Lowe's seem to have much more of a selection than Home Depot of the various items needed for home improvement and gardening. The staff is much more equipped to handle circumstances and direct customers to where they need to find certain items. The value is great. You can find great bargains at this place. Quick to walk in after getting the text code, headed to the lockers; in and out within about 1 minute. Bolts were $1 Parking was easy as I go at night to pickup normally. i only went to Garden Dept. I went on a Sunday, at around 5pm. First of all, couldn't find anybody to help me, as there is only the cashier, who is clueless. Secondly, I asked for a cart, and there were none available, have to walk through the hardware, etc, just to get a cart...and this is hard because of my bum knee. I asked the cashier to call somebody to bring carts (which are normally ouside the Garden Area), but she said she intercommed 3 times and was ignored. Thirdly, I bought several items, and wanted to know the number of days that the item/s may be returned, because even with the receipt, they have different return dates. I asked 3 different employees, and was answered with "I believe...." Finally, had to ask for a manager, and after some wait, got the correct answer. Arent the employees properly trained to answer inquiries like this?? Lastly, I asked for someone to help me carry a 3 cu.ft bag of garden soil, just to put in my car, as I am in my 70's...there were also no plastic bags to line the car trunk (which they usually have so as not to dirty the car trunk) and the cashier had to give me trash bags (which, of course, were inefficient). Anyways, after several calls, and cashier informed that everyone was busy..I got an employee to help me after maybe 15 minutes wait. read more

Their service is good with straight up personnel and their commitment to customer satisfaction is extraordinary. This includes shaking our old paint buckets and a great discount when our jacuzzi tub came late many years ago! Their prices are very competitive and other services like key duplication and other offerings of household goods found in grocery store chains. I particularly like their discounted plants & flowers in their nursery where I've purchased and nurtured many greatly discounted, wilting plants & flowers. This is the worst service I have ever delt with in my entire life!!! I made an order from my account on line but for some reason the website sent my order to a store that is over an hour away and on the other side of Los Angeles!!! I was originally put on hold for a half hour. During that time I tried to get help through MYLOWS but the person there could not help me but he felt sorry for me and found another phone number to call. The person that answered asked me to yell into the phone. I had to call back and the next person put me on hold again for another 20 minute. She finally cancelled my order for me. This nonsense took 3 hours out of my day. I do not have that much time to waist!!!!!!!! The children they hired there need to grow up or get fired. Not sure why Lowe's is so incompetent of a job or delivery throughly 100. If it's not one thing it's ALWAYS another whether we use their Pro Service for construction service or just a regular household project. We use their Pro Service a lot for orders and deliveries for new constructions with lumber or huge items delivery. I usually don't write reviews for hardware stores, but the team at Lowe's in Torrance on Western really deserves the recognition. Every time I've walked into this store, someone has asked if I needed help--no awkward eye contact and walking away like I've experienced at the other home improvement store. The difference in service is apparent. Huge thanks to Andrew, Osmin, Kassandra and Angela ( i believe the store manager) --they were amazing from start to finish during my bathroom renovation. I was working with a tight schedule, and they helped me get everything I needed: bathtub, tiles, faucets, vanity--you name it. Even when there were shipping delays (out of their control), they kept me updated and suggested great alternatives to keep things moving. This kind of customer service is rare, especially in big-box stores. I'll definitely keep coming back to this location--it's clear they care about their customers. read more

I went to this Lowe's and needed to get a nut and bolt for a project I was doing. I also needed some drill bits for metal. Kirk saw me and asked if he could help. I told Him what I needed and he knew exactly where everything was. Found the nut and bolts then he walked me over to the drill bits and explained and knew everything. Darryl in paint dept seems to be the only employee that's cares about customer service. When we needed help in the bathroom dept. the wait was 10 mins we almost waked out. We walked down rows to find help to find Christmas tress holders nobody around. I went to return dept. waited until the lady looked up or somebody else finally came out of back room. As usual, Lowe's customer service is non-existent. I only come here if I know exactly what I am buying since it's the most convenient location for me. Picked up some plant food; the gentleman ahead of me at the checkout needed help finding rooting hormone. All three Lowe's employees did not know what it was and just said they don't carry it. My mom and I went in yesterday to pick up a few items. While there were ran into a friend that we hadn't seen in years. Neither of us had carts, but had hands full. One of the people that worked there -( her name tag said AB , but she told us it was Abigail )was walking by and saw us and asked if she could help us. She offered to take some of our items to the register for us but once we said we were going in opposite directions, she offered to get a cart.. She had picked up an item our friend had dropped then went to get the cart. She brought 2 carts for us! I feel like she went over and above and I really appreciate her thoughtfulness. I asked an employee, an older guy with a ponytail working in electrical, for help finding a power outlet hub, he acted like I was bothering him and kept asking me why I needed it. He then told me the aisle to find it and I said I had already checked there and couldn't find it, but he kept asking if I was sure I checked there. I will NEVER EVER purchase ANYTHING through Lowe's again and I suggest everyone who reads this comment follow suit. I have had the WORST nightmare of an experience dealing with their installation and customer support team. Not only did their installation person not show up to the confirmed installation appointment because he said he was at "work" , but Handy spent hours trying to reschedule me with someone new and half a day later still couldn't get me scheduled for a new installation appointment. The installation pro never reached out to me to tell me he wasn't going to make it. My appointment was at 7 am, and I had to reach out to him around 7:40 to see what was happening only for him to tell me he is "at work" and will need to reschedule the installation. Lowe's customer support team was rude (especially Pam in IST) and didn't offer anything for the fact that I had to cancel my camping weekend due to their unreliable staff and inability to honor their appointments, refused to refund my money or let me speak to a manager. Pam had a terrible attitude the second she answered the phone and kept defending the installation worker who no showed the appointment and told me maybe someone would call me back to reschedule the appointment but she wouldn't guarantee me anything. Said I am not allowed to speak to a manager as "that's not how it works here". I have already waited weeks for this installation to pick the perfect date and time that would work for me and they flake and Lowe's customer support won't lift a finger to do anything to try and make it right. I've already paid for the installation service that never happened, mind you. Worst company and worst customer service EVER!!!!! Will never shop at Lowe's again. read more

I had excellent service from Norma. I needed to replace my washing machine hose and told her the problems I was experiencing with leaking and overflow. She was great with information and walked me straight to all the items I needed. She recommended to use a lint trap and clamp to keep the hose in place. I was impressed of how knowledgeable she is and exactly where to find each item. Horrible customer service. JEANETTE was rude and disrespectful. I was in the middle of asking her a question about an item to see if she knew when the store was getting a shipment of the color I was looking for when she cut me off mid sentence and had a man show me where the item was when I had already found them just not in the color I had wanted. She clearly needs training with her customer service skills, clearly she wasn't taught common sense and how to be respectful to others and letting people finish a sentence before interrupting them. One of the friendliest Lowes around. Today I was looking for a certain kind and color spray paint and when I ask the man behind the counter said no problem let me get that for you! Simple right, what's the big deal he did his job right? Here's the difference, earlier I was at Home Depot and I requested the same thing and as two employees were having a conversation behind the counter and I asked, can I please get some spray paint and I was then told it's open. Awesome, but when going back as there was only 2 there and online said there were 11, so long story short, I was bounced around to 4 different employees and still no one willing to get me the paint at Home Depot in Torrance. However ! Samuel in the paint dept. at Lowes Torrance helped me find what I needed and was very informative with my questions. I later forgot that I needed a good primer and Henry was also very friendly and got me what I needed and again lots of info on the type of primer he recommended to use on a special HDU foam I was using. Then there was AQuilia, this girl is AWESOME, so very friendly and helpful at check out. Her outgoing happy personality inspired me to write this review. I felt like I was welcomed and the staff was there to help me. Not like Home Depot where I felt I was bothering them and disrupting their conversations and not welcomed. I used to Love Torrance Lowes, Not Anymore. I tried to buy a Circular saw, but they where to Difficult. I go to the power tools, tell the man this is the one I want. He says OK get it out of the lock up gets the battery and proceeds to walk away and I'm like a just put it in my cart ? Will bring it up to the front for you he said. So I go up to the front and they spent 10 minutes trying to find out where the saw was they said it's in the back. So I went to the back they said it's in the front. so I went to Customer Service and they didn't have it. The little girl said just a minute. I'll find out what's going on. She walked away after five minutes. I just walked out. why can't you just put the tool in my cart? I promise I'm not gonna steal it. You need to change your policy. You're horrible horrible. I like to shop at Lowe's because it's easier to get to than Home Depot. This store has numerous 1 star ratings and I understand why. However, I wanted to share my experience. I went there a few days ago to look at appliances. I was helped by Norma Gonzalez. She was professional, patient and gave very thoughtful input. I picked out a stove, refrigerator and microwave. I told her I'd be back the next day, but I didn't make it. I went in today and I see why so many 1 stars were given. There's something about the attitudes of the employees. Not eager to help at all. I wish I lived closer to this Lowe's. Not only are the employees here kind they're super helpful and knowledgeable. Unlike the Home Depot in San Pedro. It was so easy to find someone to help. I needed a few random things including a panel of wood cut to make tables for my daughters birthday. Jorge was able to help me match the wood and get it cut in less than 15 min! Super helpful!! Manny was awesome and cut the wood perfectly. Karen told me exactly where to find zip ties and with a smile. Then she needed up assuring us with checking out. It's all self checkout but she was nice enough to ring us up herself. This place is the best by far. Amazing employees and so well kept too!! Keep it up Lowe's Team!! read more

Lowe's sent me all over Los Angeles to process returns today because they didn't want to accept a returned appliance that was purchased at a different store. In traffic this cost me half a day of billable time to solve domestic problems. #lowes #fail #badservice assistant manager Margo seen here did especially NOTHING to help, and seemed to take pleasure in saying no, sending us from Torrance to Mid City with a dishwasher and stove to return to the store where it was purchased. [UPDATE1: Review #100] 2019 Yelp 100 Challenge (12/100) Last weekend we went to Lowe's Home Improvement to look for a gas range because my oven (after almost 17 years) conked out. =( It's been quasi-functional since last summer & I got tired of paying for a higher gas bill because of this... so here we are. I had given my husband my list of requirements & sent him several links (he's the shopper in our family for the big purchases whereas I'm the bargain hunter for everything else). He showed me only 1 model -- Samsung Gas Range -- that either met or exceeded my needs. This range also comes with a griddle, & has both a simmer & power burner. Do I need a simmer? I don't know, only time will tell. I wandered to look at higher end models as well as competitor ranges. Mid-browsing, a female appliance customer rep approached my husband, & he said: "My wife might have some questions." He later told me that she didn't seem as knowledgeable & got Liz to help instead. Liz walked over to me & asked if I needed help. I inquired about convection capabilities, price & benefits difference between 2 models that I narrowed down to that appeared to be similar in functionality, customer preference amongst the various brands, etc. Liz had a training tag, which was surprising because I felt she was pretty knowledgeable (come on, you can't expect her to know everything about all the appliances) & thorough in her explanations. We were definitely getting a range, but I needed some time to compare the features so Liz sent us off with a printout of the 2 models that I was debating over so I can mull over the key specs. It took me an extra 15-mins. for the comparison & it was the model that my husband picked. He knows me so well! =) He went back the next evening & ordered the Samsung gas range (that matches our microwave & dishwasher); he mentioned the $100 discount for 1st in-store purchase of $600+ (he applied for the store credit card but hasn't used it) & the sales guy gave him the discount without questions or hesitation. Now that's service! We were promised a delivery on Thursday afternoon & given a short delivery window so my husband isn't waiting for hours wondering when the delivery will arrive. Not only that, the driver gave him a heads up on his ETA & ACTUALLY ARRIVED just after his estimate (after work traffic can be unpredictable). Wow! We have had so many problems with BB on the delivery of our washer & dryer that I wished we came straight to Lowe's, but we had large gift cards that we had to spend there. :-| This time Lowe's exceeded my expectations & delivered in more ways than one. Set-up was efficient & quick, but thorough. Our guy made sure the burners & the oven worked before leaving. As soon as the installation was finished & checked, my husband sent me a snapshot of our beautiful range. :-) As soon as I came home, I did a test run on the griddle, making breakfast for dinner. I cut my cooking time by 1/3 using the griddle & clean-up was a snap. I am truly a happy camper about this purchase & customer service was fantastic!! read more
