I gave my local used appliance shop a chance and was very Disappointed (My brother picked the washer because it was the only one available and I did not see it until I got home ) My Brother chose a washing machine kenmore front loader 300$... Sounds pretty steep but they said it was only 5 years old... So I figured that's not horrible, it should be in pretty good condition. Delivery fee 45$ When I first laid eyes on it could see it was NOT 5 years old. It looked as if it was one of the first concepts of a front loading washing machine. When I used it, the washing machine shook, vibrated, clanked, and some of the buttons didn't work. Even after we made sure it was level. I contacted L & S 3 days after we purchased it because they are not open on weekends. I was told that their 30 day warranty does not cover returns. Typically they will not accept returns but they will repair it.... This was not disclosed on their invoice. When my brother arrived at the agreed time to get money back, the woman of L & S was accompanied by 2 big biker gang members.... Odd but OK they can help unload? - Getting a hold of anyone at this business is like pulling teeth. -They don't return calls -They say they will call you, but don't - You can call them during business hours, but they rarely answer the phone - You can visit their shop during business hours but they probably won't be there If you're looking for a good used appliance/repair store call Dale at Complete Appliance in Lodi. My pet rat chewed up some of my fridges wires. I was worried that I'd have to buy a new unit. Nope, they were able to repair them and it's working as good as new. They came out within hours of the initial call and we're very friendly and knowledgeable. Also, Extremely reasonable in the price. First time I called I got the voicemail and left a message. The next morning I called again and left another message. My 3rd attempt was around 3 pm the same afternoon, finally got a answer. The lady was nice and pleasant. Unfortunently after her reviewing what I needed, they could not help me and refered me to contact the manufacture of my appliance. So I did, then phoned L&s again explaining to them what the manufacture had told me. Their technician was already gone, so she said they would call me back the next morning. Well they never called me back. I like to give local business my business but in this case I feel like there service was bad. Turn around time for returning phone calls horrible. I was very disappointed. First the repairman asked for the password to my WIFI router because he was getting bad cell phone reception. Then he gave me at estimate. Required full payment before doing anything - said it was company policy. I explained that state law limited and authorized a 10% down payment for any services. He said company policy. I said good bye and paid $70 for the call. I will be buying a new washing machine. My recommendation, either they comply with the law or stand to lose business. Never again with them. read more

In May of 2018 I contacted L&S Appliance when my 3 year old refrigerator/freezer was not holding temperature. I was pleased to know that they were able to make it out the following day to take a look at it. After inspecting my refrigerator/freezer the diagnosis was a bad inverter board. They did not have the part available. I was told it did not appear to be in stock at the two locations they purchase parts from so they would have to call me back on Monday after they made some calls. I asked about purchasing it some place else and was told they would not warranty the part, which I expected, but he did say it was plug and play so if I could find the part it could be easily installed. So I was charged the $70 Service Call and waited for the call back. On Monday I was informed it would be 4 to 5 weeks before they could get the part from their supplier. Really? That is the best you can do? She did give me the part number. So the first parts place I called said they could order the part and have it in two days. Fantastic! I picked up the part for $170 and installed it. Nothing changed! I called the manufacture and they set up an appointment to come take a look. The technician not only diagnosed the problem as a freon leak, he looked up the model number and found that the issue was covered by the manufacture for 10 years! I wasted $70 fee to get he wrong diagnosis and $170 for nonrefundable electrical part I did not need. For $99 the manufacture sent out a qualified technician to diagnose the problem and repair my refrigerator at no charge. After it was fixed I called L&S Appliance to request a refund for their service which was less than acceptable. I was told they couldn't refund me for the part since it was not purchased through them. Okay. I kind of understand that, except the part was not faulty. Their diagnosis was wrong. I was also told I would get a call back to discuss the refund. Nothing! I would not recommend L&S Appliance. I wasted $240 with them. Just call someone qualified from the start. read more
