It's been a few weeks now since my visit but I can still remember and taste the fresh ingredients. It's a small shop in del ray but with plenty of seating inside and outside. The staff and extremely friendly. They were so welcoming and really patient with us as we had lot of questions. Even gave us a sample of their lemonade which was refreshing and so delicious had as craving more! Complimented the food so well. We all were so full by the end of our meal but wish we didn't so we could have more. You can tell everything is made in house with so many veggie toppings which I love!! You can get as much toppings as you want, either into a wrap, bowl, or salad. 10/10 recommend!! We also tried the cookies. She said to give them 6 or 8 minutes (can't remember) and they will be ready. Cookies are fresh fresh and always warmed up per order. They were perfect. If you go to their website they have a rewards program check it out first!!
This Mediterranean spot is a little out of the way in Del ray, but worth the visit. You get a generous chipotle-style bowl of delicious Mediterranean food. I like the chicken better than the gyro and then you get unlimited toppings, but my favorites were the cucumber, tomato salad and all of the pickles. They have a bunch of tables inside and a nice small patio in the back and tables out front so you have plenty of options to sit and enjoy your meal. Service was pretty quick and the french fries I got were made to order, hot and fresh!
We had spent the day in DC and wanted something healthy to eat while we are traveling. La'Balk was the answer. The staff was wonderful so nice and helpful. Answering all or our questions and offering us samples of their tea and mint lemonade, It was similar to Cava but with more authentic Mediterranean choices for toppings. I ordered the chicken in a salad bowl with just about all their toppings. My husband ordered the lamb (gyro meat) bowl with the basmati rice. They did not skimp on the helpings (neither one of us could finish our servings). We both really enjoyed our meals. We both also got the mint lemonade which was very refreshing. Their was plenty of seating inside and out (in front and back). It was clean including the bathrooms.
This is my second time here and it reminds me why I went back. This place is so neat and organized. The staff were straightforward with their service and so nice. They have indoor and outdoor seatings. The menu offers outside the bowl they have desserts and also drinks. I ordered gyro bowl with Cucumber Lemonade and it's the best partner! Gyro was moist and all the added stuff tastes fresh. Of course will go back again to try other food in the menu. The only thing you need to consider the parking. This place is so good that it could get packed especially weekends and dinner time. It is somehow close to the King Street Station but it's still quite a walk.
Been here a few times now and I can not get enough of this place! The food is always so fresh and delicious. I usually dine in but I had takeout this time and even then the food was perfect once I made it home. Must get: lemonade!! The service is always 10/10. The staff is always cheerful, nice and attentive. The location has always been clean and it's a great spot for a quick lunch/dinner. My parents were visiting from it of town and my mom absolutely loved it! Can't wait to bring her back.
We love this place! We've eaten here a few times and it's always incredible. Employees are always super friendly and attentive. I also go for the gyro wrap with loads of toppings. I love all the options and sauces! Great for dine in or take out.
So, I've been avoiding this place because it's tagged under shwarma, and I'm thinking it's going to be like Halal Guys or like the Middle Eastern version of Chipotle. It's not. It's quick, but the food is really high quality. Everything is made with care, and the staff are warm and helpful. The portions are hearty and the flavors are excellent. I got the lamb beef gyro pita shrak wrap and a cake with candied orange slices and pistachios. Both were really excellent. I was sad that Stomping Ground went the way of the dodo, but this is a fantastic replacement. If you've been hesitating to try it, don't! You won't regret it.
Absolutely loved this spot. It was my first time and the guy helping me recommended what would go well as toppings for my falafel pita wrap! He was so nice and helpful. The food was so yummy, huge portion and were tasted so fresh. The vanilla latte was delicious, too. The girl behind the counter was super sweet and gave great recs for pastries. The pistachio one was unreal.
Fresh, well flavored, amazing Middle Eastern food in the heart of Del Ray! This place is definitely one of the favorite neighborhood food spots- I can tell. Quick service, helpful staff, cute interior, and lovely outdoor seating as well! For my first time, I got the popular mint lemonade which is refreshing, delicious, well balanced, and worth the hype! Got a bowl and sampled all the meats, but honestly the falafel was my favorite! The chicken was my favorite meat- it had a good seasoning to it. I'll def be coming back for another bowl. Managed to find street parking but I'm sure parking can be tricky on weekends and peak times. WORTH IT!
I've been to this place twice now and it's pretty good. If you're in the middle for some Mediterranean eats, definitely give this place a try. The food is fresh and the customer service is pleasant as well. The employees are very helpful, so don't be afraid to ask questions or recommendations. On the particular visit, I had the bowl with shawarma chicken and a few other toppings. I will recommend adding their "Garlic Paste" to your bowl or wrap. It adds such great flavor to the food.
We ordered chicken shawarma wrap and bowl. Both were amazing. I especially loved the taste of rice. Chicken was well cooked and marinated. You can choose as many toppings as you like and they are all delicious. I also tried the famous mint lemonade and it is refreshing as its fame. Very tasty. Servers were kind and friendly. I didn't feel like I'm being ignored. Inside is nice ambiance. There are also sitting options on outside which is pretty nice in a good weather.
Absolutely amazing meals at La'Baik! The mint lemonade is a must try! It's perfectly tart and refreshing. The staff is friendly, the portions are big, and the food is delicious. So many options to choose from for your meal, and you're sure to leave full and satisfied. We've been to La'Baik multiple times and are sure to be back again soon!
I always feel compelled to try a place with 5 starts immediately! I'm so glad I did and I can attest for myself they absolutely deserve every star. It was my first time and the staff were absolutely amazing. They answered all my questions and let me sample the mint lemonade, which was out of this world good! The food was fresh and delicious and I cannot wait to go back.

I'm back here to say I've been back to labaik at least 10 times since my first review, and it only gets better!!! My 2 year old literally licks the plate. All the employees are very polite and kind, always serving with a smile on their face! Love this place, and have recommended to everyone I know in the area read more
What a gem! We stumbled upon this cute little restaurant while walking in the neighborhood. The place is very bright and nicely decorated. I got a rice bowl with the lamb gyro which was divine! The portion was very generous. My husband had the chicken and he liked the lamb gyro better. My 3 year olds devoured their gyro bowls as well! We ordered a side of falafels and those were a bit too greasy and not the best ones we've had, but the rest of the food made up for it. Their tahini sauce was a big highlight for us as well! The staff was extremely friendly and always checking in to make sure we didn't need anything! The only downside for us, as a family of 4, was the seating configuration. The tables are on the smaller side, and the legs of the tables makes it difficult to comfortable sit by the table when putting a couple of tables together. read more
Yum!!!! Get in your car or put on your walking shoes and go grab a bowl! I had the falafel and it was perfect. All the toppings are delicious and the roasted eggplant was so yummy! My boys all had the chicken shawarma and I snuck a bite... great! They even sent us home with free baklava that I haven't tried yet but am looking forward to! Came here with some friends for lunch - we weren't super hungry so my husband and I split a bowl. We got a chicken shawarma half grains, half lettuce bowl. The toppings were tasty - garlic paste, roasted eggplant and tomato Cucumber were a few. I thought the chicken was a little bland, and I wish they had more salad dressings versus dips to put on top. We got a hot mint tea and the mint was really tasty (tea was nothing special, a Lipton tea bag). Would come back and try something new! Service was awesome - everyone was friendly and attentive. Interior was nicely decorated. It was nice they had some big communal tables because we were there with our friends and two kids. read more

This place is similar to Cava, but so much fresher. They have great, quality food all at affordable prices. I chose the chicken shawarma bowl. The chicken was so tender and all of the veggies were extremely fresh. The rice was cooked to perfection. I also tried the baklava, which was a nice sweet treat. The hummus was super creamy and flavorful. The pita bread was fluffy and fresh. The service was extremely friendly and very efficient. They have some delicious looking breakfast menu items as well. I came here on a Saturday in July 2025, and had a five star, incredibly tasty and delicious falafel wrap. It tasted home made. What made it special was the home made super thin wrap itself which was crispy and toasted, as well as super fresh. The toppings on the falafels were plentiful and also homemade. The owner is super friendly and hospitable. We loved tasting the fresh mint lemonade and manakesh bread. The wrap was so good and huge that we split it in half... my sister had half and I had half. I honestly felt like this wrap was a literal party in my mouth. I would totally come back again. The location is in a cute area of the Del Ray neighborhood in Alexandria, VA. La Baik is an independent restaurant serving bowls of Mediterranean goodness. Similar to a popular Mediterranean chain you can select what you want in the bowl. On my visit the staff were friendly and there was plenty of seating. Those bowls come at a Del Ray cost but are good. read more
Stellar dinner on a quiet Friday night. We chose this restaurant based on all of the great reviews and we were not disappointed- the food was tasty and plentiful and the vibe was really friendly and comfortable. The vibe is a step up from cava/naf naf with some lovely additions to the menu and ingredients you're just not going to get at those other places. I got a salad base with the lamb and a mint lemonade. The bowl was solid but I would pass on the lemonade next time for the price (I don't have anything against it- just not a flavor I'm big on esp for the price). My friend from the dmv kept commenting on how nice the workers were- as a midwesterner it seemed pretty normal lol. The woman serving my bowl was really considerate and helped steer me on options since I don't love eggplant. Highly recommend. read more

Today was my first day in Alexandria, and I'll never forget the amazing meal I had here. The food was incredibly delicious, with unlimited toppings and generous portions. The price is unmatched! I ordered a bowl with half rice and half salad, topped with half meat and half chicken shawarma. I added hummus, roasted eggplant (which I've really missed!), cucumber pickles, a touch of garlic sauce, and finished it off with tahini on top. I also had a lentil soup that instantly reminded me of home. For dessert, I enjoyed their fresh homemade treat along with an espresso--perfect ending to the meal. This is definitely my top spot to eat in VA so far! Next time, I'm trying their falafel and roasted cauliflower. The staff were friendly and gave me great suggestions once they heard it was my first visit. Clean and nice tables inside and outside! Highly recommend! read more

The workers were very friendly and answered all my questions nicely regarding the menu and how to order. I got the gyro and chicken shawarma wrap with fries to share. The wrap was thin and crispy and not like a regular pita wrap. I will take this over pita any day! They also gave us baklava on the house which was so good we didn't need to go elsewhere for dessert. 10/10 recommend if in the area. read more

The food is amazing and as you can see the ambiance is so cute and cozy! Be careful with the toppings! They can make things too sour! It started with the falafel wrap. See below for the full story. La'Baik means, Here I am! At your service. Opened on March 30, 2024, this counter service restaurant serves a variety of Mediterranean dishes such as manakesh, shwarma, fattoush, falafel, grape leaves, baba ghanoush, and gyro. They have 15 toppings such as arugula, Mediterranean pickle dill, pickle turnip, Lebanese salad, sumac onion, hummus, roasted eggplant, tahini salad, crumbled feta, and 6 others. The sauces were pomegranate molasses, tzatziki, tahini, spicy cilantro, garlic paste, and Shat'ta. Shat'ta sauce is a hot red chile sauce. My wife and I got 5 items. 1) Fattoush A salad with diced cucumbers, lettuce, tomato, sumac, and oil dressing topped with pita chips. It had splashes of tartness from the tomatoes, which were marinated in a vinaigrette along with a low level of lemony tartness from the sumac. The chips were thin, crispy, and a bit oily with the flavor of typical pita bread. The dressing was bland. It needed herbs and more seasoning. This was basically oily fresh vegetables with a slight tartness topped with typical pita chips. 2) Falafel Wrap The falafel was crispy on the outside and crumbly on the inside. It wasn't mushy, which made it texturally pleasing. It was well-balanced with seasonings and quite flavorful. We got hummus, sumac onions, pickle turnips, Mediterranean pickle dill, tomatoes, cucumbers, tzatziki, spicy cilantro, and tahini. They were mild to moderate in flavor. Combined, they gave an overall flavor of sourness and saltiness. It needed some sweetness for balance, but none of the toppings had any sweetness. Be careful with adding too much pickled toppings and sumac onions! This occurred with the next 2 dishes because we added the same toppings. That's where we went wrong. The wrap was large, soft, moist, chewy, and looked homemade. It was grilled and tasted fine. 3) Lamb and Beef Gyro The meat was moist and tender with a light savoriness. It was steamed or boiled with no grill flavor. The herbs and seasonings were very mild. The toppings were the same as above, slightly sour and salty. We added only tzatziki sauce, no tahini, or spicy cilantro, which helped in reducing the tanginess. The wrap was the same as above. We've had better gyros at other places. Overall, it was okay. 4) Chicken Shwarma We added the same toppings as the falafel wrap, except we added Lebanese salad. The salad had the same vegetables as in the fattoush. So, this shwarma was kind of sour. The shredded white meat chicken was dry with little flavor. The toppings can be changed, but the chicken needs a lot of improvement. The wrap was the same as above. 5) Baklava Combo You get a choice of 3. They had regular, chocolate drizzle, pistachio, and cherry. We chose regular, pistachio, and cherry. Cherry was the sweetest with a flavor similar to diluted maraschino cherry. The pistachio baklava had a walnut flavor with a light amount of pistachio. They all had honey roasted walnuts and honey. The phyllo pastry was crisp and flaky. They were very good in texture. The pistachio and regular ones were just right in flavor. The cherry one was too sweet, and the cherry flavor was weak and artificial. The service was friendly, responsive, attentive, and polite. It doesn't get any better. The dining room and restrooms were clean. There was outdoor seating at the front and the back. There was a small free parking lot and street parking. The lesson we learned is that the food can be good as long as you don't put too many toppings that are pickled, have sumac, or are citrusy. It would be helpful if they balanced the sourness with enough sugar to take the edge off. Also, a number of the toppings and sauces are tart and/or sour. So, pick carefully. I lowered their rating for the awful white meat chicken and the flavor profile of some of their toppings. read more
The best falafel wrap I've had! I stuffed my wrap with cauliflower, veggies, arugula, onions and dips yet they wrapped it so well and everything stayed put..even after 40min! (I took it to-go) They also have a variety of sauces you can choose from (as a side to dip or spread on your wrap). I also got their baklava which was not too sweet and had a good honey flavor. Wish it had more pistachio but overall a tasty treat. The interior was also very cute and would love to come back for a weekend brunch date with the girls. This is my new favorite place in Delray. One day I was in the parking lot of cava and decided to search in yelp for a Mediterranean alternative and I'm so glad I did because I came across this highly reviewed restaurant. I was told by management that they had just opened 2 months ago and I was surprised to hear that because they're already a neighborhood favorite. They have everything from fresh eats to sweet treats! They even make lattes and delicious coffee too. Seating is not a problem here either, which is amazing! There's some seating outside of the restaurant and lots of seating inside to accommodate larger parties. Everyone was so kind, helpful, and welcoming. Please visit them today! read more

LaBaik is a place I will be going back to again and again. the food was delicious, the ambiance delightful and the staff kind and helpful. we got the falafel and chicken shawarma wraps. The topping are plentiful and so well done, make sure to get the pickled turnips and sumac onions!!! The mint lemonade was surprisingly good. the attention to detail, like grilling our wraps to create crunch, was very much appreciate. read more

This was our first time at La'baik. The service immediately upon entering was hospitable and spoke to the nature of our overall experience! We ordered the Falafel Pita Shrak Wrap which was so tasty - They are very generous with the toppings btw. Everything was so fresh, and the Tahini sauce was authentic! DO NOT MISS the Fresh Mint Lemonade, it was perfectly refreshing on a hot day. We also had the hummus & pita, and an assortment of Baklava which were all perfection!!! The restaurant itself is super cute with welcoming decor, it has two outside seating areas and the chairs are very comfortable. Can't wait to go back and try their breakfast options!! P.S. don't forget to get the Za'atar Pita Chips, remind me of my childhood. Yummy! read more

i really enjoyed my time and meal here in the cozy space la'baik offers. the wrap and zatar fries were hella filling and generous. i was mad hyped on the topping options they offer because it reminded me of my childhood favorites. the mint lemonade is FIRE!! i had to end my meal with a cake and classic mint tea. the decision to get the cake was worth it, made with shredded phyllo and candied oranges. everything exceeded my expectations. i had the pleasure to meet Hamdi at the counter. i appreciated his customer service and hospitality. super nice human and great spirit. i will for-sure be coming back and saying what's up to the staff. read more

Had an amazing meal at La'Baik. Got the falafel wrap which was heated to a delicious crisp and filled with veggies and sauces. Ate half there and half later, once the wrap has a chance to cool down it is still good but not crispy like it is fresh. Also enjoyed the mint lemonade, a delightfully tart and refreshing drink that had the right amount of zing. This is a delightful addition to Del Ray and I can't wait to go back! read more
