I've been a loyal Arc'teryx fan for decades, working outdoors year-round, but until recently there wasn't a local store nearby. Being able to try things on in person makes a huge difference, especially since sizing can vary depending on layering. The team here is always welcoming, helpful, and patient--happy to offer suggestions and grab different sizes without hesitation. The store itself is a bit "dangerous" (in the best way!) because everything is so well made and tempting for every season. Between their excellent warranty, trade-in program, and annual cleaning events, the value really stands out. If you want high-quality outdoor gear that lasts for years, this is the place to go. It helps eliminate any fitting room clutter. Two attendants at the registers w little to no wait. The North Face representative made it sound like they were doing me a favor. Next, I went on-line filled out the information and provided pictures of the broken zipper. After that, I received an e-mail from Jacob K. with the North Face Online Customer Care Team, asking follow-up questions and wanting more pictures. I promptly responded with answers to Jacob K's questions and provided the requested pictures, but since than there has been no response from Jacob K. or North Face. After several follow-up attempts, still no response. Apparently, North Face no longer cares about Customer Service. After decades of being a loyal North Face Customer, I intend to look someplace else for my outdoor equipment needs.

This place is huge and they have a massive inventory of all things sports related. It's nice that you can still walk into a place and touch and feel the merchandise you might be interested in. On this visit, it was to look for a youth softball mitt that I will be gifting to one of the grand-darlings. The last time I was in a DICK's, it was to buy a White Sox cap and it was a couple years back when they were doing a wee bit better than they are this year! The pricing here does generally seem a bit elevated but that comes with the brick-and mortar business and the privilege of inspecting what you're buying. Who remembers Sportsmart, or Sports Authority, or further back Herman's? They're all gone now, and I think DICK's is it these days for sporting goods. I'm glad they are still at it for us.

They had a good supply of youth size cleats, one of the items on our shopping list, and the girls also took the opportunity to do a mini shopping spree on some of their clothing and swim wear.  Thumbs up on the store and thank you!

If I find a club I need to fill a broken set, it is always priced too high (they are higher than any other Play It Again Sports (PIAS) by 20-500% for exact match club brands) and they are unwilling to negotiate a lower price except by less than 5%. By comparison to other Play It Again Sports - Shaumburg, Crystal, I was able to purchase the 2 needed clubs at 25% and 16% of the "negotiated" price of an identical club at the Waukegan Ave PIAS store. I do not recommend this store for any golf items. I will never again go to this store for any reason. It is not worth the trip (25 mi.) to waste my time. DB

It's a beautiful warm and humid day in Chicago and the walk was good. The place is very quaint and small but well lit for shopping. It's a woman's boutique specializing in European clothing. The major designer is Solar and I have not heard of it, but designs are suited for a dressier woman. Thankfully that counts me in as I work in an office where jeans are not allowed and it's conservative so the weekends I can go casual. Back to the store the sizes are European and the lady at the counter (I am assuming is the owner) was very kind to tell me that 34 is usually x-small, 36 is small and 38 is medium. I'm usually a medium but some of her clothing allow for a 34 when I tried on a pair of white slacks. It had a great fit, but buying white is difficult because the material may be more revealing than you might like. Her clothes has many price points as she indicated and sales from the previous season is 20% off. Her summer selection drove me to walk in full of blight yellows, pink, and orange. Do stop in if you're in the neighborhood and support local small businesses!
