I was looking at mortuaries, alone with an unfamiliar duty in an unfamiliar location. I finally turned to Yelp to see what was posted about mortuaries I'd looked at when David from Honor Cremations popped up to say he thought he could help me. I truly felt an instant feeling of safety and trust. Sometimes we're lucky enough to get guidance. David is kind, sympathetic and morale. I spent the next several years feeling secure for when the time came. One of the few things I was able to feel secure about. When my husband did pass in the middle of the night in the veteran hospital hospice, they knew to call Honor. Because it might take time for Honor to arrive, the hospital wanted to take my husband to their mortuary and I refused saying we would wait for Honor. I trusted them and knew he'd be in good hands and those feelings were right. The gentleman who arrived to take my husband helped the nurse prepare him so when he came out of the room he was draped in the American flag. With everything else my husband and I went through with the change in care facilities, finances, and just 'handling it all' as my husband's condition worsened over the years, David's honesty and compassion took this step off my shoulders. I have purchased Honor Cremation for myself, so our children have the confidence to know everything will be taken care of. Thank you David and Honor Cremations. When so many unexpected doors closed with years-long tragedy, you offered a safe open door.

Losing a parent is incredibly hard, but they handled everything with such a high level of dignity and grace that it truly eased some of the burden for us. Communication: From the very first call, I felt heard and supported. They were incredibly patient with all of my questions and kept me updated every step of the way, which gave me so much peace of mind. The Process: I found their approach to be very modern, transparent, and straightforward. There was never any pressure or "salesy" feeling, just genuine empathy and a focus on what my mother and our family needed. The Memorial: They helped us navigate the details for her memorial with so much respect. Everything was handled professionally, allowing us to focus on honoring her memory rather than worrying about the logistics. I am so grateful to have had their guidance during this time. If you are looking for a team that treats your loved ones with true honor and provides a seamless, compassionate experience, I cannot recommend them highly enough. I also really appreciated the honesty in their business model. I know it could technically be cheaper if they did every single thing in-house, but they intentionally use outside sources for certain steps to ensure everything is handled by specialists. I actually felt like I got more value this way because I knew I was getting the best possible care at every stage. It's also worth noting for other families that they don't have an embalming service; they focus purely on a dignified, natural process which was exactly what we wanted for my mom. I am so grateful to have had their guidance during this time. If you are looking for a team that treats your loved ones with true honor and provides a seamless, compassionate experience, I cannot recommend them highly enough. Thank you, Honor Cremation, for taking such wonderful care of my mom.

So you can imagine the state I was in when it actually happened. I've never dealt with death on this level before, more less have it be my spouse and very best friend. My sister did a lot of googling and researching to help me find a place to make arrangements. She called Diablo Valley Cremation and told me she had a really good feeling about them. We made an appt, but were actually able to come down anytime. We sat down and spoke to Bari, who was above and beyond compassionate and professional. She explained everything so gently, and it was almost as if there was nothing I had to worry about or do outside of grieving my dear husband. I knew she was the perfect fit to care for my husbands passing. She handled everything, and I mean everything. Her communication was top notch and extremely easy to get ahold of in case I had any questions or needing to talk about something. We set up a viewing before cremation, and she was at my and my families side as support throughout the entire experience. My husband looked wonderful. Although it was heartbreaking, Bari made it less horrible. We all hugged her, she made us feel comforted and safe in what we were going through. Bari has turned out to be such an invaluable and amazing partner in this tragic journey of mine. I've had to stop at the business several times to drop off cremation necklaces, my husband's urn, and pick things up. Each time I hugged and thanked her. She even got full handprints of my husband for me, not just the complimentary fingerprints. She genuinely has put so much love, care and concern into my husband, myself and our kids. The entire experience. Bari, I know I thank you so often. But I need to reiterate that I couldn't have gotten through these horrific first steps of my husbands death without your kind and gentle soul. We hope you're able to make it to the service, we'd be honored to have you. With endless gratitude and love, The Lindborg Family

Instead of being met with professionalism or even basic empathy, the owner decided to accuse my mother of being "rude to the staff." Imagine calling a grieving daughter to scold her while she's trying to arrange cremation services. Completely unnecessary, inappropriate, and honestly disgusting behavior for someone in this line of work. The owner was cold, passive-aggressive, defensive, and seemed more focused on being offended than being helpful. This business does not treat grieving families with care -- they treat them like an inconvenience. To make it even worse, my grandmother's remains were returned to us in a plain box, not an urn. No dignity, no sensitivity, no effort -- just a box. And if you think this is a one-time issue, take one look at the owner's responses to Yelp reviews. She consistently responds to honest feedback by personally attacking customers instead of taking accountability. She has absolutely no right to insult or make assumptions about people she doesn't even know. She has no idea who we are, what our family dynamic is, what our grieving process looked like, or what we were dealing with -- yet she speaks as if she does. That alone tells you everything you need to know about her professionalism. If you can't handle death services with compassion, maturity, and respect, you are in the wrong profession. I genuinely hope more families speak up and report this business, because no one deserves to be treated this way while mourning a loved one. Save yourself the stress and choose literally anywhere else.

I have worn it ever since. My mother died on June the 2nd and since they took such good care of my husband I had her sent to Newton bracewell for cremation and ask them to do a hand scan so that I could have the same jewelry made. I was informed by Raphael that they no longer do a hand scan only a thumb and then the company will enlarge the thumbprint into a handprint. I didn't think that was true but I believed him just the same. When I went to order my piece of jewelry I was informed by the company that they needed a hand scan if I wanted a handprint. I called Newton bracewell and was informed by Dane that they no longer do hand scans because it is too time-consuming and difficult and they don't turn out perfectly. This is not the information I was given and Raphael actually lied to me. He didn't tell Dane that I wanted a handprint he didn't give me the option for a handprint even if it didn't turn out perfectly I would have rather had a handprint than just a thumbprint. Although Dane expressed great sympathy for the mix-up I was devastated at being lied to number one and number two not having the piece of jewelry with her handprint on it to remember her by. There is no way for a do-over once they are cremated. It is finished and there's no going back. I cannot say how disappointed or sad or angry I am at not having that handprint to hold and remember my mother by. If you do consider using Newton brace well as your funeral home and you want a handprint to remember your loved one by I suggest you not let Rafael assist you and go straight to Dane and insist on having them try to do the hand scan. I would much rather have had a imperfect handprint then the nothing I have now.

We requested Thumbies of my father, and I trusted that he would put it in the order. We've never done this before, we expected to have our hands held and absolutely babied throught the process because we are grieving. We are sad, angry, frustrated, and tired with just the fact my dad is dead, but to have THE Robert Bracewell tell my mom that the file for his thumbprint was corrupt and couldn't get the Thumbie for another couple weeks is downright abhorrent. It was the director first, but to have the owner double down on a blatant lie was too much. It was never on the receipt. The director did not put it on the order list, did not double or triple check DESPITE HEARING ALL THREE OF US SAY WE WANTED IT. I watched him write it down. Then he comes in with a fucking portable card reader and STANDS in front of my mom with it in her face, and said "your total will be XXX.XX today." That was my last lifeline to feel like my dad wasn't completely gone and I was lied to. Lies, liars, and cut corners. You should be fucking ashamed of yourselves for how you run this busimess. You will NEVER touch one of my family members again. Due to Yelp policy, I cannot delete the review on Chico's location. This all happened here at the Paradise location however; Bob still owns both of them.

Your respect, professionalism, and compassion truly meant more to us than words can express. Because we do not live in town, coordinating everything through text messages, phone calls, and emails could have been overwhelming. However, you made the entire process smooth and manageable. Your responsiveness and willingness to take care of every detail eased a great deal of stress for our family. I especially want to thank you for helping calm a very challenging situation. Emotions were understandably high, and when my aunt repeatedly insisted on making announcements about her husband's funeral services scheduled for the following day, it became distressing for our family. We felt strongly that this time was meant to honor my father-in-law, and your calm, respectful assistance in helping address the situation made a meaningful difference. Your presence helped keep the focus where it belonged and restored a sense of peace and order. Additionally, when there were family members behaving rudely or out of place, you handled those moments with remarkable professionalism, kindness, and care. The way you spoke with them privately and compassionately did not go unnoticed and was deeply appreciated. Your ability to remain patient, composed, and genuinely caring throughout everything brought comfort to our family during an emotional time. We are truly grateful for your dedication and support. Thank you again for everything you did for us. Ullrey Memorial Chapel is fortunate to have someone as compassionate and professional as you. With sincere appreciation, RMAERN
