I've always heard about KyoChon's popularity in Korea, and let me just say--it didn't disappoint. We arrived around 5 PM on a Wednesday, and the place was practically empty. Ordering was super straightforward--the cashier at the front was incredibly friendly and answered all our questions with a smile. Bonus points for a spotless interior, including the bathrooms, which is always a good sign. We went with the 16-piece combo and chose two flavors: Honey and Soy Garlic. The chicken was perfection. Total time of ordering to receiving the food was about 15 minutes. The batter is slightly different from what you'd expect--it seemed extra crispy and lighter than some of its competitors, letting the sauce really shine. The Honey flavor was the clear winner for me; it's sweet but not overpowering, with just the right amount of stickiness. Honestly, this is a strong contender among Rowland Heights' Korean fried chicken elite, holding its own against heavy hitters like bb.q Chicken & Pelicana. Dare I say, it might even edge them out. I love coming back to this plaza, there are many big name restaurants within this plaza so parking will be a little tricker depending on the time of day. I love that this plaza has a fried chicken shop so there are a variety of options. Honey Fried Chicken, 10 piece boned in wing: The chicken itself was fried well. Not greasy. Chicken was lightly glazed with honey. Interior of chicken was juicy and hot. Coating was light but not too heavy battered. I would recommend choosing honey if you wanted a lighter flavor. Mix Green Large Salad: Salad was a nice dish to get, should've gotten a small dish for two people since it was a lot of food. If you get RANCH as your side sauce, it taste amazing to me because it's the lightest ranch I've ever tasted. Each person was given about 9-12 bite sized radish pieces. Cassava Chips: Tasted more of your standard freshly cut potato chips from the fryer. Side of Fries: Loved that these fries are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Potato cuts were long and thin. Tip: If you dine in, the side of pickled radish and casava chips comes as a free service. My favorite corn dog place nearby closed down so I was sad and wanted to try something new. KyoChon big in Korea so wanted to try them out here. Red was definitely a gonchujang mixed sweet and spicy flavor. These were all boneless, crunchy, and tender pieces of dark meat! Nirvana at the front was super sweet and threw in a couple Honey wings for me to try! Definitely will come back to try more flavors and some sides. read more

Cashier is nice and ordering was easy. We love KyoChon chicken (it is my boyfriend's go-to in Korea), so we realllly wanted to like this location near home. However the flavor seems localized and quite different than what we expected. We got the Soy Garlic wings and the Ssal Ssal chicken strips. The chicken was overdone, dry, and was more hard than crispy. It cut my mouth in 3 places lol. It also tasted like the oil was reused one too many times. The breading was very thick and so the taste got heavier with each bite. On top of that, it was kind of bland. Also, a big gripe for me is that the sauce portion is tiny. We got the Kyochon red and the honey mustard sauce add ons for our medium Ssal ssal chicken order. They both tasted fantastic. However, the containers (your typical small deli sauce containers) came 1/3 full. We ran out of sauce before we got halfway through the order, even though we dipped very very little per piece. And though I typically prefer fried chicken without sauce, I needed it for this meal because the chicken was pretty dry without the sauce. In the end I couldn't finish the chicken. When I came in, the restaurant was empty, and it's only me ordering some food, even the cooks weren't cooking or anything. After I ordered, some calls were coming in as well as online order from uber or anything. Strangely after waiting for more than 30 mins, my food weren't ready yet, but they have done packing all those food that came after me. Pretty much all the orders besides mine were ready (they are placed in pick up tray). For some reason they deprioritize my order that came first. I got medium wings and I did ask how many pieces in medium size, and they answered 10 pieces. Once I got my order, I opened my box right away because I just had a feeling they were gonna mess up something, and yes I was right, it was only 9 wings. I told them that it only contains 9 wings instead of 10 of what they informed me, and the answer they gave me was "oh sometimes we do it by the weight". Okay well you could have told me that information instead of promising a customer the exact number of wings they are getting for Medium / Large / XL. Horrible experience, horrible service. The fried chicken served here is top-grade. The skin is fried to a perfect crisp, and I did not note any dryness in the meat. I opted for the "Honey" flavor, and I regret nothing - it tasted extremely delicious, and it included a complimentary serving of pickled radish (which was also tasty, and pairs well with the chicken). I did also give their Ddukbokki a try ... as the menu warns, it is on the spicy side. That said, if you are craving a spicy dish ... it'll get the job done. It contains fish cake and half an egg, and is served with a small salad on the side (which was actually pretty good). This is not a full service-format restaurant (pay at the counter at the time of order, and the food will be delivered to your table). We just tried this Korean chicken place by Uber Eats tonight. We ordered one Large honey drumsticks and one Large crispy drumsticks and pickled radish. The honey drumsticks are so flavorful and the chicken meat are tender. The crispy drumsticks are not bad, they are crispy and chicken meat are juicy but I wish they have dipping sauces and more flavorful inside. The pickled radish are very addictive and delicious. (I'm not a radish fan but I still like it very much) We don't know the Large size is that big, it's more than enough for 4 of us. I'd like to start off by saying the food was good. I had the soy garlic boneless. Right off the bat the price is quite high, much higher than what I remember it being. I was suggested the lunch combo which displays that there's a boneless option. I was informed that I cannot order the boneless in the lunch combo even though it's advertised. So the only option, according to the worker, was to order the 24 piece boneless in the Salsal series - not what I wanted but ok. Everyone else ordered the lunch combo with wings and we got some mozzarella sticks for the table. You no longer get the radishes for free, it's a $1.50 charge, and the size of it is literally a cup that you'd put ketchup in. Photo below for reference. The food took about 25 mins to get to us. The food was tasty, that was the good part. The mozzarella sticks were meh and I was informed that they no longer have any marinara for the dip for them - so that's a bummer. They also wanted to charge me for the garlic dip for the wings, we used to get those all the time. Not gonna pay for it - I already dropped $80 for 3 people and I can't even get sauce. How in the WORLD, does EVERYTHING we ordered here taste great EXCEPT the chicken?!? Yeah I'm confused and so are my parents too. I ordered take out and wanted to try most of their menu. We got the: 1) Soy Garlic & Red Whole Chicken Half and Half: -The red chicken actually had a pretty spicy kick to it. Very saucy and a bit soggy though. -You can barely taste any garlic flavor to the soy garlic. It was almost indistinguishable from the regular crispy wings except that there was a hint of soy sauce flavor to it. 2) Regular Crispy Wings: -Unfortunately not crispy at all. -Very normal and average. -It tasted very "chicken-y" if that makes any sense. Like a concentrated taste of poultry that's gamey. -Very unpleasant to eat after awhile. 3) Crispy Rice Chicken Strips: -Cool concept but ended up being hard. -The chicken inside the strips were dense, but with the hardness of the "crispy rice" on the outside, it made it a pain to eat. Definitely had to drench them in dipping sauce. 4) Potato Wedges: -No different than what you can get at a hot foods section at a grocery market. Not bad. 5) Broccoli Salad: -Actually super good with the dressing. -Reminiscent of Souplantation's Joan's Broccoli Madness salad but with more subtle sour and sweet tones to it. -Very good and honestly would have been happier with just getting this than any of the chicken. I got some of their chipotle sauce and it was alright. Just like a smoky bbq sauce. Really neat that the daikon radish cubes were already pre-sealed in a package. Looks like something you can get from a grocery store! This was really nice, flavorful, and crunchy (tho obviously a bit smelly haha). So the real MVP here were the diced radish and broccoli salad. So I've passed by this place millions of times and finally today decided to go give it a try. KOREA'S #1 CHICKEN ?? Why not right? So I walk in and I was greeted nicely. And I checked out their menu. I asked for some help on what they recommended and what we're the most ordered items and the girl at the front suggested the Soy Garlic & Honey Wing Flavors. So I ordered about 20-25 pieces all together. As I waited I also looked more into their menu and saw that they had a lunch combo that came with salad a choice of fried rice and 3 wings. I went with my family to celebrate Father's Day cause my Dad loves fried chicken and to be honest, it did not disappoint! I was so happy to see kyochon open back up in the same plaza. I remembered it was about 10 years ago and it was one of the best Korean fried chicken that I had ever tasted and then it closed down :( It probably is still one of the best Korean fried chicken that I have every tried even after 10 years! Everything was super good. We were hungry when we got here and they served us quickly! We got some wedge fries and garlic fried rice as the appetizers. They even threw in some complimentary crispy rice chicken strips which was really nice of them! Everything tasted great. I really liked the garlic fried rice because the rice was perfectly cooked and I loved the addition of crispy garlic on top. It was delicious. The crispy rice chicken strips was tender on the inside and crispy on the outside and had a nice mustard dipping sauce on the side. For the wings review, we got a pretty big order consisting of soy garlic, hot, and crispy. They even gave us a BBQ spicy chicken that's not on the menu to try! It was really spicy but for anyone who likes a kick to their wings, this is for you. The hot chicken was the perfect spice to me. The flavor was great, it was spicy, sweet, and savory. I was addicted and only really stuck to this flavor over the others. The soy garlic also was delicious too, but I felt like it needed more sauce. It still was a really good wing overall. The crispy wings needed a bit more flavor. They gave us a choice of 2 dipping sauces on the side which made up for it, but I felt that the chicken itself needed to have a bit more spice or salt. All of the wings were really crispy on the outside and the meat was tender and not tough whatsoever. The staff was really friendly and knowledgeable about the menu as well. I was so excited to see a kyochon again in the Rowland Heights area. This time in an actual restaurant where you can sit and enjoy your freshly made korean fried chicken... Anyways the place is obviously open for dine in, well lit, clean, and has high chairs for the little ones. Now on to the food, we ordered 4 different kinds of wings: spicy soy ginger, soy garlic, red hot, and honey. While the first three flavors were somewhat nostalgic, crispy, and delicious, the last one has such a different texture from the rest. It was not as crispy and the chicken size was almost doubled because of the breading. I'm not sure if you can tell from the pictures. So not sure what happened there. The honey flavor was just weird. There's no other way I can explain it, it looked and tasted different than the rest, so be warned. The red hot has a good kick so if you like spicy wings, that one is for you. My personal favorite would be between the soy garlic and the spicy soy ginger? (Could be wrong, but its the new flavor they advertised). They're both delicious with rice! Yum! Oh and whenever you go to a korean fried chicken place, it is definitely expected to wait a while because they make the chicken to order and it is completely understandable and expected, even. However, we waited for about at least 50 minutes, and again, we dined in, and not a single one of the waiter/waitresses gave us any water or asked if we would like to order drink. It wasn't until the food came and we had to ask for drink that they finally noticed. So service can definitely be improved, especially for those dining in. I love KyoChon and just so happy that it's finally local. I always get the whole chicken. Half soy garlic and half red (original spicy). They have a new flavor that I can't wait to try. However, when we got home with our grub, it's just not the same. I've frequented the Koreatown for many years and it just tastes so different. Almost like a light version of kyochon. I was feeling adventurous lately and venturing out from my absolute top tier Korean fried chicken which is at Bunker21 in Artesia. I want to give other places a chance although I can kind of tell already I won't like it as much. KyoChon was no exception. Decided to try their half and half soy garlic/red wings. The wings were small which means the meat to bone ratio was low. Not pleasant to eat. The meat was also on the drier side. Not unpalatable but definitely not juicy moist. The shell also wasn't pleasant either. Not really crunchy at all but kind of like a mass that was almost indistinguishable from the chicken itself. The flavoring is the only saving grace in my opinion. The red sauce is a gochujang flavor which was nice and the soy garlic was standard. However, on every scale (size, texture, flavor) it does not surpass Bunker21's chicken so therefore it will be designated as 3 stars. I would eat this if it was free but definitely not an option I would choose for myself. They give the pickled radish which is standard (but Bunker21 even gives you a delicious salad for free). read more

My favorite korean fried chicken place To me, it's the best tasting chicken place flavor-wise. Although they do have limited flavors (honey chicken and soy garlic are our favorite). Like other Korean chicken places, it is a bit expensive but the quantity is better than other places I've tried. Our order included a free pickled radish (kyochon packaging) and one sauce. I tried their kyochon red sauce which is definitely spicy. The kimchi fried rice is dank and includes a side of salad too! The inside is a bit small and it's located in the busy Yes Plaza so finding parking is rough. But there's never been a line inside since most people take it to-go. The inside is pretty small but they do have a few tables. Never dined inside but service is pretty okay! I placed an order so I can pick it up. It took about 20 or 25 mins for the order to be ready. When I got there the place looks nice and clean since it was newly opened. The regular order had about 10 wings and it also came with some radish. The honey flavor was perfect.. wasn't too sweet and the wings were big and meaty not dried. The wings were crispy too! I usually don't eat the radish but this tasted pretty good too. If the honey wings taste this good, I'm sure the other flavors can't be bad. Regular size comes with around 12 pieces so we got 2 portions for a party of 4. Spicy soy ginger wings: 6/10. Personally not a ginger person, but the flavor was really strong and came out well. It wasn't as crispy compared to the honey wings. Honey wings: 8/10! Solid wings; we liked the crispiness of it and the flavor was good. Radish: super cold and crispy!!! We loved them the order comes with one but any additional orders are additional fee ): We also got a small size of fries which were pretty good! (Very good crisp) and some crispy rice chicken skins. The chicken skins were okay, interesting but not anything special in my opinion. Very crispy exterior but the inside was just like a chicken fry? Interior is pretty nice and open spaced. Kyochon specializes in Korean fried chicken, and boy, do they do it well. The go-to wing here for us has to be their honey wings. Heavily battered and evenly coated with sweet and sticky honey sauce. I think their secret ingredient must be crack as they are way too addicting!! We've tried the K-town location on many occasions and wanted to see how the Rowland Heights store compared. We were super hungry so we ordered the XL portion of the honey wings to share among 2 people. They gave us 4 chopsticks to go along with the order so that's how you know we ordered too many. The wings here held up almost as well as it's K-town counterpart. My only complaints would be some of the wings were not as crunchy, more flats than drums, and a few of the wings were WAY smaller than normal. Newcomers might be alarmed by the high prices but I think it's worth it to splurge here on occasion. We'd give this visit a 4.5 if we could but Yelp won't let us so alas here we are at a solid 4. read more

Came here twice and this is my second time visiting. The first time had a wonderful experience. This time the worker Laylyta her name tag was rude. Asked about the menu and she didn't really explain it well. The first time we came a friend ordered for us so they already had the food arrive before we got here. When the food arrived at our table we asked if we could get ketchup and ranch, she said it's 50 cents. Saw that someone else got up to the front and asked for "more" of the radish/ranch and she gave it to them. What the f? She literally walked over to refill the water when we asked for cups of water when we wanted cups instead of a refill. Besides the fact that the service was terribly bad.
