I first tried L'As du Fallafel back in 2019 on my first trip to Paris. I ordered the falafel sandwich and fries. It was one of the most memorable food things I ate while there. It was so memorable that when I planned my next trip to Europe, I had to make sure to add Paris to my itinerary, just for this falafel. This place did not disappoint. The falafel is so fresh and flavorful, and the bread is so soft and warm. The sauces they add accompanied with the fresh crunchy veggies are so good. Every bite is perfect... I like to add the harissa sauce they have at the table to my sandwich and kick it up a notch. The fries are fresh and crispy! I add the harissa sauce to those, too. They also make a mint lemonade, which is too good to pass up. We had a chance to try the meatball shakshuka, and it was delicious as well. The service is friendly and they speak English too! This is not fine dining, but the inside of the restaurant is casual and comfortable. You really are doing yourself a disservice if you don't try this place while you are in Paris. read more

I have not had Israeli food this good outside of Israel! I am so glad we made the trip and the effort to stand in line to eat at this wonderful restaurant. The food is delicious and fresh. Service is outstanding and the line moves quick even though it may seem long. The ambience is great and this is in a nice area of Paris. The falafel is amazing. We had an amazing lunch here. There was a line to get in but we had a group of seven and so when they had a bigger table open up, they actually let us in quickly. The food was absolutely spectacular. We had the Chopped liver and Israeli plate appetizers. The chopped liver was some of the best I've ever had. The Israeli plate is a bunch of falafel with delicious hummus, and some red tapenade. It was absolutely delicious. The only note of caution I would give you is that the Israeli plate is a lot of falafel and if you get the falafel sandwich which is also delicious, it will be a lot of falafel on top of a lot of falafel. So you might want to consider getting the sandwich or falafel platter and not getting the Israeli appetizer. The kids had the kids chicken sausages with fries, which were very good and came with a really delicious cucumber and tomato salad. They doused the living shit out of it with tahini sauce which provided that much needed creaminess. The fries were piping hot like we had to harness every drop of willpower not to burn the shit out of our mouth with them. I've had this place on my radar for years (I don't even know from where) and now that I was finally visiting Paris, I was able to give this place a try. We got there at around 5:30 on a Sunday. There's one line for takeaway and one for dine in. We decided to do takeaway. Don't let the line intimidate you. It's worth the wait and we only ended up waiting about 15 minutes. These guys have their ducks in a row. One person goes down the line taking orders/collecting payments. Then when you get up to the window, you give them your ticket and they make your order fresh. We ordered the Fallafel special sandwich to share, since we were still planning on having dinner later. This might be the best falafel I've ever had. It's freshly fried, so it comes out hot and crispy. I believe 6 falafels come in a sandwich. It also comes with all the fix-ins: lettuce, tomato, eggplant, some kind of red cabbage slaw that really balances out the whole sandwich, hummus, and garlic sauce. It's pretty messy to eat but it's so good. My only piece of feedback would be for them to layer the sauce/hummus. It just sits on top so when you get towards the middle/bottom, you don't get any of those flavors anymore. I wish we got to try the shawarma. I guess this warrants a return trip to Paris! read more

The last few times I have been here, I've done the takeaway, but this time, we are in. Definitely come earlier than you usually would to minimize wait time (we had no wait, but it does get busy, even though tables are filled almost as quickly as they are emptied). Mom ordered the falafel sandwich, and I ordered the falafel plate. The falafel plate is magnificent--it comes with all of the delicious fillings that you'd get with the sandwich, plus the deliciousness that is the house hummus and baba ganoush. They're both silky smooth and creamy. The baba ganoush has a hint of smoke and plenty of tahini. The falafel itself is crispy and beautifully seasoned, and there's extra texture thanks to whole sesame seeds. The other accompaniments include two kinds of cabbage salad (one white and one red/purple), tomato and cucumber salad, and roasted eggplant that just melts in your mouth. Try some of the spicy sauce--it's got a pleasant heat from chilis, brightness from cilantro, plus a bit of smoke and a lovely saltiness. There are maybe two or three falafel places on this road near L'As du Fallafel but there's is the only one with a line down the street, this one. We went around 1030am and the line had already swelled to 15 people. No worries, they move extremely fast. It is a must have in Le Marais!!! Stateside in the US, I've never had one as tender and flavorful. In fact, I'd largely been turned off by the dish due to blandness, but this establishment does it right!
