These men seem very proud of the company they work for and treated me with respect. The shop manager personally made sure my car issues were corrected. They also apologized for what happened on my first visit and validated my concerns. I was well taken care of and all issues were fixed. I would recommend this shop now. This place is the WORST. Oil change in 2022, they broke the bolts on my skid plate. There was a bit of corrosion as l had just bought the car used, so we gave them a pass. Most recently, l came in for a State Inspection and the man said the car failed because of the parking brake. I asked him to explain and demonstrate so l could get an idea of what needed to be fixed. He proceeded to tell me that while the PARKING brake is applied and you put the vehicle in reverse and step on the gas, it wasn't holding all the way. I use my parking brake frequently, while in PARK on steep hills, and have zero issues. I assume most of us would fail if someone tried to floor our vehicle in reverse, while the parking brake was applied. Not to mention, ever forgotten to take your parking brake off when leaving the house? The vehicle still moves you just get the chime on the dashboard to release it. Unreal. Anyway, l drove 2 minutes down the road and gave someone else my money. read more

Always used this place for a quick oil change and inspection, but will take my business elsewhere. Not sure what changed at this location, but this is now a typical shop that will take advantage of a woman in a heart beat. My wife dropped her vehicle off here today and asked for an oil change and nothing else. She was told that she would receive a call before anything else was done and when they were finished. Before leaving they pulled her cabin air filter even with out request and she was told it was clean. Upon returning to get her vehicle she was charged to change the cabin air filter as well as the engine air filter. When I went in to discuss with the manager he told me she agreed to changing the filters, however this is not true and we simply wanted an oil change like we had done many times before. So I went in just for an inspection, and as I was waiting the tech working on my car came in and asked if I wanted the cabin air filter to be checked. I said no, but they checked it anyways and tried to get me to replace it. I told them no once more and they finished my inspection. When I got back in my car my AC started making this weird rumbling sound that it wasn't making before. My husband called them and the tech told us to come and he would look at it and try to fix it, but we just wanted to know exactly for what and why they took out the filter in the first place. We took out the filter and inspected it, it was dirty but not in need of a change so idk why they took it out after I said not to. My husband took a look at the fan underneath the filter and found a dried lead jammed inside of it. Not sure if they did it on purpose trying to squeeze some extra money out of me. Be careful when you come here. 3 oil changes ago they stripped the oil pan bolt to drain oil. They replaced it. About a week ago I went and one morning I noticed a bug puddle of oil. I took it in and they said they didn't tight the oil filter so oil leaked. Net day car is still leaking oil. I took it back and it was now the screw was leaking oil because they had stripped the oil pan grooves. I need my car for work so the managers said they could replace the pan but I had to pay for it. It's their fault but I have to pay. I need a car so I will now go to corporate office and fight this. read more

Beware of this business. They either have a internal theft issue or are not changing the oil. I have two cars I brought to them for my oil changes. First car after I got my oil changed there while on a business trip oil light came on. In a different city checked and said I had no oil. I was shocked and brought it to their attention at Kwik kar and they apologized and fixed. I thought nothing more than an honest mistake until it happened to my wife's car. I had a coupon for Jiffy Lube but didn't have it with me so I pulled in to see what the price of a synthetic oil change would be at Kwik Kar. The black gentleman told me it was going to be $45. I agreed and got out of the car and they did the oil change. When I went to pay, it was $84. I asked why the price was different and he said that he messed up and gave me the wrong price. It could be because I came on a Sunday morning, but that was the quickest oil change I've ever had. The price was about the same as previous experience I've had at place like Jiffy Lube. For 69 dollars I got a full synthetic oil change and vacuum service, with a full check of tires and fluids. I was in and out in under 20 minutes, so I wasn't in the waiting room long but I did note that it was clean with plenty of seating. read more

My wife took our vehicle to this Kwik Kar location to get a state inspection. The tech told her the car battery died during the inspection process and, as a result, the sensors in the car had reset causing four of them to trigger "not ready" readings, so the vehicle inspection couldn't be completed. The tech then told her she needed a new battery and tried to sell her one. She declined the new battery, knowing the battery in the vehicle was only about 6-months old, and the tech said he "would jump the car so it could start". The tech told her to go ahead and get a new battery, drive the car 50-60 miles so the sensors would reset, then come back to complete the inspection. She paid the cost of inspection and was told when she returned the re-inspection would not cost anything. That night, I tested the battery. It showed a full charge (12.7V). I took it to Advanced Autoparts and got it tested to be sure. Sure enough, it passed. I then tested it each day for the next 3 days and confirmed it held the charge. Four days later, after driving over 100 miles, she returned to Kwik Kar to reattempt the inspection. Again, she was told the car did not pass due to 2 Not Ready sensors. Initially, she was told she "might need to drive the car another 100 miles for the sensors to reset". Then, the same tech looked at the paperwork from the previous visit and told her he "had to test something else". When he returned, the tech told her the battery died again during the inspection saying it was a bad battery that needed to be replaced. She told him that we had the battery tested prior to the visit and it was fine, and hadn't given her any issues. He then went back to the car. When he returned, he told her the cause of the battery dying was the alternator. Knowing the alternator had been replaced a month prior, she told him that didn't sound right. After questioning the tech, he proceeded to flip back and forth talking about the battery and alternator, giving her conflicting information like he was purposely trying to confuse her. At this point, my wife called me to talk to the tech. During our conversation, the tech could not answer my questions about what he thought caused a perfectly good battery to "die" during the course of a state inspection. He repeatedly tried to speak over me, so I asked him to pass me to his manager. The manager got on the phone and immediately started trying to explain what was wrong with the alternator. At this point, I was fed up. I told him to put the battery back in the vehicle so my wife could leave. The next day, we took the vehicle to a garage to have the alternator checked. It passed without issue. We then took it to a third garage for a state inspection, and it passed without issue. We took our Mercury Grand Marquis into the Kwik Kar Lube & Tune on FM 528 in Webster (near the corner of Bay Area and 528 - almost Friendswood) to get a fuel filter changed. About a week later, we started smelling gas, then it started leaking from the fuel filter where it joined the fuel line. We took it to a Ford dealer and they found the fuel line crimped near the filter. According to their mechanic, whoever replaced the filter clamped the line too hard (probably while removing the old filter). It took several days, but the crimp led to increased pressure in the line to get enough fuel to the engine, which finally blew the seal at the filter inlet. Cost of repair: $600. Reason: the fuel line itself costs just under $300, and it takes 3 hours @ $100/hr to replace since they have to drain the tank to get the line installed. When I called Kwik Kar to ask if they stood behind their work, initially they said they would. However, I just was told that all they would do is reimburse us for the fuel filter installation. DO NOT TRUST YOUR CAR TO THIS SHOP! read more

I seriously don't know where to start. As I drive up to the "business" I don't see anyone outside ready for potential customers. That was a strike 1 in my book because if your business is open I personally feel like there should always be someone visible. So I pull into the bay and one guy specifically tells me that i may go in if I want but I can also stay inside my vehicle. I replied I will definitely stay in my vehicle. As i sit in my car i hear and see a couple of the mechanics just being immature with their use of language. My mom cursed like a sailor(in the privacy of her on own home and not in front of her place of business) and these guys here would take the win against her. So that is a strike 2 for me. One of the cursing mechanics then tells me to go inside to give them the rest of my information. I asked if I could stay in my car( because unlike these ******* I take the corona virus serious, I also don't want to increase the likely hood of any of my patients getting the virus.) and he literally said no it will take more time to go back and fourth to your car. I was so shocked and flabbergasted. This was definitely STRIKE 3. PEOPLE OF KWIK KAR I AM AWARE THAT WE MUST GO ON WITH OUR LIVES BUT THAT STILL DOESN'T MEAN THAT THIS VIRUS IS DONE AND OVER WITH. HAVE RESPECT FOR CUSTOMERS AND YOURSELVES. Get everybody on parallel planes and not perpendicular ones because this could have easily been avoided. read more

These guys are crooks! Stay away from here. I went there to get an oil change and when they finished, a leak magically appeared in my AC system and there was freon leaking out. The guy who changed my oil "took a look at it" for me and said I needed to replace my compressor, condenser, and various other parts. They said it would cost about $1600 to fix including parts and labor. Keep in mind my AC was working perfectly before I went in to get my oil change. I don't want to accuse these guys of breaking my AC on purpose (it's definitely possible though), but they were definitely trying to make me replace parts that didn't need to be replaced. I took my car to another shop and they fixed it up for about $400. They replaced the manifold hose (which was cracked) and refilled the freon. read more

First visit here and weeks later I notice an oil spot under my truck in the driveway which was previously 100% spot free. I took it back in and after looking at it two workers gave me some garbled explanation about the oil drain plug needing some special gasket and basically they wouldn't do anything about it. This is an F250, not some exotic car. The manager over heard us and came out and intervened. He was awesome and without questions made them look at it again and this time they reseated the drain plug and it looked they used some gasket material. One of the workers seemed PO'd that the manager intervened and gave me an attitude when he pulled my truck out and walked away. At least the leak was fixed. The MAIN reason I am writing this is I just went for another oil change at a competitor and they immediately called me out to point out the oil fill tube cap sitting on top of the radiator where it had been since the last time the Kwik Kar Klowns touched it.
