3rd time purchasing fixtures for DIY fixes. I am not a plumber or tradesman, just a every so often DIY warrior who Google's how to videos to repair or replace broken / damaged things around my house or family members homes. I walked in during the week to get what I needed to cap off a copper main water line. Jose assisted me. I confessed to him that I didn't know what I was doing, after all the other customers (contractors) stopped laughing, Jose told me what parts I needed and was patient with me. I returned the following day to purchase PVC and was assisted by a fellow KNAC Pure Rock listener from back in the day. Also received outstanding service. Wonderful and amazing! It took me a few minutes to find the parking lot as there was road construction; it is at the back of the building and looked a little strange to me. However, a wonderful welcoming man came out to guide me in and get me started. Being a single woman who does things for herself when she is able can be a little intimidating when walking into a predominantly male business. Very unhappy with my experience here. I brought in a simple part-a tub spout that I needed to replace and the guy behind the counter-they get your things for you for some reason- did not speak English. I handed him the old spout and said I need a new one that would work. He handed me something that looked like my spout on the outside but it did NOT have the connections on the inside so it was unusable in that state. And I told him this. To which he did not respond. A "plumber" in line told me I would have to go to a hardware store to buy an adapter that this place must not have them. The guys behind stared off in to space & said nothing helpful at all. I do not think they knew what was going on. Shouldn't a specialized plumbing store KNOW exactly what would work & not try and sell me something incorrect or incomplete??????? AND shouldn't said plumbing store HAVE a plumbing fixture & adapters in stock in the first place, and shouldn't they have workers that speak the local language so we could have conversed on the subject???? Anyhoo as I already tried lowe's and home depot I was desperate so I gave it a go. I bought the part and drove to the hardware store the stranger told me to. The guy at the hardware shop laughed and said the part SHOULD be included with the spout and he had nothing that would help. I agreed as it simply made sense. I drove back to the first Home Depot I went to and flagged down help telling them I had been all over town trying to find a simple tub spout-even a "plumbing specialty store" and could find nothing that would work. I showed him the part and he opened a few packages and found one that would work just fine. Very disappointed in this shop. I went to you as you are supposed to be experts. You were supposed to stop me from running around store to store and you made a simple issue even worse by making me do 3 additional stops! A tub spout is not rocket science and NOTHING was modified on my existing spout as a simple universal Danco brand spout worked. You should have had that on hand and your worker should KNOW the inventory. There is no excuse when I literally handed the guy the exact part. read more

Had a water heater that supposedly needed to be replaced (there's a long story that I could tell but I will spare you the grief) so I wanted to buy a replacement from an actual plumbing supply store rather than relying on Home Depot or Lowe's since my experience has been better buying what the pros use instead of saving a couple of bucks in the short run. The water heaters from these supply stores just seem to last longer but that's just my experience. I've used the local store in Gardena in the past but my current plumber recommended these guys because their prices were much more reasonable. I was able to get a quality heater for $601 out the door (probably because he has a good rapport with this business). I had to wait while he joked around with the workers but it's a small price to pay in order to get a deal. The staff here was very helpful and it seems like they have an extensive selection of supplies to choose from. Finding this place has been a revelation. The "other place" in Gardena is good for finding older parts for older fixtures but "R" in Gardena isn't known for its prices or it would seem recently, its customer service. 25% restocking fee even if people cancel an order that never was picked up? No thanks. I WILL STICK WITH THESE GUYS now that I know they're here. Thanks Gilbert for letting me know about this business. If you want an obscure plumbing fitting, this is the place to go. They have everything you can imagine. If you're not a plumber though, you'll have to pay cash. They have a minimum charge of $15, so if you buy a $5 fitting, you'll be charged $10 for "handling". Don't worry though, the cashier lady will scrub off the handling fee for you. In any case, the guy I dealt with behind the counter was not very helpful, so be prepared to know EXACTLY what you want. 2 stars for the fact you can get anything you need here. -3 starts for poor customer service (unless you're a plumber). It looks closed, but drive down the side road (Plaza Del Amo) and make a left through the open fence, then park about 100 feet down the alley. Walk in to the open door and you'll see a handful of stools. Sit down on one and you'll eventually get helped. read more

Im a DIY homeowner and needed two 40 ft sections of 1" type K copper pipe for the water feed line on my 1953 fixer home. This place is old school but they seemed to have everything and were very friendly. Spoke with Jose in the back and he was very helpful with questions. Even tho I was only spending a couple hundred bucks they offered to deliver the pipe to my house (otherwise we had no way of getting it there), what a pleasant surprise. They had the correct parts I needed. I bought the parts and didn't need all of them. However, when my wife went to return one of the parts, they charged her unnecessarily, straight up lying about what they had sold me. In other words, they short-changed her and ultimately refunded her a smaller amount. They took advantage of her lack of knowledge and made a couple of dollars in the process. Good job saving yourselves $4 by lying. I give 2 stars because they had the parts, but were extremely dishonest. We will not use their business again. read more

I needed a special type of water heater replacement (power vent). I was besides myself with solving this problem because either the plumbers did not have experience with them, we could not agree to an action plan, or the price quotes just kept getting higher and higher and higher. I was losing sleep over this one already. Then a friend of mine suggested I try a plumbing supply house. I found this one through wonderful Yelp. The people were sooooooooooo amazingly helpful and friendly. They even recommended a plumber to me who quoted me an off-hand reasonable price to do the job. The water heater i needed seemed to be priced at a very fair price, too. And they will deliver...... it for free!!! So, so far I am ecstatic that in about 4 1/2 minutes this store helped me come to a very viable and reasonably costing solution, when it was taking me 'weeks' to pull this off otherwise. This pipe company is the best. I recently bought a bidet toilet seat from a well known manufacturer that had a major leak at the t-coupling water supply after I installed it. I tried teflon tape as well as heavily tightening the nut to no avail. I removed the t-fitting and took it to L & B where they immediately helped me solve the the problem by placing a cone shaped washer inside the fitting and removing the thin problematic washer that came with the bidet. I re-installed the t-fitting and was amazed that the leak was gone. Not one drop of water leaked out after the correct washer was installed. Thanks Again! read more
