Very cute place! The service here is always exceptional! Hands down one of my wife's favorite place for sushi (after Kani House) but Mori House also never fails. Food is always great but this place gets packed and service can be slow sometimes. Sushi is always amazing and their ramen is good too.

I've been coming here for 15 years. The first few years they would give complimentary cucumber salad (they have stopped doing that for many years now) and I sadly have never found a match to that salad even by the one they offer now. However, in that time I have never had a bad experience or even a mediocre one. The food and service is good (aside from the scallop dynamite that has unfortunately gone downhill- don't order that). Aside from the scallop dynamite my experiences have remained unwaveringly positive. However I do wish the restaurant would go back to their roots and return back to a more traditional Japanese restaurant with their cucumber salad and their hot towels they would offer that made you feel immersed in the Japanese culture. read more

We went for a weekday lunch and it was already a pretty full house despite only being open ~30 minutes by the time we came. - Lunch sets come with miso soup (tasted pretty standard) and salad (dressing is on the watery side, was just meh overall). - Hot green tea is free, but you'll need to ask for it. Tasted very watered down compared to other Japanese restaurants -Chirashi don- $22. This is huge. Fish is pretty fresh. Sushi rice is decently flavored. Overall I probably prefer Circle Sushi's chirashi don though. - Otoro (fatty tuna) nigiri- $12.50 a piece ($25 for two), which is a bit more expensive compared to other places in Atlanta. It was decent. I prefer Shoya Izayaka's, which is $22 for 2 pieces - Bento Misoyaki- $18. This comes with black cod (really good, but on the smaller size), two pieces of croquette, 4 pieces California roll, ginger salad, and rice. Overall a pretty decent deal. I'd be interested in coming back to try dinner menu items sometime. read more

This past weekend was our 1st visit to Mori House. It's a small but very cozy feel, more like a mom & pop sushi place. Which we love. They do not have kids menu so we ordered tonkosu soup, Tori Karaage fried chicken. The kids loved it. We also ordered salmon carpaccio, Hamachi Serrano which is a must try. I have been coming here for 15 years or so. When I first started coming here it was a traditional Japanese sushi place with hot cloth towels offered when you sat down to specials that you didn't see anywhere else. Unfortunately it is now more like a strip sushi place you would find in the middle of Alabama. The staff is friendly but it is nothing like it used to be and this is reflected by how busy it is. This is a great spot for sushi! That's all we went for so I cannot comment on their other menu items, but I can tell you the fish is fresh. We went on a Friday at lunch and sat at the sushi bar. The ladies who waited on us were extremely nice and definitely want to make your experience a good one. Two of our party ordered a large hot sake to split and it arrived in a very neat way. The carafe of sake was placed inside another bowl that had hot water, so it stayed hot. Very smart. I was a little disappointed that they did not have sake cocktails as I'm not very fond of straight sake, but it was fine..I ordered a glass of Riesling instead. We ordered many rolls and nigiri which I won't render all of them, but here's a few: salmon and octopus nigiri (sushi. You order by the piece, unlike some places that if you order one salmon sushi, it automatically comes with two pieces), Kiss of Fire roll, Yummy roll, Crazy roll, spicy scallop hand rolls, Uemo roll, and Red Carpet roll. I think there were one out two more, but I don't remember what they were. Everything was delicious and fresh. The only one I probably wouldn't order again was the Yummy roll. It had very small pieces of fish and a lot of rice and it was fried, so it was kind of tasteless. But I don't mind having one like that...and I'm sure someone else will love it. Mori house is one of two sushi restaurants continently located off the super busy PIB, and is definitely one that should be tried for all sushi fans. They have lots of options on the menu so it's a little overwhelming choosing which rolls you want, but regardless of your decision, all of the rolls taste great and the fish is extremely fresh. I ordered the Ichiban, Tokyo, Long Island, and a sashimi assortment to share with 2 others. The total came out to around $75, which is pretty standard pricing for sushi. The star of the show was 100% the sashimi; with nothing else in the way, you could tell just how fresh the fish was, even after the 20 minute trek back home to eat. We really enjoyed our dinner at Mori House. We started with some Agedashi tofu which was soft & had a mild flavor. Next up were a couple of rice bowls; gyudon for me, katsudon for my son. The gyudon was great. I love that it had a lot of ginger mixed in. My son really likes tonkatsu pork cutlets. He said it was good; but that it wasn't as crisp as he's had at other places. I suspect that's because it was sitting atop a bowl of steamed rice which softened it. Overall very satisfied, and will go back! read more

The sushi here is high quality and top notch as well as the Tonkotsu Ramen and appetizers are excellent as well. The Manhattan roll recommended by our waiter was an excellent choice and I certainly enjoyed this roll. I have had mixed reviews about Mori House since it first open. On one occasion, I ordered 3-4 sushi rolls. The surprise? None of them were cut! I had a sushi slab instead of sushi rolls... This occurrence prevented me from coming back for a while. A few years later, I returned to give them another try. Their fish is very fresh. I enjoy all of their hand rolls, nigiri, and sashimi. Bad sushi and funky fish dishes. Shari was wet and grainy - it was the 2nd time in my whole lifetime of eating sushi that I had this bad rice, (the other I deserved it; insisting for a random place). Hamachi kama was vile and they even manages to bring it out to serve; for those of you who didn't know these come frozen in packages and is one of the easier dish to prepare and is not that hard to figure out whether your product is fresh or not. Well, teetered on a 4 or 5, but what can I say? My first visit was perfect! Met my friend here for an early dinner, and had used yelp to find a sushi place in Suwanee. Unknowingly, they were serving up a happy hour from 5-7 for this Thursday visit. They aren't too far off from Exit 111 on 85 but certainly out of the way for Atlantans. If you live around this area, this should be your sushi place. It sits on a strip lot on the end, and there is ample parking. They have an outside area but it's more for waiting (no tables and not covered). Walking in, it's very clean and modern. Ambiance is nice. We sat at the sushi bar for convenience and to check out what the sushi chefs were making. So, about this happy hour. $3 draft beers (Sapporo and Kirin), $7 craft sake cocktails, and specially priced appetizers. Totally worth it! I had two Kirin's and started with their salmon ceviche. Wow, that thing was delicious and was part of their happy hour pricing. It was so good that my friend needed to order one. Fish was fresh in it and they used a lime foam on top. I thin ordered a salmon hand roll with a lot of wasabi. Their wasabi is legit and will punch you in the brain but oh so nicely. The hand roll was very good! It could've used some onions, spicy mayo and maybe cilantro. We then split a roll that the sushi chefs recommended (can't recall name of it, we just asked them to make the spiciest thing they had). Sadly, don't recall what was in the roll bc I downed it so fast but it was very fresh, and slightly spicy. Overall, service was great, sushi was amazing and vibe from the place was great! I'd like to come back here again but Suwanee is sooooo far. Mori's was once our favorite spot for lunch. Their bento box chicken or salmon lunch was wonderful. we got a ginger salad, miso soup, several pieces of tempura ( two shrimp and a piece or two of assorted veggies) a half of a California roll, rice and small serving of chicken or salmon teriyaki. It was great. Today's lunch was not great. The owner changed the memo. The bento no longer comes with the tempura, instead they substituted some tasteless potato croquette. The chicken was no longer breast meat but tough thigh meat!! To get vegetable tempura (no shrimp) was nine bucks extra bucks! So the place has lots value and taste in my opinion. My sushi dinner arrived at the table 16 minutes before my friends dumplings appetizer. 4-5 minutes later I received my seaweed salad. A few minutes after that, the ginger salad and a soup. Then the other main dishes ... Our waitress and the receptionist were kind and lovely. Another waitress who delivered our trays of food was abrupt and acted quite annoyed. Place was packed at 7p on a Tuesday evening. Wait time for a party of 2 was 40 minutes. Definitely make reservations ahead of time. Ginger salad was awesome. Seaweed salad too syrupy -- pass. Odaibo roll was fantastic ! Firecracker roll was unique to me, was topped with bbq sauce. Dumplings were over cooked, hard/chewy in areas. Cutlet was tender and moist. Perfect ! Matcha IPA beer was smooth and mildly hoppy. The color kept me happy ! Ganache cheesecake was quite tasty. Not overly sweet, just decadent ! I will return for the sushi. Totally based on my personal taste. I am big fan of sushi and sashimi rather than cooked fish. I had several visits over course of a year. Compared to nearby japanese restaurants. Their sushi and sashimi are BEST. BEST!! You cannot beat their freshness. Even top sushi chefs in atlanta know they carry fresh sushi. I feel like that says a lot about them. It is very fresh! I have had multiple sashimi, sushi assortments in addition to sashimi omakase as well. I have had their fry appetizers, okonomiyaki, takoyaki etc as well. Also had their ramen before. Tried udon today as well. Every time i eat any noodles with soup, i regret. They are below my expectation. I can taste tap water taste in water. It is not just me, my kids did not like it because of the soup taste with tap water taste. They gotta change with costco water or something. I feel like Udon itself would get better review just by changing water. At the end, i would always go for their okonomiyaki, fry appetizers, sushi/sashimi(always will order kanpachi and madai), sake don but would not go for others. I have to say that it is difficult please with rolls with me. A lot of people likes their rolls. Their rolls are not over beyond, they are like any good roll places. They are not bad but not enough to bring me back. I always rave about their sushi but average for rolls and below expectation from soup noodles. I do spend over $150 every time i go because i like raw sushi but i would come back for sushi and sashimi. I would have given 5 stars based on sushi/sashimi but their noodle soups made 4 stars. Mori House opened their doors in Suwanee back in 2003 and by the packed out restaurant every time I've dined here it looks to be a fan favorite of many in the area. They serve a long list of sushi rolls along with other Japanese dishes and noodles. Love the recent renovations that were made at Mori House. The interior style now is modern yet warm. I like the new style, decor, and layout a lot. They now have a private room available which is nice for a group gathering. Service, food, and price point are still great! Even though this place gets packed and busy, the servers are attentive and ordered plates come out in a timely manner. Mori House serves up everything from sushi rolls to udon/ramen to hibachi plates. There is truly something for everyone here. The menu is pretty extensive here and we've enjoyed all the dishes, sushi rolls, nigiri, and bowls of udon and ramen. The fish is always fresh and presentation in the dishes are pleasing to the eye. The sushi chefs behind the sushi bar have a strong attention to detail. Looking forward to my next visit! Always appreciate the warm welcome and service as well as the good food.
