Inconsistent is the best word I can use to describe my experience with the Kwik Kar location on Friendswood Drive. This is over a 15 year period. The last two times I took my truck here the engine shield under my truck was not reinstalled correctly. The first time, one of the clips was not fastened. The second time, two of them were not fastened. Our last experience with this location was them telling my wife that they do not change oil on Volkswagens. Really? It isn't like VW is some exotic car brand with only a few models on the road. I understand that the filters may not always be in stock but there is an auto parts store down the street that delivers. The other Kwik Kar location on Edgewood is much better. I will not be going back to the one on Friendswood Drive. read more

First, the young lady that is always there (I believe her name is Ashley) is super friendly and helpful! I love when she is there because she always takes good care of me and my vehicle. However, the new guy they have leading that shop--- what does he actually do? I stopped by for an oil change and he was ASLEEP in his car while the rest of the crew were 10 cars deep in business. Seems like you all need some different leadership in there ASAP! SMH. read more

They don't do any more synthetic blends on oil changes and only use full synthetic. They also charge a flat fee of $110 for any vehicle which is ridiculous. read more

These fools, I have been bringing my 2018 Dodge since I had it, my trailer since 2010, my trucks since 1997, my Bike since 2012. The tint on my truck was factory tint, they were the only ones that I went too, they rejected me after 20 years for the same thing they have been passing me for. Then when they tell me the "kid is doing what he is suppose to". Fine, whatever I left hastingly, they the poncho w/ loud mouth told me to "Get the F*%K out of there". I then stopped put my truck in Park and walked up to him and asked him what he said, he said "leave, I'll call the police". I offered my radio and said I can because I work with the Police, then their story and attitude changed. Manager came out and apologized for Poncho's attitude. For years, I have taken my cars in for Vehicle Registration inspections and was satisfied with the results at Kwik Kar. Last year, I had my high school age son take his old Ford in for a vehicle registration inspection. Prior to the inspection, I completed significant engine work including new plugs, plug wires, fuel injectors, timing chain, sprockets...the works! Using AutoEnginuity, I confirmed that there were no Diagnostic Trouble Code set. With no DTC there can be no CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. My son phoned me from Kwik Kar saying the technician won't pass the vehicle's inspection due to DTC fault codes. The technician did offer that he could get it to pass but that it would require $100 CASH. Since this behavior is unacceptable and with so many Test Stations to choose from, I take all my business elsewhere. read more

Kwik Kar let 4 quarts of oil leak out of my wife's engine on her Hyundai Sonata for improper oil pan bolt installation. When she went in to question why her car lost oil, Kwik Kar charged her $100 for an oil change and to put a washer on the oil pan bolt. Her car doesn't require an oil change until every 7,500 miles. They changed it at less than 3 thousand miles. They didn't own up to the oil leaking out and. charged her for an unnecessary oil change. read more

Do not ever go to this place. They can not even perform a simple tune up. They over tighten my spark plugs and not even 12 hrs after they put them on one blew up and a piece got stuck in the motor. It cost 700 to get it fixed. The owner nor the manager take any responsabilty. My daughter was driving the car when it stalled and she was about to get on the freeway. She could of been killed or caused a serious accident. The worst thing is that the owner and the manager place of the blame on the customer and none on their negligence. read more

Got my oil changed here today. Very fast service but they weren't that busy. They didn't answer the phone when I called to see if they were busy though. Also, there is a cat that sleeps in the waiting room chairs so if you are allergic like I am don't go inside! But overall, good and kwik service. read more

I have been coming here for over 10 years. But all it takes is 1 bad apple (employee) to make me never go back! The young guy got a big black stain on my truck seat. When I called to let him know my hubby will be right back I need them to get it off of the seat, Matt's rude comment was it is an oil change place lady what do you expect of course grease and oil will get on stuff. Wrong answer to tell a paying customer. But then it got worse when my husband is a 29 year First Responder. He had his Fire Dept jacket on. The young guy first said that's not a big deal the stain as big as a baseball. My husband explained to the employee its doesn't matter how small or large it is, its still a stain. The young guy then turned around to another worker and smarted off I guess he thinks he's a big shot and important cause he is wearing that Firemen jacket. Really! First Responders put their life on the line each day and this guy is putting my husband down! I tried repeated calling to talk to the Manager but they say he's not their or he's on vacation. I went to kwick kar lube to have to have, which should have been $35 dollar oil change, and walked out with $135.00 bill! I have a 2012 Mercedes that has 6,000 miles and has not had an oil change before. I originally went in to have my tire pressure check and have them add coolant because I kept getting messages to do so. I thought we'll, while I'm here ill get them to change the oil. Not only did they not change the oil, they supposedly added 9 quarts of synthetic, which it does take, at $35 a quart! There is no way that my car needed that much. They also did not check my tire pressure(they said gage was broke). Did not add coolant until I reminded them. Wow what great service, I wonder if they take advantage of all their customers. I sent my 17 year old son to get an oil change. Unfortunately he picked Friendswood Kwik Kar. A 37.99 oil change ended up costing 73.56 ..when I call for explanation I am told that he asked for Castrol oil and not bulk oil. NOT True, he doesnt know the difference. So Kwik Kar has been servicing all 3 of my vehicles for over 5 years now. Never had a problem and the employees have always been friendly. This past month, my daughter's vehicle began to run roughly and spit white smoke. Over several weeks it got worse and worse. Since the car is under warranty, I took it back to the dealership where they informed me that too much oil was added at the last oil change, causing the oil to overflow into the manifold. 1 week and 435.00 dollars later, I got my car back, running well. When I took the receipt with the work order clearly stating it was Kwik Kars problem to their store, I was told this would be given to the owner and they were sorry for the issue and inconvenience. After 3 weeks of not hearing a word, I finally have to call the manager. Wesely, tells me that the owner will not be refunding the 435 dollars. Says I should have brought the car back to them for proper diagnosis. So, now the dealership is lying? Is Kwik Kar going to pull my engine apart and tell me what is going on? I think not! I have always valued ethics over all else when I deal with companies that provide services for me. Now I and everyone else that reads these reviews will know the ethics of the owner of the Kwik Kar in Friendswood. Listen, mistakes can happen, it is how you handle that mistake that determines how people in our small community will view a person and their business. Of course my family and friends that use this store will be changing their business as well. I fully intend to file this in small claims court, not because it is a lot of money, but because the owner's willful greed and lack of integrity needs to be exposed. And, of course, that exposure would not be complete without an article in the journal about my experience and a written statement to the Better Business Bureau as well. I stopped by today for oil change and state inspection. I was greeted at my car and the guy asked for my insurance I tried to hand him the card but he said just leave it in the car. I asked him if I could leave it and come back in an hour and he said no problem. I returned to pick it up found out NOTHING had been done because they could not remember what to do. I had 2 different people tell me this. The assistant manager was too busy talking on the phone. ( I believe he was the initial contact.) One of the service people walked in I asked for my key back. He starting yelling at me with the fbomb. I again simply asked for my key and he starting yelling at me with the f****** word. I then asked who the manager was the kid on the phone raised his hand still talking on the phone.
