I have been here before, but don't believe I have reviewed. This is a small storefront in old town Clovis with a really cute patio in the back which is very serene and quiet and lovely on a good day like today. The store itself is small and not much room for a line. I tried the cardamom vanilla latte and asked for it less sweet. It was really good with just the right amount of sweetness to spice. However, my friend had never been here before and ordered a cubano which she didn't realize was so small. She couldn't believe how small the cup was and it was way too sweet. Unfortunately, when we went back up to the counter to try and exchange it for something else we feel we didn't get the best service. They eventually gave my friend some milk foam to mix it with to tone it down, but she was overall unhappy with her experience. I know the menu probably described what she was ordering but since it was her first time there, she was a little overwhelmed with the menu and could have used some guidance. Also my other friend asked about getting a certain coffee and felt talked down to from the woman at the register like she was an idiot. She says it is not the first time this woman has been rude, as she has been here before and had the same rude service. Got 2 drinks, the cashmere cream latte and 007 latte. I got it at standard, and I think both drinks could've been more sweet for my liking! If you have a sweet tooth like me, I'd recommend asking for more sweet. In terms of the coffee flavor, I feel both are very light, not strong enough in my opinion, you'd probably need to pay extra for another shot of espresso. I really enjoyed the 007 tho! Something about it was super super good, I'd give it a 9/10, but the cashmere drink tasted more milky and plain so that was a 3/10. I'd come back for the 007 and to explore the menu more, they have a variety of options to choose from which is nice! Pricing is standard for a latte so no complaints there :D Inside is a vibe, but pretty small. There are a few seating for chatting or studying. I've always wanted to try a breve latte but was worried that it would be too aggressive. I saw the cashmere cream on the menu and knew I had to have it. I normally add sweetened condensed milk to my latte at the coffee shop I go to at home every day and I thought I had reached perfection. This is better than perfect. Folks behind the counter were friendly and the shop has a great vibe. I'm visiting from Berkeley and if I'm ever in town again, I'd absolutely come back. The only complaint I have is that they couldn't take my personal cup and make my drink in it. Hate wasting paper cups so I go everywhere with my own. I was excited to try out this coffee shop and was severely disappointed. The biggest problems were the drinks and customer service. I ordered a cold brew with sugar free vanilla and a Penguin latte. The cold brew was very water down and they either forgot the sugar free vanilla or the syrup was non existent. Overall the cold brew is not worth it. The penguin latte tasted like milk with espresso nothing else a very disappointing drink. The older lady taking the orders lack any customer skills and made the experience unpleasant. Good coffee. Very cute cafe. Friendly staff. Very limited space/seating inside. There are a few small tables out front, but if I remember correctly... there are a bunch of tables out back? It's been a minute since my last visit versus this most recent one. I didn't go further than inside the cafe this round. I've only ever tried the Cashmere Cream and the Peach Iced Tea-- which is exactly what I ordered the other day. The Cashmere Cream is really good (hits the spot every time), the Peach Tea... okay. Not the best I've ever had. Next visit I do want to try something else, as well as one of their pastries. Staff is nice, service isn't always the quickest-- but I understand when it comes to coffee shops having a lot of orders comes with a process. I'll be patient for good coffee ... but it just so happens this last visit was on a work day and it did cause me to be late... Eek! But, it was worth it. Anyway, definitely recommend their coffee. Wow, my last review for here was from six years ago?! I've been here many times between now and then, but my latest visit was very delightful! I ordered a iced Americano with almond milk along with one of their delicious old-fashioned donuts. The iced Americano was phenomenal! Not bitter aftertaste you sometimes get with espresso based drinks. This was super smooth and I've never drank an iced coffee so fast. Last time I was here I ordered a turkey wrap this time around I went with a pastry. I ordered a classic old-fashioned glazed doughnut, my go to with coffee. This donut was dense, not too sweet, and massive. All good things, when eating an old fashioned donut. The staff told me it was made by a local baker, but they didn't tell me the actual name of the bakery. I wish they did, because I would definitely be stopping there for other delicious bakery treats! I really love this coffee shop! Not only is the staff amazing, but it's a great place to hang out with some friends, read a book, or get some work done on your computer. read more

Great local coffee cafe. Amazing coffee! We ordered the cardamom vanilla latte 8oz ($5) and the 007 latte 12oz ($7). Both were delicious and not too sweet or burnt in flavor. We ordered the English muffin breakfast sandwich. Simple but delicious! ($6.75) The front staff was friendly and answered our questions regarding the menu. Back staff was hustling to get the orders filled. Limited small inside seating area. (15ppl max) Seating area out in front, small 4 person tables and some seating in the back patio area for a bit larger crowd. Located in old downtown Clovis. On street parking. Restrooms are in the common area in the back alley of the cafe. **This is not a place for a quick grab and go coffee. Sit and enjoy type of place. I've been here multiple times now so I feel like I have a better grasp of Two Cities! Ambience: Very rustic and charming, but small, very small which can be a bit inaccessible for people who utilize wheelchairs. I enjoy the calm and well crafted environment inside, but I don't get a chance to really sit and enjoy it because it feels a bit claustrophobic. It is pretty cramped when more than 5 people are inside so beware of how packed it can get in the morning. I tend to opt for sitting in the back or outside the front. Drinks: they have lots of options so you're not short of choices. Me and my partner have tried a few and he only orders decaf which I appreciate that they have. I've tried the amber vanilla latte, 007, honeybee latte, vanilla sweet cream cold brew, Maple latte, and their Aussie style matcha. I think overall the drinks are decent! I can tell a lot of their specialty drinks have a lot of breve so beware. I had the 007 as my first drink and no joke it hurt my stomach so bad but it tasted so good . I'll say my favorites were the matcha and the amber vanilla latte. Service: The baristas are always very nice and I don't have a problem with them at all! It's actually nice to see the same people working there every time I've gone in. However, I am a bit disappointed in their limited accommodations/customizations of drinks. I'm trying to be more environmentally conscious of where I create waste and reducing it, and one big red flag to me is that they don't accept personal cups which does not feel very accessible. Additionally they only offer 2 shots in their drinks, so you can't ask for half decaf or just 1 shot for less caffeine and no chance at reducing the price of your drink. And finally, I was a bit surprised that they refused to put cold foam on my cold brew. The barista explained it would only be for 1 type of drink that they make which is a bit surprising and off-putting because I make cold brew with cold foam all the time at home (it is not very difficult) and still there was an immediate "we don't do that answer." Overall, while I do enjoy the drinks I've had and want to like this place, I'm hesitant to choose this place as a favorite or opt for is it as a local go-to due to their stipulations/limitations on accommodating requests. read more

Upon entering, you'll notice that there will almost be no room to traverse. The space for patrons to stand is EXTREMELY cramped. So for the sheer fact that coming here means I will be in someone's personal space and someone else will be all up in my grill is a bit nerve-wracking. Their cashiers are always considerate. Our first visit took 12 minutes from ordering to get our coffee. The next was 11. Our last one didn't happen because they warned us it'll be over 30 minutes. I said, "come again?" She said it's going to be at least 30 minutes, as they had several orders ahead of us. Our son wanted to go home to take a load off after soccer so we said Thanks and excused ourselves. When we DO get coffee we've found that they're one of the few roasters that make a decaf that tastes like Coffee and isn't bitter. It's worth visiting if they're not slammed out the wazoo, but be prepared for the mixed bag stated above. read more

I love this place it's so welcoming and I love the staff the owners are beyond nice. It's not close to home but I go drive out just to enjoy some delicious coffee. When you walk in you see plants and smell coffee. They have donuts and other pastries to choose from they are limited though. They do have a small food menu as well if you have time to sit and eat or maybe take it to go. Limited seating which is okay if just want to hangout for a bit. They also have 4 tables outside on the sidewalk Incase you want to meet up with a friend or maybe do some work or enjoy a book. Cute place and good coffee!! Pretty small inside but not as small as I was expecting they have a few tables and a bar to sit at comfortably. Plenty of outside tables as well as many public benches. To the left of the entrance there's an iron gate that takes you through a narrow alley to a back patio with even more tables too! Very chill, relaxing area. Noticed it started getting pretty busy after about 9/9:30 on the Saturday I visited. I loved my latte! I went with the cashmere creme latte. Just the right amount of flavor/ sweetness. Two Cities Coffee Roasters is a wonderfully cozy place with great drink selection. I got the lavender vanilla latte with oat and it was fantastic. Definitely kept me energized for the day. They have specialty matchas that I'd love to try on my next visit. Drinks do take some time to make but it's worth the wait. There's outdoor seating that can be accessed through the iron gate to the left of the storefront, walk through the alley, and there's are several tables in the back. Street parking is in front. The employees are friendly and welcoming. They even offered my friend's dog a pup cup. read more

They offer no substitutions and simply asking for a splash of heavy cream or half & half in a drink is offensive to them. "As a company we don't do that" is the response you get from the OWNERS wife. that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard in my life. FYI - I offered to PAY for the splash of half & half. To add to the matcha I bought from them bc they will only sell it to you with oatmilk and I prefer my matcha creamy not watery. read more

This was the first coffee shop I visited before moving to the Central Valley and it made a lasting impression. I love the 007 iced latte and their pastries are HUGE. No clue if they're made in house or who their bakery is, but it's good. This place can get really busy at times with waits of 20+ mins but they're good at informing you when you're ordering. Previously I gave a generous two stars, and if this review was based on coffee taste alone they'd get a 4.5... sadly however this place wins the award for the worst customer service. I've been in here over a dozen times the last few years and nearly every single time I get the impression that the people working do not want to be there and I'm somehow inconveniencing them by being there myself. HAHA. My most recent experience I went in at 2:45, they close at 3 PM, and the espresso machine was already turned off. They told me they could make me a Matcha or an iced coffee. I was super bummed and informed them that I would've used the online ordering system a half hour ago but it had been shut off all day. They said "we do that when it's busy." Well how and then why are you shutting things down early if you are busy? I let them know my sister-in-law was really looking forward to a latte from here. They dgaf. Was looking for some specific honey from my favorite honey guy, HH Honey. This was my first time here wanted the honey & how could I pass up some fresh brewed coffee? The young man who took my order was very friendly & helpful! It was around 2:00 on weekday afternoon & they were busy. The coffee was very tasty, would get it again. It was very nice & clean inside. I came during a very busy morning but they warned me before I ordered that the wait would be at least 20 min which was nice of them to give me a heads up. Not much seating inside (just 2 benches and a circle table) but there's a patio outside with more seating Ended up getting the Oatmilk Matcha Latte Aussie Style. The bartender said it's not as sweet compared to the Oatmilk Chocolate Matcha or Oatmilk Chai Matcha. And the 007 is a double espresso mixed with a milk product. One of my favorite hobbies is going to coffee shops and this coffee shop will definitely be in the rotation if I am ever in the Clovis area! I came here for a study date with some of my friends and it was a great experience. The inside was super clean and I loved the vibe of the interior. We came on a Tuesday morning so it wasn't too terribly busy. I got the iced oatmilk chai matcha. It wasn't my personal favorite BUT if you love the flavor of chai with the caffeine of matcha, this is your drink! This drink is very chai forward so if you really want that matcha taste, I'd probably recommend getting something else! They have all your coffee classics as well as other specialty coffees that I will definitely try out the next time I go! Seating inside is limited but they have tables outside in the front and on their back patio! Please note that they do not have a restroom!!! Easily the best coffee place in Clovis/Fresno. 100% recommend. Drinks: I usually get either a cold brew or an iced americano when I'm at a coffee shop because anytime I put any flavor in my drink, the syrup overpowers the espresso. This is not the case at Two Cities. The Iced Amber Vanilla latte has the perfect balance between a strong espresso taste and the sweetness from the vanilla syrup. The syrup is on the milder side which leaves room for the coffee taste to shine through. Ambience: The inside is snug and cozy. A few seats inside. Some seating outside in the front and there is a back patio with more seating. Service: Service is standard. Baristas are friendly. They can get pretty busy but I appreciate their transparency by letting us know the estimated wait time before we place our order. Value: The price is a bit on the higher end compared to other coffee spots but honestly I don't mind paying a little extra as long as I know my drink is going to hit the spot every single time. two cities is one of the only places in fresno that makes MATCHA matcha -- it's ceremonial grade, hand whisked to order, and the perfect vibrant green color. as a matcha connoisseur, this is the only place i'll go to when i don't feel like making matcha at home. hopefully there will be more places like this coming to fresno :) read more

Me and my friend decided to swing by today to grab a cup of coffee. This is one of my favorite places in town and my friend had never tried it. There was an extremely rude old woman with gray hair and glasses who took our order. My friend asked what kind of flavorings they had for the coffee and this women just said "THEY ARE RIGHT ABOVE ME" and pointed to the board. MIND you no where on the board was there any list of favors. So my friend reiterated the same question again and was more specific and she was short and rude and continued to point above her. I'm absolutely shocked with the service today given that i've never received service like this before at this shop but then again never seen her there either so that must be why.
