A friend recommended this place to me so I decided to try them out. I ordered the carne asada quesadillas and they were pretty good! They were thick and the meat was very flavorful. Really enjoyed my horchata and the sides were pretty standard. When i picked up my order, the greeted my nicely and served me quickly. It looked nice and clean on the inside and lots of people were dinning would definitely come in next time

I've been here several times for lunch and dinner. I just tried it first breakfast and was so impressed! We had the ranchero breakfast and Chilaquiles. Both were delicious. The fresh carrot juice was amazing. Service was great and quick. They were so busy too. Can't wait to go back.

Let me start off by saying that I have visited the Burnham location quite a few times in the past. I've been to the Dyer location about 3 occasions that I can recall. I like that the menu is the same and the cooking is consistent. In Dyer, I'll say that it's as close to Mexican home cooking as you can get. My usual go to is the stuffed shrimp wrapped in bacon. This dish is my safe zone. I've had their Seafood Parrillada and and Mixed Parrillada. Parrilladas are smalls grills brought out to your table with your choice of protein. I was there last Saturday and went for something different. Since they specialize in Cecina, I decided to go with Cecina Campesina. The sauce on this dish is really good. From what I saw and tasted, it's a red sauce with cactus. Everything in the dish feels fresh. The beans taste fresh. Everything is seasoned generously but not overpowering. The sauce had a nice spicy kick but not overbearing. Many dishes, including this one, are served with homemade and handmade tortillas. They usually provide salsa and chips. The salsa looks and rates like itMs freshly made and ground in the Molcajete. Prices are very reasonable. Yes, you can find good Mexican food in Dyer! Please check this business out and form your own thoughts.

I've been to another LaCecina in Calumet City, and I've been to this one before also. The Cal City one is awesome, but when this location opened, i was unimpressed. The food was bland, the salsa had no flavor or heat. Things have changed here!! The server was friendly, fast and attentive. She was constantly buzzing about asking what we needed. THE FOOD: The salsa was tasty, smokey jalapenos skin in it for tremendous flavor, cilantro and onion is awesome. For entree I ordered the Cecina Campesina, which is Grilled flank steak covered with a sauce made from nopales (cactus), onion, tomato, cilantro, whole beans, and cheese. The mix of flavors in the dish I find irresistible. The tenderness of nopales with the beans and cheese and meat is superb. I could eat two or three platefuls. A small salad of lettuce, cucumber, and radish is small, but bright and tasty with a squirt of lime. The spanish rice is delicious, also. They put carrots and, at times peas in it. Great stuff. Their tortillas are made right there, too. My dining companions had the Caldo de Camarones (Shrimp Soup), and Ranchero Breakfast which they were delighted with. This place is authentic Mexican, and gets my stamp of approval!!

How do you confuse a carne charra meal with this.... NEVER ONCE, DID I ORDER IT WITH FRIES!

This... is absolutely ridiculous! People, do not waste your money going to a place that will just provide horrible customer service! And to the establishment, its really disgusting that you all can be heard talking trash about the customers when you go back to the kitchen plus I know when my wife is being insulted, I speak fluent Spanish, and I have never been more mortified or embarrassed and so disgusted to dine at a place where they provide horrible customer service.

Chips and Salsa. Chips were standard, salsa was Amazing and served warm.

The Mundo was good, but should offer 2 size bowls. And the kitchen needs to stop burning the flour tortillas. Otherwise good.

Torta de milanesa, the best torta around. I've been eating there for many years and this torta is always fresh and never skimpy.

I had the Peach Smoky Old Fashioned and a Caesar salad with crispy salmon. The cocktail was crafted with care, and I loved watching Morgan prepare the smoky Old Fashioned with such attention to detail. The salmon was perfectly seasoned and crispy, it was a great add on to my ceasar salad so delicious - kudos to the chef!! What stood out most was the hospitality. Morgan made me feel comfortable as I relaxed, read my book, and enjoyed my meal. She was personable, attentive, and created a welcoming atmosphere that even led to great conversations with other guests at the bar. Thank you, Morgan and Steph, for making my first time sitting at the bar such a memorable experience. I can't wait to come back!

I wouldn't order it again. My sister got the Tuscan chicken she said it was really good very filling. We will have leftover. And then my Uncle ordered the rice bowl. I forgot what protein was on it but he said it was delicious he finished the entire thing. There was bits of quinoa vegetables. It looked very healthy! We got drinks. They were not strong at all. Strawberry margaritas they tasted like juice and the espresso martini was pretty decent. The only strong drink I had was the Prosecco. The ambience of this place is very nice however they have a fly and a flea problem. Last time I was at this establishment they were all inside of the building. They need to get that infestation checked out immediately because it's always a problem when I'm there. Our server was not the best she's the one who had a lot of piercings in her face. She was attentive only in the beginning until we got our food and then we never saw her again. Not the best service.

We had a great waitress named Jennifer who took wonderful care of the eight of us. My wife and I ordered a half slab of ribs for an appetizer they were terrific. Then we shared the brick chicken. She got a special salad with it because she's not eating lettuce until they start saying that it's healthy again and the bread on the table was hot and garlic and they give you these sweet peppers that they've been marinated and are delicious and Vesuvio potatoes came with the brick chicken, which were wonderful and then we shared a giant piece of chocolate cake for dessert and somebody passed me a taste of their Keylime pie, which was also terrific. There were eight of us. Everybody had different meals. Most of them had lobster bisque soup instead of a salad. One of them had chicken soup with tiny noodles in it which they said was the best they ever had couple people had scallops over spinach, which they proclaimed was excellent and three of our people had various mistakes which they loved Maureen who sat next to me had tiramisu for dessert and she said it was one of the best she ever had so this restaurant had everything right and is an easy five star

This was my second visit to the restaurant, and unfortunately, both experiences were disappointing…read more The first time, I ordered an old-fashioned that fell flat and lacked any real depth of flavor. On my second visit a year later, I decided to give it another shot--this time opting for the traditional version instead of the smoked one. It was better, but still only average at best. It was also served warm, and the ice melted quickly, suggesting the glass or drink wasn't properly chilled. The martini was also underwhelming--it tasted mostly like juice, with little to no noticeable alcohol. As for the food, the starters were definitely the highlight. The French onion soup was actually very good. However, the main courses didn't live up to expectations. I ordered the steak medium rare, but it came out closer to medium well--overcooked and under-seasoned. The chicken Vesuvio was also disappointing; the sauce tasted like it came from a jar, and neither it nor the rice stood out in any meaningful way. On a positive note, the ambiance was very nice. The lighting created a pleasant atmosphere, and the staff was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. Overall, while the setting and service were enjoyable, the food and drinks didn't justify a return visit.

Theo's Steak & Seafood C/O District /Executive Director…read more9144 Indianápolis Blvd. Highland, IN 46322 Good afternoon, (A Really Bad Experience) I am writing to you concerning my visit to your establishment on February 7, 2026. I had the worst experience that I have ever had in a restaurant. First, I did not have a problem with the price because it was $60.00 per person and I paid for my daughter, son, and daughter-in-law, as well as myself. They were very unprofessional. One waitress came out and stated that we could order onions and mushrooms on our steak, but that would be an extra charge, if the bride state it was okay. I went to the bride, and they told her that it would be an extra $10.00, I gave her $15.00. So, at that point, they came out and took our orders and among the 4 of us we ordered a steak medium well with just a little charred on it. Well, I had to wait because the waitress came out and stated that they had charred it too much and they had to put me another one in. Now it is half an hour later and everybody in the place is complaining because now they are coming back stating that you can't order the onions or mushrooms that they have already given to the bride. Don't nobody want to go back and say give it back 1 /2 hour later, so we let her keep it. My steak came out burnt. Also, the waiter came around with water and one of the people at my table had gone out to the bar and purchased her a drink and he poured water in her glass that already had her drink that she paid for, and he told her that he would replace it. Then the manager whom I sent a picture of to the store came back and said she would get another drink, well she went back to the bar and purchased another and was waiting for the one that they were supposed to bring to her. So, I asked the manager if they could replace my steak and she threw her hands up in the air and stated that it is what you ordered and walked away. My daughter-in-law was so upset her husband had to make her be quiet because she was so mad at the lady who talked to me like that, and she travel all over the world and I have never seen her get upset like that. Everybody in the room complained about the services, we asked whether we could go out and order it from outside and still pay her and they kept telling us that we couldn't. I was so angry and I did not eat at all, and I only eat once a day and I had the worst service that I have ever had anywhere and we traveled all over the world. First, that Manager owes me an apology and I would like to meet with you concerning this, because it was so unprofessional, and maybe it was because of our race, I do not know, but at this point we all are saying I will never go back to Theo's. I feel that even if it costs extra, because not everybody eats steaks with onions or mushrooms on it, we still paid her $60.00 for their meal, that should have been able to order anything else. One lady just wanted a salad with any meat, just some lettuce, tomatoes, and croutons and they told her that they could not accommodate her with that. My god daughter that got married her son does not eat meat and she was able to just get him some noodles. I feel that even if we paid the $60.00 for the meal that we should still had been able to order something else, and not only that one waitress should not be able to tell you that you can order onions or mushroom on your steak and then the other one come back and say no. We did not care about the extra charge, and I feel we should have been able to order appetizers if we wanted them. A lot of us had not eaten all day, getting off the plane and going to the wedding and straight to your place and this is the service we received. I am not just complaining just about myself, but for my family, your staff need training on what they can or cannot do before entering that room and one person says one thing and the other one is saying something else. I have never been to any place where the manager did not try to rectify the situation or just remove that price off the bill. I sent a you the picture of the manager that was in charge I guess, but she was the one that threw her hands up in the air and said that is what you ordered. I order my steak chard everywhere and it has never been burnt, and they want me to except it, and I did not eat one thing on the plate. I just paid for something that I could not eat. Your place was very beautiful and that was my first time there, but that was a horrible experience, but when you went out of the room the bartenders and all the other people were so nice. I do not feel that the people that were working back there in the room can handle 50 people and one time ordering, but they should have been a little more accommodating. I know she had to pay $3,000.00 for just the people and a tip, but I don't feel that she got what she paid for. I tried to send this letter to the store,so that someone would contact me and they never did till this day.
