As soon as we walked in, we noticed the honeycomb booth wall -- such a cool visual touch -- though it was unfortunately full. We began with drinks and appetizers. The drinks were refreshing and well-balanced. The pork bao buns were a standout -- warm, pillowy buns with tender pork that was slightly sweet, savory, and melt-in-your-mouth soft. The takoyaki had a rich, creamy interior and was topped beautifully, though the octopus itself was a bit chewy. Still, the flavors were bold and satisfying. The ramen arrived shortly after, and every bowl was truly excellent. The broth was deep and layered, full of umami, and clearly simmered with care. The broth was simply amazing and the noodles held their shape well without becoming soggy in the broth. My husband and I came here for a date night and throughly enjoyed ourselves. I really loved how the seating was arranged against the wall. They had little honey comb type booths and we got to sit in one. We ordered drinks and the robot delivered them to our table which was fun and cool to see. We ordered the fried squid for our appetizer and it was good. I would have enjoyed it a little more if a sauce had came with it on the side. For our main dishes my husband ordered the Katsuobushi Pork Ramen and he really liked it. I ordered the Kyushu Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen and it was phenomenal. I haven't been here in 2 years but I was sorely disappointed when I came here for dinner with my family. #1 Tonkatsu ramen white garlic - tasted good, came out super fast, this is the only main menu I'd recommend from here Teriyaki Beef Rice burger - rice was falling apart, beef was lacking in flavor, very underwhelming Purple sweet potato fries - super delicious and soft, I'd highly recommend getting these. This came with the combo set with the rice burger Tonkatsu omurice - tonkatsu was very oily, rice was undercooked Eel Kamameshi - this took 15-20 min (which is ok since they let us know in advance) but I was extremely disappointed in this beautiful dish. Eel was way too salty and sweet. It was not even warm. Egg was overly sweet. Rice was undercooked and sweet too. The waitresses were okay but they did not bring the food out at the same time. This was extremely frustrating as each food item came out every 5-10 minutes. We spent $100 for very mediocre food and service. We were quickly seated in a booth that was very intimate and modern. Within the booth there were already spices available for your dish and a button to press for service if needed. To drink we had waters in very trendy glasses, my husband had the Strawberry soju and I tried a sake jelly shot for the first time which was super tasty and refreshing. They have the regular seating tables, bar, hexagon booths against a wall, and private booths. We opt for the private booths since there was a wait for the hexagon booths. If someone from Japan is choosing this spot for ramen it's a pretty strong sign they're doing something right. I've come here more times than I can count and my usual order is the original chicken ramen paired with crispy gyoza and a refreshing Thai tea that hits just the right balance of sweet and creamy. This last time though I decided to mix it up a bit. I kept the chicken ramen because it's too good to skip but added the tonkatsu omurice with beef gravy. That dish was a revelation. The fluffy egg draped over the rice and the rich savory gravy mingling with the tender pork cutlet made every bite absolutely delicious. By the end I was so stuffed I felt like I might need to roll out the door but it was worth every second of that happy food coma. I liked how they had a little area with extra seasoning to add to it making it easy to customize how you want. I liked the curry a lot which is expected since I like curry. They also have the best takoyaki in the entire Northsideof Atl. I ordered the ommurice and fell in love with the deep flavors and presentation. We originally saw The Restaurant on TikTok, and came for the honeycomb booths, which 10 out of 10 for ambience! If I was very calm and collected, and I'm a sucker for anime, so the music was pretty fun! Our waitress was super nice and demure, but also very attentive which I liked. I ordered the regular chicken Ramen with a grapefruit aloe tea that was iced, it was really good. And then we all got some Sake, that was pretty strong, not gonna lie. Glad I wasn't the one to drive. They also have 2 robots that seemed to deliver drinks or utensils to tables which I thought was pretty cool. I had never seen that anywhere before. We ordered 3 bowls of ramen, the omurice, and a lemonade. We came specifically for the omurice because I don't think you can get Japanese omurice like that anywhere else in this area. They cut the egg for us when it was brought to the table which is pretty cool, but the omurice itself was just okay. We shared the plate among 4 of us and none of us really cared for it. I didn't like the lemonade at all. The ramen was good though. We enjoyed the taste of the broth and the noodles were cooked well. Service was great. Gonna be honest; I came to try the omurice because I have been craving it since I saw it on YouTube. The unique dining experience here has got to be the honeycomb booths, stacked on top of each other. There's also private dining rooms, but that's nothing new. It comes out tableside where they split the egg open, letting it run over the rice, after which the server pours the demiglace or curry over the rice. It was pretty good.. but $18? First I will say the most egregious thing I saw was a carton of half and half was sitting on the counter at the server station the entire time I was there which was over an hour. I have no problem asking for it but others could be missing out. Another thing - some tables had government/official looking signs about allergies. The table I sat at didn't have a sign so not sure what was said. For consistency they should have it on every table or something. What if it was important? We were at an event at gas south and realized how close we were to kyuramen so came with no hesitation! I've been eyeballing this place for awhile from Instagram and Facebook. Came on a Sunday around 4pm and no wait to sit. They put us in the honeycomb situation and that by itself is a cool experience! Also, be careful because I wasn't looking and almost put my foot in a hole I have been wanting to try omurice so I got the tonkatsu omurice combo with demi glace sauce. The server that delivered it asked if I wanted to video the cutting which I wouldn't normally do but since she asked ‍ the omurice had a really great egg texture and wasn't too salty. I loved it and am so glad I chose this dish! The tonkatsu was juicy & tender and came atop a bed of spring mix. I do wish it came atop a bed of shredded cabbage instead but that's ok! The bottom wasn't quite crispy but it was delicious and the top was crispy. I think the lettuce may have had too much moisture. I dipped my tonkatsu in the egg/demi glace and that was lit for me. My meal also came with a lemonade or Thai tea so I got the lemonade which was cucumber lemonade and it was so refreshing! My husband got the Kyushu spicy ramen and it was a good heat level! Very tasty broth and portion was enough to be full but not so much you need to eat it twice. He also got the combo meal which comes with Thai tea and a pork bao. The tea was random imo but good! Pork bao had a thick cut of pork and an even bigger bao. Very visually appealing and both had a good texture. We also got the agedashi and their green onions here are so good. They cut them like we saw all over Japan which just makes it better. They also have a cute look all over. They have combo meals so it gives you a variety The pork bun baos were delicious and the Kimchi Ramen was so good! The staff is SUPER attentive but just one small comment would be that they were almost TOO attentive. If you look up, someone would automatically come to the table. There wasn't just ONE server per table so we would get a rotation of a bunch of servers. It kept happening so fast, from the moment we sat down to the moment we left, the whole meal took 30mins Other than that, everything was great! I recommend for a quick experience haha read more
