My sales person Jefferson spent at least 6 hours with me-answering my questions, figuring out numbers, letting me test drive 2 different cars in the rain I recommend asking for Jefferson by name if you go there to buy a car. This has been a truly terrible experience. I am a very longtime customer. I purchased a new car from this dealership in 2005, and I returned to purchase another new car recently. I put a $2,000 deposit on a car that I was told would be arriving at an indefinite date because "they do not know" when cars arrive. I needed a car immediately and I CLEARLY communicated that. I actually would have happily purchased one and driven it home that day, and I expressed that clearly as well. No worries though, I told them that I would imminently be traveling for awhile and would put the deposit down on a specific vehicle that was coming in, and then pick up the new car upon returning. I was definitely told that this was perfectly fine. While I was abroad, I received a call that the car that I had put a deposit on had arrived much earlier than expected. I received an email from the dealership that requested that I: "let them know when I came back from vacation to pick up the car." I even called to confirm this communication and was told that everything was fine. So I have that agreement in writing. Upon returning, I called to pick up the car and found out that they had sold it. (Twice.... they took my deposit and then sold the car I put a deposit on to someone else). The only offer was to tell me that "another car was coming in 3 weeks to 4 weeks" This travel time is not for a finished car in transit, it is a time frame for car in production, one that was clearly not even ordered in advance. They never even bothered to try to make sure that another car was immediately available for me upon my return. Of course I can get the refund back, - I put it on a credit card. If there were to be any issue I would just dispute the charge, but they have really left me in a terrible position because I need a reliable car immediately. THE WORST PART OF THIS EXPERIENCE, AND THE REASON THAT I AM WRITING THIS REVIEW, IS THAT THE MANAGER TOLD ME THAT IT WAS STANDARD PROTOCOL TO TAKE A DEPOSIT FROM ONE PERSON AND SELL THE CAR TO SOMEONE ELSE...... So there you have it, they do not respect deposits. He came up with a new story (that completely contradicted the conversation I had when I purchased the car, as well as the written email that I received), in which customers are supposed to pick up a new car within 24 hours, or....they go ahead and sell the car to someone else..... I THINK THAT IT IS IMPORTANT THAT POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS UNDERSTAND THAT THIS CLEARLY DEFEATS THE ENTIRE PURPOSE OF A DEPOSIT. I communicated clearly throughout the whole process, and I honored my end of the agreement. I definitely have written communication from them in agreement with me that states such, and yet.....here we are...in a world where a business can blatantly assume that they have the right to demand a deposit, and yet not respect the purpose of that deposit on the customers behalf. Lastly, for the ladies out there, I should have followed my initial instinct about this dealership, because the guys that were there when I came in ready to buy a car did not even bother to make any attempt to sell a car. Came here to get my company vehicle serviced under the Wheels MAP program (its a essentially a program that covers maintenance on your company car at designated locations). It's my first time working with the program so I called the Toyota customer service and they confirmed that yes they could help me out. I arrived and was helped by Victor who serviced my vehicle. He was professional, took note of my concerns, told me they'd run a diagnostic and follow up. I cannot speak towards purchasing a vehicle here or negotiating deals from the other negative reviews but I can say they run a tight ship in the service department. Victor did an excellent job keeping me in the loop on the status of my service by walking over to give me updates while I waited in the nearby waiting area. He even texted to me to keep me informed too. Little touches to maintain open communication are what make the customer service experience enjoyable for me, and Victor delivered! When all was said and done, I had a clear understanding of what work was needed and what I could hold off on. I'll gladly come back to this location to have more work done on my car. We were asking about RAV4 2023z He said he didn't have it . So we requested to see Highlander. He didn't explain anything nor approach us for asking do you have any question. I was contacted by this dealership after originally inquiring about a specific vehicle on the Toyota website. Matt in the BDC department at the dealership assured me that they had the model in stock and I would be able to test drive it. As a result, I scheduled a test drive despite noticing that nothing showed up in their online inventory. Sure enough, when I arrived and was shuffled off to a salesperson there was no vehicle available. Clearly I was mislead and didn't even get an apology for wasting my time. The sales manager blamed me for asking them to take my lease car instead of returning it to Toyota financial services in which they will charge me fees. Went in for Service for my Highlander, Mark Simpson, the Service tech, gave me the run down on what needed to be serviced. Me being the overly analytical person asked about every detail and option about what and why things needed to be done. I asked to look at the parts that needed replacement, wear and tear were evident. All the necessary tests and results were shown to me. I even did my research. *(In the past, I've dealt with irresponsible auto Service, so am always very skeptical, especially for a vehicle that transports my family). I could say the staff: Mark Simpson, Peter, David, and Victor are honest and patient. They always answer your inquiries and double check with the technicians if they do not know. Anyway, took a 600 mile trip the following day and the vehicle handled extremely well in the 36 inches of snow that dropped during our travel. If I didn't get the proper maintenance, I would have had a nightmare of a week. read more

Awful experience from the start, I was mislead, strung along, and ignored. I Contacted this dealership on Monday to inquire about a vehicle. They said they had it and I could purchase it. After a lot of of BS run around I decided to contact Bob, sales manager directly. He discussed pricing, we agreed on pricing and then he handed me off to his sales agent Steven who was very unresponsive and would only respond to me once a day by email and if I was lucky maybe once or twice by text message. Otherwise he ignored my emails and texts and most importantly my requests for the sales offer or purchase agreement which would have allowed us to secure the purchase of the vehicle. Until on the third day, this morning, he finally emails me and to tell me "sorry you weren't fast enough we sold the car to someone else." Telling me that I need to be faster at communicating. When it was his that refused to respond to my email and text messages. What a coincidence that The vehicle was sold out from under us after I challenged a discrepancy In their sales practice. I contacted the attorney general consumer affairs department and verified that this dealership should not be collecting registration fees or other associated document fees for vehicles being registered in Oregon. this dealership does not post sale prices or openly disclose their marketed adjusted value of the vehicle. they are completely outdated by not using the modern online purchase platforms of smart path or similar platforms that streamline and expedite the new vehicle purchase processes. First off I never like to bash anyone, but this place makes it nearly impossible. Managers are liars, disrespectful and two-faced. When the situation shows adversity, what do they do? They get all fussy and walk away. Now what type of manager does that? A deal was agreed upon with manager, he then walks away and comes back over and says no deal..wt? That's how you do business? All for the better though. Car buying is never a smooth, seem less transaction, but when you are shelling out $30k + for a car the least they can do is show the tiniest bit of respect and not penny pinch you at every corner. I only came here for a recall on my Toyota. They fixed the recall issue and upon check out informed me my rear brakes only had a few millimeters left before I needed new ones. I told them I would make note of it, and left. I then contacted my mechanic who owns his own shop about my supposed brake issue. Low and behold, not only were my rear brakes like new, it was obvious the dealership had never removed the tires to check the rear brakes in the first place. This dealership is typical...bunch of crooks...trying to scam you out of your hard earned money. Nowadays, cars are made exceptionally well, especially Toyotas. Therefore, people purchase new cars less often. Hence, dealerships make their money by "fixing" things wrong with your cars. They treat their customers like sheep, herding them from one supposed necessary repair to another. My advice, if you need your car repaired, find a great mechanic by word of mouth...ask a friend, neighbor or relative. Or if you are a DIY, check out "YouTube" and find a DIY repair for your car by YouTubers like "Chris Fix" or "Scotty Kilmer." I've saved lots of money by doing minor repairs myself and it really adds up in the long run. read more

Had a very unpleasant experience with a parts employee. Ordered shocks after providing my vin. Wrong parts came in. He gave me an issue returning them. Then when I requested the correct parts but learned that the price was 3 times of the original purchase. I told him to hold off, so I can get some more money saved up. When I returned to order the correct parts, I was shamed and doubted in my ability to pay for the new parts, and asked: "it's a yes or no question" was treated very disrespectfully. Saw a car on the lot that I liked, gave them a best and final offer which was only $200 away from their asking price and the salesman and manager told me to take a walk. They let me walk out of the door for $200!!!!!!!!!!!! They told me they don't negotiate and would rather have the car sit on their lot than come down $200!!!!! I never heard of anything like that!!!!! So keep that in mind if you're thinking about going to car shop at Parkway Toyota!!! I was interested in a vehicle that this dealership had in stock and put a deposit on it. Scheduled an appointment and came in to test drive. The positives..... Showroom was beautiful and everything "seemed" pretty well organized. Test drive was good. Interactions with the gentlemen that introduced themselves were fine. Came back from the test drive and told the GM that I liked the car but there was another car that I wanted to look at also. GM says something to the effect of "Oh...when you put a deposit on a vehicle, it means you're going to buy it." I responded that I explained to a woman named Jamilla when I gave the credit card to her that I was test driving another car that same day but I wanted to put a deposit on this particular model because it was one that I was leaning toward and didn't want to make the 90 mile trip and find out that it was sold. GM says "That's not the way it works" or something along those lines. He said you can go look at the other cars, but I have 5 leads that are also interested in buying it. I told him that was fine. It was just an unpleasant experience with the GM and the way they conduct business in that manner was very disappointing. On a side note, I found out that they took my credit card info by phone and never charged me for the deposit. That seemed very sketchy to me. read more

We had a terrible experience with Parkway Toyota service Department. Dropped the car (2018 Land Cruiser 50K miles) to change the oil. They had some suggestion to replace a few more things so we decided to replace a serpentine belt (service cost us $360). We picked up the car, drove home (3 min drive). Parked the car turned off the engine. After 10 min we decided to do some errands, hopped back in the car, and the car as dead. There was no power at all! We had to jump the car with our second car and drove back to Toyota (the engine light was now on). Toyota checked the car again and said the battery needed to be replaced---but earlier the battery check showed the battery was fine --- 78% (they did a test and showed us). A new test now showed our battery was at 15%. What happened, that suddenly battery went from 78% to 15%??? They said we need to replace the battery, which cost us $160. I understand battery was 5 years old and would soon need to be replaced. But Toyota had to be responsible for draining the battery. read more

I went to this dealership to test drive a used Toyota Corolla. Nelson, my sales representative, was lovely and treated me very well. Unfortunately, when we could not agree on a price, he called his manager over and it went downhill from there. I found the manager's entire tone and desire to speak over me and "mansplain" everything very off-putting. When I tried to negotiate the price, he mansplained that they do not negotiate and no one does anymore. I don't think so. Negotiating when purchasing a car is standard and I refuse to let any manager gaslight me that it is not. Also, they listed the car as "certified" on their website, and then informed me onsite that it was not certified and I had to purchase the certification package. When I explained this was false advertising, the manager said that he saw my point but it was just how it was done. I believe the practice of listing a car as certified at a certain price and then informing the customer when they arrive they will have to pay additional funds for certification is deceptive and I will be filing a complaint about this with the BBB. Of course, I will never consider purchasing a car from Parkway Toyota ever again which is a shame. A week later, I purchased a used Corolla from Automania in Queens. They negotiated with me and we agreed upon a price and I am very happy so I would suggest you go there instead of here. read more

The service manager was nasty and uncaring, the place has no integrity or respect. Also every time we got an oil change there the wait time would be 2 hours. For a damn oil change. Unbelievable. I have such a bad taste in my mouth of this dealership that i waited to write this post until I had no other actions with them for fear of retaliation of this review. If I could give zero or five negative stars here I would. Having purchased my fourth car, this was the worst dealership experience ever. It started with receiving a higher price quote for a car compared to what was listed on the internet and then be accused of being dishonest by not mentioning i saw the price on the internet (why would that matter). I then received a callback from a different internet sales person to negotiate an offer. After agreeing to a price over the phone I said I would be driving 2.5 hrs from my home in CT to pickup the car on Saturday at 3pm. They said they would have me in and out in within an hr. Fast forward to Saturday at 3pm, I showed up pretty much on time. At approximately 5:00pm I started signing paperwork. I was told I had to wait because contracting was behind because of a huge sale day they were having. While waiting I met with the internet sales person that agreed to my offer. She was friendly and courteous She said I was getting a great deal (this is important note). At 5:00pm when I received the paperwork I saw the price of the vehicle was $4000 more than what I agreed to pay. When I said this is not the right price I asked for the internet sales person, and they told me she wasn't available. All of a sudden she was not available, how coincident. As you might imagine I was furious now having spent two hours at the dealership and now being asked to pay more for the car. After 30 minutes of refusing to sign the contract, the general manager came into the cubicle. Before coming into the cubicle, he was in the cubicle next door where the customer there was also having a very bad experience with the dealership, so much so she was demanding her trade in car back. I had to discuss with him for another 20 minutes before he finally caved and agreed to sell the car at the price I offered. Approximately half an hour later I was done signing documents. It is now about 6pm. Around this time I noticed the internet sales person back in the office, what a coincidence. It is now 6pm but i still can't leave with the car because financing has not yet approved the purchase. I have credit fraud protection, so I have to wait for Toyota Financing Services to call me and verify my purchase. The dealership closes at 7pm so I am getting nervous that the call won't happen in time. While I'm nervous, the dealership employees are not concerned and keep telling me it should all be fine before the dealership closes. At 6:50pm I finally get the call. At 7:00pm the computer system is still showing my status as pending approval. The dealership is now closing up. My sales agent expresses a sorry for inconvenience but they can't give me the keys. I JUST SPENT 4 HOURS AND DO NOT HAVE KEYS IN MY HAND. I tell them that I drove down in a one way rental car that I have to drop off or pay $300 dollars if I drive it back home. They recommend an option to spend the night in a hotel in town to see if the status changes to approval the next morning, even though the dealership is closed on Sunday. I am so livid and upset with the outcome of this that I tell my wife I'm going to stay in town on the off chance they give me the keys the next day. the next day, Sunday, the system still shows me as pending approval at noon. the sales agent tells me he doesn't think status will change until Monday. I call my wife and tell her she will have to drive down with our 2 year old and pick me up. Fast forward to Monday, 9:30am, and I get a call from the dealership telling me my status is now approved. Long story short, I am finally able to pick up the car but when I return home I find an empty bag of beef jerky in the center console. While at the dealership to pick up the car I received no apologies or attempt to remedy the experience. Still to this day, no outreach by them. Couldn't believe I could buy a car in one day, but it happened! I worked with Mohammad, Jenny and Bob. They were all great. No pressure. No hard sells. I drove away the same day with a car that I love. Inventories are low right now so be patient. If you see a model you like, consider buying it. The dealership is right by the GWB. When an idiot hit my brand-new limited edition 4Runner and the local tow company wanted to do the body work, I said NO WAY and called Parkway. Jim arranged to get my car THAT DAY and worked with me to get original Toyota parts for my baby. Sure, it took 2 months given the current pandemic-related delays of parts and labor shortages, but for a fantastic-quality vehicle that I expect to have for at least 10+ years, it was just a blink of time in the big picture. I dealt with Jim (or another fantastic employee, James) nearly every other day who gave me straight-talk updates. I have made 2 very smart decisions: Purchasing a Toyota, for the first time (Corolla), and purchasing it at Parkway Toyota. I am 100% happy with my experience purchasing, and financing, the Corolla from Parkway. Highly professional staff, organized, honest, transparent, price-competitive, and a low-key, no stress, non-pressure environment. My salesperson Irving Guzman was excellent in helping me find the exact car and he was very professional and efficient in organizing the different pieces to the puzzle, such as insurance, registration, temporary plates, inspection sticker, and even setting me up with the Toyota app and the infotainment system. A few days later, Irving contacted me for permanent plates and they were quickly installed. So easy! The sales managers were also very professional and un-stressful. Definitely not the old stereotype of a car dealership. This dealership operates like a fine watch. Jenny in the finance department was also extremely professional and transparent, and helpful in arranging the best financing plan for me. I was Looking for some parts needed Toyota Sienna. Doing my own dodiligence I had all the part numbers and knew exactly what I needed. I had called a couple different dealerships, looking for them and was quoted me the same amount of $18 +tax including a part that's on backorder for an undisclosed amount of time which is perfectly fine. I placed an order for what they had in stock and they said come back the next day. As they might be busy to grab them on a same day walk in which was fine. So to my supervisor when I went to purchase the available parts today they had total $24 for less parts then what other dealerships quoted me of cost of parts plus tax. Im pretty sure 18$ + tax doesn't add up 24$. Either way will never be coming back here a again. Sad that the parts department is trying to nickel and dime extras out of people. More disappointing is just how shitty customer service is these days. Guess best lesson learned is dont go to this dealership for anything. Go somewhere else. I know i cant be the only one. Went to this dealership this afternoon with my son to get his first car as a Toyota but had a terrible experience. They first asked us if we had an appointment and when we said no, one of the agents asked us to walk to the lot ourselves and figure out what we wanted to buy, click a photo and come back to him to show him the lot no. We felt he was doing us a favor by letting us buy a car. He could have given us an appointment or shown us the decency to walk the lot with us. Anyways after our walk around the lot, he tried to convince us to buy a new or leased car and not the preowned we were looking for. Then walked off when we showed no interest. Then another agent comes up to us and interrogates on why we were there, prompting us to leave. If this dealership is doing so well to treat customers so poorly, good luck to them.
