L'As du Fallafel is a lively, always-buzzing spot in the Marais and easily one of the most popular street food stops in Paris. We tried the chicken shawarma, lamb and turkey shawarma, along with their house hot sauce, fries, and an Israeli beer. Everything hit the mark--the wraps were packed, juicy, and easily among the best we've had anywhere. The chicken shawarma in particular stood out for its flavor and freshness, while the hot sauce added a great kick without overpowering the food. The fries were simple but satisfying and worked perfectly alongside the wraps. The atmosphere is fast-paced and energetic, with a constant mix of locals and tourists, and it's usually packed, which adds to the experience. Service was friendly despite the crowds and the quick turnover. A must-visit for anyone craving a generous, flavorful, and satisfying falafel or shawarma experience in Paris.
Had some amazing French restaurants while in Paris, but this cute, casual place has them beat. Still dreaming of L'As du Fallafel and their perfectly crispy falafels and creamy hummus. The portions are generous and I recommend sharing a plate or pita with someone because it's a lot! Great place to stop by after a day of shopping. No wait for our party of 8 despite the very limited seating (they gave us two tables of four) because it was 3pm in the afternoon.
Incredible Service, incredible food. The nicest men waited on us perfectly. Food is yummy and authentic. Had the falafel wrap. Ohhh so delicious.
Best Fulop and Paris highly recommend going to this place. We came here because my mom had been here in the past. It's an amazing blend of cultures. You see people from all over the country. All religions dining in one place just to have great food.. We had the falafel sandwich which was phenomenal crispy with the pain is from the pickles that was perfect. We also have a Shawarma plate that was immensely tasty a great amount of food. I particularly loved the cabbage salad. The staff is extremely friendly informative made you feel like you're at home. You can take the food to go or eat there. I highly recommend coming to this place. Whether you're in the neighborhood room for a destination to come if you're in the neighborhood or make it a destination for the incredible friend in the shopping in this neighborhood both vintage and otherwise it's truly outstanding. One of our favorite areas in all of. Paris.
Famous falafel spot in the Marais. There was a bit of a line right when they opened but they're efficient about it. We split the Falafel Signature sandwich and it's tasty. The Falafel balls were crispy and fresh. I loved the addition of roasted eggplants and the spicy sauce added a nice kick to the sandwich as well. Not the best I've ever had but a fun snack nonetheless.
VEGAN REVIEW My friend recommended this place vehemently & I was a little like... what's the big deal, it's falafel... YOU GUYS IT IS SO DELICIOUS The falafel is perfection, as are all the side dips, salads & breads. Dine in if you can, the menu is larger (plates & such) Service is SO FAST Lenny Kravitz loved this place, so you know it's good LOL
As someone who goes to Paris quite often, I am always on the hunt for some new places to eat at. I stumbled upon L'As du Fallafel, and this restaurant had some delicious dishes to try! It is a very busy spot, so finding a seat can be quite difficult. But the service is really fast and the servers are also very kind. Prices do differ if you want to dine in vs take out. Now on to the food, the falafel plate is delicious and with the portion sizes are big so can definitely be shareable! The sandwiches are very fresh, have great flavour and its just packed with so much ingredients! 9/10 recommend!
We made a stop here for a late night snack, I was excited to give them a try after seeing all the raving reviews. I decided to order the Falafel special, which comes with falafel, veggies, eggplant, tahini sauce, and hot sauce in a pita. The pita was packed with everything and I really liked the falafel, it was very tasty and cooked perfectly. The hot sauce also had that spicy kick that spicy lovers will enjoy. The tahini was just okay though, I felt like I had better tahini at other places in the states. Overall, the falafel pita was pretty good, but the tahini brought it down a little bit. Compared to other places I've been to in the states, I felt like the white sauce wasn't better. With that in mind, it's still a pretty good spot to get your falafel fix in.
I mean, yeah come on. The food is phenomenal. Not a long wait, great service and staff who keep the line moving. Very authentic and a great mix of textures and flavors. Tried the lamb shawarma and falafel pita. DELISH
While waking around the old Jewish quarter our local friend suggested we come here to get takeout and go eat in a nearby park. We were told they usually have a long line but it wasn't bad that day. We got a bunch of schawarmas and fries - all quite delicious and for Paris a 15 euro schawarma with juicy tasty meat is reasonable. They have seating inside but on a nice day the hidden gem of a park just a few steps to the right of it is a much more pleasant venue.
Not my first time dining here; it's a must do each time we are in Paris. Don't be dissuaded if you see a line at the door, it moves quickly. I adore their food and so does everyone else as it's always filled with locals! You may consider sharing a few things because portions are large.
The first time we came here, my family loved it. We came in the winter and it was the perfect hot meal and the falafel was super crispy. Now, two years later, we came back and felt that it was alright. There are always lines but it goes relatively quick. The falafel is probably the best falafel we've ever tried, but the shawarma in a pita was ok and the rest of the veggies and sauces in the falafel were not the best we've ever had (best meat in pita we've had is Falafel Stop in northern california).
By far the best falafel in the world (and yes I've had a lot of falafel in the US and internationally including Egypt). Absolutely incredible. Quick service even if you are waiting in line to sit down (wait is usually 20 minutes or less). The guy writing your name down is hilarious and fun. If you don't want to sit down there is a to go line that is quick. The restaurant itself is like a fast food seating with basic chairs and tables that is semi clean. Service is definitely very quick. The food is absolutely amazing. The hot sauce is fantastic. The veggies are fresh. I could eat this everyday. I'm so sad it's in Paris and would love for it to be in the USA It is a must go otherwise you didn't do Paris right! Scrap the Michelin stars and go here

Yes the hype is real, yes it is worth the line, no it is not just a tourist trap with mediocre food, yes you should get the hot sauce. The addition of eggplant on the falafel has shaken my world. I now firmly believe falafel should never be served sans eggplant --my meal from L'As du falafel was seriously the best. If you're there on a nice day, don't eat inside -- grab your falafel to go and find a nearby shady garden in which to enjoy the most amazing falafel you will ever eat. The tahiniest tahini I have ever tasted, the chewiest most perfect pita. Go! read more

I heard great reviews about this restaurant, and that it is a must try if visiting Paris. When I arrived to the site I saw the line was very long, however I could see people's enjoyment after trying it. I knew I had to give it a try, so I decided to stay. The line moves really fast, and it only took about 25 minutes. Well the wait was well worth it, I ordered the Falafel wrap and it was amazing. The bread was so fresh and soft, the falafel has an amazing texture and taste, the sauce was very smooth, and the spicy sauce (optional) had just the perfect kick to it. I definitely recommend this place. read more

After returning to this area in search of a different falafel place and finding that it was closed, we were lured into trying L'As du falafel from the large line and sample offering of their falafel. The pita was loaded with fresh vegetables and the falafel itself was probably the best I've ever had. Highly recommend but the large crowd outside would tell you that anyway. read more

3.5 stars, rounding down falafel sandwich is great, lots of falafel and veggies and sauce. the hummus was good too. very good price for what you get, especially in paris. but nothing tastes out of this world or special read more
Here's the thing when it comes to Falafels and New Yorkers - we have a ton of it, and frankly, there are as much variations to it than you can shake a leaf at. I eat alot of them, and I am partial to, oh...Mamoun's on Bleecker street in Manhattan. Why Mamoun's? It has alot going for it - crisp on the outside, soft and squishy on the inside, good balance of fats, spices and most importantly of all...reasonably moist. A good falafel should be moist even without a liberal application of tahini and veggies. It should also "play well with others" without canceling the flavors of the other constituents of the sandwich. You should still taste the tomatoes, the romaine lettuce, the pita and the infamous hot sauce in the wrapped package - not very big but it really shouldn't be. When served up at 10p at night it is the best booze cushion ever, and just as delicious sober. The $4.50 Falafel sandwich at Mamouns represent my idea of perfection (thus far) in falalel form. "But this is a review for D'as du falafel in Paris, which is 3650 miles away from Manhattan!". Yes, well, in order to give the Parisian falafel a fair run for its money I would need to give you a baseline to consider. I can tell you that I do not like the falafel sandwich at D'as du Falafel.. Let me tell you what else I didn't like about this place... a) Pushers/hagglers out on Rue de Roisiers - really, do I need to be corralled into a meal here? b) Slow service for a fast food product - I know they are French, but I don't remember Patisserie/Boulongerie Paul being this slow either. Okay, now back to the sandwich. Three major faults: a) The falafel balls are dry - I came here on a busy Wednesday evening so there's no way in hell these were pre-made. They were also flavorless - sticks out like a soft spongy chew-toy in my sandwich. b) It's a massive strata of ingredients so thick I cannot tell what's inside - They seem to pile it on with the fixins'. Red cabbage, pickles, massive hits of tahini, hummus, fried eggplants, tomatoes in addition to the falafel. At the end it feels like I am eating a pita bag of salad with some dried falalels thrown in for luck. c) Portion size - this is a bit ridiculous. I feel like a horse munching down a feedbag while fighting this sandwich, and I am doing this with the expectation that it would get better (hint: it doesn't). The pita got soggy really fast and it didn't help anyone out. If I came here after a few beers expecting a stomach sponge to help me ease on the upset...this is gonna make me puke up for sure. Conclusion: Yeah, Lenny Krevitz might like this place, but Lenny Krevitz isn't exactly known for his taste in food. Me? I would rather give this a pass and eyeball another busy looking place on Rue de Roisiers. Or skip this together and get a sabich (the classic Shepardic Jewish sandwich of fried eggplants, sliced hard boiled eggs, tahini, tomatoes, cucumbers on a pita)...that's what they eat in Israel these days. Or hey, I am in Paris - good food is everywhere (just not here). read more

We were craving Doner kebabs and as I reviewed on yelp found this place with highest ratings and amazing photos... worth the trip! And reviews well deserved! The shawarma sandwich was great and more than enough for one person. The falafels were great and the grilled eggplant appetizer was good, though wished it was hot fresh out of oven, it was slightly warm. All in all it was great and would recommend!! read more

This is a great fastfood restaurant. We tried the falafel sandwich which was really generous. This restaurant is very popular so it can happen that you have to wait a bit. They have a lot of tables. Attention, if you eat insisde, the sandwiches are 2 euros more expensive than in the take away line ! All in all it was delicious and we were satisfied. read more

This is a must try if you're visiting Le Marais. Don't let the long lines scare you, the service is very fast and the line moves quickly. If you're looking for a filling meal to bring on-the-go with you as you're exploring Le Marais, this is your spot! My boyfriend and I shared the fallafel pita sandwich because we weren't too hungry at the time, and we loved it. The sauce wasn't overpowering, but it was very flavorful and delicious. They give you a good amount of fallafel pieces and man are they good! They're perfectly crunchy and pair so well with the sauce. They also provide a good amount of veggies. Best of all, this place is inexpensive! I would easily recommend this little shop to anyone visiting the area. The 1,000+ reviews mean something!!! read more

I was told by another frequent traveler that this was the best falafel in France. They were probably right. L'As du Fallafel appears as a hole in the wall on a side street in Le Marais. They have your standard Middle Eastern fare - falafel, shawarma, etc. There's a constant line at the to-go window but they also have some seating inside. Everything is fresh, there's tons of potential toppings, and the portions are incredible - our falafel pita had 8 pieces and the shawarma pita was too big to hold. All the workers spoke passable English, likely due to this place's widespread popularity. Despite the definite awesomeness, it is still not as good as the King of Falafel truck in Astoria. I didn't realize how good that was until having even more great Middle Eastern elsewhere. So, if you can swing through Queens while in Paris...do so, then patent however the hell you did that. read more

Just went here for lunch. We planed to take togo but it was raining and cold so decided to sit and eat. Very well organized, 3 people were handling the line, without waiting long, about 2min, we got a table. Food is 1euro more expensive that takeout falafel. Many people seemed like order assiette de falafel but it looked huuuuuge so we just order falafel sandwice and shawarma. Both were very very good. I preferred the falafel one. We also drank isralien beer. All total was 22euro. It was like eating at montreal schwarts as a tourist :) It's worth a trip to this little jewish neighborhood. There are many other delis and shops around it and it's very short walking distance from hotel de ville and notre-dame! read more
After hearing that L'as du Falafel was supposedly one of the best falafel restaurants in the world, I knew I had to try it. We came upon a quaint French neighborhood, and instantly ran into the line of people awaiting the hot, fresh, falafel that had become a vision for falafel restaurants everywhere. Customer service was great as our order was taken and paid for while in line. Once in the restaurant we chose our toppings; thrown on by the efficient chefs, and walked out of the restaurant to eat outside. The falafel was incredible. The perfect amount of soft and crunchy, without the overwhelming taste of something being fried in oil. The eggplant, cabbage, hot sauce, and tzatziki sauce were very complementary toppings, helping to bring the entire dish together. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a great and quick falafel stop! read more

I can't really add anymore info from what other yelpers said, although I can say I'm still shocked to have seen so many people queue to get, in fine, some street food ! The taste, portions and variety were great, but I still think the prices were quite high for what it was.... A great place though ! read more

I had no idea about this place until a friend mentioned that a certain travel guide for Paris from Rick Steves apparently touted this place as the best falafel restaurant in the area. It was such a good idea to just listen to him and follow along because it really does live up to its reputation. One of the best full meals you can find in Paris only costs five euros here; I wonder whether it's a coincidence that it's so cheap, or they actually can make a good profit by selling at such a low price. Before you make your order, you'll probably have to wait in line for a while. You get to watch the guy making your falafel behind the glass in front of you scoop the vegetables and sauces into the pita before it's served to you, kind of like Subway but without the moving along a line part. The falafel is then wrapped up and handed to you in a napkin. Be careful, you don't want to eat those! Because eating it would otherwise be so messy, they do provide plastic forks for you to just eat them that way, although it kind of feels weird to be eating a sandwich with a fork. I don't even know exactly what they put in there, even though I've seen them put it all together. I've heard it's eggplants and some other stuff. But the blend of it is just perfect. I've hardly found anything in Paris that tastes better. The falafel itself doesn't really look that big, but it's surprisingly dense and you probably won't be left hungry after finishing. Hope you don't mind standing or walking around Le Marais while enjoying your meal, though. You might find your promenade through the fourth arrondissement accompanied by the filthy pigeons that for some reason pervade the streets here, although I don't suppose that's anything the store can control. Alternatively, you may elect to pay a few more euros to sit at one of the tables inside and admire the picture proving that Lenny Kravitz left his mark here. read more
I didn't come here on my first trip to Paris because I thought "It's just falafel, what's all the hype about? We have some pretty darn good falafels back in NYC." But after having so many people recommending it to me, I decided to give it a go on my second trip. This didn't blow my mind, but it did exceed my expectations. It is one of the better falafels I've had though. I had the hummus plate and shared the falafel pita sandwich and grilled chicken pita sandwich with my cousins. The falafels were slightly crispy on the outside but soft and flavorful inside. The hummus was delicious and fresh. Both the pita sandwiches were huge! They were filled with fresh toppings - crunchy cabbage, tomatoes, tahini. There wasn't much of a wait for sit in and the line moves pretty fast. It helps when the host is a friendly and hilarious guy! They also speak English and have menus in English. read more

The food here is out of this world. Totally worth the trek to the neighborhood and a perfect break from shopping in the Marais area. We arrived at 4pm and were seated at a table immediately. I got the falafel sandwich and my mom got the shawarma plate. Falafel sandwich (~8€) is a party of flavors. The texture of the falafel is on point. Crispy on the outside. Fresh ingredients for the perfect inner consistency. The sauces with the slaw marry the sandwich perfectly and it's all inside a cute and tasty pita. The pita is fluffy and has a great taste alone. The shawarma plate (~19€)is really a feast. Could honestly be shared. The portion is huge. I never had a turkey/lamb blend but it was great. Eaten alone it is lonely without a sauce but with added harissa or with any of the items on the plate then it's gold. The fries are perfect, crispy outside, soft potato inside. Medium cut. The salad comes with cucumber, tomato, red onion. There is also a side of cabbage. The hummus is good and the eggplant is like candy. They sell the red harissa sauce which makes a great souvenir. A small jar is 6€. They have their own recipe with their own logo on the glass jar. read more
I'm a big falafel fan and let me tell you - this place is incredible. From the shredded veggies & eggplant to the sauce and falafels themselves. This place is a hidden gem in the heart of the Jewish quarter! You can tell this is a huge hit with the locals, as the line goes down the street. You'll be waiting for at least 10 minutes, but it's well worth the wait! There are two lines, one for dining in & another for taking out, so make sure you get in the correct line! read more

Worth the wait! Yeah, the line sucks, but this is the best falafel I've ever had. A lot of food for a few euro. Definitely get the spicy sauce if you like it hot. The white sauce is spectacular as well. A can't miss if you're in Paris. read more

Nice and quick service! Language barrier not that big of a problem. Had the grilled chicken pita. It was enormous!! Loved the red sauce (told North African). The staff seemed to be quite cheerful. Luckily, I went around 11:30AM so not that many people. But when we finished around 12:30ish, people were starting to line up in front of the store, a testament to the popularity of this establishment. The service charge is included in the price when you sit down. The price inside the restaurant is different (more expensive to compensate for service charge) from the one displayed in the front of the restaurant (take away/takeout). I was so full from the pita sandwich. It was well worth it! Sauces were really good. When I got to the end of the pita sandwich, I taste the hummus, it was so smooth, nutty, and pleasant. So delicious!!! High praises!!! read more

The falafel here was so good! No wonder it's Lenny Kravitz's fave! This place was in the Old Jewish Quarter of La Marais, so there's lots to see while you sit outside at a table and eat your scrumptious food! If you don't speak French, that's ok since at least one person speaks some English and can help you with your order. read more

This is best place in world for falafel . It's a must to visit and if you love food and love to eat this is the best place for you guys. It's a small place not a fancy one but taste it's just so good.Be ready for a long queue waiting but don't worry you will get place soon. Their keema falafel is amazing and lamb shawarma it's delicious and so good in taste. read more

This place is a MUST visit when in Paris! It's supposedly the best falafel in the city and some would argue the best in most of Europe. Those are some strong words that I've read on other sites, lol! I will say that this falafel was absolutely delicious. I didn't try another falafel in Paris for comparison, but that didn't take away from the enjoyment I felt from eating this one or how tasty it was. We both ordered our falafels "hot" so they came with extra harissa. These "sandwiches" were HUGE! We didn't want to sit in what limited indoor seating they offered so we just found a curb nearby and sat with everyone else. I think it took me 15 minutes or so to eats this monster! And it messy and fun! I would take little nibbles and immediately reach for napkins to wipe off my saucy mouth. The tahini-based sauce and harissa are a killer combination. Besides the perfectly cooked falafel, the eggplants were one of my favorite components. NOMS! read more

Went here because a friend recommended it. We got turkey/lamb pita sandwich and a steak chicken (which is just chicken) pita, fries, added their red and green special sauce. Oh man.. mouth orgasm. Service was friendly and food was served super fast. And they take credit cards. Slightly hidden from main streets but very lively area. read more
