L'As du Fallafel is a lively, always-buzzing spot in the Marais and easily one of the most popular street food stops in Paris. We tried the chicken shawarma, lamb and turkey shawarma, along with their house hot sauce, fries, and an Israeli beer. Everything hit the mark--the wraps were packed, juicy, and easily among the best we've had anywhere. The chicken shawarma in particular stood out for its flavor and freshness, while the hot sauce added a great kick without overpowering the food. The fries were simple but satisfying and worked perfectly alongside the wraps. The atmosphere is fast-paced and energetic, with a constant mix of locals and tourists, and it's usually packed, which adds to the experience. Service was friendly despite the crowds and the quick turnover. A must-visit for anyone craving a generous, flavorful, and satisfying falafel or shawarma experience in Paris.
Had some amazing French restaurants while in Paris, but this cute, casual place has them beat. Still dreaming of L'As du Fallafel and their perfectly crispy falafels and creamy hummus. The portions are generous and I recommend sharing a plate or pita with someone because it's a lot! Great place to stop by after a day of shopping. No wait for our party of 8 despite the very limited seating (they gave us two tables of four) because it was 3pm in the afternoon.
Incredible Service, incredible food. The nicest men waited on us perfectly. Food is yummy and authentic. Had the falafel wrap. Ohhh so delicious.
Best Fulop and Paris highly recommend going to this place. We came here because my mom had been here in the past. It's an amazing blend of cultures. You see people from all over the country. All religions dining in one place just to have great food.. We had the falafel sandwich which was phenomenal crispy with the pain is from the pickles that was perfect. We also have a Shawarma plate that was immensely tasty a great amount of food. I particularly loved the cabbage salad. The staff is extremely friendly informative made you feel like you're at home. You can take the food to go or eat there. I highly recommend coming to this place. Whether you're in the neighborhood room for a destination to come if you're in the neighborhood or make it a destination for the incredible friend in the shopping in this neighborhood both vintage and otherwise it's truly outstanding. One of our favorite areas in all of. Paris.
Famous falafel spot in the Marais. There was a bit of a line right when they opened but they're efficient about it. We split the Falafel Signature sandwich and it's tasty. The Falafel balls were crispy and fresh. I loved the addition of roasted eggplants and the spicy sauce added a nice kick to the sandwich as well. Not the best I've ever had but a fun snack nonetheless.
VEGAN REVIEW My friend recommended this place vehemently & I was a little like... what's the big deal, it's falafel... YOU GUYS IT IS SO DELICIOUS The falafel is perfection, as are all the side dips, salads & breads. As someone who goes to Paris quite often, I am always on the hunt for some new places to eat at. I stumbled upon L'As du Fallafel, and this restaurant had some delicious dishes to try! It is a very busy spot, so finding a seat can be quite difficult. But the service is really fast and the servers are also very kind. Prices do differ if you want to dine in vs take out. Now on to the food, the falafel plate is delicious and with the portion sizes are big so can definitely be shareable! The sandwiches are very fresh, have great flavour and its just packed with so much ingredients! 9/10 recommend!
We made a stop here for a late night snack, I was excited to give them a try after seeing all the raving reviews. I decided to order the Falafel special, which comes with falafel, veggies, eggplant, tahini sauce, and hot sauce in a pita. The pita was packed with everything and I really liked the falafel, it was very tasty and cooked perfectly. The hot sauce also had that spicy kick that spicy lovers will enjoy. The tahini was just okay though, I felt like I had better tahini at other places in the states. Overall, the falafel pita was pretty good, but the tahini brought it down a little bit. Compared to other places I've been to in the states, I felt like the white sauce wasn't better. With that in mind, it's still a pretty good spot to get your falafel fix in.
I mean, yeah come on. The food is phenomenal. Not a long wait, great service and staff who keep the line moving. Very authentic and a great mix of textures and flavors. Tried the lamb shawarma and falafel pita. DELISH
While waking around the old Jewish quarter our local friend suggested we come here to get takeout and go eat in a nearby park. We were told they usually have a long line but it wasn't bad that day. We got a bunch of schawarmas and fries - all quite delicious and for Paris a 15 euro schawarma with juicy tasty meat is reasonable. They have seating inside but on a nice day the hidden gem of a park just a few steps to the right of it is a much more pleasant venue.
Not my first time dining here; it's a must do each time we are in Paris. Don't be dissuaded if you see a line at the door, it moves quickly. I adore their food and so does everyone else as it's always filled with locals! You may consider sharing a few things because portions are large.
The first time we came here, my family loved it. We came in the winter and it was the perfect hot meal and the falafel was super crispy. Now, two years later, we came back and felt that it was alright. There are always lines but it goes relatively quick. The falafel is probably the best falafel we've ever tried, but the shawarma in a pita was ok and the rest of the veggies and sauces in the falafel were not the best we've ever had (best meat in pita we've had is Falafel Stop in northern california).
By far the best falafel in the world (and yes I've had a lot of falafel in the US and internationally including Egypt). Absolutely incredible. Quick service even if you are waiting in line to sit down (wait is usually 20 minutes or less). The guy writing your name down is hilarious and fun. If you don't want to sit down there is a to go line that is quick. The restaurant itself is like a fast food seating with basic chairs and tables that is semi clean. Service is definitely very quick. The food is absolutely amazing. The hot sauce is fantastic. The veggies are fresh. I could eat this everyday. I'm so sad it's in Paris and would love for it to be in the USA It is a must go otherwise you didn't do Paris right! Scrap the Michelin stars and go here

Best falafel of my life. The cabbage filling not only tastes delicious but adds beautiful color and texture to the dish. It is a long line but if moves quickly. The fries were a big disappointment though. read more
While in Paris, my husband and I were determined to eat at this place after hearing so much about it. And it did not disappoint! I'm not a huge falafel person, but here, it really lived up to the hype. My husband got the shawarma, after the guy told him to because "you're a big guy." Haha! The pita sandwiches both came out with french fries in it! What an unexpected yummy surprise! Advice: I'm not a hot sauce person, nor can I eat very spicy foods. However, when they ask if you want hot sauce, load it on and ask for extra. It is delicious and not that hot and I was kicking myself after, for telling them to go easy on the sauce. Also, when you are walking down the street looking for the restaurant, you'll see several other falafel places. They will all call to you and ask you if you want to eat falafel. Don't be fooled. Look straight ahead and don't make eye contact. Look for the green painted storefront. Others may say that they are all just as good as LduF, but honestly, I didn't want to take that risk. The line was pretty quick. Lastly, when you're standing and eating on the street (which is what everyone is doing), watch out for birds and pigeons. I almost got sh*t on! Those suckers know whats up and probably are hanging around for some yummy scraps. read more

If you come to Paris...of course you have to try this place. I've heard about it from anyone I talked to that either lives in Paris or had visited Paris. They claim it is the best falafel that you will ever have so obviously I was going to go try it. Since I've been in paris (7 weeks) I've been here 5 times..not bad. The line to get take-out is always kinda long and the line to go sit inside is average (sometimes there isnt a wait if you come at an odd time). The take-away prices are cheaper than eating in. A falafel wrap is €5.50 and it comes in a thick pita with 6-7 (?) pieces of falafel, eggplant, shredded red cabbage, white sauce, and a spicy sauce. The falafel here IS really really good BUT for some reason when all those things are combined together, everything kinda just gets soggy and salty. None the less, it is delicious especially with that eggplant! The only thing is is that I feel they might be a little inconsistent with the number of falafel they are putting in each order. I swear one time I got it and I got 9 pieces of falafel and then another time I got 6. Thats a big difference!! Also one time I came to eat in and me and a friend shared the falafel platter which comes with everything thats in the wrap but just on a plate PLUS hummus. It was sooo delicious. And they serve it with pita bread to. I seriously have to come back here for their shawarma which I heard is equally amazing. read more

No hype here. It's real. It will arguably be the best falafel you'll ever have, for between 7-8 euros. Imagine a labyrinth of narrow medieval streets; cobblestone pavements and the hurried activity of daytime trade: the chatter of the market, the thud of the door to the kosher deli, the fragrance of sizzling street food. Rue des Rosiers is one of those thoroughfares you will you never forget, so regardless of whether you choose to visit L'As du Fallafel or not, you must make your way here while in Paris. In the heart of the Jewish Quarter of Le Marais, you will be charmed by legacy of Yiddish language and Parisian aristocracy. In the heart of the madness on Rue des Rosiers is L'As du Fallafel, a gyro/kosher/falafel shop like no other. There are a couple of imitations nearby, so make sure you're in the right spot. IT'S CLOSED ON SATURDAYS. Take note. Stand in a long line, it's ok, it moves quickly. They've got a great system - they'll take your order and you'll pay before you reach the ordering window. Who knew ground chickpeas and fava beans could be fried so perfectly, stuffed lovingly into soft pillows of flatbread and adorned by such amazing accompaniments like GRILLED EGGPLANT and the most wonderful tzatziki sauce? It was the eggplant that did it for me. The food is consistent here and I hope it never changes! read more

rue Des Rosiers is a destination of its own in Paris, and one of my favorite during my stay. You're not bound to find a more vibrant and exposed Jewish community anywhere else outside of Paris (except for Israel). The central part of this street seems to be L'As du Fallafel, with a constant line for take-out falafel and employees shouting, in typical Jewish custom, to get more customers. When ordering, they are astonishingly fast. From the time I gave him my slip to the time my falafel was in my hands, no more than 20 seconds had passed. For them, it's good because they can get through customers very quickly. For those who are new and can be picky (such as me), it's a bit disappointing. I can't do cabbage, so by the time I was up to order, my pita was already stuffed with it. Eventually I just let it go and gave the cabbage layer to my dad. Now, the falafels themselves are fricking amazing. Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside; just how they should be. The cucumbers are great, and so is their special sauce. I wish they would give some hummus and tahini sauce, but I can live without them. I'd have to say I've had better falafel in the U.S. and definitely in Israel, but this place tops my list for sure. read more
FOOD HEAVEN! The falafel sandwich is INCREDIBLE! We loved this place so much that we came back one last time before we left Paris. Make sure you ask for a side of their hot sauce - it's SO good! The service is awesome - all of the waiters were friendly and quick - including the bouncers, YES BOUNCERS, that manned the line out front! They have walkie-talkies - adorable! The restaurant is very busy, but they get you in and seated quickly. This is a must if you're in Paris! I'm literally day-dreaming about my next trip there, so I can have L'As, again! It's located in Les Marais, which was one of my favorite areas in Paris. You can enjoy a nice stroll after your meal. The area is really charming. After a looooong day of sight seeing, my husband and I were desperate for some good food and to rest our feet. Although extremely busy, the waiters were on top of everything and ran the whole restaurant smoothly. The food was good, but everything lacked a little salt and maybe more lemon or yogurt. Something to brighten everything up. Maybe my expectations were too high after reading Yelp reviews and the article in the New York Times, but I've honestly had way better. read more

Though L'As du Falafel is the mecca for falafels in Paris, I'll have to say that I'm going to throw a cat amongst the pigeons. I have been eating at L'As du Falafel since 2006, and one thing is for sure.. the quality has gone downhill. Though I have to give it to them for being able to queue up a line 30 people deep, and their efficiency, this review speaks of the food and environment. The last time I sat down in the restaurant to eat, I kid you not, I saw a mouse scurrying around the restaurant floor. True this might be common in a lot of restaurants, but not something you want to see while digging into your falafel. The last time I brought some friends there, all three friends got horribly sick that night. I was the only one without stomach pains; perhaps the extra chili sauce on my falafel helped kill off whatever was making them sick. Definitely check out this place to see what the hype is all about, and then draw your conclusions. read more
oh man, seriously the BEST fallafel I have ever had. So the rumors are true! The size is huge and will definitely fill you up. Can't beat the price. The only reason I've given a 4 star rating is there is no where to sit if you purchase the fallafel outside. If you want to go inside the restaurant where there are tables, they basically charge more for the same fallafel - a premium for sitting down. The fallafel is so big and there is so much sauce that its really not that mobile - its not like you can eat and walk around with it. So you just get a bunch of people standing around the restaurant trying to juggle their bags, fallafels and drinks. At least put some high-tables outside so people can put their drinks down and enjoy the experience. Nevertheless, this is a must-try in Paris! read more

A stop at L'As du Fallafel is a must when in Paris. When I first approached and saw the line, my heart sank. But, I soldiered on and got in line. A man was taking orders so that when you go to the window all you had to do was give them your ticket. I got my falafel spicy. It was outstanding. The grilled eggplant was a nice touch and delicious. The falafel were perfect - crunchy on the outside, salty and chewy. The cabbage, cucumbers and tomatoes added nice crunch and texture to the sandwich. The spicy sauce was fantastic as well. By far, this was the best falafel I have ever had! read more
The wait time when I went was not nearly as bad as how people usually make it out to be. The options are great for vegetarians and vegans, seeing as you can have tahini instead of yogurt on top. Wow. I'm ordering Jewish cuisine in Paris, France. This is my sister's favourite place for a quick, simple, and affordable meal. I ordered fallafel Special which is a vegetarian wrap. The wrap is huge and it's packed with chopped up vegetables and falafel balls and it's covered with a North American style salad type of sauce. So, I tried my first bite, wow, it's packed with flavour. Well, the ranch salad type of sauce really brings out the flavour and the vegetables and falafel balls brings out even more enjoyment to the mouth. For the price of a foot long Subway sandwich, you can enjoy something that taste even better. The neighbourhood where the restaurant is situated is old world beauty! Just watch out for the pigeons if you plan to eat outside! Note, expect to wait for 15-30 minutes in line just to get your falafel and there is a person who will take your order when you're in line. You'll have to hand over cash to him and he'll give you a order form where you'll present it to the counter. read more

I had just ordered a petit gelato from Amorino when a few friends asked if I wanted to join them in finding this famous falafel place! I quickly ate the rest of the gelato and by the time we walked over I was too excited to resist (and my mouth was watering from the overwhelmingly delicious aromas of the street). My friend and I split the falafel special, which is pita stuffed to the brim with their veggies, falafels, tomatoes, lettuce, and delicious grilled eggplant all topped with a great tahini sauce. It cost 6 euros, but was perfect to split between 2 people as a decent snack portion. There are 2 lines going into the restaurant. One line is for sitting in and the other is for a to-go option. The line goes by really quickly and of course the food is well worth the wait. When we ordered the gentleman taking our orders told us to go directly inside and get our food (like a Disneyland fast pass!!). I would highly recommend this place because it is a great change of pace from the typical crepes or baguettes that I've been having all week. I definitely will be returning a few times during the rest of my stay and am looking forward to trying their shawarma and fries! read more
I consider myself some what of a falafel connoisseur. This place has one of the two best falafels that I had outside of Israel. The falafel was perfectly spiced and moist on the inside, and it was perfectly round and crispy on the outside. It were as fresh as can be. The service was supper fast and friendly. We also got a plate of shawarma which was also very well prepared. The food wasn't heavy at all. Basically we visited little Tel Aviv in the middle of Paris. I know when you are in Paris you may want to indulge in French food, but you have to stop in for lunch to taste perhaps the best falafel that you will ever have a chance to have. Try for your self, and I'm telling you that you won't regret it. You can always finish your meal with a french dessert down the block just as we did. read more
Simply writing a review to say, YES, L'As du Fallafel lives up to the hype! I got a falafel pita while hubs got the shawarma and both were delicious. They were extremely generous with both the falafel (which is fried to perfection) and sauces. There was quite a long line, but we opted to get ours to-go so we had our pitas in hand and were on our way within minutes. If you're wandering around Le Marais, be sure to stop by for a drool-worthy and CHEAP lunch! read more

WOW, just wow. Hands down the best falafel sandwich I've ever had. And coming from NYC, I've tried quite a few. I think the genius comes from how they layer the ingredients into the pita alternating and repeating ingredients as they go, making a balanced flavor profile and HUGE pita! A good warning: all falafel places everywhere have some secret hell-ish hot sauce recipe, so make sure you only ask for a little bit, or else you'll be teary-eyed and full of regret within seconds..I've seen it happen to countless tourists. This is a classic example of how even though every copycat falafel place on the street claims on their sign that they're the 'best in the world'....you should always believe the one with the massive line. I went to that falafel shop on my last trip to Paris in June. A friend of mine suggested that falafel shop because it's famous for having the best falafel in Paris and everybody goes there. I had a classic Falafel with vegetables. There was a little bit too much sauce on it as you can see on the picture. Was definitely a good falafel but not the best. The price was 4.50 Euro and definitely worth it. read more

When I was reading the reviews talking about getting falafel in Paris, I thought it was strange. But the reviews were so great that I just had to try it out during my trip to Paris. This place did not disappoint! I don't typically like falafel but this THE best falafel I've ever had. I went around 4pm and there was still a line; it was probably the only falafel restaurant in the area with any business. We ordered the falafel and shawarma. For €6, these are huge! It's packed with lettuce, tomatoes, eggplant and meat/falafel. The sauces are also amazing - I just wish they would've put more spicy sauce on mine. Overall, this is definitely a MUST try in Paris if you have the time. There was cars that parked in the middle of the road just to pick up a falafel! read more
Beast of a falafel! The vegetarian falafel sandwich $6 was loaded with a nice variety of veggies and at least 5-6 falafel balls. The sauce is delicious and the hot sauce isn't too spicy so make sure you pile it on. We waited about 20 minutes in the to go line on a Sunday around lunch time. Definitely worth the wait. They accept credit cards inside the restaurant after you've ordered on line. We also got a side order of fries for $3 which came out piping hot. The fries were a sizable order but they were dry (no salt or sauces provided but we should have asked). I would highly recommend this place while in Paris! read more

This place serves up some seriously fantastic falafel. I haven't yet had the privilege of eating falafel in Israel, but I've tried all the major places in NYC (Taim, Maoz, Halal Guys, etc) and L'as du Falafel is pretty comparable. My mom and I split a platter and it was more than enough food. The falafel balls themselves were fab, but my favorite had to be the eggplant. It was cooked my favorite way - sort of charred - and I could've eaten a plateful of it. The food comes out extremely quickly, and there was no line on the mid-November night we chose. Yes yes. Line is long but it moves quick. Once you order wait is almost non existent. Street it is on and those around are charming (old jewish neighbourhood). The people operating the business are very friendly. The food is tha BOMB. And cheap. Although I wouldn't mind paying extra. Because it is the BOMB. I got the falafel pita to go at 22:47PM, 5 minute wait, 6.5 euros, fresh veggies, warm pita, perfectly crispy yet moist falafels and huge portions. Ask for the spicy sauce. read more

As recommended by Lenny Kravitz! Just so you know it's good. The world renowned L'As du Falafel is not be missed; as for us, we merely stumbled upon it since it was right in the Le Marais neighborhood where we were staying. The sandwich is perfectly delicious, and covered in amazing dual white and red sauces. One of their famous falafels may be more than enough, but when you see their other meat options, you'll want to dive in for more. For quickest convenience, grab a falafel to go and take a walk down the Rue de Roisers to check out some of the other food establishments. But trust me when I say that none of the other places come close to tasting as good as L'As du Falafel. We had the personal experience. read more

ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! We visited from New York City and have had lots of falafel and shawarma in the U.S. I was absolutely impressed by the food here. It was perfectly seasoned, cooked to perfect tenderness, the portions are large, the staff is very nice and accomodating, and the environment is really nice. We came in and were seated right away, the food came out really quick, and the waiters were very helpful. Overall, I very highly recommend coming here. read more
