I normally don't write reviews, but I just had to for this one. My wife booked this place because it was supposed to be popular. But as I was reading the past reviews I told her maybe we should eat elsewhere. Well we ended up going and the reviews don't lie. 10 euros for bottle of water we had no other choice in getting. Food was ok but over priced. But the service is the worst. The server was extremely rude, rushed us through the entire meal, kept asking us if we were finished. But what made me write this review was when we got our bill. I was ok paying for the overpriced food I knew we ordered, but the server told us if we wanted to add tip. I looked at her and told her I thought tip is included and she told me no! I know she was lying but whatever, just shocked she would even ask in front of other people. So I told her to add 20 euros to the bill and she looked disappointed and practically just ripped the receipt from the machine and handed it to me rudely. There are plenty of other places in Paris to find good food worth the price, so don't make the same mistake I did coming here. read more

My favorite meal in Paris! Came here on my last night in Paris and fell in love. The atmosphere is very trendy, with well-dressed servers, and popular music. To start our meal we began with two signature cocktails; they were quite expensive (over 15 euros) but delicious for a special treat. Both our entries were perfectly portioned, fresh, and cooked to perfection. At the end of the night we splurged on two desserts, the chocolate cake and plate of fresh strawberries. Yum! As a side note, be aware that the prices of all dishes are pretty expensive so keep that in mind. Also, although the food was delicious I found the wait staff less attentive that I would have expected for such a high-end restaurant. For that reason, I'm giving it 4 1/2 stars. read more

Personally I thought it was okay. Service wasn't great, food was a bit overpriced for what you were getting. My wife loved her dish though, which was the the sea bass with Tom yum sauce/soup. Meal was delicious but the service ruined my whole day. They spilled coca colas all over my brand new white dress ($300 and one of a kind). First they didn't apologies, then they said they would pay me for the dress then they changed their minds and said they would pickup the dry cleaning and then they made us wait 30 minutes for a manager who said they would just only pick up the pill. So... this is where the stars all go when they come to Paris? I can understand that it's the place to be seen but don't go there for the food or the service. Maybe a coffee on the terrace on a lovely sunny day but I wouldn't recommend anything else. My friend and I were treated rudely from the start - when we wondered in asking if they had a spare table, they rudely informed us that you MUST book but then still managed to find us a table inside. We waited for a long time for the waitress to finally arrive and take our orders, then when we asked for a side of fries each and a side salad we were told we could only order one side each. When the meal finally arrived my salmon was overcooked and overpriced. The one good thing I can say is that the fries are fantastic... but that's about it. Its a nice place for dinner and enjoy the view of the Eiffel tour by night only if you sit outside and get the table with the view. This was one of my favorite meals I had in Paris!! We went for lunch and ordered some light tapas: tuna tar tar, spring rolls, and dumplings - all were SO delicious and would recommend. The star of the show was by far the lobster and French fries. Out of this world delicious! I also enjoyed the cucumber martini and of course the people watching. My wife, who is French, and I dined at L'Avenue 22 January 2014, Table 150 (upstairs). We had been shopping at all the stores along Avenue Montaigne and had bags of purchases with us in tow and did not have reservations. They acted as if there were not any tables available, but after a few minutes, we were accommodated. Hindsight! Wish we hadn't been!!! This ended up being a two hours lunch. About 10 minutes after being seated, our waitress arrived to take our order. Our order: sparkling water @ 7 Euros (.50); 1/2 bottle red wine @ 48 Euros; Tartare @ 35 Euros; and Turbot @ 43 Euros. Total for our lunch 130 Euros (service included). +/- 10 minutes later she arrived with our water and immediately poured it. We then noticed that it was not sparkling water and requested that it be replaced. She did, but with an attitude and returned about 5 minutes later with a beautiful bottle of 'Sparkling Water' which we needed after walking and shopping for several hours. +/-20 minutes later our wine arrived. +/+10 minutes later some bread arrived...PROGRESS!!! Another 20 minutes passed and our waitress was invisible and our food had not arrived. We flagged down a person who appeared to be a manager (?). He checked on our order and returned about 5 minutes later to tell us that the Turbot takes extra time. Si, Bien, pas la tartare,, servir, se il vous plait! Well, this went no where as another 20 minutes past with both dishes arriving together. We finished our meal and waited and waited for someone to come by as I waved my hand several times trying to get our bill. Oh, no one checked once to see if we were enjoying our food. It was quite good, but it was not on par with good quality Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washing DC, New York and/or Paris restaurants. We paid our bill and I started to leave an added token tip (usually leave 5 to 7%). My wife was not happy with the overall service and noticed that the other tables were experiencing similar service and they were not leaving added tips. So, we made the same decision. Last night we had dinner with my brother in law, his wife, their daughter and her husband, I discussed with them whether or not I should have left an added tip. They said, 'absolutely NEVER' with such service. They are French and live in Paris. read more

This place is perfect for people watching and taking a break after shopping. There is both indoor and outdoor seating and an English speaking staff. Food was good, we weren't too hungry after the flight over so we each just ordered an entree of shrimp risotto and it was delicious. The shrimp was slightly over cooked though, risotto was perfectly al dente and the crunch from the Parmesan crisp was perfect. Service was friendly and attentive enough. To break it down, it costed about $100 US for 2 entrees which is kinda pricey for a late lunch but we would definitely go back as the meal was very tasty, highly recommend read more

I visited this restaurant on 18 September 2011. Rather pricey even for Paris but does use natural/organic foods. The portions are modest in size especially for the cocoa and juices but you will not be disappointed. Friendly and efficient service though understanding of basic French will make the experience more pleasurable (go figure, it's in Paris). As for the clientele, usually you will see 2-6 people at a table conversing but not loudly like those in North America. The cafe is a little small but any seat has an excellent view of the street level shops. This is the cafe with the 4 ladies Carrie sees lunching (in the background, you can see the Canadian Embassy's flag, in the last episode of Sex And The City, Season 6, located within 3 blocks from the Eiffel Tower, the Hotel Plaza Athenee, and the Canadian Embassy as well as Dior. This is an interesting place. It is quite expensive. That being said the food is good. The servers are easy on the eyes and the environment is cool. We were able to get a table outside which was nice because the weather was fantastic. Our server was friendly and quite helpful. I broke down and tried the escargot. The texture is still a little off to me, but it tasted great. That may have been because I could only taste the garlic and butter, but either way it worked. The filet mignon was prepared properly and had good flavor. You can certainly get similar food for less money, but the experience makes this place worth the extra money. read more
