When my teenage daughter picked up the order, the staff told her they were short 2 wings and would replace them with fries. When I heard that, I was a little disappointed. My waffle loving self can't pass up any waffle menu items, so getting Combo #6 with waffle and 2 drumsticks ($16.88) was a must! I would have gave it a 3.5/5 on yelp if that was possible. This time around, I went with a group of 4 and we decided to order the Korean fried chicken side and tried the Family #1, which for $60.88 comes with Whole chicken (H/H), 5 pieces drumsticks (choose 1 flavor), spicy rice cake, French fries, 1 drink or 1 beer. We dined in and waited around 20-30 minutes total to get all our food, which also came with various sauces and radishes. The wait was worth as the food tasted made to order. All the chicken parts were hot, juicy, and delicious. The drumsticks in particular were massive and packed with umami. We got the hot soy, original crispy, and lemon pepper for our flavors. All 3 were great but lemon pepper stood out the most in my opinion. Additionally, the fries were well seasoned, fluffy, and has a nice crisp. The rice cakes were too soft for my preferences but still solid and had me sweating a little. The 1 drink we got was a single cup to share. It was a little silly to share among 4 people but doable. We came in hungry, and yet we left the restaurant with leftovers. The portion sizes were impressive, and in combination with the quality the price was more than justified. I know this place has "Hot" in the name, but I didn't get anything that was spicy. Turns out that's ok because they make some great chicken. I ordered the following items: 1. Two Legend Sandos - This was a great chicken tender sandwich. It had two huge chicken tenders and some cole slaw. The chicken tender was so juicy and crispy. This was the star of the show. 2. Legend Wings - The legend wings and drumsticks were very well cooked. These are big pieces of chicken and normally I'm afraid that the inside isn't cooked enough where the meat sticks to the bone and the fat isn't rendered. They cook it just to the right point where it's thoroughly cooked and still juicy. The chicken didn't have much batter on the outside so it didn't have a lot of crunch, but the skin has that slightly crispy chewy texture that has a nice bite. I chose the garlic soy sauce, which isn't like the garlic soy you get at most places. It feels like more of a teriyaki sauce with a light garlic flavor. The only downside to this type of sauce is that it's slightly thick and can taste a little salty. 3. Legend Drumsticks - See above 4. Super Loaded Tender Fries - This was the kids' favorite because it had mac & cheese, chunks of chicken tenders, and fries. These are the same chicken tenders that were in the chicken sando, which is a great thing. When you take this home, the fries tend to lose their crunch, which is expected. It's probably best eaten in the restaurant if you want to experience crunchy fries. The cheese sauce has a slight tang to it, which could be due to the sharpness of the cheese or mustard, but it's very light. I was shocked at how good the chicken is from this place. I was also a bit shocked at the price. For the items mentioned, it was around $90. However, the portions are large and this was enough to feed 3 adults and 2 children for about 2.5 meals. Your mileage may vary depending on the appetite of the adults. I will happily return to this place to try some chicken with spice in the near future. read more
