Went to Tim Loong for lunch. The food was the worst I have ever tasted. The fish and chicken were ice cold. Those two items looked like they were previous frozen and put in a microwave prior to serving. We don't eat red meat so this is mainly why we go to this restaurant. The Moo goo gai pan was cold and full of celery. The rankoons were overcooked, very little filling and almost burnt. No teriyaki chicken being served which was another reason we went to this restaurant previously. The service was not that great. Waiter came to table once to fill my drink but did not come back to fill my husband's drink. Never came by again. Even asked the lady at the cash register if they were under new management of which she stated three years ago they took over management. Sorry to say we won't be returning. read more

Thank you Linda C. for doing a review. I wouldn't have tried Tin Loong otherwise. The reviews are all over. But her review made us give it a try. Annabelle greeted us when we entered. She was so nice and allowed us to move down to a different table. We were given menus and drink order taken. Delilah was our server. She couldn't do enough to make sure we had everything we needed. We received our drink and ordered an appetizer. We got the Egg Rolls and Singapore Egg Rolls. Both egg roll had a crunchy outer wrap and weren't greasy-hard to do. The regular Egg Roll was pretty goodbut the Singapore Egg Roll had mostly cabbage inside which was mushy. We ordered soup next and dinner entrees. I ordered the Hot & Sour soup which had a sweet flavor so thanks to the other Yelper I asked for the chilis in oil which kicked it up nicely. It had tons of vegetables in it-and a very tender beef strip which I don't think I've had before- making it delicious and filling. My husband had the wonton soup which wasn't as good, unfortunately. The wontons were mostly pasta with little to no filling and the broth had no flavor. Dinner came while we were still eating soup and apps. So, I put mine to the side because I wanted to finish the soup. The entrees were decent sized with enough for us for two meals-especially, since soup was so filling. The Mongolian Beef was really good. It's a definite reorder. The coolest thing came at the end when we were paying. A robot brought out a To Go order to the counter. I love the robot and would order something To Go just to see the robot!! I do recommend and will definitely go back the next time we are in town. read more

Buffet was horrible we ate at 3pm it must have been left from lunch it was all dark and dried out, I did eat a small amount just to end up very sick I had diarrhea and vomit from Sunday to Tuesday morning I even called the health dept and they went out to check things out. I come to GA several times a year and once I tried Tin Loong I recommended it, I even gave it 4 stars. On my last two visits I noticed unfamiliar persons but thought nothing of it until I dined. The food was not as good on my previous visits and that combined with the new people I assumed that maybe the restaurant was under new owners. I however will not rate on one visit. Yesterday I again visited Tin Loong and again was disappointed. My dining partner had chicken Chow Mien and say it was not that good and gave me a piece of chicken to taste and didn't care for it and could not even describe it as being chicken. I decided to have the buffet which was disappointing they two soups were good as were the other dishes but sadly the three meat dishes were basically the same in color and taste. The vegetable dish was fine, so in a nutshell the buffet was good but lacked variety. The dessert section was as any other Chinese buffet. I go to Chinese buffets quite often and pay a few dollars more and have a much more variety of foods as seafood(clams, shrimp and mussels some even have sushi (on the buffet while Tin Loong has it as a separate charge). There is also a Hibachi area that I have not tried, therefore I will not rate. All in all I will give three stars however I will look elsewhere. I give the service a better rating because they were evidently short staffed and the waitstaff was trying. The food....we had hibachi which was "supposed " to be better. The chef tried - he was friendly but the cooking was horrid. He poured some sort of garlic/salt so heavily that's all I could taste. He let the grill get too hot and it burned the oil/butter and then everything else tasted burnt. It tasted greasy and old. My husband ordered filet and he ended up giving him just steak- the quality was disappointing. The restaurant is an old cabin but it's dingy, dirty and the "bar" is empty with two coolers that had zero drinks. The whole place is filthy and that itself is enough to make you go running. We were hesitant to try this place based on the reviews, but we really wanted hibachi so we decided to try it. We had great service, a funny chef, and good food. The ginger salad dressing was phenomenal. I noticed that another reviewer mentioned the salad "barely qualified" as a salad, and that reviewer also criticized the clear onion soup. Both were in line with every other hibachi restaurant we've eaten at, although the soup here was a bit too salty. I had the chicken and my husband had the steak and chicken. They were great, and the ginger dipping sauce was yummy. Prices are on par with most other hibachi restaurants - I think the chicken hibachi was $17 and the combo was $22. read more

First time visit, food was great, service was great and everything appeared to be very clean. We ordered the 3 roll sushi special, very good, crab Rangoon very good as was the edamame. We also ordered the steak hibachi dinner for two it was also very good, the only thing we would do different would be to order our meal after we were finished with our appetizers as they are very fast at bringing the food (not a bad problem really but our main dish got cold while trying to eat the apps). Ah the Tin Loong, you can barely call this "Asian" food, more like food from Walmart...out of a cardboard box. The plates where disgusting, stale, and tasteless. I wouldn't feed this to a dog for fear of poisoning it. My father was sick the entire night after eating this, so was my mother. I'd advise against eating here at all costs. read more

Its under new owners and we've noticed that its gotton alot better. First they have been doing some cleaning especially the bathrooms. Second its a much better atmosphere owners are very friendly. And third most of all the food is great they have a lunch buffet with an assortment of chinese and american food. On Sundays its a much bigger variety. Theyre closed on Tuesdays. The buffet is till 3. Next time we go were going to try the hibashi and watch them cook our meal in front us. Oh and they have a sushi chef if thats what u like. Coming from 4 and 5 star restaurants in chicago we know good food. My fav is the fried donuts for desert. read more

Swung by Saturday night about 6:30. Lot was paced full. The place aesthetically is log cabin, like Lincon Log cabin. Looks like maybe a pancake house in Gatlinburg or maybe a BBQ joint. Nope. Chinese and Hibachi. The Hibachi side had a wait. The Chinese side was immediate. We took immediate seating. All the normal Chinese artwork is on the log cabin walls. the decorative glass dividers as well. It is quite a mixture, then toss a flat-screen tv randomly on the wall way up high. As we slid into the booth- the seats were wet enough to literally soak my jeans. We slid out, grabbed the napkin that had out silverware in it, and dried the seats. the table was even wetter. standing water. we asked for more napkins, dried the table, the white napkins turned yellow. We ordered spring rolls. A waitress brought them out- 4 in a bowl, with the orange sauce in a smaller bowl, stacked on top of the spring rolls. SO the bottom of the sauce bowl was sitting on the spring rolls. Kinda gross! Orange sauce was not too good, but the small spring rolls were good. The egg foo young was enormous and very good. we had it without the gravy. General Tsao was also good. Lady drops the bill on the plate in a little tray. We had never been there before, so I placed my card on the tray. Turns out you pay at the front on the way out. That would have been a good thing to know before sitting there waiting for her to come back. Overall- a weird mix of structures and decor, so-so waitress and hostesses, but a lot of food that was pretty decent for the money. Will we be back? Nah. read more

Only place open late on a week night so thought we'd have to "settle", but we're pleasantly surprised by how clean, spacious and great tasting everything was. Due to the current market they weren't able to offer us their normal specials and menu, but still went above and beyond to make our experience the best. We've driven past this place a lot and it always looks packed so we stopped for lunch. First the lunch buffet is not labelled so it's sort of a point and pray. Sushi is NOT included and only available a la cart. No big deal, I ordered sushi and my husband had the buffet. I had pretty low expectations on the sushi and was still disappointed....taste less and the rice for the rolls was a weird consistency, not the normal sushi rice. The buffet was meagre to say the least and more akin to prison food. Dried out rice, and "meat" that looked like it had been around a while. Actually, prison food might have been a step up! If you are looking for quality food, sadly this isn't it. If you are looking for cheap with bathroom inducing intestinal distress then ding ding ding you have a winner!! read more

This restaurant has quite the variety. They offer both Chinese and Japanese food. The sushi was amazing, the Eel Roll was very good. Our server was extremely kind and handled our very large table well. Unfortunately heir boss who appeared to be the Main restaurant owner was very unkind even yelling at our waiter in front of us. This place looks like a small Asian restaurant, but when you walk through the doors you are greeted by the most amazing staff. This place has the creamiest, freshest foods, and the best staff. This is simply the worst buffet I've ever been to. Avoid it at all costs. B Heath rating seemed generous. 4 adults and 2 kids and it cost us $80. Nobody had a second plate because the food was SO BAD. Much of the produce in the dishes was spoiled and the trays were so loose fitting in the buffet that several of us burned our hands on the steam leaking out. Yes, this place is disgusting. Literally, the worst Chinese buffet place I've ever been to...and I've sadly been to many throughout my life (stupid Chinese bus tours!!). I can't remember the exact prices they were charging for the buffet but it was something ridiculous like 12.99 for dinner and the buffet looked DISGUSTING. There was a lot of food that looked like it had been sitting there for quite some time. I actually opt-ed for a cooked dish (Shrimp and Broccoli) which was drenched in sauce and not too great either. Overall, poor choice on our behalf but to their credit, we were a group of 12+ indecisive people so this was our best choice at 8PM and they were very accommodating for a group our size. We read the reviews prior to stopping in but chose to try it based on a local's recommendation but mostly because 99% of everything else was closed on a Monday evening. HEED MY WARNING and go to Taco Bell or literally anywhere else for a better meal. We had hibachi because we thought you couldn't mess up hibachi. We were wrong. The salad was the best part and it was barely legal to call it salad. The soup was beige flavorless water and had one mushroom slice accompanied by two small slices of green onion. We ordered a shared filet and lobster hibachi with fried rice. The fried rice was blah at my best description followed by a variety of vegetables that were equally blah. The main course of lobster and filet were so salty that we could barely eat any of it. Also, the filet had a gamey taste that I couldn't quite recognize, but I'm sure I'll pay for it later. I was looking forward to the fortune cookies at the end of it all and even they were gross. Mine came broken in the wrapper with no fortune. I didn't open it for fear of additional bad luck. The final kicker was when my lovely girlfriend went to use the restroom on the way out, only to find all three stalls filled with the undigested meals the previous guests weren't lucky enough to keep in before they left the restaurant. I hate writing bad reviews because the hibachi chef was very nice, just not skilled because he either under or over seasoned everything. Don't come to the mountains of Georgia to eat hibachi. It's been a few years since I have eaten at A Tin Loong, my first time being many years ago when they still offered a buffet. Back then the food was fine. I enjoyed their special made sushi rolls when we had dined there a couple of times and ordered from the sushi bar. This evening however was a new experience. Having not been in quite some time not knowing what to expect, we sat in the Chinese area of the restaurant. We ordered appetizers of Crab Rangoon and fried dumplings. Both were absolutely wonderful! I have eaten many of both of these and these were excellent! I then ordered the pork egg rolls and they also were delicious. They reminded me of the ones I would get back home in NJ on my much break. My entree was shrimp with black bean sauce! I was so impressed! I told the kitchen staff it reminded me of the one I used to order at WoHop in China Town in NYC! If I closed my eyes when I was eating it I could almost picture myself there. My son ordered the curry chicken which he loved and said he would order again and my husband order the chef special Happy Family which had seafood and chicken in it. He also enjoyed his entree. The prices were a little high, but the quality and portions adequately made up the difference. I would definitely say that this is a fine dining high quality Chinese restaurant with a casual flair. Not good at all. My wife objected to going here. She was right, I was wrong. We had eaten in this building some years ago. It was a barbq or something. Now it is Chinese Japanese. Has a buffet which we avoided, as they are generally bad. Ordered a beef dish and a pork dish. Both stir fried. Came with egg roll and cream cheese in a fried wonton wrapper. The egg roll was served without sauce. When asked, the waitress brought a mustard sauce, homemade and probably the best thing we ate, and plum sauce in little plastic packages. The egg roll was quite bad. The pork and beef dishes, ordered without MSG, both contained MSG. We ordered hot, and it was hot with little red peppers. I believe both sauces were canned and other than being hotmwere really tasteless. I would suggest NOT EATING HERE. read more
