Taro Milk Tea and Oolong Milk Tea

When I am around the West Hartford and need a Boba Fix, Kung fu tea is my go to! The staff is always friendly and patient. The place is always clean. My go to is taro milk tea and it's always made correctly. The boba tapioca balls alwsy soft and chewy. There was one day I wanted something different and ask the cashier for suggestion. she suggested the rosehip lemonade and it just want I wanted. It was sweet and tart, perfect summer drink to walk around and browse West Hartford Center.

It's finally nice to get Kung Fu Tea nearby not having to go to Boston or NY to get some! The ordering process was quick and easy but there was a bit of a wait to get our drinks because they only have 3 shakers and it was quite but at the time. Because the store is still new I couldn't find their location through the app and I couldn't get the rewards and promotions. Hopefully that'll register soon. I definitely recommend Taro and add some milk cap options too!

The store is nicely decorated and service was pretty quick. Easy to read menu which plenty of drinks to choose from. Drinks are easy to customize as well. I ordered the sesame matcha which had great black sesame and matcha flavor! I have had Kung Fu Tea in Boston and NYC before, it's great that it is now available for people in the area to try!

KF tea, 70% sugar, added tapioca (boba). Perfect evening!

So I have been a Kung Fu Tea fanatic for around 10 years. There weren't any locations close to me so I always had to get it in big cities and college towns. Recently, during my graduate studies at UConn we got a Whale Tea (see my review on that) and I love it but was wondering how much my Kung fu tea love was wavering since I haven't had it in nearly 2 years. Finally, I was able to try this new(ish?) location in West Hartford! Here is my unabridged opinion: -Kung Fu tea is 100%, no questions asked, absolute reigning champ of the best milk tea in all the land. It's always on point. Immaculate. Amazing. The Kung Fu milk tea is where it's at. I haven't had it in so long and forgot how pure the flavor was. I will be getting it every time I'm in WeHa. -The boba is...good. It's not the best. It's better than a lot I've had but not the best. I still think Whale Tea boba reigns supreme (see my review of their Storrs location). Moving forward, I think I will get just a classic KF tea without the boba. The tea is amazing enough on its own, it's doesn't need the boba. I will definitely be returning to this and other Kung Fu tea locations!

If you look at the Kung Fu Tea app, you'll see I've been ordering from KFT since college. When I heard they were opening (finally) in CT and in West Hartford specifically, I knew I'd end up here a lot. My go to is the honey oolong milk tea with boba. Appreciate they can adjust to less sweet and less ice since that's exactly how I like it. My husbands go to's are lychee punch with Crystal boba and the mango green tea with Crystal boba. There's always something new to try and a promotional cup to make things fun. Whether it was the minions and currently (June 2023) it's Pokémon Go, there's always something going on to add to the experience. By downloading the app there's plenty of rewards to collect and deals that can be happening without us knowing. Love Kung Fu tea no matter where I go and happy it's here in West Hartford!

I am seriously addicted to Kung Fu Tea's Oreo Wow Milk Tea. Oreo pieces with warm boba... YUM!!! I crave it every weekend and could probably drink it for the rest of my life and never get sick of it. I have a soy allergy and a lactose intolerance, so I am THRILLED that Kung Fu Tea has their "Milkstrike" collection with Lactaid and WOW bubbles. Their menu is huge and offers every option you could want. The staff at the West Hartford location are super friendly. They always offer their favorite suggestions and are patient as we struggle to make our decision. Their cafe is small, but clean and offers plenty of seating along the wall. It's our new favorite place to for Bubble Tea and the perfect place to meet friends before or after dinner.

I really love bubble tea, and had high hopes for Kung Fu Tea. Unfortunately, this place was just okay. The menu seemed to have a lot going on - I wish the drinks had better descriptions of exactly what they were. I played it safe and ordered the Thai Milk Tea with boba and a milk cap. The drink wasn't terrible, but the flavor just didn't do it for me - I think the milk cap was the worst part...it was too salty for my liking. I did think the overall atmosphere of the shop was fun - the machines that shake the drinks was entertaining since I've never seen it before and the staff was friendly. However, I'd rather try a different bubble tea spot if I'm in the area.

I have been to Kung Fu Tea in NYC, and loved it. Happy to see them in West Hartford. I loved their bubbles. It had a nice consistency, which is generally not seen in Hartford. Thai milk tea was my favorite item. Cocoa cream wow was good, but I think the ingredients didn't mix uniformly.

    More on the menu.

King Fu Tea opened just a few weeks ago in West Hartford and I've been wanting to try them. I've visited one of their other location in New York previously, but honestly couldn't remember how I liked it. The store is very crisp and inviting inside, there are a few high tops for sitting inside, or some outdoor tables. There is a lot to choose from on the menu, milk teas, and fruit teas, and other teas that might have ice cream as the base. They also had a special promotion for their grand opening. Buy one get one free on select teas. This ended up being very complicated, and cost the same as not using the promotion. I was very confused. I got the Winter Melon tea with tapioca. It was very refreshing and sweet. They were pretty generous with their serving of tapioca. I continued chewing on the tapioca long after the tea was gone. This is a nice place to get your bubble tea, I can't see myself going here too often because of how sugary these things are. Their pricing system is also a bit sneaky.

The wait is finally over!!!!! I am so happy to have a place to get amazing bubble tea. If you know me you would know that I love bubble tea before most places or people even knew about what bubble. I no longer have to drive a couple of hours to get bubble tea. The place in west Hartford is so new and very clean. The employees are very nice and helpful when you have no clue on what to get. Only because you want it all. Lol. I can't wait until my next day off so I can order my next boba tea fix. I got two KF milk tea for my husband and I. It taste so yummy. If you have not had or ever heard of bubble tea. Now you heard and it's time to expand your taste buds to this amazing Asian drink. I guarantee that you will not be disappointed. And if you were please don't be too mad. The employee probably just had a bad da

This was my first time visiting Kung Fu Tea. They have an extensive menu that includes classic teas, milk teas, milk strikes, punches, slushes, and espressos. They also offer a huge variety of toppings like popping bubbles, jelly, bean, pudding, and milk caps, with so many choices and combinations that are available you can make the drink of your dreams. It was also very cool to watch the teas being prepared. Went with a large taro milk tea with boba, no ice, and light sugar. It was very good. I recommend downloading the app and ordering in advance because they were incredibly busy. There is some seating available to sit and enjoy your tea.

I'm so happy this is nearby! I got the taro milk tea with boba, and it was really flavorful. The boba were perfectly chewy and soft and had a nice subtle sweetness to them. The service was also super speedy and the store was super clean and spacious. They also have a rewards program you can join by downloading the app which may be worth it if you have bubble tea frequently! I can't wait to go back and try more flavors!

I've tried many boba/bubble tea places and I always seem to go back to this location! Usually I would travel all the way to Boston or NY but they've finally opened one in CT! BEST BOBA EVER YOU NEED TO TRY IT!

Good for basic milk teas, but the Taro flavor doesn't taste like Taro at all. More like an overly sweet vanilla? Honey tea seemed fine!

I'm never disappointed. They make it right in front of you and hey, it's healthy. $7-10 for a smoothie spending on the size. $9 for a bowl. Lots of options and add ins: protein, fat burner, immunity, whatever you need! Varsha and her family are so nice. They remember names and faces and are very polite. Since I knew I would be waiting, I politely asked if I could use the restroom. I was told no. I initially assumed there had been a misunderstanding, so I explained that I wasn't a random passerby looking for a public restroom. I was there to pick up an active DoorDash order and would be waiting while they finished preparing it. Unlike employees who have a workplace with designated break areas and restroom access, delivery drivers spend their entire workday on the road. We don't have a home base to return to between orders. Because of that, we often rely on the basic courtesy of restaurants and businesses we partner with while conducting pickups and deliveries. Most businesses understand this and treat drivers respectfully. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. What happened next was what bothered me most. Rather than simply explaining their policy and treating me with basic courtesy, the employees largely stopped engaging with me altogether. They avoided eye contact, ignored my attempts to communicate, and acted as though I wasn't standing there. It was an incredibly dehumanizing experience. After waiting several more minutes, I said, "I could have been done by now." The only response I received was, "It's not for the public." I again explained that I was there for an active pickup and was waiting on an order that still wasn't ready. Once again, I was met with silence. To be clear, I completely understand that businesses located on busy commercial streets cannot allow every random person who walks in off the street to use their restroom. That's not what this situation was. I was there performing a service directly connected to their business. DoorDash drivers are part of the fulfillment process that allows restaurants to participate in DoorDash, reach additional customers, and generate revenue from delivery orders. I wasn't asking for special treatment--just the basic courtesy of using the restroom while waiting on an order that they were still preparing. What makes this even more frustrating is that if the order had been ready when I arrived, I would have already been gone. The only reason I was standing there waiting was because of the restaurant's delay. At that point, I decided to unassign myself from the order, even though it was a high-paying delivery. If a business is unwilling to show basic respect to the drivers helping deliver its orders, then it can find someone else to complete those deliveries. I will also be reporting this experience to DoorDash so they are aware of how drivers are being treated at this location. To fellow Dashers: I strongly encourage you to decline orders from this establishment and spend your time supporting businesses that treat delivery drivers with professionalism and basic human dignity. To potential customers: please consider whether this is the kind of business you want to support. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect, including the people helping get your food to your door.

Two things struck me right away when I walked into Liquid Nirvana. The first was their humongous menu board offering dozens of amazing juices, boosts, bites, bowls, smoothie bowls, granola, seasonals and specials. You might be well served to check out their menu before you visit, because reading everything will take you a while. The other feature that jumped out at me was the large number of games and kid-friendly things everywhere - a pint-sized blackboard easel with chalk and pastels, table sized tic tac toe boards, a full-sized Connect Four game, a kiddie sized basketball hoop, and a Skee ball game. If you didn't know you were in a juice and smoothie bar, you might think you were in a daycare center! The interior is adorable! Plenty of bright popping color, interesting artwork, gorgeous color art on their storefront glass, Bric a Brac décor, and three small tables that can seat a total of nine customers. Everything here is made fresh to order for natural ingredients -yogurt, milks, fruits, and vegetables. No powdered scoops of anything. They have a sign on the wall letting you know that "since we make everything from scratch, your order may take 10-1 minutes to make". Well, let me tell ya that every second of our wait was worth it. We bought a medium sized Almond Joy Nirvana Smoothie ($9) with coconut, honey milk, almond, chocolate chips, peanut butter, and banana. The banana and chocolate flavors really popped.
