I will not spoil this place's perfect record of 5 star reviews, it deserves it. Simple, quiet, peaceful getaway from the hustle of the streets around St. Peter's and the gift shops. Menu is reasonable as far as prices and selection go. You can split a bottle of wine or a bottle of local beer, share a pizza, but don't share the bruscetta. It's only enough for one. The interior is exactly what you would expect for a real Italian eatery, not fancy. Fancy is not better. Italians don't cut their pizza, by the way, so don't complain about that. They know a little English here but don't try to have a conversation. Know some Italian so you can sound normal.

I'd say this restaurant is between a 3 and a 4 star. Seeing as it has so far been the only restaurant I've been to in Rome, I have nothing to compare it to. Jet lag got me good and we didn't venture out for food until 10pm. This place got our business simply because they are open late. Our waiter was not warm per say but I did not feel hated as a tourist. He understood our little bit of Italian and spoke enough English to understand us. Very much appreciated! We ordered a bottle of prosecco, lasagna for my husband and homemade ravioli for myself. I also ask for bread but the waiter either didn't understand, didn't hear me, ignored me or forgot. Either way I didn't stress over it. After the meal we shared dessert, a custard filled pie with pine nuts and powdered sugar. Our meal was decent. I wasn't a fan of the lasagna, I did not like the red sauce or the meat but the pasta itself was good. I enjoyed my meal but later found myself hungry. Probably just because I'm familiar with American-Italian portions. Here you have smaller portions but more courses. The ambiance was nice but nothing pretentious or fancy. Outdoor seating looked nice but it was too chilly the night we dined in. Our total came to 51 euro with the service fee (tip) included.

This was one of our best experiences in Italy. We came upon the restaurant accidentally after touring the Vatican. It is a very short walk from the Vatican, but really didn't seem like a tourist trap. The prices were fair, and there were Italians eating there and not just a ton of tourists (like us!). Everyone was really friendly, especially our waiter. I tried to ask him if I customize the antipasto place to include just certain grilled vegetables and olives. He didn't understand what I was asking and I didn't understand what he was saying, but he walked me right over to the beautiful antipasto display and had me point at what I wanted and he put it right on the plate with a big smile. He was wonderful! I had the Spaghetti al Pesto and it was the best Pesto I have ever had. I crave it to this day. It was slightly creamy without being cream based, and garlicky without being too much. It was incredible. My husband had the Margherita Pizza. He liked it, but he liked my Pesto better! I highly recommend making your way to L'Angoletto ai Musei. It was amazing.

Come to this restaurant according to the reviews. As a vegetable lover, I excitedly ordered the Vegetarian Antipasto, and basil spaghetti. Well, it is my bad that I didn't realize the review on the starter was made 2 YEARS ago. The vegetables now are pre-grilled and 【full of oil】, which are not special nor delicious and greasy as cheap Italian restaurant. The spaghetti was a little too salty for me, but it is fine as Italian dish are all a little too salty for me. However, the worst is the spaghetti was a little 【too hard than normal】. The overall flavor is ok, not outstanding.

Review # 1200 After…read moresome shopping on the Via cola Di Riemzo, we were ready for lunch. This spot was a Yelp find. We arrived just before they opened at 12:30. We asked for a table outside and the kind lady asked us if we had a reservation (oh oh). We didn't. No problem as we took our pick of one of the tables. Two levels inside with a small Bar in the back. Before we knew it, outside seating was full and inside also filled up-a good sign. We ordered a liter (ended up being too much but when in Rome...) of their house Red and enjoyed it. For starters, we ordered the Fried Artichokes (thick breading and will order the Roman style with garlic/vinegar next time), fried Zucchini and Suppli-Cacio Pepe. The Suppli was delicious and was enjoyed the most. For main, it was Pasta Carbonara (Guanciale )-Proper carbonara and the streak of not having a bad version of this dish in Rome continues. The sliced Beef with mushrooms was also delicious -super tender and thin pieces of beef (medium rare as requested). We asked if the Tiramisu was house-made. Our server answered, "yes, and I am the one who makes it." How could we not order after that?! One of the best Tiramisus we've had. Perfect balance of coffee dipped lady fingers with cream-delicious! Our Server was kind, attentive and full of hustle -she was covering a lot of ground. Don't miss this Gem if you are in the Prati district.

Would definitely return.

Our family of four was waiting to be seated when a local family of four arrived after us and was seated immediately. We were eventually seated right next to them, and they were served bread while we were ignored and received none. We ordered wine that was never brought to the table, and at one point a waiter who was not even serving us removed our wine glasses after we had already ordered the wine. The service throughout the meal was chaotic and rude. The artichoke dish was extremely bland -- no seasoning and no flavor at all. Most of the food was greasy and disappointing. To make matters worse, we were seated directly next to the kitchen where the cooks and waiters were loudly arguing throughout our meal. We understand that service in Italy is often slower and more relaxed, and we have enjoyed wonderful hospitality everywhere else during our trip. However, this was by far the worst service we experienced anywhere in Italy. We were even asked if we wanted the bill before we had finished eating, while the local family next to us remained seated comfortably long after finishing their meal. We left feeling unwelcome and discriminated against. Unfortunately, this restaurant seemed interested only in serving locals well. If you are not Italian, do yourself a favor and dine elsewhere. We absolutely do not recommend this place.

We split a salad that was big enough for a meal, my wife had the bolognese, and I had the steak. It was super rare, but as I cut into it, I would lay it onto the stone to allow it to cook a bit more. I like it on the lean side of medium rare and my wife prefers a bit more. This was perfect for us to both enjoy it the way we like. Her pasta was excellent as well and we enjoyed sharing the meal. A bottle of wine topped off a great dinner. The weather was rainy so we opted to sit inside and it was warm and welcoming. Our waiter was helpful with our choices and we enjoyed his observations. The only thing I can say that was off, was the older woman who was paying her bill before me was pressured into leaving a tip ( service charge, is what he said). I was prepared for that but was not asked to tip. Great meal, we enjoyed it immensely, but the service charge that was scammed out of the 70+ year old lady in front of me kind of left a sour taste in my mouth. I was going to tip a few euros because we enjoyed ourselves so much, but decided not to because of the way it was presented to the party before us.

We had a calzone and traditional spaghetti and both were delicious. I don't even know how to describe the calzone. It was unlike anything I've had before but SO good. I literally cleaned my plate with the last of the breading from it. The owner/chef was Luca. He was upset with the host because he had burned the plastic on the outdoor tent as he had placed a heater too close to it. To be honest, he seemed like a bit of a jerk, but his food was freaking delicious.

It is a large restaurant and was full of lively patrons. The indoor decor is warm and inviting. The first thing I noticed was the camaraderie between the waitstaff - everyone seemed to get along, helped each other and were having fun. We had 2 wonderful Filipino waiters. One had the same Ray-Ban meta glasses as my husband, which they bonded over. We ordered the bombolotti carbonara and lasagna-both delicious. For the mains, grilled Turbot (which was perfectly de-boned tableside) and meatballs w/ mashed potatoes. While the waiter was de-boning the fish, the song "Take Me Home, Country Roads" by John Denver came on overhead. My husband and I both looked at each other and smiled, thinking WTH?! I asked the waiter, "did we tell you we were from West Virginia?" and he smiled and shook his head. But later confessed, he played it for us (I guess we did tell him, lol). It made our night. Rome was the last city in our multi-city 12 day tour and we loved every minute but we were looking forward to going home. Hearing "Country Roads" at a popular and busy restaurant a block away from the Spanish Steps blew our minds. A young couple sat next to us for a quick snack, I asked her what she ordered (it looked delicious) and she said "Im from a different part of Italy but come here just for their artichokes". A few minutes later, I saw a plate full of artichokes pass by, being brought to a table outside. They made my mouth water. Al 34 was one of our favorite restaurants in Italy -- wonderful food (extensive menu), very lively with a mixed crowd (lots of Asians, English speakers and native Italians). It is a fun place to go and the wait staff is one of the reasons I will be coming back. I cant wait to try their artichokes! If you see the word, carciofo (artichoke), order it!
