Love this place! I've been several times and can confidently report that, in every iteration, LA Jackson is a top notch affair. The first time I went, I was flying solo. I had an hour to kill before meeting a friend for dinner. So up up up I went to LA Jackson - gorgeous views, chill sounds, chic decor and kind service. Follow through a few weeks later, went with my husband - equally impressive. This time, hubs challenged the bartender to create something special based on his interest - no prob! Awesome cocktails and great vibe. Most recently, we went with a big group - so much fun. A few tips: Reservations seem to be selectively allocated, if at all. So seating in the chic decor is first-come. It can get CROWDED! If groups are your thing, this is great. If you prefer a bit of quiet, go on off hours. There are two bars - if the central, interior bar is packed, snake outside and hit the roof deck bar. Enjoy, and cheers! read more

This bar was the absolute worst! We where in nashville for my bacherlotte trip! Waited atleat 20 mins before the bartender asked us what we needed. When she finally asked us i told her i had a question and she said if you have a question you will have to wait. After patiently waiting 15 more mins she finally took our order. Another bartender was making drinks the bottle hit the side of the bar sending broken glass and alcohol up in the air and all of my hair and shirt was soaked. (Which i understand this was an accident and was not on purpose) I looked up at the bartender and he said "what do you want me to say i am sorry?" In this sarcastic tone. I asked if i could have some napkins and he threw them in my face. We didnt even try any of the drinks at this bar. But the bartenders where absolutely terrible. Beautiful view of the city ! Really good vibes , great music and fantastic customer service. Wine and food selection were very unique & forced me out of my typical comfort zone of basic bar food. I'm in love with L.A. Jackson! They've got a great view of the city, and their rooftop and bar are super cute. I've never had a drink here that wasn't excellent. The Frose is delicious, and perfect for summer. The Fuzz & The Overachiever are both great as well. On Fridays and Saturdays now, this place gets pretty crazy. They have a DJ, and sometimes there's a waitlist to go to the rooftop. But it's still a blast! And it's even better to go on a casual weekday or Sunday evening, because it's more chill and there's plenty of places to sit, relax and enjoy the view. read more

Five stars for a swanky atmosphere, great views, excellent bartenders and drinks, and good service. I visited here for pre-dinner drinks before our reservation at The Marsh House. Our reservation was at 8 so we went up around 7:30. It wasn't crowded at all and we were able to order drinks pretty quickly. The drinks were expertly crafted and some of the best in Nashville. The views are stunning and transported me to New York or Chicago. Prices were reasonable and we had a good time. Of course the noise level was pretty loud... as to be expected on a chilly night when the glass doors opening the bar to the rooftop patio were closed. I would go back for sure. As to be expected for a bar like this, there's not a ton of seating and you should expect to stand and drink. Vibe here is a little older and more sophisticated crowd. My friends and I wanted to check out what a rooftop bar is like in Nashville but after being to so many in Chicago and NYC, it was unepic for me. But this place did offer a nice perspective of the Nashville skyline and I was in love with the lighted tree that they had in the middle of the courtyard at the rooftop. I love the decors that LA Jackson had going on. It was pretty crowded for a Saturday night and all the outside tables were taken so come early if you want to snatch a good table for your group of friends. read more

Alright, so we wanted a rooftop spot for our first night in Nashville and we heard this place was a good one. It is in the Thompson Hotel and the entrance, lobby and bar within this hotel was stunning. The elevator took us up to the top floor where the LA Jackson bar was located and right as we got off the elevator, a group of men were walking onto the elevator and they said to each other, "Well these people clearly aren't from Nashville" and kept walking. We didn't know why the heck they would say that as we were dressed appropriately and looking pretty great in my opinion but that put a bad taste in our mouths the second we got to the bar. The clientele was mixed, some older, some younger. Mostly male bartenders who were attentive at times, other times not so much. The bar inside is fairly large with comfy bar stool seating. Their drinks are a little bit more expensive than you would get at other bars but I guess you have to remember you're paying for the view. Outside was beautiful, great view of the sunset in between buildings and it was spacious enough for us to stand comfortably at the outdoor bar. There were no bartenders outside, but when we were seen walking towards the bar on the patio, someone immediately jumped behind the bar to assist us, which was nice even though we were already being helped. Lots of places to sit outside and enjoy some good weather. I have not had the food here, only drinks. The vibe felt slightly pretentious but I am probably only feeling that way because of the comment the gentlemen made as we were walking out of the elevator. We came on a Wednesday night around 7 and it wasn't crowded so if you're looking for a rooftop without live music with more of an upscale atmosphere I would recommend this place. read more

We got here at 10pm and the women said "45 min wait" so we waited 45 minutes in the lobby. 45 min my ass - we waited 2 hours to see this place which was the biggest mistake. Finally made it to the top of the list and the hostess wasn't even there anymore. We go up and two groups who had just walked in with reservations after us (said they only waited an hour) walk right in. WTF. When we get in her excuse is "people were moving tables around". To top off our sh*%%y experience she sets us at two tables and not as a group in the back corner that smells like sewage. Rudest hostess, shitty place, and a bunch of BS. read more

A brew with a view! Not really sure how to describe this place...it's as though Trader Joe's employees are working at the bar from Crazy Stupid Love set in LA at a park. I visited on a Friday night with a few friends. We barely found outdoor seating (that was the place to be) at a large picnic table. Just about everyone in my group ordered the Summer Lovin' cocktail, but the real winner was the Let's Hang Out. It's like a piña colada on ice (not blended). Mad respect to anyone who can order any of the cocktails without blushing...they all made me feel like Mrs. Robinson a la The Graduate (e.g. "How's the Hot n' Bothered?"). We also ordered the Catfish Chips which everyone seemed to enjoy as a snack and the Jolene for dessert. Meanwhile, my group of 30-40-somethings co-mingled with the nearby 40-50-somethings and noticed that we were all in good company. Good spread of age groups and clothing styles. It's clearly a trendy place, but not offensively so. My best advice is to wear comfy shoes if you go for an evening visit as you'll probably be standing and don't be in a hurry as service slows down a bit after a certain time. Well, that didn't take long. There's still a lot to like about LA Jackson but I'm not as gaga about it as I used to be. It's far too crowded these days and the crowd is... interesting. It's as though people are here because *other* people are supposed to be here. Does that make sense? The scene the space used to make feels far less authentic than it used to be. On a recent Saturday visit, I was shocked at how empty it was. Remember back months ago when there were lines to the lobby on weekdays. Additionally, the tax/tip trick that's going on with the wine/cocktail program is not a good look at all. Rather than incorporating tax into the drink price (as usual), you're getting hit with paying $16+ before tip for a $13 cocktail. Nope. No sir. Greeted by a very rude and inconsiderate hostess. Harassed about simply standing up during a wedding dinner. This is supposed to be a very special time for family and they did their very best to ruin the experience all while claiming Covid is the reason we can't simply stand up and greet family. It was my girlfriends 21st birthday and they surprised us with the Funnel Cake desert and a huge sparkler which was unexpected and awesome. We had a little hiccup with an unwanted guest trying to join our table, and the management that night and our waitress dealt with the issue so professionally, it honestly was some of the best service I've ever received. Headed up here fro a nightcap after an insanely gluttonous meal downstairs at the Marsh House, and we were treated to a gorgeous 270 degree view of Nashville. You can clearly see the AT&T "Battower", and from there it's fun to try to orient yourself. The outside patio was gorgeous; I wish I could experience it's full majesty in the summer. As it was, we lurked out here longer than we should have even though it was SO COLD. I ordered a drink off their menu and was not a fan; should have stuck to my Old Fashioned! Partially my fault for deviating, but bartender recomended it when I told him I liked Bourbon. Wish the crowd was a bit more lively - felt oddly subdued for 10 pm - but I suppose it was a Thursday. Really cool hotel and rooftop bar. Spacious indoor/outdoor space and comfortable seating. The wait staff and bartenders were very accommodating and their drinks were very good and well made. Our waiter was very nice and allowed us to take back to drinks because they were not what we expected. 4 STARS! The bar ambiance is very trendy and what I like to call millennial. The pictures online show in a little bit more impressive than what it actually is. The music was not very impressive as it was not really a real DJ, just someone with their laptop. The rooftop bar overlooks the city. The drinks overall were great and they put a little bit of extra effort and skill in to making them. However, they over charged me two dollars on a drink based on the price it was on the menu. LA Jackson offers a great view of the downtown skyline and isn't too shabby in the people watching arena either. We just stayed for a drink but our server was polite and attentive despite the fact that she was clearly covering a large amount of space. The interior bar looked pretty neat. While I imagine they have heat lamps outside at night I would recommend they bring them out during cold days as well. read more

Beautiful restaurant, loved the vibe, but the host was SO rude. Was not nice, was not interactive, just kind of cold towards us. We weren't allowed to sit inside during our 30 minute wait "due to covid", which is fine, so we sat by the elevators to wait. We watched multiple parties walk out of the restaurant complaining of the hostess with lots to say. We weren't the only ones who noticed.
