Dear Chelsea, I…read morewanted to take a moment to sincerely thank you for everything you did for our family during such a difficult time. Your respect, professionalism, and compassion truly meant more to us than words can express. Because we do not live in town, coordinating everything through text messages, phone calls, and emails could have been overwhelming. However, you made the entire process smooth and manageable. Your responsiveness and willingness to take care of every detail eased a great deal of stress for our family. I especially want to thank you for helping calm a very challenging situation. Emotions were understandably high, and when my aunt repeatedly insisted on making announcements about her husband's funeral services scheduled for the following day, it became distressing for our family. We felt strongly that this time was meant to honor my father-in-law, and your calm, respectful assistance in helping address the situation made a meaningful difference. Your presence helped keep the focus where it belonged and restored a sense of peace and order. Additionally, when there were family members behaving rudely or out of place, you handled those moments with remarkable professionalism, kindness, and care. The way you spoke with them privately and compassionately did not go unnoticed and was deeply appreciated. Your ability to remain patient, composed, and genuinely caring throughout everything brought comfort to our family during an emotional time. We are truly grateful for your dedication and support. Thank you again for everything you did for us. Ullrey Memorial Chapel is fortunate to have someone as compassionate and professional as you. With sincere appreciation, RMAERN

I would give zero stars if possible. My husband passed unexpectedly on May 14 . Lipp and Sullivan…read morewere the funerals directors on call,so they received his body. They called me the very next morning to say they had to get someone to sign the death certificate, then probably the next week I'd have to come in and go over it. AND did I know what I wanted to do? It hadn't even been 24 hours yet, I hadn't slept the night before and his concern was what did I want to do? I told him I was thinking cremation but would not be making any decisions until I had a chance to talk to my adult children. He interrupted with "You have to have permission. " I said "What?" "You have to have permission to cremate" He then said he'd get back to me. I called a week later asking about whether he had gotten the death certificate signed. No, he said. He was still waiting. It then occurred to me he didn't have the information he'd need to put on there, and how would a doctor sign it without it being filled out? He asked again about what we wanted to do. I told him cremation. Again, "You have to have permission " Finally, I decided to call Holycross funeral home. I left a message and almost immediately got a call back. Yesterday I went in. He had already made the call to Lipp and Sullivan to take possession of my husband's body. He had all the paperwork ready for me to sign, and amazing many of my questions before I could ask. He was very irritated at Lipp and Sullivan for the way they made my family and I wait without any action at all. Losing my husband was difficult enough, and Lipp and Sullivan made it even more difficult . (NOTE: You do not need permissions to have your husband cremated) I Got the distinct impression that 1) He wanted to sell me a casket. 2) That he was old school and thought women should just go along and be meek. I'm not that way. I push back when I feel I'm right or someone is being taken advice of. I DEFINITELY would stay far away from them. It's hard enough to lose a loved one .Then to have a funeral during who shows no initiative, and no respect for you or your wishes makes it more difficult .

In some cases the legalities. My 88 year old dad wanted me to take care of this, but they needed his permission for me to do that. Helped me get all the right paper work. Communication was spot on. They helped facilitate picking the ashes up closer to where I live. No question was too much. I struggled with whether or not to have an obituary for my mom in the newspaper. They have an obituary service on their website. Perfect. I sent the link to who I thought would want it. What I didn't know was how distant family I didn't know about could do a search online and find it. Then contact me to send their condolences. I price checked a few places and they were competitive, convenient and comforting.

From our first interaction, Eugene, our funeral director, created an atmosphere of dignity and care that brought comfort when it was needed most. All services were provided with exceptional attention and sensitivity. Eugene took the time to explain each step and ensured everything was managed with grace. His kindness and empathy were evident throughout the entire process, and it was clear the staff at Lassila Funeral Chapel truly cares about the families they serve. They also included after-the-services follow-up help to provide care to the family. We are deeply appreciative of the compassion and professionalism shown to us and definitely recommend their services.
