This is located smack on the strip of Champs Elysees. It's pretty big with both indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outdoors but you are still in covered area so you don't feel like the crowds passing is on top of you. Service was just strange I'd say. Not terrible but certainly not great. Like they weren't blatantly bad or rude but they didn't seem very interested and was kind of impatient. Like when the waiter came to the table, he didn't greet us or anything, just went straight to "are you ready to order?". But we also didn't get any drink menus, so we weren't ready, and he just walked away when we didn't start ordering fast enough. Drinks: we ordered the Aperol spritz and passion mojito for cocktails. Charming restaurant down street from Arc de Triumph on the Champs Elysees. Best service I have experienced in Paris on this trip. They kept watch on my table and refilled wine glass as it became low. I ordered the FRENCH ONION SOUP...smply called "Onion Soup" here in France :). It was delicious. It is served au gratin, meaning it is covered in delicious baked cheese. TIP: Onion soup comes with baguettes drowned in the soup. I asked for some extra baguettes for dipping in the broth and covering with melted cheese. Highly recommended! A RED BOURGOGNE WINE is the perfect pairing with the onion soup. The light fruity wine with an acidic character pairs well with the rich cheesy soup. The older host who we spoke to upon arrival was so off putting and told us the only table we could sit in was in the middle near the register since everything was reserved. However, there were 2 tables that did not say reserved so when we asked our waiter, we were moved with no issue. The mussels were so bitter, definitely did not enjoy. Second time we've been here, it's Alsatian cuisine which is a blend of German/french, this time I found it to be Over priced and not great. The veal was extremely tough. The waiter was a bit of a douche being a bit rude and dismissive, pretty much the stereotypical French waiter. When we turned the veal back we never saw him again and it was another server who came around, who actually tried to make up for it. The octopus,escargot, and duck confit were good. Going international. First time in Paris and after visiting the Arc de Triumph, went to eat an early dinner. They quickly sat us down and were kind enough to ask us which language we preferred. To be honest, I didn't want to come in because it seemed like a tourist trap, but I was outvoted. My fears turned out to be well founded. The food was mediocre at best, and too expensive. I got the French Onion Soup for a starter and the broth was way too thin. It also wasn't very warm. For my main course, I got the Sea Bass Fillet but substituted the risotto for the spinach. The fish was cooked well but it was sitting in a pool of butter. I cannot adequately describe how unappetizing this was. They forgot to swap the spinach out, so I decided to taste it. The spinach had likewise been doused in some sort of sauce that was equally unappealing. They did bring the risotto out once I pointed out the mistake, but honestly I wish they hadn't. It was basically mush and had zero taste. Incredibly disappointing. I ordered a St. Germaine Spritz and it was mediocre. I would not recommend this place. While the food I had here was tasty, I felt a few things could have improved my experience. First, their bread was a little chewy and old tasting. In a city where bread is so important, I feel like it should have been better. Next, the service was typical "French", which was no problem for me, but our waiter seemed extra salty towards us Americans. Perhaps this is a sign of the times, but I don't enjoy being treated this way when I'm paying for the experience... no matter the political climate. Went here after reading google reviews giving it 4.5 stars. Somehow yelp reviews were much lower and those were more accurate. Our food was okay. Service was terrible. Strangest restaurant service we've ever had. My husband ordered a beer and the waiter told him not to order that one and then told him which beer he should order. The waiter eventually served him the beer he wanted after my husband insisted. For some reason our waiter asked us if he could take the order of another couple who had arrived after us. I should have questioned that, but I was surprised so I said that was okay. He eventually got around to taking our order. The other couple got their order promptly and were halfway through their meal when I flagged him down and asked if our order was coming. He said it was taking so long because of the kitchen and said there was a large party upstairs whose order was put in before ours. I told him that if they weren't able to prepare our dinner we could settle our drink tab and dine elsewhere. After that our dinner arrived immediately. When he brought our food I explained that I was unhappy because we had let a couple order ahead of us unaware how much longer we would have to wait. As I was talking to him he just walked away from me. The waiter asked if we wanted dessert. When we said no he asked me if I was angry. You would think that it would be pretty touristy and you'd be right but their French food was pretty good! Most people make the mistake of ordering steak or lobster here. I love their onion soup. It's very filling. They don't want you to just order soup though. They want you to order a starter and then a dinner plate. We had to argue with the server for a minute to allow us to just get the soup. No idea how anyone can eat more than that. Otherwise, service ok. They did let us just have soup in the end. We came here for dinner one evening, even though we read mixed reviews, we gave it a chance. The maître d' was rather curt and not very pleasant, but the rest of the staff were decent. Definitely a hopping restaurant, as they're on the Champs-Élysées and crowded, but their food was still executed quite nicely. Their shrimp cocktail was small and the sauce was too mayonnaisey, so it wasn't very nice. We tend to stay away from touristy places like this due to the service, food quality, etc and this place pretty much reminded us to leave these places to the typical tourist. read more

When you are at champs Élysées it's not only for shopping, there is a few nice and good restaurant. This restais has inside and outside seating. The service is impeccable, the servers are helpful describing the menu, to make sure you make the good choice. The food was delicious. Here's a lesson to look at reviews before sitting down. Walking down the Champs one night looking for a place to eat. Place was hopping, looked nice and the menu seemed decent so we went in. Seated quickly and then that's where it went downhill. Took forever for the waiter to come and acknowledge us and bring menus. Even then there was zero interaction or personality from him or anyone else. Got our order in and sat back. I don't recall the last time I was in a half decent restaurant where the waiter does the bussing, bringing the food etc with no help. Clearly not a great business model - one decent to maximize profit at the expense of quality experience. When the food came my kids had both ordered the steak frites med rare and one was quite under so after another eternity we finally got his attention and explained what was wrong. He almost started to argue but then took it away. By the time the replacement came ( it was cooked perfectly) we were almost finished. I had ordered the French chicken dish, for something sitting in a broth it was quite dry . At no time did anyone come by to ask how everything was or to ask if we needed anything. Isn't that pretty standard. Another warning sign. Eventually we flagged him down to get our bill to get out. Surprising it wasn't brought out right away as they clearly work at lightning speed to clear the table once someone left so they could turn it over. Bottom line, this place relies on people like myself. Forgot to look at reviews and likely won't be in Paris again or at least not for many years. There is a five guys a couple of doors down. Very disappointing experience in Paris. As this spot is right on the champs, we were expecting it to be pricey, but this place was definitely not worth it. A couple of things that threw us off: they gave us bread and we asked for butter. They asked how many, we said 3. When the bill came, we saw they charged us 1.50 euro PER BUTTER! And it was those small pats of butter wrapped in foil. That felt super scammy to us. Another thing we noticed is that they re-use bread. We didn't finish all the bread at our table and as we were leaving, we saw them put our un-eaten bread back into the basket for future use. That's just nasty, not sure if that is a common practice in Europe... but that rubbed us the wrong way too. There seems to be an assumption that any Bistro right on the Champs Elysées will be touristy and rude towards foreigners. We didn't find this to the case at all at L'Alsace. We were treated respectfully by everyone we encountered, and the food was as good as anywhere else in the city. The restaurant is a bit more spacious than most Bistros, so we didn't feel like we were sitting right on top of other patrons. It has that classic look one hopes for in a Paris Bistro. It's also clean, open, bright, and well run. As shown in one of my pictures, they have a very nice fresh seafood selection that you don't find at most places (so much for being touristy). We didn't try to the cocktails but there were some interesting options. Wine by the glass options were plentiful and very reasonably priced. As we did at just about every restaurant in Paris, we started with the Onion Soup. One look at the picture will tell you just how good it was! My wife had the Foie Gras as her entree (something she also tried at just about every place we ate), and loved it. I had the Flammekueche (essentially a flatbread pizza) with Raclette, Bacon, and Potatoes. So good! The crust was cracker thin, with crispy edges and a chewy interior; what every U.S. bar pizza should be but never is! When you get tired of shopping, this is the place to stop. read more

So our second day in Paris and we had to try something on Champs de 'Elysees. L'Alsace was recommended to us. The restaurant was very nice and the staff were very kind. The food however, was less the average. My son and I had the ribeye which coming from the US, was underwhelming. It was my wife's order of the lobster that was really disappointing. The lobster had been burned just enough to blacken the meat in the edges of the tail. Except for the lobster claws, the meal was inedible. All three meals were accompanied by a side of bernaise (sp?) sauce. I wish I could say the sauce was good but it wasn't. Our desserts were better. My wife the strudel and really liked it. I had the strawberry pastry which was tasty. My son had pistachio ice cream and ate every bite. What made the meal worse was the price. Yes, we are on the Champs de Elysees so paying a premium was expected. But with that high price, the food should be much better. This place had a horrible rating and it is mostly because of the service not the food. They were all 100% accurate as we had to flag down and go to the front desk to get some attention. We were very desperate as Christmas Eve is difficult to find a restaurant that wasn't busy as well as staying away from the Yellow Jacketed (vest) rioters that were causing a lot of problems and scaring everyone. The food here was excellent, service was a joke. The funniest thing was at the end after waiting 30 minutes for our check. The server asked for a tip before handing me the mobile point-of-sale machine. Had to scoff at that. On the way out I was looking for a manager to ask why this place had such a horrible reputation for service? This isn't the Paris one would expect to see with those high prices.
