This is one of the best bubble tea spots in Novi. They're a chain so you may have seen another location around. The prices here are reasonable and they have lots of choices. The staff here are very helpful as well. I remember once I came in and a woman (who I assume has never had bubble tea ) was having the hardest time ordering , but they helped her and were very patient and kind about it. I'm glad they did as I was in a rush! You really can't go wrong with getting the Milk tea but my favorite item here is the Strawberry Lemonade with the Aloe Vera jelly. To err is human and understandable but it's how you treat your customers after they spend almost $8 on a drink that isn't satisfactory. I know this will not make a difference to them but I will NEVER spend another cent on this franchise location because of the non existent customer service from poor management that was on the phone communicating to the pugnacious contentious female employee behind the counter. No need to go into lengthy details other than an $8 drink for a customer that has an average food cost of 65c for the restaurant with high profit margins means that you should make an effort to take care of your customer! Yes, I'm an owner in the food service industry with multiple locations and over 300 employees. Shocking that management's policy is not to immediately offer to replace a drink with a food cost of only 65c to them, to please and retain their customer loyalty especially when said drink has a weird chemical taste. When you knowingly pay almost $8 for a product that costs 65c (not including labor etc) you have to leave feeling gratified by both the product purchased and service experience. I am starting to think Kung Fu Tea is the best bubble tea in the area. I ordered the Cocoa Cream milk tea. Now I must preface that I really don't like the tapioca boba at all, but I heard about the special way Kung Fu prepares their boba, and how fresh and good is tastes! They are completely correct! While I still don't love boba, this was the most incredible tasting boba I have ever had anywhere! It was so flavorful and chewy, I really enjoyed it. The cocoa cream was also not my favorite, but it was not due to the drink not being great, but more of my personal taste. It was refreshing and chocolatey. Besides the boba I also added beans which I love. It think I would order something new next time. I knew it was a popular drink, so I wanted to try it. And for those who like this flavor, I would highly recommend it. One child got the strawberry lemonade. I did not try it, but she enjoyed it, and it smelled nice a fruity. The other child got my taro slush (my actual favorite flavor as well) with Oreo, beans, and pudding. Now that one was amazing!!!! I love the combo of cookies and beans, as unusual as that seems. Plus the pudding which I was told was an egg custard, but so nice and added a new dimension. The staff was friendly. I love the way the machines shake the teas. The whole set up is fun and inviting. There are so many flavors and combinations, it makes it hard to decide what order since I love trying new flavors (even if they are not my favorites). This is a fun place. Unfortunately they did not have any of their macarons. I am not sure when they ran out, or when they are getting more. I believe the Rochester location had them when I went last week. A couple other things, I still think this place is a bit pricey and I wish they had more popping bubble flavor options, for now it looks like they have only three. But I like how you can control the ice and the sugar in each drink. There was a nice steady number of people coming in and out getting teas. This location has been a few things, but this seems to be the most successful concept. I really hope they are here to stay! So I had read a while back that Kung Fu Tea was expanding to Novi (Sterling Heights was the first location in the metro Detroit area), but I didn't realize until today that it was in the same plaza as Emagine ... until four girls sitting next to me at the movies all had smuggled in some KFT, haha! I was jealous and decided to check it out after the movie. It's Friday night during Thanksgiving weekend so the place was packed. I had to wait a long time at the counter because the counter employee was packaging macarons or something like that, but she apologized for the wait. I ordered a medium Taro milk tea with lychee jellies (called nata jelly there, I think?) and regular sugar / ice. My order came out fairly quickly and was tasty. A medium bubble tea with jellies will cost you around $4.77, which is a treat for me but on par with others in the area. Interior looked nice and I saw they had games (board games, etc.) like the SH location does. Great location in Fountain Walk so I'll be back when I am in the area or seeing a movie at Emagine Novi. read more

Finally!!! Real bubble tea! The boba drought is over. This place is legit. A true test of the bubble tea is the milk tea, and this place serves the real thing. The tapioca is perfectly chewy and doesn't stick. And their other flavors are lots of fun. My new favorite has to be the grapefruit green tea. Moving to MI I had to make some food sacrifices and boba was one of them so I am ecstatic that Kung Fu tea has opened. The closest one was in Madison Heights and that means at least a 40minute drive and there's no way I'm making the drive down there for just boba on a week day. They opened in May and I stumbled upon this location while driving through their parking lot to pick up some lunch. I'm so glad I did or I probably wouldn't have discovered you guys for awhile. The service runs slow, and the flow of the seats and counter is not designed well so the line goes outside. The interior has nice colors and some interesting seating. We ordered the lychee punch with aloe jelly, matcha milk cap, wow milk and milk bean, mango slush, Oreo slush, strawberry milk slush, and KF honey tea. Our drinks were about $4-$6 each, varying depending on add ons. We ordered 10 drinks and they made it through quick. The service was very friendly and had high energy. read more

Fung Fu Tea uses taro syrup which robbed the familiar creaminess of my favorite boba drink. So atmosphere... The weekends are crammed packed and it's incredibly loud. Not your ideal study spot. I went again on a weeknight and there was no one there! Since I wasn't so pleased with my initial visit, I expressed what I was looking for and the boba tea barista suggested a few items but I settled on an oolong milk tea with boba with 50% sugar. It was definitely compareable to my usual milk tea but it's got a slight bitterness or tanic taste I look for in strong black teas. The bobas were delicately soft, chewy and had a light honey finish. I would suggest this as your first drink if you've never tried it. It was the perfect...snack drink for shopping at DSW and Nordstrom Rack. :) I'll be back. I don't know how this place has so few reviews, they get hundreds of customers on the weekends (even in the span of time I'm there). I've been here dozens of times since they opened, everything is great, app has rewards, sugar options, what could be better? Oh wait - everything is LACTAID for us poor folks with the mutation (or who drank too much milk tea when we were younger and ran out of lactase...) Best boba place in the area that isn't a several hour drive. Sesame matcha is ridiculously flavorful, wintermelon MT, taro, oolong are all hits. Pro-tip is to get their tea punch or just plain teas (like Lychee, Mango, etc.) and get a milk cap - it's like a milk tea except for flavors you usually don't find a MT version.
