L'As du Fallafel is a lively, always-buzzing spot in the Marais and easily one of the most popular street food stops in Paris. We tried the chicken shawarma, lamb and turkey shawarma, along with their house hot sauce, fries, and an Israeli beer. Everything hit the mark--the wraps were packed, juicy, and easily among the best we've had anywhere. The chicken shawarma in particular stood out for its flavor and freshness, while the hot sauce added a great kick without overpowering the food. The fries were simple but satisfying and worked perfectly alongside the wraps. The atmosphere is fast-paced and energetic, with a constant mix of locals and tourists, and it's usually packed, which adds to the experience. Service was friendly despite the crowds and the quick turnover. A must-visit for anyone craving a generous, flavorful, and satisfying falafel or shawarma experience in Paris.
Had some amazing French restaurants while in Paris, but this cute, casual place has them beat. Still dreaming of L'As du Fallafel and their perfectly crispy falafels and creamy hummus. The portions are generous and I recommend sharing a plate or pita with someone because it's a lot! Great place to stop by after a day of shopping. No wait for our party of 8 despite the very limited seating (they gave us two tables of four) because it was 3pm in the afternoon.
Incredible Service, incredible food. The nicest men waited on us perfectly. Food is yummy and authentic. Had the falafel wrap. Ohhh so delicious.
Best Fulop and Paris highly recommend going to this place. We came here because my mom had been here in the past. It's an amazing blend of cultures. You see people from all over the country. All religions dining in one place just to have great food.. We had the falafel sandwich which was phenomenal crispy with the pain is from the pickles that was perfect. We also have a Shawarma plate that was immensely tasty a great amount of food. I particularly loved the cabbage salad. The staff is extremely friendly informative made you feel like you're at home. You can take the food to go or eat there. I highly recommend coming to this place. Whether you're in the neighborhood room for a destination to come if you're in the neighborhood or make it a destination for the incredible friend in the shopping in this neighborhood both vintage and otherwise it's truly outstanding. One of our favorite areas in all of. Paris.
Famous falafel spot in the Marais. There was a bit of a line right when they opened but they're efficient about it. We split the Falafel Signature sandwich and it's tasty. The Falafel balls were crispy and fresh. I loved the addition of roasted eggplants and the spicy sauce added a nice kick to the sandwich as well. Not the best I've ever had but a fun snack nonetheless.
VEGAN REVIEW My friend recommended this place vehemently & I was a little like... what's the big deal, it's falafel... YOU GUYS IT IS SO DELICIOUS The falafel is perfection, as are all the side dips, salads & breads. As someone who goes to Paris quite often, I am always on the hunt for some new places to eat at. I stumbled upon L'As du Fallafel, and this restaurant had some delicious dishes to try! It is a very busy spot, so finding a seat can be quite difficult. But the service is really fast and the servers are also very kind. Prices do differ if you want to dine in vs take out. Now on to the food, the falafel plate is delicious and with the portion sizes are big so can definitely be shareable! The sandwiches are very fresh, have great flavour and its just packed with so much ingredients! 9/10 recommend!
We made a stop here for a late night snack, I was excited to give them a try after seeing all the raving reviews. I decided to order the Falafel special, which comes with falafel, veggies, eggplant, tahini sauce, and hot sauce in a pita. The pita was packed with everything and I really liked the falafel, it was very tasty and cooked perfectly. The hot sauce also had that spicy kick that spicy lovers will enjoy. The tahini was just okay though, I felt like I had better tahini at other places in the states. Overall, the falafel pita was pretty good, but the tahini brought it down a little bit. Compared to other places I've been to in the states, I felt like the white sauce wasn't better. With that in mind, it's still a pretty good spot to get your falafel fix in.
I mean, yeah come on. The food is phenomenal. Not a long wait, great service and staff who keep the line moving. Very authentic and a great mix of textures and flavors. Tried the lamb shawarma and falafel pita. DELISH
While waking around the old Jewish quarter our local friend suggested we come here to get takeout and go eat in a nearby park. We were told they usually have a long line but it wasn't bad that day. We got a bunch of schawarmas and fries - all quite delicious and for Paris a 15 euro schawarma with juicy tasty meat is reasonable. They have seating inside but on a nice day the hidden gem of a park just a few steps to the right of it is a much more pleasant venue.
Not my first time dining here; it's a must do each time we are in Paris. Don't be dissuaded if you see a line at the door, it moves quickly. I adore their food and so does everyone else as it's always filled with locals! You may consider sharing a few things because portions are large.
The first time we came here, my family loved it. We came in the winter and it was the perfect hot meal and the falafel was super crispy. Now, two years later, we came back and felt that it was alright. There are always lines but it goes relatively quick. The falafel is probably the best falafel we've ever tried, but the shawarma in a pita was ok and the rest of the veggies and sauces in the falafel were not the best we've ever had (best meat in pita we've had is Falafel Stop in northern california).
By far the best falafel in the world (and yes I've had a lot of falafel in the US and internationally including Egypt). Absolutely incredible. Quick service even if you are waiting in line to sit down (wait is usually 20 minutes or less). The guy writing your name down is hilarious and fun. If you don't want to sit down there is a to go line that is quick. The restaurant itself is like a fast food seating with basic chairs and tables that is semi clean. Service is definitely very quick. The food is absolutely amazing. The hot sauce is fantastic. The veggies are fresh. I could eat this everyday. I'm so sad it's in Paris and would love for it to be in the USA It is a must go otherwise you didn't do Paris right! Scrap the Michelin stars and go here

My first time ever having Fallafel and I was lucky enough to try it from L'As du Fallafel! My roommate and I walked up to the door area and the guy asked if we wanted it for take out or to-go and showed us which line to get into. I wanted to pay with card so the guy directed me to go inside. The cashier could tell that I definitely didn't speak French and I wasn't from around the area so he asked me where I was from and we chatted for a bit and I told him it was my first time here and he turns around and grabs a small sample cup and fills it with the homemade lemonade and says I have a surprise for you!! I was so shocked!! But I couldn't leave my friend hanging outside with no lemonade so I shamelessly asked him, "what about my friend?!" And he was soo nice and he turned around and filled up another small cup and handed it to me with a big smile. I walked out of the store with two cute small cups of lemonade and everyone waiting in line salivated as they stared at me. In terms of the food, I don't think I can give a good review because I'm a really picky eater so I wasn't really diggin' all the veggies. I took everything out... no sauce, no spicy sauce, no eggplants, no tomatoes no purple or white veggies. Just the pita bread and chicken. I was quite happy but I think everyone thought I was crazy. read more
By far one of the best dining experiences in Paris. Service was quick, nice and proficient, the food was amazing (the shawarma was fantastic) and the atmosphere felt like the Kosher restaurants at home. The place is always packed, yet they make it work to sit and serve anyone that comes through the door. The staff are friendly and overall will come again! read more

Phil told me to go...you know the one from Netflix. Well he was right and I told the guy, "Phil sent me" and he knew what I was talking about. Took my order and spoke English fine. Ordered the falafel because that what Phil said, and it was good. Got all over my face and hands, the napkins was not enough. So finished that and drank my Orangina. Waited and people watch, then went for the Schwarma. Also juicy and hearty with enough meat, sauce and veggies. Finished that off with a sprite. Satisfied and went back to hotel. This place is as good as they say. Not much else I can add to the other 270 reviews here, but I can say it's fantastic. My wife and I went twice during our week in Paris. Just a note - you can get sandwich to go or sit down. We went early both times and didn't have any wait at all. Very friendly service. The eggplant is amazing! read more

The BEST falafel I've ever had... ever. Words can't even begin to describe, so I won't even try, but trust. The owner was nice and let us sample it while we were in line. So fresh, portion was huge, price is alright. You have to pay extra to sit inside, so we opted to get it to go and found a nearby outdoor courtyard to eat in. read more

My daughter's French teacher recommended "the green falafel cart" and we we're happy to find it just a few blocks from our Air B&B in the Marais. The line was long, but an employee was on line taking orders so it was quick to get to the window. Be sure to look up from your phone to watch the cooks prep your order! I had the famed falafel, which was delicious with a perfectly crunchy exterior and almost creamy interior. The salad was crunchy and tangy. I'm not a fan of eggplant, and I'm still not. But after discarding the aubergine I was able to thoroughly enjoy the sandwich. The put a was spongy and fresh, unlike anything I've had in Colorado, even at our most popular Middle Eastern restaurants. My daughter got the meatballs, which she said was delicious took. Be sure to grab a fork, and to add the cironade to your order. So yummy. read more
No line at 12pm! I personally enjoyed the other falafel place better- ma bi van be their falafels are bigger, but my husband liked this place more.... He said the falafel was spiced a bit better here, and he also likes the tatziki sauce and spicy sauce here more. Who doesn't love a good falafel?! If you're in Paris and you like falafels, you must come here! I'd recommend dropping by for a quick lunch/dinner. When we arrived, the queue was about 20-25 people deep but we weren't standing in it for more than 10 minutes. They're extremely systematic about their queuing system which is great. They come to the back of the queue, take your order/payment, and direct you to the appropriate window. The portions are extremely generous, and each pita comes with cabbage, tomatoes, yogurt sauce, lots or falafel, and lots of egg plant. I thought the falafel was very tasty, but it was extremely salty. A little less salt and I would consider this a 5-star falafel. read more

Only 4 stars because I got the shawarma vs the fallafel...I really wish I got the fallafel but thought I needed something more substantial to make me full. There are two locations along this cute alley/street with sit down and a little outside take-away kitchen to help the lines. I'd suggest to use Euros as it'll be faster than using your card. My sandwich was still great, not as good I imagine as the fallafel but good. It was easy to eat while walking with a fork then eating the whole sandwich once it was a bit emptier; perfect on the go snack/meal. I opted to sit on a little stump and people watch the people and tourist of Paris. That alone was a fun experience. Def worth a try and next time I'm getting the Fallafel which is very affordable too! read more

This is a well known spot in Paris for falafels and gives Maoz in the Latin quarter a run for its money. The is usually a line to be seated in the peak time. The place is crammed, but the atmosphere is good such that you enjoy the meal. It can get loud at times and the upbeat techno music adds to the mood. MOST OF ALL, THIS PLACE IS ENGLISH FRIENDLY. I had the falafel pita sandwich and a side order of falafel. The side order is a must try. It will give you an appreciation for freshness and crispiness of the food. read more

One of the best things I had since I got to Paris, the fallafel is sooooo good! Totally worth it, even though there's always a long queue the waiting it's not that long, I waited like 8 minutes max. If you are here, you should definitely go and try it, also it is not expensive, the fallafel was like 6.50 euros and the fries (very large portion) was 3 euros. read more

Wow. The falafel was amazing. My fiancé and I heard that these were the best in Paris so we had to try it for ourselves and they did not disappoint. Amazing, flavorful, and the falafel to the max inside the pita sandwich. If you are in the area need to stop by and have a bite. I came . I ate . I'm full . I got the ten felafel in a pouch with the garlic and harrissa sauces . They were delightful and little bite sized . The sauces were amazing . I saw people leaving with sandwiches that looked incredible . The restaurant was packed so instead they have a walk up window , where a nice gentleman will take your order and then u pay when u get your food . I'm coming back. read more

Some may say it's over hyped but to us it was so good and if you're in the area, definately worth a visit. We were visiting Nortre Dome when we decided to stop by. It was about a 15 minute walk and we arrived around 2pm. There was a line for both take out and sit down and we decided to go with take out as we were told it would be a ten minute wait. The staff are super coordinated and will take your order and payment while you're waiting in line so your food is ready when you get to the window. I got the falafel and my husband got the shawarma and both were fantastic. We got them both spicy which means it comes with a red hot sauce on top (see pic). There weren't any close places to plop down and enjoy the food so we walked and ate. Again highly recommend. You won't regret it. P.S. get the lemonade. read more

Roaming around Europe for weeks, I was really craving familiar food and people. I also was really curious to see the Jewish quarter and I was really impressed by how classy it was. The people that run this place are all cool. Their service is great and while they do make a good shawarma, their falafel shines. Everything is made very well, it is fresh and plentiful. Pricing is kind of high, but then again, you always got to pay the kosher tax. It's the name of the game. Seating is not so comfortable and cramped but I'm not going to knock them down on being very popular and trying to accommodate everyone who want to eat here. read more

Yum. Really good falafel from a bit of a hole in the wall. These guys are the Kings of Parisian falafel apparently. Line was very quick and efficient and I only paid 8 euros. They put a nice spicy sauce on my pita and gave me two napkins and a plastic liner to keep the mess down. Thank god I picked up a fork too. I ran off to find a place to eat and had to keep shooing away fat aggressive pigeons hungry for my food. read more

We absolutely loved lunch here. Short wait outside on a cold January day went quickly. We ordered the hummus and falafel plate to start, which was beyond delicious. Some of the best you'll taste anywhere. The hummus is really creamy and well-seasoned, and the falafel is crunchy but not at all dry, and also quite delicious. The red pepper relish is also quite good. The hummus sandwich was incredible. A perfect mix of the aforementioned crunchy falafel and crunchy vegetables and creamy tahini. Small jars of red and green hot sauces are on the table for those who need/want them. The green is good and packs a hot punch. Great all-around experience. I've never had a Falafel sandwich before I came here and I'm really glad this was my first. However I'm not sure if another Falafel sandwich can live up to this masterpiece. My wife's cousin who has spent a lot of time in Paris recommended this was the one place we try. When we walked up there was a line down the street. You can either wait to be seated inside or there is a fast moving takeout window. We decided the expedited option of going to the takeout window. There was a language barrier but the guy behind the window knew what we needed. It was like food telepathy. They also gave us some Falafel to try (deep fried garlicky chickpea ball) to eat while we waited. The Falafel sandwich is made with their delicious pita bread along with salted cucumbers, hot sauce, tahini, pickled red cabbage, fried eggplant and hummus. It's really an amazing sight and very very delicious. On this busy pedestrian street there is really nowhere to eat your sandwich but you could see folks tucked away in random doorways trying to get down on their sandwich. I guess that part adds to the experience as well. This is definitely a culinary gem. read more

Advertised as some of the best falafel in the world, L'as Du Fallafel is oft-lauded. So amidst of a bevy of multi-course meals in Paris, we were excited to try a "lighter" lunch comprised of their special pita sandwich and their falafel. Located in a quaint cobble-stone area fives minutes from the Saint-Paul Metro, it's hard to miss. Just go to where the long line is queued up. Pro-tip: While the line for to-go orders of falafel are typically long, the wait for a table inside the restaurant is much shorter. In fact, we were seated right away. There's a reason for this though - getting your orders to-go net you a price point that's typically a euro lower. Inside though, there's plenty of seating and plenty of patrons enjoying the falafel on offer. They've got two spices on offer - a hot red chili, intense with garlic flavor. There was also as a lighter green chili blend if you're not looking for that intense garlic taste. Pita Several soft, pliant, fresh-made pitas were on offer, easily enjoyed with some of the hummus we ordered as well as the aforementioned spices. Israeli Plate [9.50 Euros = $12.19] Hummus, tehina, falafel Do try their Israeli plate, which showcases several of the crisp falafel, hummus, and a red pepper paste. The creamy hummus was redolent with sesame-tehini flavor, with actual sesame seeds studded throughout. The red pepper paste had great flavor, with small onions minced throughout. But the true star? Obviously those crispy nuggets of falafel - incredibly soft and moist inside. It's not overpowered with seasoning - just right. Delicious. Special Falafel Sandwich [8 Euros = $10.27] Hummus, Turkish salad, eggplant But on to their prize plate - the special falafel sandwich. A soft, fluffy pita housed creamy eggplant, lent some nice texture and flavor. There was also some of that great falafel. It's all covered with a creamy tahini sauce and crunchy Turkish salad, with cabbage, cucumber, and tomatoes for some acidity. I could have eaten two to three of these alone. Lamb Schawarma [10.50 Euros = $13.48] I went with the lamb schawarma though - and I'm glad I did. The tender lamb was in incredible - not at all gamey and not overly grassy. Even the GF enjoyed a bite, which was surprising. This had a creamy cabbage slaw that helped to lend some freshness to the heft of the moist lamb. Having now enjoyed the falafel and the lamb schawarma at L'as du Fallafel, I know why this place is praised by so many. It's now a must stop for me anytime I'm in Paris and highly recommend you check it out! read more
THIS PLACE IS REALLY OVERHYPED FAM. It's good but not any better than any other Fallafel place. I would make a special trip just to go here if there is some place closer to you. We got the lamb and turkey shawarma in a pita and the Fallafel plate. The first issue is it crazy overpriced, 16 euros for some Fallafel is crazy but I stuck with it so I can try out the hype. The pita was good but once again not sensational. Tastes exactly like what you would expect it to. The Fallafel was ok, honestly I've had way better. The hummus that came with the plate was pretty bland and although there were two types, they both tasted the exact same. The house hot sauce was bomb though, I'll give them that. It literally made everything taste better. Points for great service but really don't waste your time going out of your way to go here. It's not worth it, not even a bit. read more

Life. Changing. Fallafel. Okay let's be real here - I squirm uncomfortably at the mention of vegetarian dishes. I have carnivorous tendencies so I didn't even order the falafel when I came here. I didn't realize this was a HUGE mistake until my oh-so-gracious friend and let me try a bit of hers... it was SO TASTY! Honestly, it tasted like a really well made meatball, which is impressive considering that it's just chickpea. Moist, flavorful, and so amazing in the pita sandwich! The line was long when I came here for dinner on a weekday evening, but the service is really fast. Also what I love is that this place is so much more affordable compared to all your other dining options in Paris! It's a must try! Bottom line: GET THE FALAFEL. HAPPY WALLET HAPPY BELLY! read more

Amazing food ! The menu is short and straight to the point. The line was short when I went and there was a gentle man taking orders and payment while we stood in line. I ordered the turkey shawarma which came in a pita with onions, tomatoes, hummus, eggplant , topped with two sauces. I DEVOURED the entire meal. It was 10/10. Zero exaggeration. I was so surprised.
