Absolutely love it here! Blue Ridge has been needing a nice sushi spot and this is it! Our server Justin was extremely attentive, helpful and personable. Highly recommend the Tenjaku Smash, although I think it is a seasonal drink. The gyoza and miso soup were delicious apps. We ordered several rolls and would reorder them all. The Kurukoi Dreams, Blue Ridge, Kyushu & Aburi Salmon Oshizushi rolls were amazing. I can't believe how fresh the fish was. We went here for dinner at downtown Blue Ridge. We had a party of 10 so we were seated separately, which was fine. The food came out one by one. My friends are half way done eating before i gotten my entree. In addition, the meal was pretty bland. I got the udon and it's like ramen noodles that I could've made at home. My friends got the wagyu fried rice, and it was underwhelming. The service is okay, and we still had a good time at Blue Ridge. read more

Best Sushi I have ever eaten! Every piece was refreshing , light melt in your mouth delicious. Service was great. Staff very friendly. Decorated beautifully inside. My husband and I have been honeymooning in Blue Ridge and decided to have dinner at Kurokoi on our last night in town. The restaurant has an amazing ambience with the low lights, unique table lamps, antique looking tableware, and jazz music playing in the background. Chef Ferraro was created another elegant restaurant, high end Japanese, prepare to be pampered. Fourth of July, 5pm 3 people, reservation. Seated immediately, started off with Spicy Garlic Edamame, Crab Sunomono & Shrimp Tempura - Edamame could have used a bit more garlic. For entrée's Wagyu Ishiyaki 2x & Wagyu Beef Tataki melt in your mouth excellent. Also shared Kurokoi Dreams roll & Blue Ridge roll. Everything was absolutely delicious--the restaurant was gorgeous, the menu had an incredible selection and it felt like the team enjoyed being there (which is big for me because we all know food prepared with love just hits different) but the best part of the great experience was our server Amber. There were so many great selections on the menu that we had a really hard time choosing and really put Amber on the spot with a lot of questions and she handled it like a champ--not only incredible attitude but wonderful, details and descriptions that helped us choose things that we had never experienced before but profoundly enjoyed which is my favorite part of traveling and dining out so Amber and team, thank you so much for giving us an incredible experience! Food was excellent. Quality ingredients!. Service needs improvement. Prices are similar to NewYork City! Very small portions. Over priced! There were 4 adults dining this evening. We ordered a before dinner beverage. Wine selection is limited and a glass of pinot grigio is $16. Our salads came out before we even began to enjoy our drinks. Dinner entrees all came out at different times, over a 20 minute period. We all wanted to eat our entrees together, so we waited until the last entree was brought to our table. If this is the restaurant's style of service, they should state this up front. They did not. The manager did apologize for the server not telling us and comped as dessert. Great food and the service was perfect. Cool vibe inside and nice outdoor patio. California rolls were excellent.

First of all the food was OK at best. The entrée portions were extremely small and lacked a lot of flavor and the price was outrageous.

We had dinner for my nephew's 11th birthday and he gives Kurokoi an 11/10! I was skeptical about sushi in the mountains, but honestly this was the BEST sushi I've had in years. We live in Atlanta... lots of good sushi places, but Kurokoi far exceeded our local options. Our server, Alexandre, was attentive and helpful in making our choices and timing the delivery. The chef is creative and thoughtful in his choices and the restaurant is warm and welcoming. We will return... often!! Highly recommend! read more

Food is excellent. However went with another couple food came out at different times. Last meal 15 minutes after the others. Prices rate with New York City extremely high. Waiter shakes hands with each diner then serves food. Manager and chef did make amends by giving free dessert. Disappointed that there was no Cabernet on drink menu. read more
