I come to this place to get my oil change done all the time. I am lucky enough that I usually go when no one else is there. Today was the same. As soon as I pulled up they took my car back to work on it. (They were working on a van for some company and mine.) It took about 30 min, which is longer than I'm used to waiting cause they're pretty fast. No biggie though, they have a tv in the lounge you can watch. I paid and was out of there pretty fast. I have been to this location numerous times for oil changes and inspections. I went in a couple weeks ago and they told me my brake pads were at 1%. I told them that I changed the rotors myself and I thought I changed the brake pads but I could be wrong. He gave me the price and I said no. I ordered the pads and just pulled off my tires to see the pads that I did in fact put on my car last year. Here is a picture of my pads with "1% left". I was going back today to get my car approved and when i called at 5:47 they said their machine shuts off at 5:45. That is a lie. All they had to do was look at the tire and the light. Price changes all the time for a break job three different prices in one day

This is one of the worst experiences I've had at this location. I come to this locatin because it's near my house in Lake dallas, Tx. So to come in and have the manager on duty pull me outside to say my brakes are at 5%, No coolant. Then prints out my ticket saying differently! And lied about some of the things on his service check list printout as being done. The windows were NOT washed, it was NOT vacuumed, was told the breather was dirty. When I ask the two guys in the bay for the manager. When he comes out he try's to convince me that the system is set up like that to tell customers the same things. But they bring you outside to show you something different than what the print out says. So now my faith in this location is No More! read more

Don't trust this place at all. Every time I come in for an oil change they try to upsell me over and over again and never seem to give me what I ask for. When I took my last car in, the very next day I was out of coolant. Imagine my horror when I'm on the highway and my temperature gauge starts maxing out. Pulled over immediately, thought it was pretty weird but I topped it off myself and continued driving, no big deal, until I ran out of coolant 30 minutes later. Got it inspected somewhere else and I had a crack in my water valve causing a leak. VERY bizarre it WASN'T leaking before I took it into Kwik Car. I'm completely convinced these guys either fucked with my car so maybe I'd come back to give them more business, or they have absolutely no idea what they're doing, to a degree that's hazardous to their client vehicles. Whatever the case, if you value your car, avoid this place like the plague. read more

Staff are friendly and fast, however I think there is a lack of integrity at this location. I feel like staff were trying to cover up multiple mistakes with lines of BS.... Luckily no harm done this time except the mess of oil in my driveway, but please be aware. As background, I have a brand new house as of a month ago and a brand new oilpan replaced in September. No issues with oil at the new house or with the new oilpan since move in on 10/2. On 11/9 pm I brought my car in for an oil change and taillight change out. They did the oil change and told me to come back the next day for the taillight. I went home and came out a few hours later to at least a quart of oil in my driveway actively dripping. I brought the car back, assuming someone left a plug off. It happens, we deal with it. It's really not the end of the world. I had to get the taillight done the next day anyway. On 11/10 am I pick up the car, they did an excellent job on the taillight. I was told there was no active leak and that they did 3 or 4 different things to ensure no active leak. I show them the stain in pictures and the staff say "wow." We move on. I go to work. I come home after work, park a foot or so away from the stain and kitty litter on the driveway "just in case" it's not dealt with i can see if the leak still exists. On 11/11 am, about to leave for work and the stain is larger and coming from under my car. It's completely soaked the 35lbs of kitty litter. I call Kwik Trip, they insist they fixed the leak on 11/10 and it's clean. I drive in to get the car looked at again. Show the pictures again (of my slanted driveway). I get asked if my driveway is slanted because that could be an issue... Also told that whoever put the new oilpan in didn't seal the dipstick tube. The leak was from the tube, not the plugs or of course anything that Kwik Kar had done. So I drive it over to the shop that installed the new pan. They hold it overnight. On an incline. No leaks. Kwik Kar fixed the problem the third time around I guess? It truly sounds to me like it was overfilled or drain plug cross-threaded, or the oil filter wasn't installed correctly and then because I was in to get my taillight fixed the next day, someone forgot about the leak.... Okay cool that happens and Kwik Kar fixed it eventually. It's the insistence that it wasn't their fault, must have been the other shop's fault that really is a concern. A month in a new house with a new oilpan and no massive leak until my oil is changed at Kwik Kar? Let's be honest, now, this all sounds super sketchy. read more

Scammers, but friendly. This place recently went downhill. I used to like them. I went in and they tried to sell me 4 additional services that I did not come in for. I did agree to one of them and now I'm wondering if it was really needed (I agreed to it before I knew they were going to try to sell everything to me). The others were unnecessary. They even tried to convince me they were going to be giving me discounts to do the whole list of extra services. My car was just recently checked by an auto shop and none of Kwik Kar's suggested services were mentioned as things needed (something completely different is a suggested repair for future). read more

I went there for a state inspection and was told I needed front and back brakes. I was told each set is $269 and I should start with the front brakes. I agreed to doing the front. When It was time to pay I was charged $580 for both front and back brakes. I NEVER agreed to doing both sets at that time. I wasn't prepared to do both financially. I was LIED to and CHEATED!!! Came in for an oil change to support local. All was great until I got home and noticed my front engine splash shield hanging down to the ground. Not only did they lose the clips to hold it in place they tried to rig it up which was unsuccessful. I went back to discuss with them and all the said was "sorry that happened." Now I have to spend over $60 just to buy a new piece since they won't fix their error. Don't go here!! read more

I had some engine noises and I could have been taken advantage of but instead Jose gave me a diagnosis and suggested a product I could add to the oil to fix it myself. It worked. DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION! These people don't know what they are doing. Partly my own fault for not paying attention to the receipt given at the time. Went and got another oil change because I have 0 confidence in what they put in my truck. I paid for and the receipt I was given was for a different car/person I have a truck and use conventional oil the receipt I was given was for a car and synthetic...thought the bill was a little higher than usual (only 20.00) but when in a hurry and other things on my mind you know how that goes, anyway it stayed in the back of my mind till I had a minute to check it out and found the mistake. As I said if they can't keep the account straight I don't have confidence in what they put in my truck, especially since my truck takes 7qts and the receipt says 6qts. Did they just give me the wrong receipt only or did they screw up and not put in the correct oil and amount. Btw, the oil type on the receipt is exactly what they put on the sticker. GTX 5w20 synthetic which makes me think the receipt of what they did is correct just wrong account. Additionally, my last visit they had made a small error and fixed it at the time by admitting they added too much oil during the change and it took longer due to having to remove some. I was nervous coming back after hearing that but decided to give them another shot, but now am seeing a pattern read more

I've had my care serviced here multiple times, today they did my brakes, inspection and oil change all within an hour. No complaints here, glad they were able to make it quick, easy and painless. Upon their recommendation I allowed KWIK KAR, Hickory Creek, to replace my brake pads. Afterward, when I applied pressure to the brake pedal the steering wheel vibration continued to get progressively worse. A few months went by. I was working out of town had another mechanic check the steering fluid. A full diagnostic test revealed faulty/warped brake pads. With all the documentation and several pictures in hand (to back up the claim) I took the problem back to KWIK KAR Hickory Creek. I did not trust them to touch my brakes again. Therefore, I asked for a full refund. The manager on duty claimed he was not authorized to issue a refund. He said that only the owner, Blake Hodges, could issue the refund. The owner, Blake Hodges, was on vacation and could not help me. I was instructed to call the following Monday after 10. I called at 10:30 and was told that I just missed him and he would not be in again until the next Monday. Apparently the owner only works 30 minutes per week. There's a whole lot more to the story, weeks of getting the run around. But, to make a long story, short - I had my brakes repaired properly at a different shop. I did not get a refund from KWIK KAR Hickory Creek. Went here to get an oil change (I usually go to Firestone, but they had a wait so I came here to get in and out quicker) This place was awful. First of all, they put up a sign that said $45 oil change. That is what I asked for. When they were done with my car, they charged me $72!!!! I asked why it was not the $45 I asked for and the manager/owner gave me a bunch of nonsense about an oil filter and having an SUV and needing more oil. I have NEVER paid more than $45 for an oil change anywhere I have gone unless I got the synthetic oil (which I did not this time). I would avoid this place if at all possible. Very disappointed at the service at this location. If I wanted to be sold to I would go to a car dealership. Air filters last more than 5,000 miles gentlemen and I don't appreciate being lied to. I get my oil changed this spring and came again today to get my oil changed. They tell me the last person stripped the oil plug and will need a new oil pan. I tell them they did the oil change. They said they just bought the shop 1 week ago and are not responsible for damages and faulty work. I ask if this is still Kwik Kar Lube and they say yes. I asked why they don't stand behind the name and business. They said it is not their problem and I need to go elsewhere to get it fixed. Won't be back. read more

This place is crooked. Went in for an oil change, was up sold on getting some new filters instilled in my car, but they decided to flush my break fluid for 99$ which I did not agree to and when I made it a point I was not told up front what there cost was on this, and would've denied the service, they yanked my radiator hose off and busted the seal for it. The total cost for everything for an oil change, 2 filters and the ridiculous brake fluid flush was over 220$ which is absolutely insane. I made it up the highway and my car was over heating to the max, smoking, and spraying coolant everywhere. My car has never had these issues prior to my visit here and it was not at all an issue in general the morning I drove up there. I have a very trusted mechanic who fixed up everything after all was said and done but if I could give negative stars I absolutely would with no remorse. Unprofessional service and demeanor all around. 10/10 would recommend you go literally anywhere else for you maintenance needs. read more

Juan & the guys were great! I got my Ladies Day oil change & he looked over my car and walked me through all the things he checked.

Do not go to this station for a State Inspection. The inspector Mohammad Noutafji has no clue what he is doing. He will fail your car for a belt being cracked when a cracked belt isn't enough to cause it to fail, the belt has to have pieces of the rib material missing, and not to mention that his Rejection Reciept states " Explain Rejection Fully: serpentine belt a lot slashes and cracks, REJECTED FOR DEFECTIVE: Steering system- fluid levels and belt condition" This car has electric steering, there is no mechanical pump that drives the steering system, the belt only provides function to the AC and the Alternator, nothing else. He failed a car for an item that never should have failed, he listed the reason as "steering system", and he charged the customer for the inspection even though it did not fail the inspection. Beware people, this inspection station has an inspector who does not know what he is doing. If he failed this car on June 01, 2020 he has probably failed many more for no reason at all, maybe he wanted to sell a belt? Who knows, but he is being reported to the state and hopefully the state will retrain him or pull his inspection license. read more

First red flag... guy in front of me got his oil changed. They emptied the old, brought the car out, and told him it was ready to go. Completely forgot to put the new oil in. He drove off and promptly returned. Came to be my turn; got oil changed and free brake check. Easy enough. Drove out of the lot and immediately had a check light come on. Weird since everything had been fine when I pulled in. Took it back and asked them to double check real quick that nothing had been bumped or loosened while they had the hood open. Manager came out and told me it'd be $110 to check. Terrible customer service and got a haughty attitude asking if I was accusing them of foul play. No! I just want you to check it real quick since you just worked on it and now a light is on! Drove over to Firestone and they fixed it right up for free. read more

I've been coming to this location for a few years and have not really had any issues until recently. It seems the staff has turned over and their approach is that of a used car lot. Need a simple oil change, get told you need two other things done. I was one of those victims and was told I needed new pads, front and back, and rotors in the front. A naturally trusting person, I accepted the costs and time to do so. Now, my brakes are making a grinding sound. After confronting the business about it, they simply said that I should also buy rear rotors. Seriously?! I've had the brakes checked by an expert and it turns out I'll be paying more to have their work fixed. Never again. read more

The employees are honest and hard working, they fixed a hose on my car that they could of charged me to completely replace but they fixed just in the name of helping me out. Saved me $500 bucks! Got my inspection done here and of course was notified about possible work needed just as any other car place I've ever been to. Seems that people who hear about maintenance needed tend to think "oh they are bad because they want to up sell you" when really they clearly don't know anything about the maintenance needed over the course of 30-60k miles xD. No problems here at all. If people don't want to upkeep their car see what happens down the line. This location was much less pushy than the Denton location. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. They replaced the front brakes on my car, but didn't replace the brake pad wear sensor. I took it back twice saying I needed them to replace it, but they just said, "all we can do is reset the light." Finally had to take it somewhere else, & cost another $200 to get it replaced. Kwik Kar is awesome, they take great care of our vehicles and don't sugar coat what is going on. It's hard to find a good mechanic I can trust due to the fact that I'm a woman and stereotypically ignorant about cars. We've had maybe 10 different cars between the family we've taken there for anything from oil changes to tranny drops. One time we hit a bump and our muffler popped a screw. The other day, I notice the oil light on my dash, so I stopped at the kwik kar down the street from my house. It was fairly slow, so I thought they would be nice an check my fluids and top me off. I was prepared to pay if need be. A young man came out and greeted me, I asked him for a fluid check and top off. Now just a little info, I have 4 years experience as a kwik kar lube tech. He told me he had to ask.. then the manager looked at me gave me a nasty look and told the young man "we dont do fluid check/top offs. Well that's too bad because I was planning on returning the following week end a d get full service oil change, air filter, brakes and a 100k tune up. I guess I'll take my money elseware. read more

Getting my inspection, and oil change was told my wipers did not pass!!! WTF? It was raining yesterday and they worked just fine... I know I'm getting screwed but to save a few bucks to go and buy blades just ain't worth it... so then he comes back and tells me my rear differential has metal flakes in it!!! I told him to not touch it... when I went to pay I asked him if he filled the blinker fluid.... I run a ranch near this location and have to handle the service on 8 OTHER vehicles these folks just lost every bit of that business. NEVER going back. read more
