I'm not sure why, but my wife and I have always had our (different) oil change spots. This time around, I tried hers -- 15 Minute Inspection. Glad I did. This place is nondescript. Perhaps it used to be a Sonic back in the day? These days though, it's a combination oil change-inspection-car wash joint with some mechanic work to boot. When I pulled in and parked, I went inside (and out the other door) and told a gentleman (Sayed, I think was his name) that I needed an oil change with Mobile 1 Synthetic. I told him the make and model of my car, and he nodded his head and said "OK." I went back into the waiting room, which is a veritable museum of old automotive brand posters, customer memos and mismatched chairs, and pulled up a cribbage game on my phone. About the time I lost my second consecutive game (damn cheating computer!), the gentleman popped in the door and showed me an air filter that looked like it had gone through a flaring event at one of our local petroleum plants. "Yes, I know," I told him. "I have one in the trunk, so don't worry about it." I really did have one in the trunk ... plus a couple of cabin filters. I try to do the easy things when I can save a few bucks. "No, no," he responded. "I will replace it for free. No worries." At the time I checked out, I asked him to charge me for the air filter, and he refused. "No. I told you I would replace it for free. It only took five minutes. No worries." And with that, he earned my repeat business. Not only for oil changes, but also for inspections, brake pad installations -- and even future air and cabin filter replacements. One more thing ... my oil change was $25 less than my usual peeps charge me. If you read my reviews, you'll know that I'm not always easy to please. My previous oil change place is actually good. Update to Review: During my last visit to 15 minute inspection, I could not help to notice a confirmed pattern of disrespect from the staff members. During my initial 2 visits in the past, I had a suspicion of them being disrespectful to me and valuing/paying more attention to the comments from my male partner rather than myself as a woman. Notably, I recall one of the mechanics mockingly saying the Korean Greeting "Annyeonghaseyo" and making a Japanese hand gesture despite my Asian partner not being of any of those nationalities. We tried to brush this off as a joke; however, this happened twice in a row on separate visits. What led me to update this review is my recent visit alone without my partner. The way they treated me was evidently different and during our interactions, I constantly felt like they were looking down on me. Once I had my car work done, the 2 mechanics were laughingly telling me that my car was on the verge of falling apart. I was displeased to hear this because I had taken my car to the previously (3 weeks ago) to them to get a full fix up so my car shouldn't have been in such a condition during this visit if they had done their job. I pointed this out and the mechanic started making multiple excuses about how I only asked him to fix one thing (which I did not, I asked for a full work up), and he continued to talk down on me. Feeling tired from our conversation and not interested in conversing to be further talked down on, I paid and thanked him for the service he provided and left. While the mechanics here may have reasonable price. I am hesitant to come back due to the way I and my partner were treated. read more

I have been coming here since 2018 for inspections, oil changes and occasional out of warranty maintenance. They have always operated above board, dealt with me honestly and keep us coming back. Today I brought a 2020 Jeep wrangler for an oil change and asked them to check the A/C as it has been not blowing as cold as before. They found the cabin filter needed to be changed and the A/C was working well. They did not charge me but rather told me to go to O'Riley Auto Parts, pick up a filter and only charge me for the oil change. If you need help with your vehicle I would suggest giving them a try! I'm not sure how they got high reviews. I went to this place the first time today for a state inspection. When I arrived, one guy was too busy watching soccer on his phone to help me. He finally acknowledged me and took my keys and insurance paperwork . I went inside and maybe 5 minutes later, another guy came to me and said, "Something is wrong with car! Fix it!" I came outside and he rudely handed me back my keys and insurance paper. I asked him what's wrong with it. He said, "Fix it!" My windshield wipers were now on so maybe he didn't know how to turn them off. I used the opportunity to get back in my car and drove away. I wouldn't trust them with my car. read more

This car wash/inspection place seems pretty janky at first sight, but let me tell you, the mechanics at this place are some of the most honest and best around!! They are also pretty quick. We broke down nearby one time and gave them a call and they actually came to our house to get our car running again. What kind of shop offers that service in this day and age? my car recently had an issue and at another shop they tried to sell me a service for $249. I declined and wanted to get a second opinion. came to 15 Minute inspection and told them that I thought I had an oil leak. they immediately took my car into one of their bays on a lift and found that the oil filter that the other shop had installed was leaking. they replaced the oil filter and only charged me for the filter. These past few years, I have gone to them for all sorts of things ranging from a basic oil change to a engine replacement. The reason why I chose them as my go-to shop is because they are HONEST guys. On multiple occasions, I have inquired about making repairs to my vehicle and was told that the repair is not necessary. While I'm sure other mechanics will blindly take your money and complete the repair, the guys at 15 minute inspection give you their true opinion on what they think you should do with your car. Their troubleshooting skills are also on-point. I have come to them 6-8 times regarding car issues and they diagnose the issue every time. Over these past 4 years, they provided me with great service. At this point, they know my face and my car's history of failures which makes them even more valuable in troubleshooting issues. Must reconsider Initially went in for inspection on my sons car as he just moved into town. Came upon great reviews of this business so I gave it a shot. Set appointment for inspection and also had them look at other issues with car. The recommended new struts and new sway bar bushings. In an effort to save money, I think, they had me drive to Auto Zone for parts. After first trip I had to go back for rear shocks and Bushing which they knew they needed but forgot to tell me. So off I go again to Auto Zone. All seemed fine for a few weeks until my son calls and says one of the front Struts is broke based on 15 Minutes input. He goes to Auto Zone and they tell him it wasn't tightened down. Back he goes to 15 Minute and they still insist it's broke. He takes it to another mechanic and they tighten it down and it's fixed! Really? How hard would it have been to tighten on their own? And how much running around must a customer do!? Needless to say I feel bad I went there and he had to go back. As always you get what you pay for. Lesson learned. read more

I finally found honest, reliable mechanics! 15 Minute Inspection in El Lago/ Seabrook is a great place to get your car inspected or repaired. Our car wobbled and had a check engine light on. They diagnosed it and fixed it for a reasonable price. It wasn't a tire issue. It was more complicated than that but not too difficult for their expertise. On a separate visit, I asked for an inspection. I also asked for the mud guard that attaches underneath to be put on as ours had fallen off from a trip to the beach. We were missing some of the bolts to it. They inspected our car and put on the mud guard attaching it with some of their own new bolts. When we paid the bill, we were shocked to see that they didn't charge us for attaching the mud guard nor for the new bolts. They go the "extra mile" and don't "nickel and dime" you for every little thing and might surprise you by doing something extra for you. Give them a chance. You won't regret it. read more
