I scheduled an appointment for two services well in advance -- only for the team at LaserAway to reschedule me THREE times, the last one being on the day of the appointment. Despite the constant back-and-forth, I still showed up expecting professional service. What I got was anything but. Upon arrival, I was told -- with no prior notice -- that they didn't have time to complete both services. That's right: after moving my schedule around multiple times for their changes, they then told me in person that they wouldn't actually be able to fulfill the appointment I booked. I was understandably frustrated and left without receiving any services. But it gets worse -- I later found out that I was charged anyway for services I never received. This is completely unacceptable and feels like a blatant disregard for customers' time, money, and trust. I've reached out to customer support for a full refund, but the fact that I even have to go through this step is frustrating enough. LaserAway: Your Reston location needs serious attention. This level of disorganization and lack of accountability is not what people pay premium prices for.

Plus, I haven't seen her as a patient since I donated four months ago.) - My "patient advisor" telling me, inaccurately, that they are concerned about my "liver" function. I pointed out that my liver function is just fine. - My "patient advisor" telling me that my (bad) kidney numbers "keep going up, up, up." That's simply not accurate. - The "patient advisor" telling me that they would give me Celebrex post-op. My response: "Um, no. As I told you earlier, as a kidney donor, I cannot take NSAIDs." - My "patient advisor" falsely telling me, apropos a possible discount, "As I told you earlier...." Again, that simply didn't happen. - The practice ignoring my PCP's clearance for the procedure and, instead, saying they would delay for two months. - The practice ignoring my nephrologist's verbal clearance for the procedure and, instead, saying they would delay for two months due to a minor blip in my kidney numbers. To be clear, they should have asked my nephrologist about a pre-op evaluation, not my surgeon. I'm pretty disappointed, as this was going to be my present to myself after kidney donation. To be clear: I appreciate their being careful. But when we are talking about my health, accuracy is key. And I am just not seeing it. Plus, while these inaccuracies may not be a big deal when individually considered, taken as a whole, they are deeply concerning. And I don't know how a patient can give informed consent when they are getting bad information about being given NSAIDs, etc. In fact, I don't know why you would give an NSAID to a patient post-surgery, but perhaps I'm missing something. I should also state, in fairness, that my patient advisor is very new, so that may be part of the issue. She also is not an RN, which is okay, but then she should have a high level of basic medical knowledge-like knowing that you cannot give kidney donors NSAIDs. I've asked for my deposit to be refunded and plan to go elsewhere. I'd love to recommend this practice, but I can't.

I was also surprised by a $25 physician consult fee for a phone call that lasted less than three minutes, during which I was simply asked if I had any drug allergies. The physician was not onsite, I did not request a consult, and I was not given a choice in the matter. This fee was not disclosed upfront. I've had IV drips at least four times with two other providers and have never been charged a physician consult fee or encountered undisclosed add-on charges. Between the shorter treatment time and the unexpected fee, I won't be returning. UPDATE on 1/2/2026: I am updating my review from two stars to one star. This confirmed for me that the original public response was performative rather than genuine. The business already had my full contact information from intake (phone number, email, and home address) and could have reached out directly at any time. Given how this situation was handled--and the pressure to remove an honest review--I am deeply concerned about how this business is being run, particularly by owners who are not licensed healthcare professionals (neither a nurse nor a physician).
