So I was told by a friend that the oil all over the top of my engine was the turbo leaking and that it was going to be very expensive. I took it to Kundert and worried all night about it. They called the next morning and said that who ever last changed the oil spilled it all over the engine and it was clean and dry now. read more

Worst car experience I ever had. I live in Boston and they are 250 miles away in NJ. I told salesperson Stoja Anderson that I was interested in one of their pre-owned XC90's to replace my wife's aging 2005 XC90, and that before I spent an entire day taking a train from Boston into NYC, and then a 1/2 hour Uber from NYC to their dealership in NJ, to carefully check over the car and let me know of ANY scratches or dents in the car so I could make a decision of whether the trip would be worth it. She sent me 4-5 photos taken at a such an angle that you really couldn't see any imperfections, and all from the outside, again with the assurance that the condition inside and outside was PRISTINE. Based on these assurances, I made the long trip there to pick up the car. Upon spending 4.5 hrs in an Amtrac and 30 min in an Uber, I arrived to find the car with at least 15 scratched, dents and gouges on both the inside of the car as well as the inside. I was furious. To her credit Stoja kept apologizing, which while admirable, didnt alleviate the fact I just spend $250 traveling there to see a car I never would have bought if these clearly visible imperfections was described to me when I inquired. Either she was grossly inept, or dishonest, either not a good trait in dealing with customers making $40,000+ purchases Then the clown show really started when manager Ralph Vigorito came out to get involved. This is the worst part: He REFUSED to accept responsibility for his salesperson's gross misrepresentation, and only tried to cover up it up by rationalizing that its "still pretty good for a used car". I could have dealt with 2 or 3 dents or scratches, but 12-15 was a bridge too far. I asked him to please reimburse me for the cost of my trip down and back to compensate me for his agents misrepresentations, but he scoffed at the concept and said there would be no compensation. His message was clear: "I dont care what costs you incurred based on what my salesperson told you, thats your issue". Wow When I called to ask my wife what I should do, her question was compelling, "if they lied to you about its condition, what else are they lying to you about the car". The test of a dealer's integrity isn't when things go right, its when they go wrong. If they had ANY integrity, a sincere apology should have been forthcoming with compensation for the cost of my travel. There was neither. They are the stereotypical sleazy car dealer. There are many honest sales dealerships out there you can deal with. This is NOT one of them. Stay far away. Its not worth the gamble read more

Not clear who owns or runs the place, but they might want to spend a little more time watching what's going on (or not going on) in the showroom. I was looking to buy/lease my first car ever. The first day me and my wife went out looking in nyc we came back very discouraged with our experiences. After doing some research it sounded like this was the worst time to be doing all of this. Because of need and necessity we decided to continue looking but I will say we werent hopefully. We ultimately found a car at Kundert on their website and emailed with Yasmeen. She was super helpful and responsive and so one day when we were in the area we decided to stop in and just see if we could see XC60s and test drive them. Yasmeen quickly got us to Bernie and what a blessing that was. Bernie was an amazing person to work with. He wasnt pushy at all and gave us all the facts we were looking for. He found us multiple cars to look at and test drive and broke down different options to lease each one. He never once made us feel uncomfortable about asking all the questions we had nor did he try and push us into anything we didnt feel was right. It seemed like his only goal was to get us into a car we wanted and that we felt comfortable with. When we were ready to go ahead and lease a car we found out that the car we were talking about was actually already signed up for. My wife and I were discouraged but Bernie took action and found us a couple more cars that fit what we were looking for and that would fit the deal we had already agreed on. The car we decided on wasnt ready on the day but Bernie had us put a little money down that was refundable and said for us to come back when it would be take a look and decide then. Wasnt pushing us to sign any lease right there. He was great at communicating the entire time with us as well. When we finally went in he had everything set up ready to go. We had the apps we needed and all the paperwork was pretty much ready to sign. He also makes great videos that you can send to your family and friends about the car you just got. We finally meet with Brad and getting in and out of his office was a breeze. Everything you read on the internet about finance office makes it seem like it will be a big battle and they will try and be sneaky on every level. Ill say that Brad wasnt pushy at all. He answered all of our questions and gave us all the paper work we wanted. He didnt seem to hide anything from us and was just read to give us the deal we agreed on without pushing random extras. Overall I will say this experience was more then what we could have hoped for and by far the best one we had in all of the dealerships we were looking at. I cannot speak highly enough or thank Kundert Volvo enough for their amazing service all around. I should start off with my experience at Ramsey Volvo. I was helped by Mike who was prompt & helpful. My experience at Ramsey took a turn when he went back to get lease numbers from the sales manager Tom. When talking to Mike about the numbers he gave me, I told him that I was already quoted at Volvo of Englewood for lower than what he gave me. When Mike went back to the sales manager again, Tom then came out to talk to us himself. Tom talked to me & my husband personally to tell us that we were lying & numbers like what we were previously quoted on did not exist. He still refused to believe it even when we showed him the paperwork. He was speaking to us in a condescending way that it made both me & my husband uncomfortable. I was appalled that anyone would speak to a potential customer in this manner. Our conversation was short & ended with him turning us away & saying then we should just leave & go get those numbers. There was no room for negotiation nor did they even want to make a sale, which was fine by me because I do not want to do business with anyone who treats people in such a negative manner. I then went to my third Volvo dealership which was Kundert Volvo in Hasbrouck Heights. I was greeted by the woman working at the front desk who connected me with Bernie. Bernie has worked at the Volvo dealership for almost 40+ years & it shows in the way that he truly cares about his job. Bernie went over the numbers with me to ensure I got what I was looking for. He knew the price point that I wanted to spend & was able to assist me in getting there meanwhile he was patient the entire time. He was very thorough so that I was able to understand every little expensense that I put down. Aside from Kundert Volvo giving me an absolutely amazing deal & beating out both Ramsey & Englewood Volvo dealerships, what they really won me on was how they treated me. The purpose of this letter is to inform Volvo Corporate of the dilatory response regarding the above referenced incident number concerning franchisee, Kundert Volvo of Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey USA, having poorly representing the Volvo Corporation by its owners, management and employees in a public relations debacle outlined in subsequent pages of this communication. I am aghast that Volvo USA maintains the stance that it is strictly a dealer issue. As a retiree of a distinguished corporation, #33 - #38 of (USA) Fortune 500, we stressed the following values: ethics, respectful in all customer/cultural relationships around the world, proper stewardship of company resources, being considerate of competitors, fairness and honesty in all dealings and so forth. Employees exercised proper etiquette outside of the workplace so as not to besmirch the corporate image. This mindset always carried over to dealings with vendors, in this instance Kundert Volvo on the personal level. A courtesy loaner was signed out for an expected duration of one day, for routine maintenance; the service adviser noted additional items for servicing with consent being approved. It should be noted that two business days would suffice for the entire service call. I enjoyed driving the 2022 S60 loaner for five calendar days that my car was kept by Kundert Volvo. Because of the unwarranted delays in servicing our automobile; a dilemma was created with the loaner as fuel was running low, necessitating a visit to the gasoline station. While the Kundert Volvo Loaner Agreement discouraged refueling, I believed that it was the correct thing to do. Upon tendering over the loaner, I casually mentioned that $20 was expended on gasoline with a reasonable expectation that an adjustment to the final repair bill would be cheerfully given, considering the circumstances.   Michael Mazzaro, Jr. of Kundert Volvo refused to consider that the 2022 S60 would run out of gas on the interstate, the New York Thruway, while returning home. Instead of acknowledging proper care of the loaner vehicle and personal safety issues, Michael Mazzaro, Jr. and Michael Mazzaro, Sr. (father/son relationship also manager/subordinate relationship at Kundert Volvo) adamantly refused to make an exception to the Kundert Loaner Car Agreement. This well-meaning customer was harassed and made to feel stupid for taking a stance against Kundert Volvo "house policy"; it should be mentioned that the owner, Bill Kundert, refused to intervene at any point of this imbroglio. For multiple reasons, a toxic state of affairs now exists between my household and Volvo, et al. I am grossly disappointed in the lack of oversight by Volvo regarding its franchisees. read more

He gave us an incredible price and was honest, quick to respond and very efficient. We spoke to 6-7 dealers in the tri state area and Nelson and Kundert had exceptional value and customer service. We purchased our Volvo XC 90 from the Kundert Volvo in Englewood NJ last year. Within 48 hours got stranded on the LIE as the car stalled. Had to get towed and was told that the car (Brand new) needed a new starter. Kundert took car of towing the car from Long Island to NJ, replaced the starter and they assured us it was taken care of. In the last year the car has not started over 10 times, leaving our family stranded on multiple occasions. We took it to the service center each time and they said it was fixed. The Kundert in Englewood closed so we took it to Kundert in Hasbrouck Heights most recently. Again, they told us it was fixed (needed a software update they said) and two days later it happened again. We have called the dealership 3 times in the last week with no response. Have described the situation to the receptionist who told us we would get a return call immediately. Has not happened - we are still waiting for a call back. Completely disappointed in the experience and the way we have been treated as customers. No response when the car sold us is clearly defective and they are not doing anything to resolve. At this point don't think I would ever buy a Volvo again nor recommend to anyone. read more

4 weeks ago I purchased a used 2009 Nissan Marano from this dealership. after having the vehicle for 4 days, I noticed the sunroof would not close all the way and would fall off track and left an opening that would allow rain to get in. I informed the dealership immediately and was told that I can bring the vehicle to their mechanic and have them look at it. the dealership mechanic informed us that the motor was no good. I am not one to write reviews and I try to avoid badmouthing an establishment even if they do not deliver on their promises. Kundert Volvo in Hasbrouck Heights has been so horrible that I feel it is a public service to write this review. I purchased my car from them and did not haggle with them on the price naively thinking that I would be well treated when I returned for service. I was so wrong. The service experience was a nightmare every single time. They left the amber leather interior filthy and put dark grease on the door panels that could never be removed. They attempted to sell me new brakes at only 10K miles and promised loaner vehicles that never showed up leaving me stranded at the dealer without a car. They performed unauthorized work and attempted to bill me for it. Finally they have refused to service the vehicle because they decided that I owe them money for their unauthorized repairs. My car is now serviced at Ramsey Volvo. I want to reiterate. I do not have time to just write a review. This is a warning and advice to other car shoppers. Do NOT make the mistake I did. STAY AWAY FROM KUNDERT and maybe from VOLVO period. Prestige BMW did a far better job with my BMW service. I cannot wait for my lease to be over. Finally, I noticed the dealer bothered to respond to the review on google reviews but did not care to reach out to me the customer. Stay away. I called Kundert Volvo on Monday, January 28 at 1:30PM to make an appointment for a Synthetic Oil change for a 2009 Volvo XC70. My appointment was confirmed for 8:30AM the next morning, Tuesday, January 29. Upon arrival, I couldn't find the Service Entrance and ended up in the Parts Department by mistake. I was asked to wait until someone could help me. After being pointed in the right direction, I arrived at the Service Department at 8:45AM. There were four (4) people in front of me waiting to drop off their cars. I waited in line for 30 miutes before speaking with a Service Representative to drop off my car. Mike, the service representative, greeted me kindly and asked for my name. I gave him my name and he couldn't find the paper work that is usually printed up and placed in a plastic sleeve. He looked for a while in the computer and said he found the appointment, but no paperwork. I explained that I was a new customer and just purchased the car a month ago. I said that I did a google search to find the nearest Volvo Service Center near me and found Kundert. I explained that I was there for a Synthetic Oil Change and also if the mechanic could pull the back wheel off and check to see if the brakes were placed on properly, as I heard a rattling noise and thought it may be the brakes. I filled out all of my personal information to be in the system for faster service for my next visit. I presented two (2) coupons from the website. One was for the $89.95 Synthetic Oil Change and the other was for 10% off of $100 or more for Service. Originally, when I called and made my appointment, I was told I could wait in the waiting room and that it would be an hour or so. I was running late and could not spend anymore time at the shop, so I asked to be called and I would return to retrieve the car. I received a call from Kundert at 3:43PM saying my car was ready and could come and pick it up. I got to the dealership at 4:30PM and was told that the brakes were fine and the noise was coming from the rear shocks, bushings and suspension. I was presented with the invoice and told where to pay. I never usually look at the bill and just pay it. However, I thought the price was a little low and wanted to see how the coupons worked. So, I looked over the bill. I was charged to $136.00 for the mechanic to pull the tire. That's not so bad, however, the $9.52 for "Customer Pay Environmental Fee for Repair Order" is confusing, as nothing was repaired. I didn't see the charge for the synthetic oil change. So, I returned to the Service counter and asked Mike if he forgot to put it on the bill. He called the Mechanic and then let me know that he accidently forgot to ask for the Synthetic Oil Change. He asked if I could leave the vehicle again and he would have it changed first thing in the morning. Unfortunately, I had to be in Scranton, PA at 9:00am. He did give my Synthetic Oil Change coupon back and said that I can use it on my next visit. I go back to the cashier to pay my bill and asked the cashier if the 10% coupon was used on the invoice of $145.52 plus tax for the mechanic to look at the brakes. It was not. So, I had to go back to the Service Counter and ask Mike to have the coupon applied, then return to the cashier to pay $140.66. I have a tough time accepting going to a Service Center for an oil change and paying money for not getting what I came in for. This morning, while in Scranton, I receive a text message from phone number 973-978-0892 from Kundert asking to call prior to answering a survey from Volvo to rectify any of my concerns. This text message is strange to me. I'm not sure of its purpose. It seems to acknowledge that there were some opportunities missed. It also places me in an awkward position. I certainly don't want to get anyone into trouble. Everyone has one of those days where nothing goes right. Hopefully, you find out went wrong, fix it and move forward. I've reached out to Bill, Kundert Volvo's Service Director at Hasbrouck Heights, but have not heard back from them. I'm just thankful that I was able to experience Kundert's Service on a very small scale and not for a major repair where competency and regard for the customer are definitely needed. read more

We recently bought our second XC90, this time from Gary Parker at Kundert Volvo in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ, trading in our Toyota Prius Hybrid. We weren't sure which model Volvo we wanted this time (tempted by that new v60!) and Gary was incredibly patient and encouraged us to try all of the one's we were considering. It happened to be two days before the end of the sales quarter. The reps at some of the other dealerships we visited were "strongly encouraging" us to close the sale that day and they would throw in all sorts of incentives. Gary on the other hand said: "don't worry about it, take your time, first find the vehicle that's right for your family and then we'll work out the best deal for you". In the end, not only did he wind up bringing in exactly the car we wanted from another dealership, but he did it at a better price, matching any of the programs being offered elsewhere in the market. I was there today as I've made an appointment to hopefully purchase the XC40. Van was certainly not enthused to see who he has been corresponding emails with. I don't know if it's because of how I look or if it's because I'm Asian that he thought I could not afford to purchase a Volvo but he did not even show me the car that I was interested in nor did he want to sit down and give me any figures. He seems to be stuck on the fact that the vehicle I want to trade my XC40 has negative equity so he didn't want to move forward with even running numbers with me. Al in the used car sales department was outstanding. We had a good idea about market prices and had done our research on what was in stock there and around the area. The car was as advertised, fairly described. The staff was professional and quick to do the paperwork. We needed a car essentially that day becuase my wife had a new job. We have bought 11 cars now over the past 20 years, only 3 of them new, so we had a good idea what to expect. Kundert exceeded our expectations. The car they sold me never worked. The batter was constantly draining and the car wouldn't start, including one time when my wife was in labor. After repeated trips to the shop and repeated assurances that the problem had been fixed, I finally had enough and asked them to pay me the value of the car in cash or to replace the car. They refused to pay cash (trade ins only, as if I ever want another Volvo again) and offered me one month's payment "for my inconvenience". Throughout the whole experience, the salesman who sold me the call was totally inappropriate (asking me "what up?" and calling me "bro"). The sales manager was either MIA or rude. When I told them their offer was unacceptable, they ignored me for over a week and eventually called to ask when I was picking up my old car from the service center. Never again. read more

I am a loyal Volvo customer and recently took my business to Kundert Volvo in Hasbrouck Heights looking for a new vehicle. From the moment I stepped into the showroom I was treated with the most outstanding service I have ever experienced in car buying. I was greeted at the door by a friendly receptionist who directed me to our salesman, Van Dixon.
