Cool dessert spot! My girl was craving durian ice cream and went here all the way from Irvine to get this (well maybe its just an excuse to see me tho lol). The place looks like an ordinary boba/ ice cream spot cafe from the inside and out. The chairs were a little pack so not really for larger crowds of people. The ambiance is pretty chill though at night and definitely had fun convos with her when we're eating and drinking our desserts. She ordered Durian ice cream cause for some reason she loves durian (never knew a person that loves durian like she does). The fruit started to grow to me as well and started to appreciate this stinky fruit. Their ice cream version made it possible and its delicious. They did an awesome job making it a flavorful dessert. I think the person that helped us was the owner and he was very patient, honest and informative. This "boba" place is a refreshing twist on other traditional/typical places. KuteKook was such a pleasant fruit dessert spot! I've never been to a Vietnamese dessert spot like this before, but I'm really glad our friend brought us here! Hubby and I ended up sharing the Vietnamese yogurt drink Purple Rice Yogurt and it was so good--perfectly balanced between sweet and sour, super refreshing, and surprisingly filling thanks to the yogurt. It has hints of ube in it. I didn't really get the purple rice taste. It also had oval, clear/beige jellies in it and it was fun to chew. I definitely don't think I would be able to finish 1 on my own since the yogurt makes it quite heavy. Our 6-year-old got the strawberry ice cream, and you could immediately tell it was made fresh. It didn't taste overly processed at all, and he absolutely loved it (which says a lot ). Shoutout to our friend for bringing us here--trying new places like this is always fun, and this one didn't disappoint. The inside has a cool purple theme throughout the furniture and walls, giving it a fun, relaxed vibe. It's a nice spot to kick back and hang out with friends. Parking was easy since the lot is pretty big, which is always a plus. The worker was also very kind and patient while we took our time figuring out what to order, which we really appreciated. 3.5/5 stars for me, would be maybe 4 if their hours weren't so inconvenient. My days off are Monday and Tuesday and I'd be willing to try here a few more times if they didn't open at 5pm. Seems like such an odd and random hour to open a tea shop. I'd expect these hours from a crawfish joint/korean bbq place. I often like to grab a fun drink after lunch (1-2pm) and this is probably the first shop I've encountered (and I've tried almost all boba/tea shops around here and surrounding cities) that opens so late. We came at 1pm the first time, not even considering that they wouldn't be open at that hour and had to come back in the evening. I likely won't be returning to this spot although their other drinks seem interesting, hours are just way too inconvenient. It definitely can't hurt gaining more business by operating at earlier hours like every other tea shop and I hope they can consider opening earlier throughout the week for the folks who don't want a dessert drink right before or after dinner. What I tried: durian ice cream, Durian Mung Bean drink, and Purple Rice Yogurt drink. Came right at 5pm when they opened on a Monday. Durian ice cream: 4/5, it's good if you love durian (which my mom does). Not as creamy as the Costco one, my mom said if it was as creamy while keeping the same durian intensity, it'd be number 1. The durian flavor is a lot more prominent in the ice cream here vs costco's one which we appreciate. Durian mung bean 2.5/5: we looked forward to this after seeing how strong the ice cream was and this fell short for us. Very light durian flavor, mung bean overpowered it entirely. Wouldn't get this again. Purple Rice drink: 4/5, very unique concept and execution. Creamy, the rice pieces were fun to eat. Service was okay, the older tanned man man with glasses (I think the owner?) wasn't the most welcoming guy, not really any smiles or anything. They also had a homeless man laying/sleeping in the parking spot right in front of their store so we parked further away to leave him undisturbed. read more

The drink was a little bit expensive at eight dollars, but it wasn't too sweet and it had a lot of coconut inside. Super delicious and will definitely be coming back when I want to splurge on a eight dollar drink. Been meaning to try this place after I see it consistently pop-up as one of the higher rated dessert places in Garden Grove on Yelp. Came on a Friday evening and it was a pretty quiet. Their menu is extensive! They have Vietnamese yogurt drinks, coconut drinks, milk tea boba.. but I think they are most known for their house made ice cream. They have 7-8 flavors, many of them Asian-inspired like durian, coconut ube, matcha, etc. The ordering is a little unclear but most of their ice cream flavors are sold in pre-packaged half pint containers for $6-8 (not freshly scooped), although they do have some other flavors like mango that ARE freshly scooped for $7 for 2 scoops. I appreciated the video they were playing inside the shop that showed their ice cream making process. Everything is house made with fresh REAL ingredients, which was super cool to see!! The ice cream isn't going to be super creamy since it is not freshly scooped, but taste-wise it was really high quality. I got the matcha ice cream and the matcha flavor was really strong and tasty. One of the better matcha ice cream I've had from a shop. -1 star because they really should be doing freshly scooped ice cream for all of their flavors, plus have the option to have pre-packaged ice cream to buy to go. I think if they really market their ice cream they can really get big because it is clear their ice cream is high quality with unique flavors.
