Wow, when I tried Drip last year, I was simply not a fan. I found everything to be lackluster in terms of drinks. However, after a recent visit, I noticed they have a more elaborate and cohesive menu. ESPECIALLY for matcha, which is so important to me as someone who has been drinking matcha for years. Their kaze matcha powder has some of the most interesting and nutty flavors I've ever had in a matcha latte. It knocks all the ones in LA out of the park for me. Small critique is using the small nugget ice--they just melt faster and water down the drink if you're a sipper. The guy at the counter was also helpful, and of course the interior is to die for. I will be back there tomorrow, so hopefully the drinks are consistently this good. If so, I will be a regular. Came here on a Sunday afternoon. This place looks like it's new. Not much seating only 2 tables but they have a bunch of outlets. There's a giant tree in the middle of the store and at the bottom that you can sit. The cashier explained the menu pretty well. It was like he was practicing from a script. It's cool that this place lets you choose your own matcha. There's four options of matcha the Sora Reserve, Kaze Samidori, Nagomi, and Okumidori. Each matcha had their own levels of bitterness, umami flavor, nuttiness and sweetness. I ended up getting the Kaze Samidori Matcha Vanilla Einspanner ($8.75) and Mango Sticky Rice Milk Tea ($8). They serve desserts and pastries too. Both drinks were very delicious. The matcha was very rich flavor and creamy. The mango sticky rice was refreshing and tasty cuz of the sago balls. The matcha drinks are so much better than other drinks I've had. My only complaint is about picking what matcha is used. There are a few that have an additional upcharge on top of the drink you are ordering. Really good! I've had two good experiences with the banana matcha. So yummy. Expensive but compared to other places in town you really get your moneys worth. I ordered pick up today and when I walked in, it wasn't just sitting on the counter. I was a few minutes late for pick up so they actually put it in the fridge so it wouldn't be sitting out, which I feel like is really the extra mile that I appreciate. Honestly I love this place so much. The ambiance, quality of teas, and customer service are all impeccable. I came here with my friend per her recommendation. I love that they have a large selection of unique tea flavors. Also FYI: the matcha is ceremonial-grade! I consulted with the barista asking how sweet the Lychee Blossom tea was and she told me it wasn't that sweet. I ended up ordering the Lychee Blossom tea at 50% sweetness (which still ended up being a bit too sweet for my taste). I'm pretty sensitive to sweetness so I would definitely order something at a lower level of sweetness next time. It's more of a take and go. I ordered the Thai Freddo with boba. It's their take on the classic Thai Tea, topped with a thick sweetened foam. Overall, it was okay. The boba I chose was unsweetened. They offer the brown sugar boba too. Tbh, I didn't even know that was an option, lol. I was afraid the whole drink would be too sweet, so I decided on the unsweetened boba. Now I know... My thai tea didn't taste cold enough or sweet enough. Eventually I stirred in the foam with the thai tea and that made it sweeter. My friends ordered the fruit tea, Mango Passion Grove and the Mango Sticky Rice Milk Tea. Of all our drinks, we agreed the Mango Sticky Rice Milk Tea was the best! It was surprisingly good! So far, the Honeycomb Milk Tea has been my favorite! Just an amazing taste, not overly sweet, balanced. The honeycomb is the tea is a nice touch & good! The Honey Orange Blossom is also on the semi sweeter side, but not overly sweet. The orange blossom blends well with the matcha green tea, without that over bearing matcha taste, it's pretty good! Now, the Green Tea Match Crepe I wasn't sure of, something I just decided to try & glad I did! So good! Lol. Very moist, sweet & the texture is great! Will say, definitely got me up & going! We came on 3/16 and most of their desserts were sold out, I was able to snag a matcha brownie cookie. Thin, chewy, and the matcha flavors really stand out. A bit on the sweeter side for me. Overall I think this place is great for those who are wanting to try out matcha. It's on the lighter side as in, their drinks are more "milk" based than matcha based. Although it may be personal preference ! So ditch your Starbucks matcha and come here!! The matcha here is good quality, passed the stain test, and taste test! No artificial or fishy aftertaste!! The coconut matcha was really good, the coconut flavors reminded me of a roasted coconut which I had no problems with, I would probably ask if it's possible to have more matcha. Good solid drinks, with kind and wonderful staff. Absolutely a place I would grab a tea to-go. I would hear on a Saturday afternoon around 3 PM. The place was very well capped. Everything was clean, the tables were wiped, and the bathroom was spotless. My girlfriend and I ordered two drinks: a rose tea with Boba and a Matcha green tea with vanilla. The rose tea with Boba was perfectly sweetened, without being too sweet. The Boba was still warm and fresh, and overall it was just a delightfully delicious drink. The Matcha green tea is an actual Matcha green tea. I feel like a lot of people are used to Matra being mixed with a ton of sugar, and that is totally not what this place does. They allow the matcha to come through, and complement it very well with other flavors like vanilla, coconut, and lavender. Probably between 7 to 8 dollars for drink, but I don't think that is too far off from a solid good cup of tea. So the inside of this place is very small, I think maybe 20 people could be in their comfortably, and there really isn't much space. You could tell by the design, the owners really don't intend for you to stay, but I'm OK with that. Just being able to have a good tea place, that's easily accessible is just a wonderful treat. The place was very nice with a great central stone bench and a couple of other couches, but seating is pretty limited.
