My husband, toddler, and I made it to this restaurant for lunch on Sunday afternoon. Lots of seatings available. We ordered the baked mussels, garlic scallop, and several skewers (squid tentacles, pork belly, beef tendon, lamb, and enoki mushrooms). Baked mussels looked better than it taste. I didn't love the mussel itself as it was very thick and chewy. I was slightly disappointed with the garlic scallop since I read it as a top choice in the Yelp reviews. The flavor was good. I mean who doesn't love garlic? But the portion size was so small for the price... there was not a whole lot of scallop and there was vermicelli fillers underneath. Scallop naturally has a very mild flavor so the garlic didn't do it any favors in bringing out the taste. I definitely liked it because of the garlicky taste but wouldn't order this again. I am a HUGE fan of the skewers. I personally LOVE cumin so I was very happy with the flavors. Yes it's true the skewers can be seen as very one note due to the same toppings for all of it, but there certainly is a hint of difference in taste depending on the meat of choice and certainly the texture. The squid was much more chewy than I would've liked and probably wouldn't order this again. Loved the other choices of skewers though and honestly cannot pick a favorite. The pork belly was super juicy. The beef tendons was the most unique of all the skewers we tried because of the buttery texture. Lamb is always a must-have. Great food, good price, spacious, and overall attentive service. Came with a group of people and was able to try a decent variety of items. Everything was well and strongly seasoned. Love the cumin lamb skewers - not too fatty but not dry. Shishito peppers are excellent, not spicy. King oyster mushrooms, cauliflower, and broccoli are good vegetable options. But in the end we always end up with tons of meat. Some of the negative reviews are because of the monotonous use of cumin and I actually agree. Nearly everything has a strong cumin flavor, some may even say overpowering. But I personally love cumin. They offer a somewhat unknown "VIP" program. There's nothing on their site about it and the menu isn't very clear what it is either, but the wait staff were helpful in explaining it and from what I gather, it basically functions similarly to that of a gift card with monthly rewards offers. They also have a second floor that you can book for parties. My star rating legend: 5: A+ Worth a special journey (ie. I would go out of my way, maybe even take a flight somewhere just for this; exceptionally amazing) 4: A excellent, a must try, solid place 3: B good; nothing extraordinary, but would definitely go again 2: C personally would never go again (unless invited by someone and I didn't get to pick the place), but I can see how others might find something appealing 1: Fail. Even though the menu said spicy, we opted for not spicy for the kids and they were super accommodating. And they comped us some taro chips. This place was awesome. My cousins walked around great neck looking for a place that could accommodate nearly 20 of us. We had kids ranging from age 2-16 and wanted space and good food. We took a chance on this because of the type of food it was, but it was a huge hit. The food- we ordered a TON of skewers. The spicy beef was my favorite. Well seasoned and so delicious- and though small, the price was very fair. Everything we ordered was really good- I'm still thinking about the skewers and it had been a month!!! The service was fantastic. We had food allergies and hungry kids running around and they were kind, patient, and all around accommodating. We got to use the entire 2nd floor and their Karoake system. So much fun! It was a little warm up there though because they had a little trouble figuring out their ac system since they just took over the space 10 days before. But they did everything they could to help. I would definitely recommend coming here- esp. with a large group. The bathroom downstairs was amazing- super stocked with extras. Our Global Committee from the Long Island Board of Realtors had a Lunar Celebration of the Dragon last Mon. Feb 12. It was my very first time eating there. The food was sumptuous and delicious. The service was excellent too. It was a self-service styled setup and there were ample amounts of varied types of dishes, some spicy and some not. The chicken dishes were superb. There was an amazing string bean dish with various spices that was fantastic. I believe there was some fish dish, I am not sure of the exact name, but that too was great. Pros: Tender juicy meats on sticks, great veggie selection, increased selection of skewers since grand opening, adaptable (can be no seasoning or oil), kids really seem to like it, noodles and rice dishes decent as well. I like how the restaurant operates at night time. The beef and beef tongue were the best among our order. The lamb was fine. I wouldn't order the tendon again because it was really hard to chew. The sausage was nothing special, so you can just skip it. read more

Usually have to venture out to flushing for bbq skewers. Was excited to have a skewers place closer to Long Island. Appetizers and stir fry dishes were all very good. Fried noodles and rice were perfect for the kids. All the skewers were fresh and perfectly grilled. Service was good. Food was a bit slow to come out even when the place wasn't very busy. This place is an awesome gem that definitely deserves more customers. Think Flushing or Chinatown late night spot comes to Long Island. Definitely bringing a new flavor to the area! Food was simple grilled or lightly fried asian style pub food. You can customize your spice level and there were plenty of veggie options. The ingredients were very fresh. Some seafood there was actually kept live and cooked to order (scallop and oyster especially!) For a place serving beer and skewers the cocktails were delicious and imaginative! This place opens late which is the best thing about it. This is expensive for the type of food they serve. 2 people came for a light snack and ordered some skewers and a drink, the bill came to $60. At night, the place is dimmed and didn't even look opened. They offer skewers that the Flushing street cart offers but not as good. The king mushrooms were sliced paper thin and then skewered. We ordered many different skewers and they all tasted exactly the same which is to say they all tasted like someone had accidentally spilled a Costco sized bottle of cumin on everything. We couldn't taste anything but cumin. I like a little cumin, but everything was pretty one note. I also found the prices to be high. They don't look so high because everything is individual, but it all adds up really quickly. I agree with one of the reviews, you can order as many skewers as you like but thy all taste the same, which is not a bad thing if you like cumin. Everything is individually priced so it looks very reasonable but you almost have to buy a bundle to satisfy your appetite then it really adds up. I normally order the chicken skewers then I decided to try the shrimp skewers. To my surprise, you only get a medium size shrimp with the shells and head on in a stick! When you think that you can buy a pound of shrimp head on for $5.99 and you pay $3 for a shrimp on a stick, that's highway robbery! This place is extremely overpriced.
