Sylvia the OG brunette turned blonde is incredible. I got a Brazilian blowout fell in love, then a couple months later went all in with the cleopatra treatment. My hair is so silky and straight and it's grown since I've gotten the treatment albeit is on the thin side. Make sure you have an appointment in advance I'm not sure if they take walk ins, the appointment itself takes 2 hours. I purchased color wow products and a Dyson afterwards. Totally worth it. They do have a bathroom. They use a well ventilated room for all the treatment and it doesn't get too busy maybe one or two other clients will be there with you so sit back relax read a book and in two hours you'll have gorgeous humidity proof silky hair. read more

Shirel did a fantastic job on my daughter's hair. She has 4a/3c texture hair and has never had a chemical service. We wanted her hair to be easier to style and get healthier. Shirel recommended an EXCELLENT service called the "organic" treatment and honestly my daughter's hair has never felt better! Drying time and styling time has been cut by 1/3. I had such bad experiences in the last year with two bothched Keratin treatments that absolutely ruined my beautiful hair in the last year til i went to L&R Salon. I was recomended to go to him by a girl at my coffee shop who raved about him and she was right! He spend so much time explaining what different solutions we can use and he needed to analyze my hair before he decided which treatment (he went over all the different Brazilain Blow-out / Keratin treatments he uses depending on your hair type and issue). Also, after the treatment, he said "Please call us if you have any qustions or problems" No one says that! SO great he is! Love Love Love him! Also the super cool cubicles he created with air vents was really impressive. You feel so comfortable and cool and it was one of the hotest days in the valley! I was at L&R Salon Sherman Oaks recently but i was very disappointed!!!! The artist who did the service on my hair is incompetent, not credible, has a lack of knowledge on what she's supposed to do, and is definitely inexperienced. I will never recommend anyone to come to this salon. Beware of their promos, it's a rip off. I suggest you go to a legit, expert artist who will take good care of you in all honesty. I got a Brazilian blowout at this location a few weeks ago. About a week after the treatment, my scalp started to peel and I had an enormous amount of dandruff come out of my hair. I called the salon, and someone told me that about 1 out of 10 of his customers get this. However, no one ever told me that there was a risk of this happening. I did some research myself, and apparently some Brazilian blowout products contain methylene glycol which then turns to formaldehyde. Formaldehyde is a known carcinogen and can cause head and neck cancer. I asked the hair salon to send me a picture of the product they used, and lo and behold there was methylene glycol in the ingredient list. If you are thinking about getting this treatment done, please be aware that this treatment exposes you to formaldehyde, which is extremely dangerous to your health. All of the hair stylists wear these purple masks to prevent themselves from being exposed. However, all of the customers are just sitting there without any masks on. On top of that, there is also a risk that your scalp may start to peel (like mine). It's now 3 weeks since I've gotten the treatment and I continue to have some dandruff in my hair, which I've never ever had before. I would not come to this place again no matter how cheap it is, as the products used are not safe! read more

Great place. This was the first time I got a Brazilian where my eyes didnt burn or cough. They have a super cool set up. They wash your hair, then dry it and add the product. They let you sit for 15 min or so with the product and then put you in the glass room that has a vent and window so that the smell/ smoke when straightening your hair leaves the room. The treatment didn't last more than a month but maybe that's because I have super curly hair. Although I did the stronger Brazilian. I believe it was a level 4. I wish it would have lasted at least 2 months. But I will def give them another try. read more

Came here today 6/25/2020 after waiting till businesses were able to open, Tamara did my Brazilian, and she was fantastic, I felt very comfortable, she was personable, professional, and very confident in her ability to do a great Brazilian, any of you who have done this know not everyone is good... I have very curly frizzy course hair and she did a great job. She was worth the wait. The other thing I really liked about her, is how she spoke so highly of the owner, and how much she loved her job, I love that, I find that refreshing... I highly recommend her and the salon. Leslie gave one of the best Brazilian blowouts I have ever had and her personality made the 90 minutes feel like 10. I have been coming here for years. The treatment usually lasts for me about 4-5ish months. When I first get it it's usually very flat for the first month then volume slowly comes back. I had very very curly hair, and it would fall out a lot because of all the heat products I would use and the hair tangling. After the Brazilian blowout my hair is still thin but it doesn't fall out as much. I've become addicted to it. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants straighter hair, less frizz and/or wants to decrease the use of heat products. The place itself is very clean, everyone there is nice and knowledgeable.
