I prefer Lowes over Home Depot. Lowes stores are cleaner and the parking lot is less chaotic. I have recently written how Lowes offers a no paper receipt option at checkout. This reduces trash and saves them money that can be passed on to the customer. However, HD sells small hickory wood logs to use in a smoker. Lowes only sells chunks. I dragged the 30 lbs. of wood to the register and went through the payment process. When I asked if there was a no receipt option, the person working there said, don't worry, it will give you one." I proceeded to throw it away in the trash can as I left. There is no need in most cases to produce a paper receipt. I have an account with HD, give me the electronic option there. read more

This review is about the garden center only. I went there yesterday (5/31 at around 1:00pm)to buy some flowers. When I went to check out there were 2 checkers one young and one older. After the older one finished checking out a gentleman in front of us she proceeded to chat with this guy and ignore us for so long that I moved my cart to the younger staff member so I could pay. If I was not with my wife I would have found a manager to report this employee. She knew I was standing there to be helped but totally ignored us. Needless to say I will be going to Lowe's for plants from now on so I don't have to deal with this ridiculous behavior. I will say that I have not had issues with staff inside the store and they usually helpful. read more

The pro line always take forever it seems like it's not even a priority for the PA or the PASA's I've waiting for over 30 min already to get helped there is only one PA and is taking his time with one costumer and instead of calling for back up and having us wait he just stares back my account spends over $600k a year you would think they would try harder to please one . Home Depot went to shit a while ago. Expensive but worse staff knows nothing. No experience, no training. You ask them a question and they look like a deer in headlights. Today I asked a woman in flooring if there was staff to answer a question for a self improvement job. She wanted to know my question so I asked... and yep she was dumb founded and said my guys won't help you but they will install it for you. Wtf is wrong with people's brains?! How can you hire people who are of no help? You'd be better off not hiring at all. So many employees standing around chatting with each other. Lowe's at least have staff that try to help. I like this HD for shopping. I don't normally interact with employees at stores so I can't say anything on that. This store is nice and open , it's clean too. I've always found things that the things I am in need of seem to be in stock. I don't like that there are only self check out kiosks but they are manned by employees. Alert! I bought a Maytag washing machine at this Home Depot. They used a delivery contractor that had the most incompetent drivers. I was told I needed new faucet valves and I would need a plumber to do it. But as a favor they would do it for $180 but do not tell anyone. I gave them $200. They didn't do a test drive. After they left I did a wash and both the faucets leaked water. I called for my brother and he tightened the faucet valves. He said they forgot to do it. I texted the driver and he said he would be right back. The driver's partner wanted to take the new valves off and I refused to let him. He got intimidating so I told my brother to get my phone to call the police. I told them to give me my $200 back and to get off my property. They left and I closed my garage door. read more

I took me 4 calls to ask for some paint, the first representative didn't let me finish and I got disconnected, the second call Maria answered and put me on hold and somehow we got disconnected and she called me back and told me what she got. I ended up getting transferred to the paint department and that is why I gave 2 a stars only. After that the paint department disconnected me too. I continue calling Home Depot and no one answered after that at all. After locking myself out of my home this am, I paid $50.00 for our maintenance man to come and open my door. I was bothered at the charge, so that's where Home Depot came in and saved me any future charges. I never knew they had a key making machine within Home Depot. This is in regards to an on-line order. I ordered a decent sized item hoping to save me from getting help to get it out of car and just have it delivered to home. When I ordered it said next day delivery (they use Ontrac for warehouse orders) and I was here the whole day. Finally checked at 1pm and they attempted to deliver at 11:11am. No one ever knocked or anything. Said business was closed....Im a residential customer not a business. I call and apparently they (OnTrac) went to wrong address. So now I have to stay home another day and wait. I asked if they would re-attempt and HD Cust Svcs said OnTrac would try tomorrow. Kind of sucks when they don't use the more traditional shipping companies like UPS, FedEx, USPS, or even DHL. Its was free but still. The worst experience. No communication. Took over three month and I had to call to schedule install. Not the doors I ordered, not the doorframe. Home Depot did a previous install of one door. The came out to measure the additional four doors. I told them I wanted the same. The door was white, the doors they installed are cream and all banged up, one with a huge gouge in it. At which point Trisha told him they couldn't let him only pay .01 cent because that was incorrect. I just bought a Christmas tree and a stand here today from this Home Depot. I got all the way home cut the strings off to take the Christmas tree off my car and got it in the house. Last year it took all of 10 minutes to put this tree together with the stand. This year my tree is layed out flat on the floor. I have been hassling with this tree for about 40 minutes. I have used my old stand and my new stand to see if I'm tripping. The tree was not cut properly. The stomp is too long. They said they cut it but it wasn't cut enough. I just spoke with a Miguel and after explaining the situation he's going to say we will take off something on the stand. Ummm sir I don't have the string anymore because I cut it up so I can't bring it back. This is a total inconvenience and I will never shop at Home Depot for a Christmas tree. read more

Friday Night 9.15.23 Awful service here at 7:00p. Lowes unfortunately could not duplicate a key and their response there is quick. Home Depot in Torrance sucks! Apparently, Angel the manager took a dinner break and has not been able to get back according to the cash register personnel, Alyssa. Then, After 10-15 mins of waiting, I came back to ask Alyssa and her other associates Ruth said, "we can't find anyone to work at Home Depot." she's talking to me like I am HR of home depot. I am a patron and that's all. No apologies from their staff especially Alyssa and absolutely look like they have no clue on what to do. Another customer was complaining as well due to center block needed and he was also upset and mentioned this happens alot at the location. That is totally unacceptable on any given day with such a place that is completely busy but as you can see the aisles are empty and no employees around. David arrived 30 minutes later and apparently on break too. Wow everyone here took a break today! Management is slacking. So take your time here and make sure you don't need "service " as it lacks. Overall store is good. Customer service is OK. What is annoying is when you're shopping. There's nice music in the store, but when you get to the checkout, it becomes a battle of the radios and then it just becomes a bunch of noise. It seems like the cashiers have a different standard. This is a pretty good store to find just about anything you need to fix up your home, garden, fencing, etc. Just about anything!! :) However, they got rid of their cashier check outs and now only have self serve check out stations!! Have come here since I was a baby with the family for our Christmas trees- now at 35 years old I haven't strayed. Showed up Sunday evening 30 minutes before closing and you know damn well that's probably your least favorite customer in the moment, but I'm a very busy woman and I haven't got all day! While on the hunt for the perfect tree I immediately had a worker approach me with a benevolent smile asking if I needed help. This man not only helped by opening each tree I requested... he ended up finding me the most brilliant tree I have ever laid eyes on. Full and lush, no blemishes or patches without branches, green and pristine. (No seriously, this tree belongs in a museum but I supposed my apartment will have to suffice). When making home improvements, this home depot has always been my go-to place to buy supplies. This Home Depot sits in the Torrance Crossroads, not far from either Redondo or the hill. There is plenty of parking in this huge shopping center, so that is never an issue no matter what day and time you come here. This Home Depot is honestly one of the better run stores of their kind. Their inventory is plentiful, and even for a picky person like myself, I can find exactly what I am looking for. The staff here is friendly and attentive. They know their stuff, even it's not common that I consult them. I usually come here already knowing exactly what I'm going to get. Checkout is usually no problem. Robert was a big help getting me what I needed. I usually come here to grab a pallet of Portland concrete a couple times a month and they're always on top of everything to make sure they get it to me on time.
