My car had a flat and Infinitech was right around the corner. They were closing soon at that point but they still had their people come out and look at what the problem was. They determined that there was a crack in the rim and José brought me to the back to show me exactly what the problem was and the options I had (to weld back or purchase a new one). Since I've never encountered this problem before, he walked me through the pros and cons of both and recommended a welding service he knew as well. He was the friendliest manager I had ever met and offered such great service! He did not suggest things that make him money, rather he suggested the best course of action for me even if it was going to another place. read more

Despite having a set of fantastic marks here on Yelp i have to report otherwise. I had my car inspected by Infinitech through a 3rd party. The report came back with marking and recommendations of needing my front brakes replaced. The report stated that I had less than 20% life on my brake pads. A brake job i can do for less than the quote of $450. The tech obviously didn't check my brake pads because I did and they were well over 50% if not 75% new! What a scam. I would never bring my car here. Crooks should be ashamed of themselves. read more

Had a wonderful experience with Infinitech! I woke up with a flat early this week and decided to just buy a tire and put it on myself. Unfortunately, some of my lug nuts were stripped and I wasn't able to take off the flat with the tools I had. I reached out to Inifnitech with a quote and they got back to me promptly and worked me into their schedule the next day. Jose was able to put on a new tire and replace the stripped lug nuts for me - free of charge! He was very clear on pricing (I was quoted about $40 higher for this service elsewhere) and arranged for my car to be kept inside and me to pick it up the next day. I own a 2005 Infiniti G35x and was in need of new tires. I received estimates from several shops and found Infinitech's estimate was much more affordable than the other three. The work was done promptly and I was incredibly satisfied. Just recently I dropped my car off again. This time for break pads, rotors, and a serpentine belt. (Btw-they have a brand new really nice location. The waiting area is clean, comfortable, modern with nice wall hangings and a plasma television.) The price to have all this work done was atleast 40% lower than other service shops. The work was completed promptly and I am a happy camper. The service rep I am accustomed to dealing with is Ahmad. I find him to be very upfront and honest about what work needs to be done right away and what can wait. He's also very easy to work with, extremely accommodating and keeps his word. I bought a high mileage used car from the sales side of the house next door. There was an oil leak that they claimed was from an oil gasket. I said I would not buy the car unless they fixed it. Reluctantly, they agreed. I then took the car to another well reviewed BMW mechanic from Lincoln Park who does work on Imports. He found the leak in question but also 3 others! I called the sales office and told them about the additional leaks. They said they would be fixed "at cost"... A few days later I brought the car in to be serviced at Infinitech. I explained the agreement I made with the sales manager. They followed up and agreed the gasket leak would be taken care of free of charge, as part of the car purchase. The others would be at cost per the agreement. Now is where they earned their 1 star rating (wish I could give them zero): They claimed there was only one other leak. It would normally cost me $1,300 but they would charge me their cost of $900. The aforementioned other shop quoted me $700 for the same thing, two hundreds dollars less. Does Infinitech use some kind of gold plated diamond encrusted parts? Why else would their "cost" be higher than the marked up price at another shop? As for the other two leaks? Nope, not there, other mechanic is nuts. I was skeptical but guess what? He showed them to me. Another black eye for Infinitech. What about the original oil gasket leak? Oh they fixed it alright: BY USING SOME SORT OF SUPER GLUE! No replacement parts, they just plugged it up to appear to be fixed. Wow. That takes a special kind of asshole. Bottom line: This is the type of shop that you always try to avoid. They'll take advantage of your inability to DIY. They have zero integrity and will rip you off at the first chance they get. I'm sure they will respond with some kind of BS about how there will be problems with a high mileage car blah blah. No shit, that's why I didn't even mention the entire cooling system needing service too! Don't make the same mistake I did by trusting someone at their word. Avoid Infinitech at all costs. read more

I came to Infinitech with a coupon for a Free Oil Change and Car Wash that I picked up from my gym. This was, hands down, the best auto service I have ever received! Sure, it was just a simple oil change, but the overall experience was quite pleasant, where usually it is anything but. I will definitely be going back! PROS: - Manager Ahmad is friendly, polite, and just really nice! He didn't make me feel like "a dumb woman", like most men in auto service establishments do. He was happy to answer any questions I had. - Very clean and comfortable waiting room ...with women's magazines! A nice touch. Also cutely decorated for Christmas. It is clear that they care about their business and their customers. - My car was so clean! They covered the drivers' seat and steering wheel with plastic, in addition to the paper floor mat protector that most places put down for service. They also vacuumed. The car wash was great too - very thorough - and I have a VERY discerning eye when it comes to cleanliness. - They didn't try to sell me on a bunch of crap I didn't need, even though I was getting a free oil change! Super impressed on that one. They did include a list of recommended services to do "next time" on my receipt. CONS: - No walk-ins, have to schedule an appointment - perhaps my experience was a fluke, it was Christmas Eve after all. - My oil change and car wash took about 1 hour. I had brought the car originally to the Firestone on North Avenue, and they weren't able to identify/fix the problem. I brought my car in because the battery kept dying. Paid $250 for a diagnosis. They said the problem was solved. I picked up my car and a week later my battery was dead again. I called asking for them to give me a discount for a second diagnosis. The owner, Bruce then yelled at me on the phone, blamed the problem on me and said he wouldn't do it. This isn't the first time I had an uncomfortable interaction with this guy. Needless to say I will not be going back but I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau. Good luck! read more

I'm very pleased with my first time experience at Inifinitech, I needed to get a leaky hose replaced and not only did they do the job same day, but they called and told me it was below the price they originally quoted me because they were able to do the work faster. Unfortunately auto service gets a bad rap for nickel and diming, but my experience felt very honest. When I picked up my car, they showed me the exact piece they removed and where the leak was. I also asked them to check other areas (timing belt, etc) and they could have told me to replace/fix them immediately but instead let me know that I didn't need to worry until later. I looked hard for a place to replace my brake pads that would be reliable, but cheaper than the dealer. I found Infinitech and ended up saving over 30% off compared to dealer prices. They have a clean no frills waiting area that was pleasant enough for the 2 hour wait. Very convenient location if you are in the downtown area and very friendly service. Unfortunately, what I thought were previously good experiences turned bad. I had been having my car serviced here for 6 or 7 years. They appeared to always do a good job, despite being a bit disorganized. About 2 years ago I had major preventative maintenance work done on my Audi (Timing Belt, Water Pump, etc.) for about $2,200 in total cost. Again, this was preventative work as my car had hit 10 years of age and it was suggested by the manufacturer. Flash forward to about 2 weeks ago when car overheats. I have it towed to Infinitech and they diagnose the problem as the timing belt, water pump, etc. and tell me that the warranty is on their previous work/parts is only 1 year and that it all needs to be replaced again for another $2,200. Needless to say, I freak out on how could genuine/quality parts only last 2 years and only 12,000 miles, when the original equipment parts lasted 10 years and 90,000 miles. Well, that's when the excuses started flying.... "I don't know what kinda parts we used", "stuff happens" and "just deal with it". All the while, they tell you that they only use original equipment parts from the manufacturer on all their work. To boot, they wanted to charge my a diagnose fee.......which I refused to pay. Anyhow, I had no interest in paying them for the same job twice. A nearby mechanic did the work and told me the parts appeared to be sub-par and he had no idea where they came from. Just a word or warning......maybe it's a one-time fluke, but the way this was handled has lost my business for good. read more

I had my car brought here through a third party. Coincidentally, I had just brought it to Jiffy Lube two days earlier for an oil change and they did their 80-point inspection or whatever it is. They specifically noted that the serpentine belt was fine, which Infinitech wanted $190.94 for. Infinitech also said the oil pan was leaking and needed to be resealed for $375. I never saw any oil leaking (parked in one spot for months) and Jiffy Lube didn't see anything. I wouldn't have written a review if it were just those things as I kind of expect a repair place to take me for a ride, but my car also came back with a trailer hitch missing (it was inside the car) and a cracked windshield from what looks like a bb impact (perfectly round hole starts the crack). I also might not have bothered to write a review if they didn't seem so indifferent when I called to report these things. In short, I'd look for a shop that isn't so indifferent to customers. read more

I used to come here when it was the Infinity dealer. I am happy to see that the same high level of service is still in effect and now with lower prices. I came here for an oil change and general inspection. I was able to drop my car off in the morning and pick it up in the evening after work. I asked to have a battery replaced in my key fob which they gladly did for 1/10 the cost of the dealer. If you work in the city and need a place to have your car worked on while you are at work, this place cannot be beat. Fair prices and no BS. read more

I came across this place as I was looking for an auto service to install new suspension springs. The price was reasonable - 30% lower than that in official dealer's service, and maybe slightly higher than in some mom and pop shops, but I don't quite trust those. Nothing wrong with them, just my personal preference. My car is fairly new, and I'd rather pay a little bit more to people, whom others trust with cars 10 times more expensive than mine. They did a good job with the car, but I do realize there is very little variation in the quality of such work. What I really appreciated is the people who work there. Firstly, scheduling was great: I had the appointment scheduled on the day that was convenient for me. Secondly, they gave me two calls during the process to update me on how it was going. Finally, I could tell that really cared about delivering good service. It was raining on the day when I dropped the car off, and they even gave me a ride to the train station! I mentioned to them that I was thinking of buying new wheels, and they spent 15 minutes advising me on the websites I could buy them from, different brands and types, and tires that could work with the rims. Did they have to do all those things? Of course no. But they were happy to help me, and I really appreciated that. Overall, I'm very happy with this place and will come here again with any work not covered by my car warranty. read more

Very reliable, honest and clean service center. I have been going to them for two years now. I bought my BMW 335i from Greater Chicago Motors (The High line auto sales side of the company) as well as an extended warranty, so as soon as my manufacturers warranty ran out i started bringing my car to them for any work. I just recently needed service and for the heck of it i called the local BMW dealer to see what they charged for an oil change and needless to say it was a lot more $$$ then what Infinitech would charge. Worse place I've been, had an accident in my 2004 Jeep Wrangler, Insurance send me there for being the closest shop around. Just regret not paying attention to the insurance guy, i think it was my mistake for allowing that. Ok the thing it took 2 months for them to fix my car, that's what they said right. The driver side tire was 1.5" inward the passenger side was 1.5" outward. My springs and shock were decline to the passenger side do to it. I took the car for second time. They had it for two days, and told me. We couldn't find the issue. Your frame must be vended. I did not crushed the car. It was and axle and u joint problem. I came home to my mechanic to find out the differential had a track bar hole relocation. I just move one obvious hole and fix the problem. read more

After getting car back after 3 months the engine light went on and the air didn't work. Found out that Infinitech, in fact, replaced all the things that weren't working. When brought it back with Allstate Sam said that he did nothing wrong and that he wouldn't fix the problem. Allstate let me take it to another mechanic who found a hole in the air condenser that should have been easily found if they did the proper testing before returning. There was also wires loose and not screwed in all the way. INFINITECH IS THE WORST PLACE TO GO TO GET YOUR CAR FIXED!!!! They don't care about helping the customer and the desk personnel are idiots and unprofessional!!! read more

If personality were the contest, they win handily, especially the owner Mr. Ahmet (sp). My suggestion would be to replace the CSR rep, as he doesn't have a clue. Mr. Ahmet came to our rescue when the CSR was ready to have us come back [a second time] because some of the work done was not tested and checked. We discovered this on the way home and drove back. I would go back--they work on very high-end cars, appear knowledgeable and are certainly creditable. But be forewarned, if there are any issues to be resolved, head straight for the owner, Mr. A, he is a no-nonsense person and will set things straight. read more

This review is for the Infinitech at Greater Chicago Motors. I bought a used car from them and had to take it back after a few weeks for a rattling noise at cold starts that faded away as the car warmed up. They said they couldn't repeat the noise but they thoroughly looked at it and nothing was wrong, according to them. They gave an oil change. The noise came again, so I brought it back. Same thing as before. After going there twice, leaving the car with no loaner car being offered and wasting a lot of time, the manufacturing warranty expired and I had to bring it somewhere else where they quickly identified the problem. But I had to pay for it. Why? They didn't keep any record and so no paperwork had been kept on file and I couldn't prove anybody what I went through. DONT DEAL WITH THESE CROOKS I found them on the internet, seemed to have a good rating so I dropped off my car to get it checked out as it was dying literally while I was driving it, and I had to make a long drive to make it home for Thanksgiving. They called me back with the diagnosis, saying that it was my catalytic converter. There wasn't any exhaust buildup in the car or anything of that nature so I was skeptical at this diagnosis, and the man who called me was very pushy/rude about fixing the car. The car was already there and I needed it to make a long drive, so I agreed. I pick up the car after they said it was fixed, drive around for about 15 minutes and the car died the same exact way. So I return to them, they "run more diagnostics" and say its now my fuel pump. Once again, I need it fixed, so I agree for them to fix it. I pick up the car again, drive it for bit and it dies the SAME exact way. I finally took it to another place and they diagnosed it as a wiring issue with my starter not being grounded, and in turn, the cylinders weren't firing when it changed gears, and fixed it that day. Nothing to do with the catalytic converter or the fuel pump. I'm assumed it was because I had Missouri license plates they thought I was an out of towner and wouldn't really be back after they "fixed" my car. Either way, I was out $1600 with these guys and they didn't do anything to my car that I would consider "fixing" I wasn't going to write this review (this happened about 2 years ago) until I just had to take my car in recently due to check engine light coming on and guess what already needs to be replaced: catalytic converter / fuel pump After reading deeper into some of these reviews, seems they really have taken advantage of some other people on here as well with sub par parts and lies to get more money out of you.
