After seeing it on Facebook I decided to see what it's all about. Went here a few days ago with my friend we were treated rude not sure if the worker was against me on my apearance but it felt like it to me. The food is good, the place is so closed and crowed with tables,its hard to be comfortable if your not in to closed in spaces.the servers are very nice and on the ball,chatty i like that,my order was done the way i ordered it.just no room, a customer was sneezing n coughing at the next table and i got it on my arm yuck ! We often went to Kuppys, as it was a traditional old style diner. Hidden in the back streets of Middletown, they served up breakfast, Coffee, and nostalgia. Now, several of us really only visited the town of Middletown for A specific reason; the Amtrak station with the free parking lot. Sometimes, the lot was overfilled, and we would have to park our cars on the little side streets, which seemed fine, as it was legal and not hurting anyone. You could park and grab a bite at Kuppys before your train. Then I heard about Kuppys "attitude", and it soured my stomach. It seems that Kuppys doesn't want any train passengers parking near their restaurant. They even went public about it, and asked the town council to allow violation signs, so you'd get a ticket. What ever happened to nice small towns and friendly diners? I really don't even want to return to this place now, I'll grab food somewhere else nearby. I hope the new station has some food service. I'd gladly pay to park at the station, grab a bite there, and watch this little diner disappear into history, with their small handful of remaining customers. Maybe they could level the place and build more Amtrak parking? Please make it free, though. That would be fitting. Too bad about their attitude; I like diners, but only friendly ones, and there are fortunately still some around, even in nearby Harrisburg. Places that value the customer more than guarding a parking space on some public, small town street with free parking. read more

I tried kuppys for breakfast this summer. I am from out of state and I wanted to try some scrapple. I never had it before. the man behind the counter let me have a small piece of scrapple before I order a whole thing just in case I didn't like it. I'm glad he gave me a sample because no, indeed, I did not like it. Maybe it's a regional thing and because I'm not from Pennsylvania or the north at all....They also gave me a Sample' of beef chips and white gravy. I thank them for their laniappe, and letting me try a couple of new things on the house. It's a cute little diner rectangular shaped and breakfast comes out quick and hot. read more

I ordered a chicken parmesan sandwich. I cut the sandwich in half. 1st half was good but... The second half of the sandwich was not fully cooked at all. I could not taste the chicken because of the cheese and sauce. It was raw...pink. read more

This family owned diner has been bullied by a woman named Millie and 2 of her "friends" and her review will give you a little insight to her hateful nature. Wouldn't eat there, they can't keep it clean. What Middletown Pride does that show for their customers. I guess it's called killing you softly with their dirt. At $24.95 we got two breakfast specials, with NO sides, 1 coffee, 2 waters, and not even a "Thank you for coming folks", a very overpriced, to small, not friendly diner. I highly recommend you find another breakfast spot. read more

Very disappointing. I've given this place a chance three times now. The food is mostly bland but it is filling. If that's your thing then this is the place for you. First time was for chicken pot pie. It was a bland plate of gravy, noodles, and a small amount of chicken. My glass of water was a small, dirty looking, off colored plastic cup. Second time I forget. Third time was roast turkey and all the trimmings. Again, very bland and disappointing. Dried turkey (even though it was all dark meat, which is difficult to overcook), a terrible portion of stuffing, and same sad cup of water. Service was poor to middling each time. Cash only. If in Middletown, my suggestion would be to go to the Brownstone. Better food. Better service. Better cups of water. read more

Very good little old diner. Be forewarned that it is CASH ONLY! I eat breakfast here occasionally and always leave full and happy. The prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get. The food is always hot and fresh. I have read some of the previous reviews and agree with some of them on some things. Parking anywhere around here is at a premium. It is small so on the weekends especially you may have to wait for a seat to open up. Which is not usually a too terrible long wait. The diner which is based on a railroad passenger car is old and shows the wear time has taken on it which some may mistake for being dirty. I am somewhat of a germophobe so if I think it is clean enough it must be. Like i said before it is old and not perfect but I recommend a visit there if you liked diners back in the good old days. Please remember (CASH ONLY!!!!!!!). My only complaint since I usually only use credit. read more
