WOW SO DELICIOUS!! hack to get a res is going for lunch lol this meal was so yummy!! the perciatelli nero was bright, citrusy, and had an aftertaste of spicy (from the pepper i assume). the crab pieces were generous and buttery and the pasta seemed to be homemade and cooked al dente. very light and refreshing and the sauce was addicting. i think this pasta paired perfectly with the burger. definitely a heavier, decadent dish, but also surprisingly not too salty. the meat itself was fine but i thought the bun was so good especially since the bottom bun kinda absorbed the meat and cheese juice and the top bun stayed crispy and soft. potatoes on the side were fine. tbh i think this is the best meal ive had at an italian restaurant. and they gave us free gelato for my friend's birthday!!! great service, lots of seating (altho the tables were kinda sat pretty close together) and honestly a great place to catch up over a yummy meal.

One of my favorite Italian restaurants in the city! L'Artusi is such a hard res to get, and I completely understand why! Everything was phenomenal. The ambiance is upscale and so chic. Service was friendly and efficient! Apps: Roasted Mushrooms and Burrata Crostone - Both were beyond flavorful and delicious, but the mushrooms are a must order! They're so savory with a hint of spice and richness from the runny egg. 10/10! Mains: Garganelli, Cacio E Pepe, Roasted Carrots - all three of these dishes were incredible. The Garganelli had a rich mushroom ragu and the Cacio was perfectly rich and creamy. The carrots were a sleeper hit- the za'atar and pistachio put it over the top! Dessert: Olive Oil Cake - light and not too sweet. The fresh crème mousse was delightful. Overall, I loved my meal at L'Artusi! Can't wait to come back!

Chic restaurant with open kitchen and a small upstairs private dining room. The restaurant felt romantic but also has several families and friend groups. The pasta was al dente perfection and most importantly there were generous sauce portions. Our waiter was attentive, friendly, and personable. I dined with a friend and we ordered 3 pastas instead of an appetizer (fantastic choice). We tried the following dishes: *Garganelli Mushroom Ragu and Ricotta Salata. This was by far our favorite dish. It was bursting with flavor, had tons of sauce and cheese and was perfectly cooked. If you enjoy mushroom you MUST order this!! *Tagliatelle Bolognese Bianco (Chicken, Veal, Pork) and Parmigiano. Which was so delicious and has plenty of meat and sauce. The tagliatelle was amazing and tasted to fresh. *Bucatini with Pancetta, Tomato, Chilies and Pecorino. We thought this was good but our least favorite dish of the 3. Honorable mention to the spaghetti that my friend had at her last visit. She said it was fresh and delicious but almost too rich which she mostly owned to it being a white sauce.

L'Artusi has been on my radar for a while, ever since I heard it was a hot spot and saw reviews of it being one of the best Italian restaurants in NYC. Being Italian American, I'm hypercritical of spots like these - but nevertheless the positive reviews were overwhelming so I wanted to check it out for myself. One of my friends and I were looking to catch up, so I booked a table and off we went. While it can be tricky to get a reservation during prime dinner time, it's relatively easy to get a lunch reservation - or an early/late dinner. I managed to get a reservation for dinner at 9:15pm which was the earliest I could find. The restaurant is pretty unassuming on the outside - it looks like a converted brownstone and once inside we were greeted by a large space with a sceney vibe. The space is split between two levels with a large bar up front and a semi-open kitchen in the back. The decor was modern - with lots of greys and neutral tones which was a little unexpected. The main star of the menu is pasta, but they also have a few non-pasta mains as well as some crudo selections, apps, and sides. We decided to get a few apps, two pastas, and one side. To start, we went with the octopus, roasted mushrooms, burrata crostone, and focaccia. These were all really good, but my favorite was the mushrooms. I'm usually not a fan of mushrooms but these were prepared with red pepper and fried egg and were delicious; it cut through the earthiness and changed the texture to something I really enjoyed. The focaccia was also a standout - it's house made and was paired with a peppery oil that complemented the bread well. For mains we split two pastas - the caccio e pepe and the rigatoni. Both of these were very good, though I felt the rigatoni was the stronger dish. It was prepared with sausage ragu, soppressata, broccoli rabe pesto, and pecorino. The flavors worked really well together and the pasta was cooked al dente. The caccio e pepe was perfectly fine, I just feel it's been overplayed and didn't feel there was anything that stood out amongst the others I've tried. We also got a broccoli rabe as a side which was great. We couldn't leave without dessert and decided to get their olive oil cake and quattro formaggio cheesecake. The restaurant is known for the former - it was perfectly fine but I've had olive oil cakes elsewhere of the same or better quality. The cheesecake was the stronger dessert IMO - the combination of cheeses gave it an interesting, almost savory flavor. The brûlée top and mascerated strawberries were great texture and flavor complements. Service was great - the place was packed but service was consistently on point and everyone was friendly. Overall, I had a good experience at L'Artusi. While everything was very good, I'm struggling to find the exact reason why this place became such a hot spot compared to other Italian spots in the city. Nevertheless, you'll have a good meal here and I would definitely return if given the opportunity.

A co-worker recommended this restaurant so I decided to give it a shot and I'm so glad that I did. The service staff were super friendly and professional. The roasted mushroom dish was unlike any other mushroom dish I've ever had. It was absolutely delicious. However, the star of the show was the olive oil cake. Such an amazing dessert. I wish I can give this place 6 stars.

We really enjoyed our counter dining experience at L'Artusi, especially the chance to watch the bustling open kitchen in action. We started with the housemade focaccia and Wagyu carpaccio--both were outstanding, with the perfect balance of crispy, flavorful, and fresh elements. My partner and I shared the pasta, hangar steak, and potatoes, which turned out to be the ideal amount for two. We finished with the famous olive oil cake, which we loved for its subtly sweet, moist and tender bite. Served with lightly whipped cream and raisins, the combination was surprisingly delicious. We were also touched by the complimentary anniversary scoop of ice cream. The interior seating is a bit snug, but the decor is beautiful--elegant yet homey. The service was good as well. Overall, we highly recommend L'Artusi for a special night out!

Finally tried L'Artusi for dinner on a Friday at 6:30! It was pretty hard to get a resy but having an Amex platinum helped. It was for my birthday and we were seated upstairs. Upstairs was smaller and brighter, downstairs had more of a vibey ambience so i would request down there next time. Service was good, and our cocktails came out quickly! For food, we ordered the: -house made focaccia -mushrooms -tagliatelle -hanger steak and potatoes The focaccia was perfectly garlicky and came with olive oil w/ spicy peppers to dip into. Mushroom dish was my favorite - loved the flavors with the fried egg and shaved cheese on top. Tagliatelle was solid, but probably could have comparable elsewhere in city. Hanger steak was our favorite, it was cooked perfectly medium rare but only came with 5 pieces. Wish they charged more and added more steak. Potatoes were roasted to perfection! We were stuffed by the end of the night!! They ended up bringing a scoop of vanilla bean gelato for my birthday, which was a nice touch.

We made a reservation for 5 when it opened, got there early, and by the time they let us in at 5:05, there were dozens of people, and the place was quickly packed! Tight space, dark lighting, but the food was phenomenal. We started with the house made focaccia, amazing, and we would have had more if it was free. We started with beets, carrots, mushrooms with an over easy egg on top, and everything was delicious! Like every bite! Our pastas were tortellini, bucatini, and pici cacio e pepe. Again all amazing, different flavors, fresh housemade pasta, so good! We also tried the hanger steak and roasted chicken. The steak sadly was cold, bummer, makes a big difference, but the crispy potatoes were excellent. The star of the night was the chicken, TO DIE FOR! We cleaned that plate! You have to get the chicken! Overall loved our experience!

Cane for brunch and had a great experience. Pastas were soo delish! Cocktails were good too. The olive oil cake was soooo good. Great Italian spot and seemingly decently easy to get a reservation in a time where there are soo many hyped up Italian spots with no available reservations. Would like to go back for dinner, too!

Had a great experience at L'Artusi for brunch. Service was very quick, we were in and out (with reservation) in less than an hour. Servers were attentive and our glasses were never empty! Pasta was delicious - The cacio e pepe pasta noodles were thick and al dente. Carbonara was creamy with the egg yolk. Will definitely be back!

Have been wanting to try Lartusi for so long and finally made it for dinner. Restaurant is super busy it opened at 5pm for dinner service and the entire place was full. Service was great and we were seated promptly. I had the clementine cocktail which was lovely. We ordered the hamachi crudo which I do not recommend it came with a very harsh horseradish aioli (???) which really through us off. Fish quality was fine. Rigatoni and hanger steak were good.

I had been wanting to try L'Artusi for so long, and, sadly, I was greatly underwhelmed. For starters, I dined in with a group of 6, and it seemed as though we were squeezed into a 4 top. There was hardly room to eat comfortably. When the drinks came out, the server spilled part of a cocktail on my back and on my purse, and didn't really apologize, but just handed me a napkin. I would never make a scene in that situation, but an apology would have been appreciated. The food overall was good, and the 6 of us were able to share a mixed assortment of pastas, but nothing really impressed me. The main highlight of L'Artusi was is that they make excellent gluten free pasta. My close friend has celiac disease, and she confirmed that the gluten free pasta was better than most!

Holyyyyy cow. We heard good things about this place, but we didn't fully expect it to be so great! We don't have enough good things to say about L'Artusi, the staff, and the food! Our waiter, AJ, was an ANGEL from heaven who deserves the world and absolutely took the best care of us. The space is gorgeous, and we can totally see how it would be a perfect romantic vibe or a fun lunch out with your girls (what we did!) And the food? Oooooof! The food was phenomenal! I got the mushroom ragu, which was to DIE for. And the desserts? So good! Blew our minds! We cannot recommend enough running here to grab a meal (or several)!

    Ask the Community - L'Artusi

How long is a typical dinner here? We plan to watch a Broadway show at 7pm, but I don't want to be "rushed" in a sense so I am favoring a later reservation after the show rather than a 5pm dinner. Any suggestions?

I think you got it right to reserve after the show and not to rush it before . It's about a 1.5sh hour of dinner but if the restaurant is full (most likely...) it might be longer service . Enjoy .

What are the must try dishes at L'Artusi?

Spaghetti, Tagliatelle, Roasted mushrooms and the Olive oil cake

Can I walk in without a reservation on a Friday night (tn)?

Last time I tried to do this at 7pm the wait was 3 hours so wouldn't recommend!

How do I make a reservation on resy? Nothing seems available even a month out?

Call the restaurant directly 30 days out. That's how I've always gotten in

    Is there outdoor dining?

    Yes

I'm on OpenTable through google, I am trying to set u a reservation for 2 on a Saturday and it seems there is NOTHING available. I got a bit past a month and it says it's too far out. Any recommendations on other methods for scheduling a reservation?

Sit at the bar...you may need to wait a bit if you don't arrive on the earlier side. We'll worth the wait. Mention Heather sent you!

Will you be open for dinner on Christmas Eve?

Yes, we will be open Christmas Eve.

    How are portion sizes here?

You need to Order one entree per person, as they are not huge but fairly sized. It's well worth it!

What are our chances on showing up when they open (or slightly before & waiting) and getting a table without a reservation? They are fully booked for reservations the night we want to go (Saturday night, 9th feb) but it looks so good!

I would definitely call day of about 3pm. They usually call to confirm reservations and sometimes people cancel. I've done this trick a few times.

Are the offerings here mostly 'small plates?'

We have a combination of smaller plates and heartier items all intended to be shared. You can comfortably make a meal of 2-3 dishes per person and the team will be happy to help you determine the right amount for your appetite. The smaller items…

What is the minimum amount of people needed to reserve the private room? It's my mother's 70th birthday in October and I think this restaurant would be perfect for us and her friends.

It's a minimum amount of $ not people. And a maximum the room will hold. Call or email the event person.

We don't have a reservation and we have tickets to Hamilton at 7, but I really want to eat here! Do you think we can get seats at bar and make it to the show if we are there precisely when they open? And know exactly what we want to order.

YES, with the rate or service and taking the subway (it will take about 15-30 mins on the subway to get back to Hamilton)!
