went on saturday to get a coverup as well as my husband getting a tattoo. talked with Trent Riley he told us to come back at 9:15pm which we did. He took his time even ran down the street to 7eleven for alcohol, didnt start my husbands tattoo until after midnight. It turned out well a simple tattoo, then mine came. I sent an image of a lily, which we discussed darkening the center with shading to hide the word we were covering. Put the stencil on then he left to smoke in the bathroom before beginning, said he always does before work, and my husbands tattoo coming out well i didnt think it would an issue, no judgement. Till it came to end of my session he said he wanted to add white ink, so i went to look in the mirror (tattoo is on my a**) and was in shock at what i was looking at. I mean you could'nt even tell what it was just dark black ink. We asked questions he said to come back for a touchup and white ink, we asked if he could clean off the remaining ink on my skin he said use the soap in the bathroom then handed my husband the second skin to put on me. At this point is was past 3am so we paid thinking it would be okay. Ive never encountered such a rude artist who couldn't handle admitting they messed up. On top of this the owner who i called to speak with on everything was rude and unhelpful saying he couldn't do anything, specifically saying "what do you want me to do" needless to say dont go here unless you want to pay hundreds to get ink fixed! Also side note to think about there was a cockroach in the bathroom and Trent was touching a chip bag, eating with gloves on then touching all his surfaces where he tattooed us. read more

Been in a few times now to get inked by Angi. Her pink little section is so precious. She's always in on time and very communicative about her schedule. So easy to book with and her lines are so clean. I'm a color girly but her black and shading comes out so fresh. She makes such good quality art on top of being fast. Soooo, my husband and I decided to get each other tattoos for Christmas. It was only after Christmas did I actually begin searching for an artist/shop and didn't expect to find any appts before the new year. Welp! I didn't have to search around too long before Hollee came to us with open arms with multiple dates including one in just 2 days . Uhhhmazing! Parking is on the street as the shop is on the main road, or there is a structure on 43rd with apparently a low day rate of $5. Our appt was at 6pm on a Thursday so it wasn't bad and found street parking in the neighborhood. The shop is welcoming, clean, bright, with multiple suites for the artists to do their thang. Cute front of the shop has hand selected new era hats, pins, shirts, supreme wear, and other cool trinkets. The vibe is chill and friendly, some siiiick murals of Kobe and Nipsey down the hallway. Again, we both got our tattoos from Hollee. Super personable and nice, taking great care and time to ensure the design is what we wanted and placed properly. By the way, we wanted a chicken drumette and flat for each of us. Sure, I guess not the typical ink you see out there, but I make this a point because I later find out that she's never drawn/tattooed chicken wings hahahah! A day or two prior to our appt, she asks what type of art style we were looking for and we gave a vague "more illustrative, kinda realistic, not too cartoony" answer. We saw what she drew out and YES, perfect, exactly what we wanted! On point, dude, on point. She's got a GREAT eye and such an amazing artist!! Overall getting tattooed went extremely smooth for the both of us. 1hr total for the both of us for our ~4-5in tattoos. Holly is the best!!! I saw her work and fell in love!!! I was starting to dislike my back because my tattoos were all scattered. I told her what I wanted and she delivered. She covered my back with a beautiful picture that blended well with my other tattoos. She definitely exceeded my expectations! I love my tattoo so much that I actually cried. If you're coming in to get a piercing, do yourself a favor and ask for Cynthia! She's the best in the trade. I'd go as far as to say she's the best in all of San Diego. Cynthia has done 10 out of my 13 piercings, each one has healed effortlessly (most of them cartilage). She's also done my jewelry changes without hesitation. My favorite part of the experience is how comfortable she makes you feel. Contrary to other piercers, I've never felt taken advantaged of with Cynthia. Her prices are more than fair and she often has piercing specials like 2 for $60 which include delicate placements like nipples and tragus. Please don't go get a tattoo by the artist SIP (Sierra Phillips) at Kutthroat Tattoo; right next to Kutthroat Social Club in San Diego on university ave. When I got my tattoo done by her I had tried reaching out with a basic care question about my tat. She responded a day later on Instagram which is the only form of communication these artist use. They don't use telephones or email unfortunately. Flash forward to months after having my tattoo. Now I have medical conditions I will not talk about specifically, but now my doctors are asking me to provide verification and proof of my tattoo at that shop and the artist is not even properly cooperating. In my final message to her on Instagram I asked if she could just provide me with the proper shop number and email. Since she doesn't feel like communicating with me, I would rather communicate with the owner of the shop or corporate. This is unacceptable customer service. Especially because my livelihood is on the line. As I was left on seen, the Instagram user and tattoo artist continued to post on their story but continued to ignore me and forget about a customer service request. I am highly frustrated. My tattoo artist has moved here!!! Her name is Hollee and when I say she is my FAVORITE ARTIST EVER. She's the first female in the US to tattoo me and SHE NEVER DISAPPOINTS. When living in California she helped me curate my entire back sleeve in Japanese style and even educated on the style. When I say you can talk to her about any and everything and she is soooo down to earth. I love her so much. So much so, that after I moved from California to Ohio for Nursing school, when my grandma passed away, I flew back out to California to get my grandmas tribute tattoo done. I have ALWAYS given Hollee the idea in my head, but FU creative freedom. I feel she (amongst other artists) appreciate this a lot bc after all, it's there job to make a tattoo individual and unique! And something you'll love forever! I've searched high and low in Ohio and still have found no one. If I want something, I'll probably fly back to her. She also (imo) isn't "heavy handed." UNPROFESSIONAL!!! DO NOT GO HERE ! Literally the most unprofessional people I've had the displeasure of working with. After having a consultation with one of their artist, who told me that from that point to the point of our appointment (which was two weeks away) she will be drawing out my tattoo and will give me updates and send me pictures. I never received any updates or pictures even though I texted and asked for them. On the day of the appointment she finally responded after several days of not responding finally messaged me to tell me she wasn't done and needed more time and that she needed to push our appointment an hour. Which I agreed to then 3 hours later tried tp reschedule for a different day even though I made it clear that the day we scheduled for was the only day I would have free for awhile. & when I told her this she agreed to push my appointment back THREE more hours. Then less than an hour before my appointment she messaged me again to cancel my appointment with some very unrealistic and nonsense excuse. Then when I asked for a refund completely ignored me, read my message until the next day telling me no. & when I said that I would want a refund or for someone else to do my tattoo she proceeded to tell me no. The entire interaction was completely unprofessional and it was very blatantly obvious that the artist never started on my tattoo and was just trying to by herself time to do it last minute but couldn't meet the time of our appointment. I am still trying to get my money back 4 days later. Even though I've tried to call the shop several times to speak to a manager and no one ever answers the phone. DO NOT GO HERE ! They're scammers and obviously pull this kind of unprofessional act all the time. UPDATE: so it's been just about a month and I have since gotten in contact with the owner of the shop who has said he was going to talk to the artists about returning my money which he did and the artist said they were going to give me my money but it's been a two weeks since then and I still haven't received my money. I have messaged the owner several times and even asked if he could refund me and work something out with his artists and have gotten no results. so not only are the artists liars and untrustworthy, so is the owner. read more

I had a consultation to go over my design after two months of waiting with Saira she didn't show. Then two days after was my actual appointment she booked a consultation at 2pm and my appointment was at 1pm and a full day session. I waited for an hour outside her shop and called her 4 times, texted, dm, and emailed her. Didn't hear from her. She read my dm and didn't reply. She then texted me that she was overwhelmed and al that but was posting on her insta story. At one point her story had her "kidnapping some kid and tattooed him." The same night she didn't show up. After losing my original tattoo artist Joel to cancer, I thought that I was never going to have the chance to be able to get tattooed . Not because theirs not any artist available or anything like that . The trust that's needed with this person is not like any other they can easily make you or brake you ..the skill that is required in my opinion has to be at least 10yrs to even consider getting tattooed by the artist . Well it had been 12 yrs since I last got tattooed like I mentioned my original go to person past away very sudden . My brother and his wife introduced me to Holly (@hollee.ink) last year in mid November of 2021 and set me up on the 15th for my appointment. I was very excited and nervous at the same time since I only had one artist in my life to even compared what I was going to experience. Yes people want to be all tuff and talk a lot but once that needle touches the skin there's no tapping out Back where I'm from so my experience with Holly went as follows . Her setup was very professional and I could still smell the cleaner . Very clean and good temperature for getting tattooed , the reason I say this is because it matters when it's going into the 6th hour into the session. You want to be as comfortable as possible to concentrate your energy on the pain you have to block out and turn into something pleasurable . Honestly I could not believe how light her hand was it was something so amazing . I feel like Holly knows exactly how to deep to go without causing trauma to the skin that is not necessary . I did not bleed once . I got my chest for my first piece of Mary and later Jesus . (Next day ) I get a lot of compliments for my tattoos that were done by my first artist . I let them see what Holly created and it's always the same ... Speechless . The realism and depth plus the perfect amounts of tones of shading that she creates is What brings her art to life . I have since gotten the chance to work with Her on many occasions and it's always a pleasure . Do not waste your time with this tattoo shop most unprofessional shop I've seen. If I could give less than a star I would. Made an appointment with Saira for yesterday July 9th 2022 she never showed up for the appointment nor answered her phone call or text. Never once texted me back about the inconvenience. Second I told the guy I had an appointment he was lost confused and had no idea what to do as he knew she wasn't there. Kept asking me if I was sure if I had an appointment with her. After waiting an hour plus we walked out and left and now I will be looking for a new tattoo shop to get my half sleeve done! Obviously she nor did the shop want the business or the money. Worst tattoo shop I've seen and most disorganized tattoo shop. Very unprofessional. Keep in mind she and her assistant charged me and my sister $200 and $150 for the deposit and tattoo. So where do I start, it first started off as getting a consultation with this girl. I went in talked about what I wanted whatever, I then send her 100$ deposit to secure my spot for my tattoo appointment. She proceeded to say she'll sketch out some ideas for me and send them either 3 days prior to my appointment or the day of, I didn't get not one picture from her. The day comes of the appointment she texts me and tells me "her dog ran out" and cancels the appointment for the next day, at 11:30am I'm there at the shop waiting texting her that I was there, didn't get no response I waited 30 mins for her I knew she wasn't going to show up. I let her know that was very unprofessional of her to leave me hanging like that after giving her my deposit. I then ask to cancel my whole appointment and give my deposit back, she did not answer me until the next day for her to tell me she'll give me my money either the night of the next day or whenever she has it so therefore she spent my deposit that was for my tattoo like wtff!! It took her about 3 days to receive my money from her. I later find out that she was at an event the night she was originally supposed to do my tatt but blocked me from seeing her story! It's a shame I have to write this review about Saira because her work really is great. However, her professionalism and general care about others is extremely poor and l would never recommend anyone put themselves through trying to work with her. She was late our consult which was a red flag but I gave her the benefit because I really valued her skills. I booked an appointment for 6 weeks away and 15 minutes before our session she texted me saying she was boarding a flight to San Diego and wouldn't be able to make it. Took a day for her to respond to me telling her I took the entire day off for this and therefore lost $800. Again I gave her the benefit of the doubt and wanted to work with her, however she obviously had no intension of making things right as she quoted me an wildly ridiculous price for the tattoo (which should have been a discount based on what she said) and then proceeded to take 3 days before responding again. Alright where do I begin. So today me and my friends made appointments to get our noses pierced. We show up waited for a while bre or however the hell you spell it, comes out says she is running behind had to work on a huge piece alone blah blah blah she's here til 9 she gets our number says she will text when she's done says it's gonna be two hours. A little over two hours pass nothing. We hit her up since she had time to post a blunt on social media. Nothing we show up and are sitting there for like 15 mins til someone says something to us even though they passed by us multiple times. Homegirl sees my friend then walks back into her room. She sends a co worker out saying an emergency came up and she has to go and that we should dm her and make ANOTHER appointment. This is the second time she flakes on my friend btw first time was she didn't have the jewelry balls or some shit. Babygirl if you didn't want to take our money or even do them at all just say so SIMPLE instead of wasting our time and all the other shops are closed. I wanted to love this place because it's in city heights I live here, it's a dope shop the artwork the vibe but when you are gonna hire artists who do this to people it's bad for business. read more
