First time reviewing after going here for big occasions for years! I most recently visited for…read moretheir Valentine's Day Craft session and I had such a good time! I made some concrete coasters from scratch while I sipped an espresso martini. The service is prompt, and the specialists are also really kind and knowledgeable. The crafts range from simple to complex, and every craft is very independent! Avoid if you're not into loud noises as the work space is a little small and others and their crafts will be making lots of noise! (Especially the hammer for the leather works!) I've never had a drink here I didn't love, but the espresso martini especially is one of my favorites in the city. Really mellow flavor and very foamy. The Craftery is perfect for bachelorette parties, birthdays, and date nights. Next time skip the fancy dinner and make some concrete coasters instead! Then grab some takeout and enjoy your craft!

Things don't turn out the way my brain envisioned them and I find myself more frustrated than inspired. The shop offers various items to craft and once purchasing the project, the supplies are provided. Long tables fill the space. The staff were amazing and kept the drink line reasonable. I also loved their generosity in donating two visits to the bingo winners.

I've been to other painting classes and Board & Brush is the Cream of the Crop hands down. The process is super easy. Go online and choose your project, you can even customize what you want it to say. Once you arrive and check in they already have your seating set up, (TIP: if you are going with a friend make sure you put that friend's name down...they have a place for that when you're booking.). This place is staffed appropriately and they are like a well oiled machine. We got to our table they had the boards there and the stencils and confirm that it's to your liking. I didn't realize that we actually put the boards together, stain them along with the painting; but, don't freak out, they have everything you need and it's super fun to do that part. My friend chose a beautiful cardinal scene to put outside her front door for Christmas and I chose the gingerbread man. I did change what they had written on the website to be "Home Sweet Home". Y'all it is so fun and fulfilling to complete a project start to finish. I'm gushing so I'm gonna finish with this...don't put this off, just go. It's so much fun to do by yourself or with friends. Oh and if you want some wine they have it!! Whoo hoo!!! Trust me just go. You will enjoy it!

They bring a passion with them to the expertise they offer you. That's what it's like to step into Ms Audrey's Emporium. The entrance is filled with art projects that invite you to explore within yourself- What do you wish to create? What crafting skill have you been meaning to pick up or grow? What part of you haven't you had a chance to express yet? And then Ms Audrey will ask you what you're interested in making, so she can help you bring it from idea to life! My artistic, seven-year-old daughter and I came to Louisville for spring break and enjoyed spending more than two days with Ms Audrey. We had stopped at the Speed Art Museum on our way into the city. Pro tip: The speed is free on Sundays. My daughter was inspired by some community artwork with mixed media on canvas. We showed a picture of the inspiration to Ms Audrey. She had the perfect materials and know-how to help us create our own masterpiece, inspired by the art we saw at the museum. My daughter did not want to do anything else in the city besides make art with Ms Audrey- we even skipped the children's museum. We learned different techniques for using the materials and I'll definitely be incorporating them as we continue to create at home. Ms Audrey helps you not only bring beauty into the world, but she makes learning a new craft accessible step by step. Her process helps you create while expanding your crafting skills along the way. She offers such a unique experience. As someone who continually strives to bring analog experiences to the younger generations, I fully approve and value the service she brings to the community. Her prices are absolutely affordable for the value and materials she has to offer. If you're considering starting a crafting hobby or working on a specific craft project, go see Ms Audrey.

Plenty of work space and good for groups. Check Out their website to see what painting classes they are offering when! Not just canvas painting and other options too! We always have gone with a private booked group and the past couple of times we were back in the smaller private room. This occasion we had about 26 ppl so we had booked the larger rooms. We arrived 20mins before our 6pm scheduled start only to find that they gad double booked for the evening. They wanted to put the 26 of us back in the smaller room when the other group of about 18 wasn't scheduled until 7ish. They obviously weren't expecting us and had to scramble to set up our colors ect. Our booking had been on the books and prepaid several months ahead. I will say that the 2 employees working did work to get us set up but this caused a delay in our start time...which comes in later. As we lined up for payment/drinks etc we were then informed that they no longer had wine. They had single bottle coolers and bud light. That was disappointing since when we'd been here in the past you could purchase by the glass or bottle and we usually by several bottles. As the 2nd group arrived the 2nd employee took them to the back leaving us with only our instructor, which meant any time someone needed a drink ahe had to go handle that which lead to several stops in the instructional process, which was already spotty in my opinion. I personally didn't feel the instructor we had was very personable. In the past we've enjoyed great interaction and encouragement. I could hardly hear anything she was saying (other paint and sips I've gone to wear a headset mic). The only time she seemed interested in having us hear her is when she was trying to sell us some pre-painted items in the shop. Most places will mention that items can ve bought but I really felt like it was being pushed hard as there was more than 1 time she brought something to the front of the room and discussed it's availability for purchase. As we wrapped up and as the 2nd group was finishing thier 1hr class, we were instructed to 'brushes down' so she could get our group photo. I felt like we were being pushed out the door. And while I get that they want to close and go home, it was thier error that delayed our start time by about half an hour. I am hoping that this experience isn't the norm for this location, the past 2 visits were very enjoyable. However if this place isn't going to be serving wine we certainly will be looking for a new location for our regular GNO.

I believe these type of events are more about the experience. They can be fun for a group event with family, friends or co-workers. CONS: It is in the basement, so there are no windows (if that is something that bothers you). The instructor talked too much (personal, not conversational), and would disappear unexpectedly at different times. She only came around a couple of times to offer tips and assistance, and seemed a bit impatient. The setup was a bit awkward from some viewpoints, as there are pillars in the middle of the room. They have monitors to assist, but it can still be hard to see what they're doing, and the "color chart" was impossible to see for most of us. It felt like we spent a lot of time mixing colors, and then quickly dabbing the paint on canvas to catch up with the instructor. We felt rushed. I believe the sessions are supposed to be 2.5 to 3 hours, but we were there about 2 hours at most. PROS: It's in the heart of downtown Jeff, near great restaurants and the Big 4 walking bridge, all in walking distance. There is a lot of free parking nearby as well. There were bright paintings all down the hallways, and in the large basement studio, which cheered up the space. It was neat and clean, and everything was easily accessible. The instructor was friendly and joked around with us some. She put on a playlist of music, which was her own choice of hits but she offered to put on something we would like if we wanted. We had a good time joking off and on while we tried to follow along. We all ended up with different results, and had fun being together and laughing at our mistakes. Overall, we had fun, but because that is what we brought into it. A big part of these experiences does lie with the instructor (or host you could say) and their skill at hospitality as well as art. I admit I wouldn't return if I knew the same instructor or someone similar was leading it. (She mentioned several times that she was the owner's daughter.) Opinions and experiences are subjective, so you should check it out for yourself.

This is my first time doing a "sip and paint" and I really enjoyed it and would repeat in the future. They have discounted session prices on Tuesdays. The new location has only been open for a week and would be a great idea for the holidays as a place to gather for a fun time or also as a gift idea for even the non-artist in your life. Plenty of free public parking located across the street as well as behind the building. Enter through the glass doors and travel down the stairs to a welcoming art space in the basement. The instructor greeted us and directed us to pick out our paints, protective aprons, and brushes and we chose our easel stations. They also sell wine and beer and snacks and frequent take breaks as needed during the evening to accommodate refreshment and stretching your legs after sitting for an hour. I chose a $6 glass of Cabernet and the entire paint session is typically 2-1/2 to 3 hours long. I also purchased a really cute t-shirt for $15, which supposedly can be custom ordered in various colors, sizes, and multiple designs. An inspiration picture is displayed at the front of the classroom and the instructor provides step-by-step instructions to replicate the image. Our instructor was Moira for this particular project, and she was very helpful in providing individual assistance as needed or requested. Her expertise was very helpful! As you can see from my impressionistic version of the original piece, art is in the eye of the beholder! I had fun, which was my main objective here.
