Wow. I feel fleeced. Came here at 1:35 pm on a quiet Friday afternoon after getting a rare day off from work to relax and I wanted to treat myself to a nice meal and ordered the "onakase" sushi b (12 nigiri). Didn't get my meal until 30 min later (there were only three tables including myself at this time and one ordered and ate before I even got my food). I was so hungry at this point I ate the entire plate instead of just walking out like I wanted to which pissed me off even more because while the fish was ok, the rice was dry and stale. Yet this is their chefs tasting menu. All this for $80 before tax. Absolutely shocked. Clearly from the reviews, this is not their usual quality?? I don't often get sushi due to the expense so it's a treat and this place disappointed me so much. the nigiri rice was somehow worse than what I've had when getting takeout sushi. Fyi I would have given 0 stars if possible but the one star is only deserved by the server who was quite nice and apologetic as he noticed how long I had to wait when the restaurant was practically empty. read more

I feel like 8 might be the largest table setting they have with possibility of squeezing in another chair. Service was great! Very attentive! Bang bang shrimp: nice and crispy, sauce was very flavored (not pictured) Spicy tuna roll and spicy salmon roll: very similar in taste, did not really have a hint of spiciness to it this time. Shrimp tempura roll: very standard, my son's favorite. Blue ocean: had the highest hope for this one but it was just okay. Rock and roll: by far my favorite! It doesn't have any rice in it. The cilantro sauce was delicious. Also loved the texture, has a slight chew to it. Chicken fried rice: meat was tendered, the rice was well flavored and lots of variety of vegetables in it. NY steak: a bit too sweet for my liking, wouldn't recommend. It does come with either white rice or fried rice. Alcoholic drinks are available. Fukulala is a quaint Japanese restaurant located in a shopping strip in Suwanee. I met with a friend here for dinner and we enjoyed the experience. The service was not good, however, and we could tell that our server was very inexperienced in regards to anticipating our needs. At one point, we were the only ones in the restaurant and had to wait 30 minutes for the check after prompting. I enjoyed the sushi rolls we ordered, which included the Tuna Fantasy and Haru Roll. We were driving back from a food festival event that was underwhelming and decided to stop on the way home to have dinner. We happened on this unassuming neighborhood sushi restaurant and decided to give it a try and so glad we did. The restaurant was 2/3 full at 8 pm on a Friday night and we took that as a good sign. The service was attentive and quick. My partner ordered the sashimi salad and I ordered the steak. I was halfway through my meal before remembering to take a photo so you're going to have to trust that the presentation was as good as the dish. The steak was pre-sliced and served on a bed of steamed broccoli and the rice was served in a separate bowl. I thought the meat was of good quality but the sauce (I tasted like a teriyaki sauce) was a little sweet for me but I generally don't like sweet sauces so it'll probably be fine for others. The sashimi salad came with a generous amount of protein and most surprisingly(in a good way) baby arugula was used. We weren't hungry enough to order other items but if you live in the neighborhood, definitely make this your go to if you like sushi. read more

I came here with my family for lunch on a weekday, and I have to say, I was really pleasantly surprised -- the food was so good that we came back for some takeout later in the week. This place is a bit more upscale than a lot of other sushi places I've been to in the area, and the prices reflect that. But I thought the quality of the food was fantastic (and the plating downright gorgeous), so if you're looking for a more elevated sushi experience, this is the place to go. We ordered the Winter Truffle Salmon, 2pcs of unagi, the tonkotsu ramen, the Out of Control (8 pcs), and the Sexy on the Beach (8 pcs). Everything was fresh and delicious and beautifully plated. They also manage to put together some beautiful flavor combinations: the Winter Truffle Salmon, for example, is dabbed in sea salt, seasoned with truffle oil, and garnished with micro-greens and thinly-cut radishes. Food quality, ambience, and service were always supreme. I've been here a couple times and it's always very peaceful inside. Even during July 4th, there were only our table and another couple. Food quality is always consistent. Their menu items are creative and some are unique to the restaurant. From basic items like Spicy Tuna to Rainbow Roll, the taste is always superior compare to other sushi restaurants we've been to. A few items from the appetizer and the roll sections incorporated apples into the ingredients. Unique and very freshing. They made it worked somehow. Other items like: Pork Belly Buns: This was the best I've ever had. The bun was so soft. Pork belly was so tender and juicy. The pickled cucumbers and cilantro tasted similar to the ones used in Banh Mi. A nice balance to the lump of belly fat inside. Assortment of Sashimi: Super fresh and high quality. Even the ones with skin on, usually I tried to avoid, but they tortched the skin so it had a grilled taste. No hint to fishyness. This is by far our number one sushi restaurant in GA so far.
