some Sichuan cuisine appetizers, beef noodle dishes, Taiwanese dishes, veggies, a fried section, and a fried rice and noodle section. Some of the more interesting dishes include a swan-shaped durian pastry, brown sugar sticky rice cake, and 2 different stir-fried crawfish dishes. I went with the tried and true Mongolian beef combo. This turned out to be one of the best Mongolian beef dishes I've ever had. It gets an 8 as far as presentation and is very colorful. It comes with cilantro and diced green onions, which you dont see very often on this dish. The sauce, which is normally a thick brown, is a lighter chili oil here instead and tastes like a dish you would eat at the more authentic Chinese restaurants in Bellaire area. The beef is very tender and melts in your mouth. I was unfortunately not a fan of the chicken wing or the vegetarian spring roll. Maybe it was the oil they fry them in.....not sure. Service here is pretty good as well. My iced tea was refilled a few times as needed. I will say their TV's were on the fritz during my visit amd should be checked. One had no signal and another above my table was frozen on a children's program.

I had very high expectations for this restaurant after seeing all of the positive reviews online…read moreand learning that it had been recognized by the James Beard Foundation. I genuinely wanted to give this place five stars, but unfortunately our experience was disappointing overall. When we first arrived, there was nobody at the front to greet or seat us, and we waited several minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Service started off decent enough, but once our food arrived, it felt like we were completely forgotten. Nobody checked on our table afterward, we never received water refills, and our server was essentially unavailable for the rest of the meal. We were also seated next to an extremely loud party that was yelling throughout dinner. We wanted to request another table because it was disrupting the experience, but our server never returned to our section, so we never had the opportunity to ask. For a restaurant that presents itself as high caliber, I was surprised that management allowed such a disruptive atmosphere to continue. As for the food, the BBQ Pork Buns and Siu Mai were both very good. The award-winning Beef Rendang was easily the highlight of the meal and the best dish we ordered. Unfortunately, the Mee Goreng and Malaysian Fried Rice were major disappointments. Both dishes had an unpleasant smell and lacked flavor or seasoning, making them very unappetizing. Another issue was finding a bug on our table during dinner. I understand things can happen, but combined with everything else, it added to an already frustrating experience. We even wanted additional napkins, but again, our server never came back to check on us. Eventually, we became so frustrated waiting for service that we got up and paid the bill ourselves. Ironically, that was the moment our server finally reappeared. To make matters worse, gratuity appeared to already be added to the bill, which honestly did not feel deserved given the level of service we received. Overall, the BBQ Pork Buns and Beef Rendang were the only parts of the experience that saved the meal for us. It's disappointing because the restaurant itself is beautifully designed and has a great ambiance, which made us even more excited to try it. Unfortunately, the poor service and inconsistent food quality overshadowed what could have been a much better dining experience.

When we arrived for dinner there were several diners, but it wasn't overly crowded. Plus, it was happy hour...perfect timing. Our waitress was very helpful with helping us decide. We finally decided on the baked mussels and fried calamari from the happy hour menu. Our main course was the deluxe platter. Absolutely amazing. Some of the pieces on the platter are chosen by the chef. The platter consisted of salmon, yellowtail, tuna, sea bream, and red snapper -- the sea bream took the show! Very robust flavor! The red snapper, a close second. Everything was so good. Very fresh selection. Can't wait to visit again.

The food was very good!…read more I was hesitant at first because some of the menu seemed to be fusion items. In a place like Houston, where you can get authentic Vietnamese food, this can be a luck draw if the fusion pays off. However, when I tried the food, it was a very flavorful and worth every cent I spent. Everything was very tasty. The wings were flavorful and crisp. It had a combination of crispy skin seasoned with a rich sauce. The meat was also moist. For a party of two, it was also very shareable because they gave six pieces -both drums and wings. I will say that you really gotta to get in there get your hands and face dirty though! (They did provide a hand wipe!) For the main dishes, the won tonic soup was very flavorful with sweet-and-sour elements with egg noodles that soaked up all this good flavor. The wontons inside were very standard. And the onion was added to provide some balance. Everything was very hardy and filling. My friend had gotten the vermicelli. Which came with crunchy egg rolls, shredded veggies, noodles, and shrimp topped with a fish sauce. It felt very light and refreshing with a balance of textures and savory elements'. Highly recommend as the number one and two selling dishes - it would just depend on if you're in a soup or dry noodle sort of mood. Service was overall fast and friendly. You have to pay by going to the counter. We had a newer waiter though, and it took him a long time to get our orders correctly and he had to get some help. Hopefully they're doing well, but overall, it's a very cute Homie little establishment. Seating fits around 30 around booths and tables.

We spent about $60, and unfortunately... this was one of the most disappointing meals we've had in a while. The food tasted old across the board. The egg rolls were burnt, the sweet and sour chicken was dry and flavorless, and the General Tso's chicken was soggy and overly sweet. The only things even remotely edible were the lo mein and fried rice. To make things worse, the service didn't match the price point. For a $60 order, we were given just four soy sauce packets, no plasticware, and no fortune cookies. When I asked for more soy sauce, sriracha, and duck sauce, I was initially given barely anything had to ask again and explain I had a full meal to feed. They eventually brought more, but still no fortune cookies. My husband and I eat out often because of our schedules, and we don't mind spending money on good food but this was not it. I had really high hopes because it's hard to find solid Chinese food in the Spring area, and I was hoping this could become a go-to spot. Unfortunately, it won't be. If I weren't so tired, I would've called back to complain but I just didn't have the energy. Chalking this one up as a loss and doing better next time. Would not return and I wouldn't trust the good reviews either. ‼‼

Good quality sushi rolls & pretty interior I went here for…read moredinner with my dad and ordered a couple speciality rolls, ramen, and some calamari as an appetizer. I found their selection of specialty rolls to be very unique and was delighted by the quality of the fish. Furthermore, the rolls were very generous in size and included a lot of fish. Definitely would come here again to try different rolls and their sashimi! - Pink lady roll (4.7): I ordered this roll because I was intrigued by how many different fish were inside (tuna, salmon, white fish, shrimp), and was surprised that they all ended up working well together. All the fish tasted fatty and fresh and the shrimp added a nice chewy texture that the roll needed. This roll was quite hefty with a generous amount of each ingredient and every bite felt so satisfying. Definitely order this roll if you like raw fish! - Yuzu tuna roll (4.4): This was a well rounded roll. The yuzu was pretty strong and gave the roll such a refreshing and bright flavor. I also loved the addition of red onions which added to the fresh taste. The tuna on top was so red and beautiful, and the spicy tuna inside had a nice kick to it that lingered afterwards. - Spicy chicken ramen (3.6): This was a pretty good chicken ramen. The broth was very flavorful and savory with a hint of sesame. The toppings were all cooked well and the noodles were nice and thick. My only complaints would be the chicken was on the drier side and there wasn't any spicy flavor at all. Also the portion was a bit on the smaller side, but overall still very enjoyable dish. - Crispy Calamari (3.6/5): The calamari was well seasoned and crispy on the outside. Most of the squid wasn't too chewy and was a pretty good texture overall, but there were a few that had a more rubbery texture. Service/ambiance: the service was really good! Our server, Sunny, was very patient and helped answer all of our questions. The interior was really pretty with Japanese style decor and some of the booths had privacy dividers, which made a very cozy vibe.
