A heel of one of my boots snapped halfway off and the shoe was completely unwearable. After getting a couple of quotes close to $100 (almost the price of the original purchase) I thought I'd try Artisan. They quoted me $30 and when I received my shoes I could barely see where the heel had broken. The leather was replaced and blended in perfectly with the original leather. Based on the reviews here, I entrusted this place with several very expensive pairs of shoes. And did they ever deliver! They all came back looking like new--but they're better than new, because they're already broken in comfort-wise! This was so unlike the time i took in a gorgeous pair of Robert Clergerie shoes to this other shoe repair place (now out of business) and the guy insisted he could fix them, "no problem." When they came back, the beautiful black lacquer sculpted heels had been replaced with hideous, clunky cheap pump heels. This was so NOT like that time.... THIS place is great! Wonderful work! Hayt replaced both zippers and heels on my fave pair of boots, cleaned and polished... effectively wiping 15 years of wear off of them so they look as good as new!!! Even though I work in technology, I need a paper planner to keep me organized--the act of writing helps me remember. So, I use a Franklin planner. My old black leather planner fell apart and I couldn't find anything off the shelf that I liked. So I bought a piece of green ostrich-embossed leather on Ebay, a piece of green lining at a fabric store, and then started looking for a place that would copy my planner with my materials. Some places couldn't do it, and others quoted me crazy prices. To make a long story short, Hayk at L'Artisan quoted me a fair price (more than fair, truthfully) and I just picked up my gorgeous new green planner. Recently my trusty great-fitting sandals were wearing out. I hadn't checked for a shoe repair place on Yelp, but I was in the neighborhood, so took them to L'Artisan because I figured it couldn't hurt - the shoes were about gone, anyway. I took a Dior handbag with worn out Black handles to the shop. I had a quote from Dior that was exorbitant. I would have had to wait months to get it back. The masterfully talented owner put on new handles. The purse looks like new. They do precision work on my Chloe five hundred plus shoes. I have been to the best places in town. Came here on a whim to get a heel replaced on a pretty old yet my fave pair of booties that I was on the verge of donating. So happy I came here first! For $15 (yes a bit pricier then other places) they fixed up both shoes and sewed a tab that was ripping off, they also buffed them so well and made them look just as good as the day I bought them. Hands down the best shoe / belt / handbag repair shop anywhere. The owner, Hayk, is a true master of his trade and the nicest guy who genuinely cares about his customers. Over the years, he has fixed countless pairs of shoes for me, changed hardware on luggage, repaired or changed straps on handbags, and made one of my oldest and favorite leather chairs look better than it did when I bought it brand new. Hasmik is a gem, her unbelievably skilled work speaks for itself - often, when picking up I couldn't even find where the material was ripped or the handle came off when I brought it in for repair. The people at L'Artisan are easy and pleasant to deal with, and the work they do is worth ten stars, not five. I used to go to other places before I found this shop, and not only did I pay much more for what was mediocre at best, but the repairmen would give me attitude when I "dared" to question the quality of the work or the poor (and super cheap) materials they used.
