This time Annie for some reason reluctantly did my acrylic fill (even though I had an appointment and still had to wait 40 minutes!) She was angry! Pushing my hands away at times and causing pain by bending and twisting my fingers! until it became unbearable that I had to pull my hand away... You try to strike up a conversation and they completely misunderstand you! Their English and communication skills need a lot of work.. Everyone wants a good experience but you have to question yourself that every time you come out of their salon you feel awful! They do a good job of making you feel that they don't need your custom as they have plenty of other clients... REMEMBER THE HIGHER YOU ARE THE HARDER YOU FALL!!! I honestly love L'Amour Nail spa because they're so helpful with working around your schedule. Easy to make appointments when you know exactly what you're looking for especially when I want to book sets with designs. When I come it's always such a great environment especially with the girls at the front desk being super sweet and helpful. You might have to wait sometimes to be see even if you have an appointment but that's what should be expected when you're at a good salon. read more

Based on my experience my nail technician had no prior experience doing nails, I had to tell her that she had missed spots, tell her to clean around my nails with a brush and not her finger tip. She filed my nails to a point where I'm in pain. She messed up my gel manicure and she had to remove the first layer and reapply. Just a horrible experience. Instead of using cotton to clean, she used a small piece of paper and kept applying oil thinking it will fix the issues. There was another technician seating on the other side who had her fingers in her nose, cleaning and taking things out and as soon as a customer came in she ran to the customer without washing her hands. I got a regular manicure on natural nails. They looked good when I left but now that i've taken the nail polish off, I see that I basically paid someone to ruin my nails. I hope you can all see how clearly my nails are scratched and damaged now. Some of my nails are splitting and there are thin spots from the extensive buffing. I think the technician mistakenly used the wrong side of the buffer and I did not notice. I do not reccomend this salon. Ive posted photos right after taking off the polish and after applying a ton of oil and lotion to rehydrate. So dissapointed. read more

I had a polish change and a pedi it took over 2.5 hours start to finish idk if this lady was pilled out or what but she poured acetone all over my hands and feet to the point it went up my sweater and all over my bracelets . She didn't wash anything off either during my pedi just layering chemical after chemical I asked her to put a white base under my color and she said no she would put 4 coats of color I had to tell her I did not like it in order for her to do so. I have polish all over my fingers that I've been picking off in my car and I feel like I need to shower from everything she left on my legs and I'm not talking about the lotion . I came here for awhile but had to stop going because of how rude, aggressive, and careless Annie is. She was my go to girl, but the last few times I went really ruined it. She would always make my cuticles bleed, at first I thought maybe it was just normal to have that happen. She would always file my nails way too narrow from the nail bed, so that when they would begin to grow out, they'd be growing around the polish. For some reason she often wanted to make my nails cat claws (extremely sharp, pointed tips when I would ask for oval or rounded) and would ignore me or say "not now, LATER." if I asked her to round them more. If my hands weren't positioned correctly she would aggressively move and twist my hands. She has burned me multiple times with her drill then would get mad at me when I would jump or be startled, because it hurt! She told me "SIT. STILL." "Stop your moving!" And would jerk my hands... a few times I had asked her to change out a nail, that was grown out and you could see my natural nail underneath (it was almost just as long as the fake nail) she told me, "nope" on multiple occasions because she said it looks fine. I cannot believe the behavior that this shop allows from her. For the price and the lousy work she does, not worth it. Go somewhere else and spend your money, at least to people who respect you. read more

Nancy did a great job removing the acrylics (soaked), trimming my nails, and overall listening to my suggestions. I LOVE this place! I've been coming here for at least 5 years and their prices are comparable to other salons in the area. One advantage they do have over the other salons is the quality of their work. It's AMAZING and they go above and beyond to make their customers happy whether you're getting something simple or an intricate design. I wanted to give this place a fair chance. I've been here about 5 times now and 1/5 have been alright. Every time I kept going for some reason it kept getting worse. 1. If the gel x has completely dried why would you rip it off the nail after because you don't like how it was glued?? It ruined my actual nail and it hurt SO BAD. They responded with a laugh and "sorry." 2. If you are unable to do designs... just say you can't. If a design is too difficult, speak up. But instead they'll do a design they're unable (even though I asked while making the appointment if they had someone who knew how to do designs) and gaslight you that it's exactly like the photo you showed them. Even though you told them verbatim it isn't what the photo is. Then when you call back they'll say "why didn't you just say it was bad." Oh we tried. But after sitting in a chair for 2 hours redoing the whole thing and arguing to say it's not correct is just not worth the time. (Don't trust the photos posted by the shop, there's probably only 1 person if that, who can do designs and they'll say others can just to get a customer in) 3. On the note of being unprofessional (gaslighting) I had a hair under my polish that was visible from the nail polish brush and they had the audacity to say there's nothing there (I repeated there was a hair twice but they didn't care). 4. They will cut your cuticles so much they will burn the following day and days followed, along with inflammation. I could not wear closed shoes. 5. No im not "sensitive" you're simply cutting my actual skin and ripping my actual nail. I'm sure there's a couple talented nail techs here. Unfortunately I couldn't find them. read more

This salon is my favorite salon. I've been going here for over 5 years ever since I moved to Tujunga. I have been trying to find a nail salon that I like because there are a lot of mom and pops around here but this one makes me the most comfortable. It's close to home and work. Yeah you can't just walk in and expect to be seated but I always make an appointment. I usually call a week before and they're able to give me a time that works with my schedule. This place is okay but they are terrible at honoring your appointment time. They constantly overbook and you wait 30-45 minutes past the time you're supposed to be taken for your appointment. I've seen 5-7 people all come in claiming they have an appointment at the same time and if you don't have enough technicians available and free at that time that just seems silly and they should just be honest. Technique is okay. I've mostly gotten pedis here but nothing super great to rave about. read more

I'm not too happy with the nail techs at this salon. Yes they have a variety of gel colors; however, every time I go get my nails done here I'm not too happy with the nail technicians. Kim does a good job with the filing and polish, but she has hurt my big toe every time she has done my pedicure. It's completely red on the sides and it hurts so bad and I got it done yesterday. My gel is so thick and looks really awkward. the nail tech said don't worry I know what I'm doing! And on she goes with 4 coats for gel polish. Wouldn't recommend to anyone who wants nail technicians that are sterile and know what they are doing. read more

In response to owner comment- I have never been asked if they need to know to use water or not for a kids Mani pedi. Only if they want the cuticles cut. I did express I wanted water and everything else besides the cuticle cutting but I understand miscommunication happens. Maybe add an Express kids Mani/pedi to the menu. I called last Friday around 530 and they said they could take a walk in kids Mani/Pedi and a regular pedicure, so my 7 year old daughter and I went in about 20 mins later. The salon is very nice and very clean. They were busy but not as busy as I expected for a Friday. The receptionist (who was super nice) asked me something about a full manicure for my daughter, I was confused and she said basically if they should use water or not. I said well, her nails are very short so filing over cutting and please don't cut cuticles but besides that yes, a regular manicure pedicure. My daughter was almost done by the time my pedicure got started and we had been talking so I wasn't paying too much attention. Although her feet were washed/soaked, her hands weren't. It was straight polish remover, very quick file and straight to polish. I assumed the same woman had to do my pedicure and maybe that's why, but no. She moved on to another customer while Yvonne did my pedicure, which was fabulous! She spent more time perfecting the nail polish than anyone else ever has, it was honestly spotless. I paid $38 which was about 4 bucks cheaper than what it should have been. I should have asked the breakdown but didn't as my daughter was in such a rush to leave. As soon as we got to the car she broke down crying saying she never wanted to go there again, she didn't get any lotion or massage etc. Now, I know she's a kid, but we do mom and daughter mini spa stuff all the time so she is quite the veteran of nail salons. She can paint her nails herself any day, she most looks forward to the "spa" aspect of a mani/Pedi. She's never been upset after a nail trip. I'm not sure if this is how they do their kid services- no lotion, massage, hand washing, basically everything you'd do in a regular mani/pedi or maybe what I said confused them, I'm not really sure. I personally think a kids Mani/pedi should be just like an adults just on smaller hands and feet. So, if you're looking to do something like this with your daughter I recommend Melody's Nails which we both love. If it's for you, go for it, but ask for Yvonne. read more

I had a terrible experience with my first visit which will be the last for sure. I had an appointment for manicure and pedicure and after 20 min wait time, someone started on my pedicure. She did an ok job until she applied the nail polish. The OPI color was too old and should've been tossed away. Oh wait they don't do that cuz they charge extra $3 to apply the newer colors :/ The woman who did my manicure was a total disaster. She was rushing and she had hard time applying the color. She messed up one of my fingers polish 4 times. She also messed up my pedicure while it was drying. She was all over the place and she sucked. I had to remove the color right after I got home.
