I've come to KFT Reston a couple of times since it opened and it's gotten much smoother since opening week. Service is prompt and polite. The location at Hunters Woods Village Center is convenient for me when I'm at work and when I need to make a quick trip to Safeway. The store itself is pretty spacious, not the biggest KFT I've been to but not the smallest either! I almost always get the yogurt grapefruit, 50% sugar, no/less ice and nata jelly. It's delicious! Multiple visits and the bubbles taste stale/dry. Disappointed. The tea otherwise tastes as expected.

First, my drink was half water half bubbles. The employees didn't seem like they knew what they were doing, and spoke with a sort of uncertainty. The drinks were genuinely horrible, and were missing about 1/4 of its contents. Save yourself some money, do NOT get ur drinks from here. read more

I have never experienced this kind of poor customer service in my life. I went to KF tea in Reston paid for my drinks and as I was leaving my drinks fell on the floor and splattered everywhere. Any other time this has happened to be, especially inside the store I was given a new drink right away. These people charged me in full for a second set of drinks and didn't even offer a discount let alone not charge me at all. Never in my life have I experienced that....when I asked them, they said it was against their policy. Great, customer service is against your policy?... good to know since I won't be going back to that location unless they get some new people with manners to work there in Reston location!!!! read more

I've been to this KFT location many times. I go to KFT so often, that I have a yellow belt status on the app. The last time I went to this location, I ordered a milk green tea. When I got home, I discovered that they made the wrong drink. I double checked that the label on the drink was in fact my name and a milk green tea. The drink that was actually made was darker in color (than a standard milk green tea) and had a different flavor, probably taro. I called about this matter and they said they would refund the drink. No refund hit my account. The next day, I went by the store because I wanted another drink and I told them about the issue again. They took down my name and the order number and said they would call me after looking into it. I never received a call from them nor did I receive a refund. I will not be going back to this KFT location. read more

I've been a fan of Kung Fu Tea for a while and been trying to go to every location I can just to get my dose of bubble tea. However, I am not a fan of this particular location. I ordered a couple of drinks including a Taro Slush with NO sugar because I know it is probably one of the sweetest drinks at KFT. When I tasted the drink, it was way TOO sweet it was unbearable. It tasted as if they added the regular amount of sugar and just doubled it. The service was alright but it would've been nice to at least see a smile. I'm still going to get KFT but probably not from this location. read more

This is one of my favorite locations, probably because it's walking distance from my house! In all seriousness, the workers are young but helpful and it's never too crowded. They have lots of board games and it's a relaxing place to catch up with friends and play some games. Also, for some reason, I feel like the boba are cooked really well here, more so than other KFT locations. Perfectly sweet and chewy, they have that wonderful qq texture! My favorite drink to get is oolong milk tea or wintermelon. I just tried the "new" rosehip milk tea and I do not recommend... tastes way too artificial, and not even of rose. My fave bubble tea place! My entire family is addicted to Kung fu! My all time drink is honey olong tea. I add pudding to it at times, but the tea is great just by itself. Things that stood out: consistently great service (thank you Jake for fixing my drink even though I was the one who made the mistake during ordering!), wifi username/password clearly presented by the cash register, clean and spacious seating area. For those unfamiliar, it's a drink shop that allows you to customize your tea (or a few kinds of coffee), it almost any iced combination you can come up with. There are also several slush combos. The customization combos are endless: Kinds of teas (black, oolong, green); Types of flavors (honey, grapefruit, orange, peach, pomolo, and MANY more etc); Sugar level sweetness (none, little 30%, half 50%, less 70%, regular 100% or extra 120%) Ice level Milk tea add-ins Topping add-ins like bubbles (tapioca - a bit chewy for those unfamiliar), popping bubbles (flavored, but dissolve instantly after the pop), Oreo, pudding, nata jelly, herbal jelly, and others. We're from Toronto where we feel was home to bubble tea, so we had been having this for years before we could find it in the States. Drinks were basic - nothing amazing. Prices - meh. Service at both places was annoying. They're have too many damn people going back and forth, we witnessed at BOTH places (Georgetown AND at the Towne Centre) employees double making orders, missing orders, the order takers not paying attention to the customer because they're rushing the patrons through their order, then visibly getting annoyed if a customer asks more questions than they're 'allowed'. Twice in a week - they gave one of our orders away to someone and the second time ( location in GT) tried to accuse us of already picking it up. so they almost refused to make what they gave away again. I've gone to many KFTs in the area. Today I went to the one in Reston and ordered a Matcha Red Bean slush with less ice. The kid at the register said no, he could not do that. He offered to put water in it to make it thinner. What??? I don't want it watered down. I want it more flavorful. How hard is it to put a few less ice cubes in the blender? I really like the location, and everyone was very friendly especially the girl who made my drink name Sofia. I got a caramel macchiato slushy and usually, when I order a slushy it's usually very hard to slurp down, but she made it just right. It wasn't too watery or too icy. Boba can come out too soft and chewy or too hard, but this place has their process down! I got the cocoa cream wow. The amount of chocolate in it compared to other locations is great. But the big part of it is the brown sugar boba. That is where this location fails. It's what makes the drink special compared to just chocolate "milk" with bubbles. It adds a distinct sweet touch to it. Excited to see that a KFT opened up in Reston, we decided to venture in and found there to be a long line (as usual in all the KFT's in the area). Midst the long lines, this location had an exceptionally long wait but I do understand that they are still in the training stages and working things out. I got the Oreo milk tea which is my go drink at all the locations but the one I got here did not taste like the other ones I have tried. There was maybe three pieces of Oreo in the entire drink and it was not filled up to the top. For now, I will be going to the other locations and hopefully in the next few months, I will be returning with hopes that the drinks here are of better quality. One thing I've noticed here is that they have lactose milk, which I have not seen at the other stores! read more

My least favorite KFT and that's disappointing because this location is the closest to my home. The powder they use to make the milk here is watery and gross tasting. Normally using the heat sealed lids, they fill the cup to the brim. Here they filled both drinks I ordered to about 85%. The Oreo Milk Tea at the Tyson's Corner is much more "Oreo-y". Nice place to get smoothies and bubble tea. The service is quick and it is in a convenient place 5 mintue drive from my place. A bubble tea place with belgian waffles ... whatt? Even though I'm not a big bubble tea drinker anymore, I can see myself coming to this place pretty often. The Kung Fu tea chain has pretty decent bubble tea offerings. I usually like getting their pomelo tea with bubbles. This location is ok with that tea, but sometimes the pomelo bits get really big and end up clogging the straw, which can be annoying. The bubbles are ok on consistency and generally have a good amount of chew. The belgian waffles aren't made when you order but they are heated up and sprinkled with syrup and cinnamon, and tasted pretty decent. The dough was a bit denser than your typical waffle, which is what I prefer. They said they're the only location (or at least one of the few) that offer the waffle, so I can see myself going back just for that. read more
