More like 3.5 stars. On my first time in I came hoping for an herbal iced tea to which I was informed that the iced tea is all caffeinated. Kevin offered to make me a Chamomile tea instead and pour it over ice. It was delicious! And I was greatly appreciative for his offering to do such a thing. My only tiff came when I was waiting for a pastry that I ordered that never came. The place was packed so I just assumed it would take some time. After I saw 2 other people walking around with said pastry I waited back in line and informed the barista at the front that I thought I was forgotten. She told me that they were out of that particular item to which I replied "oh bummer. I will take the croissant then." Her response, " Fun fact: if we don't hand it to you at the register then we forgot about you..." That was it. No sorry, no nothing. I don't know about you guys but seeing that I work in customer service I have never talked to another person that way, especially when the mistake is my own. Fun fact Kuppa Joy: be sure to train ALL your employees on the basics of customer service. And as I read other reviews, I see I'm not the only one who thinks this way. It's awesome that you're busy, but your customers are the ones who make it that way. Plus I find it insulting to read at the front about your Jesus sweatshirts when your barista lacks common courtesy. Just sayin. read more

I popped in here today while I waited for my hair appointment at the salon next door. This place sure is a little gem located in the heart of Old Town Clovis. The decor inside is kind of neat- I'd describe it as a mix of trendy and industrial. I ordered a hot vanilla chai latte with almond milk. They offer two kinds of chai and offer almond milk in lieu of soy milk. It was a little over $4, but it was perfect- the beverage was hot enough, but the milk was not scalded. It had a great flavor and didn't taste processed or have a weird after taste like some other chain coffee shop's beverages can have. Also, for a small local business, I feel like it was reasonable and didn't mind paying the price for what I felt was a quality beverage. Also, there is a lot of seating and there were a few people in there who were on their laptops on the large tables. It seems like a cool little spot and I will definitely return the next time I am in the area. read more

I got an almond milk almond joy latte once and really didn't like it. So one of the workers? Manager? replaced it with regular milk for me, even though I didn't complain or ask for it. He was really nice. To me, that's great service and being beyond attentive for customers' needs! Love this place to get good cold brew and stay out of the heat. read more

I love this place. I love the coffee and selections of food. I enjoy the ambiance of the shop and the staff is always helpful and nice. I usually have questions for them and they always answer them with a smile. I also like they have a lot of home made stuff too. Such as home made nut milks sometimes or ingredients for their teas. There aren't many places like Kuppa Joy here in fresno; it's nice to go somewhere else besides Starbucks. This place has a little San Francisco vibe to it, so I really enjoy that. The only downside to this place is that it is super crowded, there's never anywhere to sit. Customer service is ok, staff members can be a bit more friendly. First time at this coffee shop. I have been hearing great reviews on this place so my mom n I went to go check it out. It was busy - I take that as a good sign ! Atmosphere was cool - great inspirational quotes & photos around the shop - I ordered an ice vanilla latte & a bagel no complaints here as far as taste - here it comes I am big on customer service I feel this is one of the most important factors of making a great place successful ...I wasn't impressed ... They forgot to make one of our drinks ( or maybe another customer accidentally grabbed it) My mom kindly went up to ask where the other drink was & they told her to wait ...ok things happen ... The crowd dies down & I still don't have my drink ... We wait patiently ...finally my mom goes up there & stands there a few minutes until she is acknowledged (that doesn't happen. ) so she asked again & the guy says oh it sitting right here we called your name ... We weren't sitting far & I was pretty much paying attention cause I wanted my drink & people were going up & grabbing as their name was called ... I observed in this time that maybe they need to work on a better system & organization strategy so drinks aren't missed & make sure a customer gets their drink ( things happen ...this I understand but a sincere apology would have been nice) I almost rated this place a 2 star but because of their Godly quotes & religious bibles laying around for anyone to grab & read made me not shun this place out- it's a nice touch ...I'll prob giving it a second chance ...maybe they were having a off day! read more

Best coffee in Fresno/Clovis. I just found this gem in Old Town, accidentally of course. They've been open since Dec 2012. Please please please give them your business, I'd hate to see this place close. Great coffee, of course. Verve (roasted in Santa Cruz) and Victrola (from Seattle) are their suppliers and they know what to do with it. My wife and I each had a pour-over. Yes, it's a little expensive and slow but makes the best brew if you're not keen on an espresso. They have conventional brew, too, if you're in a hurry or want to pay only $2. I haven't tried that or their espresso, but will at some point because I'm definitely coming back. Also they've put together a nice coffee house vibe that you get on the coast but not in the central valley. They have an outdoor patio area, too, in the back. Probably won't feel like a coffee shop if you're a Fresno local: no drive through means you have to actually park and get out of your car. Gasp! By the way, if you're riding the Clovis Old Town bike trail, this is just across the street, so stop by. read more

I've been here a few times. The atmosphere is cool, service is always good, lattes are ok, the seating is awkward. The chairs are too short for the tables which is uncomfortable for working/studying for longer periods of time. Not in a hurry to go back. read more

Very expensive, coffee Luke warm. I got a hot mocha and it was sippy cup warm. The barista (girl) refused to remake. I had only taken 2 sips. She said she would microwave it. I declined and so she then said she would then re-steam with the coffee already in it, (who does that. It was like $5.) At that juncture I knew there was no point and told her to keep it I would just get my money back. I stood in line to get a refund, when she decides to re make it bring it to me in line and argue with me in front of everyone as to why she did what she did. It was quite a show. I let her know I'd be opting for $ back. She made 2 drinks which the shop collected NO money. instead of recognizing mistake (perhaps apologizing) would have been a quick and easy fix. Instead made 2 drinks and collected NO $, not sure about that logic. Many of the kids that work in there are super nice. There seems to b always one who is ridiculous though. Calling people Hon when there like 12, it's silly. The building is cool tho. Exposed brick. Nice ambience. Too bad. I'd rather go to Starbucks. read more

Every drink is crafted with quality ingredients and a unique touch! Latte Art is by far the best I have ever seen! My favorite Drink is a Single Shot Kuppa Joy Frapp with No Whip! At Starbucks drink quality can vary from store to store! But not here! My drink is the same every time! The employees know me by name and always greet me with a smile! But that's how they treat all their customers! Whether it's your first visit or you are a regular they make you feel at home! Every drink on the menu is unique and tasty! A friend introduced me to this place a few weeks ago, and wow, their coffee is AMAZING!!! I've been back several times, and if you aren't a straight, black coffee drinker but prefer flavored and mixed coffee drinks, then definitely get the Kuppa Joy. Everything was great byt the service of the cashier :( it was just 1 and she was very rude I didn't get her name but her hair was long and light brownish blonde.. I felt like an outsider ordering there. I asked her for suggestions and she just stared at me and said the coffee was good. . Lol yeeeaahh. Any how other than her rude service it was wonderful. I visit a lot of coffee shops when I'm in the Bay Area and Kuppa Joy is the only coffee place I've found in Fresno that reminds me of them. I love the interior so much; the lighting, the space, and the good service there. I drive 30 minutes away from my house just to come here and study/draw just because I like the environment. The coffee and service are excellent as well and it's always lively so you never feel like the place is a bore. I'm glad I found this place a year ago because it is the best hangout spot to be! read more

This place is always full so one day I had to find out why. This place is legit. Great place to go and relax with coffee and friends. I hate when places over sweeten coffee and here the coffee was the star of the drink. I havent tried any food yet so no comment on that yet. We sat out in the back patio which wasnt much to look at but it was perfect weather to be outside. Would be a nice area to build a little out door zen area to drink your coffee. One of the coolest coffee shops I've been to in the Fresno/Clovis area. The coffee was delicious, personal favorite of mine would be the mocha, but from what I hear they have plenty of signature drinks for anyone wanting to try something new. I loved the entire ambiance, everything tied in so well together from the seating to lighting to music. I woul definitely go back, it was a little crowded as it usually is, I was just barely able to squeeze in at a back table, but I didn't mind it so much, it was comfortable enough. Perfect place to hangout, so some homework, or even people watch. Good coffee, nice people, and free wifi? Every college kids dream. They were nice but they couldn't make me a caramel macchiato because they only make macchiatos in 3oz drinks when they're menu says they make them in 8oz. Not really a big deal, but the barista recommended a caramel vanilla drink (I don't remember the actual name) that she claimed was just as good/tasted just the same. To be honest, the drink was kind of bland/nothing noteworthy and it was served to me warm (not hot). My friend got an Almond Joy coffee and it was very sweet. I like this place, it's very cute, but the actual coffee shop is better than the coffee they serve. The coffee IS good, but I expected something better. I will continue to come here, even though it's not in a very convenient spot in Clovis, because of just how adorable the place is.
