It gets a little busy Sunday late morning until close, but the wait time is usually 20 to 30 minutes. I think the longest I've ever waited was 40, but it's well worth it. Everyone in town knows how good it is, so if you want to get right in come early. If you come later , and have to wait a little bit, I guarantee you'll be happy you did! Good food! Today we came in with a group of 10 people and sat on the patio, the hostess was very sweet and accommodating for us and got us sat almost immediately! However, it was a little uncomfortable because we could hear the one server giving her a little bit of a hard time and complaining about seating us. We are from PA but live in VA now. We were in the area yesterday after a funeral for my brother at Indiantown Gap. I craved some comfort food before the long ride home and I remembered The Hershey Pantry from my college days at PSU, which now feels like 138 years ago. We stopped in and had the most delightful, sweet waitress: Piper. The food was just what we wanted: filling and familiar. Hubs had a chicken caprese sammie and I had a reuben with turkey. Both hit the spot. I saw a coconut cake slice go by for another table and had to order one immediately to go. OMG - GET THE COCONUT CAKE. I had it as a late night snacky and it was tender with the right amount of coconut, and frosting that was light like an angel's wings. Ryan ordered the Gettysburg Sandwich, and I swear I saw him fall a little bit in love with his plate. My mom grabbed the BLT Eggs Benedict, and WOW... that hollandaise? I need the recipe. I'm not usually someone who takes the time to write reviews, but I felt like I needed to share my experience at Hershey Pantry. First, I do want to acknowledge that the staff accommodated us when we came in together, even though we were actually three separate parties; one party of 2 and two parties of 6. We appreciated them being able to seat us at the same time. Unfortunately, the food and service were not up to par. I specifically ordered the Brisket Burnt End Scramble without cheese. When placing my order, I made a point to ask the waiter if there was any other cheese or ingredient containing cheese that wasn't listed on the menu. He told me no. When my food arrived, it had cheese on it. No big deal, I let the waiter know. What bothered me was that there was no apology or real acknowledgment of the mistake. He simply took the plate and said, "I'll get you another one." As I watched him walk away, I saw him throw the plate down and say something to his colleague. His facial expression made it very clear that he was annoyed by the situation. When the replacement finally came out, the brisket consisted mostly of pieces of fat rather than the burnt ends I was expecting. At that point, I decided not to make another issue out of it. My children also ordered pancakes. They absolutely love pancakes, but unfortunately, the pancakes were extremely dry, and none of them finished their meals. What was also disappointing was that the waiter never came back to check on our table or ask how everyone's food was. Considering there had already been an issue with my meal, I would have expected at least a simple check-in to make sure everything was okay. Instead, there was no follow-up at all. The other issue was the 20% gratuity that was added to all of our bills. The menu states that parties of 8 or more are subject to a 20% gratuity. However, we were three separate parties sitting at three separate tables with three separate checks. My wife and I normally tip 20% or more anyway, so I ultimately left it alone. However, given the circumstances and the fact that our parties were separate, I found the automatic gratuity questionable and, frankly, very disappointing. Tipping is generally optional and is intended to reflect the service provided. When a gratuity is automatically added, especially in a situation involving separate parties, separate tables, and separate checks, I believe it should be handled with transparency and in accordance with the restaurant's stated policy. Could I have addressed all of these issues while we were there? Absolutely. I chose not to. Instead, I decided to leave an honest review in the hope that management takes this feedback seriously and that future customers don't have the same experience. I've read many of the other reviews, and it seems like a lot of people have had very positive experiences here. Maybe we simply caught them on an "off" day. Unfortunately, based on our experience today, the food quality, attention to detail, and service left a lot to be desired. I'm not looking to bash the establishment, just sharing an honest experience so it can hopefully be addressed and, most importantly, not happen to another customer. read more

The food is delicious here. My favorites are the Italian stuffed French toast and the Crab Florentine Eggs Benedict. This was the first time there since the new owners took over. There were subtle changes like the decor didn't have the same personal touch and the hash browns are different. But nothing to stop me from coming back. The service is always good. Had some time before the park opened so we stopped by this highly recommend place. We got some classics to get our day started - a Breakfast Burrito and a Western Style Omelet. The burrito was great - stuffed full and pressed so there was a nice crisp shell. The omelet was good but I wished they put the cheese inside rather than on top. Every time we come to the Hershey area we stop at the pantry and are never disappointed. Firstly, the service is always great. Even on the busiest weekend days, we get service with a smile, and the team here really hustles!! Second, the vibe is immaculate. That super cozy diner feel, with an elevated experience. My friend is a picky eater and even she loved it. Nice chunks of avocado, slices of red beets, arugula, almonds, a scoop of goat cheese and a balsamic glaze! I added 2 eggs and it was delicious! I was in Hershey for a bachelorette party weekend, and during our explorations of places to eat for breakfast, one member of our party recommended here. She had lived in Hershey for some time and had good things to say, specifically about their cinnamon rolls. That's all that needed to be said, so we made plans to stop in on our last morning before heading back to NY. I did a little research before going and found out that they do not take reservations nor can one call ahead for tables. That, along with what I saw online gave me the feeling this was a popular spot; since it was a Sunday morning and we were a party of 6, I was prepping for a wait. We arrived around 9am and as a pleasant surprise we were seated right away (hot tip: go early - there as a line for tables by the time we left). In terms of dining rooms, there's the main restaurant as well as an outdoor patio; we were seated in the latter which was closed up and heated for the winter - it was quite comfortable. They also did a nice job with the decor - nothing too noteworthy but enough to make the place warm and welcoming. HP is only opened for breakfast and lunch, and they also serve afternoon tea. The menu has a good selection of items, and since we were there early I focused on the breakfast items. We wanted those cinnamon rolls, so we decided to get an order of the classic ones as well as their seasonal flavor (which was Cosmic Brownie). The rolls were good - not life changing but definitely better than your average cinnamon roll; the frosting was super generous without being overpowering. For my main I decided to get one of their benedict selections - specifically the Crispy Chicken Benedict. This swapped out a biscuit for English Muffin and (you guessed it) crispy chicken for the Canadian bacon. The dish was good - it was kinda heavy but that's to be expected; the flavor and quality of the dish was there though. For a side I decided on hash browns which were just fine. Service was great - the hosts were really friendly as was our server. Overall, I had a great time at Hershey Pantry - they delivered the goods and this was a wonderful finisher to my friend's bachelorette party weekend. read more

Very popular spot and literally next to a hotel so unless you plan to get there right at 7am when they open or later in the morning, expect some wait time. We got there around 9:15 and was told 45 mins...it was about 35 mins when we were called so bonus! Inside space is not huge but they do have a screen in patio. Super cute modern cafe diner style. Our server was super friendly and took our order quickly. Lots of variety on their menu! I got the big Al omelette with spicy chorizo and it was delicious! Instead of potatoes I was able to get a mixed green salad which I felt was a great balance! My wife and I had so many options while visiting the area for a festival and we are both happy to have chosen this place. There's limited of parking but manageable. As you walked up the ramp, put your name on the waiting list especially on the weekends. You can also called ahead and make reservations. You have to options indoor or outdoor seatings. When are seats were ready, we received a text and the hostess provided instructions of which door to enter as the corresponding server will confirm your arrival. We ordered 4 items: 1) Mimosas Flight 2) Crab Florentine 3) Chicken and Waffles 4) Avocado Beet Toast. The mimosas flight is served during their Fall season which arrives to the table in 4 flavors: witches brew, angry apple, golden orchard, spice and sparkle. They each had a unique combination, the witches brew was cool to watch when pouring in the blue glitter into the mix and the golden orchard was served with a donut ball. They were all tasty. The waffle was okay, a little soggy even before adding the syrup. The boneless chicken was delicious and had the right about of heat. It was served with a chive and cayenne butter. The highlights for us were the last two items. The crab florentine was beautiful layered with English muffin, crab cakes, fresh spinach, poached eggs and creamy hollandaise sauce and served with your choice of sides. I selected hash browns. I wasn't able to stop eating and with every bite it enhances my palate with deliciousness and full of umami. The avocado beet toast was topped with sourdough, avocado spread, slice beets, garlic aioli, almonds, goat cheese, fresh arugula and drizzle with balsamic glaze. With each bite, it intensified the flavors in your mouth. Our server Samantha N was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant is clean and cozy. We were considering driving to Lancaster for brunch while visiting the Hershey area, but due to a number of places being closed on a Sunday, we came upon this local restaurant. Although we had to wait awhile to be seated (very busy place), we were not disappointed. The four of us had different items and everything came out just right. My wife and I had the burgers and they were great!! Juicy and cooked the way we wanted and almost to big for one person to finish! The only disappointment was that they ran out of their cinamon rolls which we had considered for desert. Maybe next time. Definitely a place to go when you're in the Hershey area. On my last visit I tried the buzz bee cold brew, which had honey nut cheerios on top. It was amazing, as was my breakfast BLT -- it was LOADED with toppings and served on house made sourdough. Since my previous review we've had a chance to eat here a couple more times. My only disappointment last time was that they weren't serving regular breakfast after noon, only the breakfast bar. Today the menu clearly stated that they "serve breakfast all day," so I don't know if that was a change made to the menu, or maybe Sundays are the exception. But there it is. You have been updated. As for the breakfast menu, it really is pretty special!! I can see why everyone seems to like it. So many interesting things, like the brisket burnt ends that I had today, which combined eggs (I think 3), cheddar cheese, onions, hash browns and crunchy burnt brisket ends drizzled with a sweet Carolina honey mustard bbq sauce. SO good! My wife loved the crab florentine, which combined crab and spinach with 2 poached eggs, all topped with a dreamy hollandaise sauce on an English muffin. The only thing that kept me from giving 5 stars was the very mediocre cappuccino. It was basically warm milk with a slight taste of coffee. We went the last day we were in town -- and Hershey Pantry didn't disappoint. The food was delicious (they have chocolate and healthier options as well!).
